- The episode opens with a warning that New York's Democratic races are no longer fringe contests, but a live test of how far socialist and openly anti-Israel politics can move into Congress. - Several New York candidates are framed as outright radicals, with the show stressing support for abolishing ICE, rejecting deportations, seizing the means of production, and pushing anti-police, anti-border politics into the mainstream. - Dan Goldman's race becomes a flashpoint for rising anti-Semitism, with the episode arguing that even a reliable liberal can become a target simply for being Jewish in today's Democratic coalition. - The show ties the far-left surge to a broader culture of scapegoating Israel and Jews, calling out candidates and activists who praise Hamas, smear Israel as genocidal, and turn anti-Jewish hostility into a political litmus test. - Chicago's Juneteenth weekend becomes the closing warning sign, with 40 people shot and 8 killed while city leadership responds by focusing on a “trans femicide” emergency instead of the gang violence tearing through the streets. John and I finish reading the chapter on tactics from Rules for Radicals
A comprehensive, day-long breakdown exposes a series of critical security and political crises threatening the foundation of the United States. The program begins by unpacking a rising tide of domestic extremism, specifically linking radical left-wing online networks to a terrifyingly sophisticated, multi-state drone-and-sniper plot targeting the historic UFC Freedom 250 White House celebration. The hosts connect this ideology to a "mental health political identity" gaining traction among Gen Z liberals, which is actively weaponized into violent anti-capitalist rage. This brand of radicalism has already produced devastating consequences, from the multi-billion dollar devastation of the Palisades Fire—ignited by a suspect fixated on health care executive assassin Luigi Mangione—to armed training operations run by underground entities like the Socialist Rifle Club. The hosts assert that this movement is not organic; rather, it is supercharged by foreign digital networks and billionaire tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham, who funnels millions from his headquarters in Shanghai to back anti-Western propaganda and radicalize a generation. Turning to federal domestic policy, the show highlights a massive law enforcement crackdown under the Trump administration that successfully removed 20,000 illegally licensed immigrant truck drivers from American roads over the past year. The hosts reveal a dangerous loophole where sanctuary states are issuing commercial driver's licenses (CDLs) to undocumented individuals—including an international fugitive wanted for homicide—while progressive officials aggressively block federal oversight to preserve a future voting bloc. Additionally, the show delivers a blistering, consistent critique from the right against Donald Trump and JD Vance's newly unveiled Iran Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Backed by scathing editorials from *The New York Post* and *National Review*, the segment blasts the administration for executing what they call a complete capitulation. The terms reveal that the U.S. will lift its naval blockades, hand complete control of the Strait of Hormuz to the IRGC, and allow Iran to sell its backlogged oil entirely sanction-free—all upfront, with zero nuclear verification mechanisms, just to guarantee a 60-day window for technical talks. The program also features an in-depth interview with Dean Steve Nails from Anderson University's College of Business, who outlines a bleak timeline for white-collar job displacement, predicting AI automation will fully eliminate 9.2 million knowledge-worker, accounting, and legal research roles by 2030. Finally, looking across the Atlantic, the show spotlights a massive global scandal out of the United Kingdom, diving into a damning 180-page inquiry report that alleges Prime Minister Keir Starmer systemically shielded extensive human trafficking networks to preserve progressive political alignments. UFC Freedom 250 Threat, White House Drone Plot, Marxist Extremism, Left-Wing Radicalization, Gen Z Voting Blocks, Luigi Mangione Fixation, Palisades Fire Arson, Neville Roy Singham, Chinese Communist Party propaganda, Blue Sky Extremism, Capital Police Threat Assessment, Socialist Rifle Club, Illegal Trucker Crackdown, Sanctuary States CDL Loophole, Commercial Driver's License Sting, Trump Iran Deal, Strait of Hormuz MOU, JD Vance Foreign Policy, Naval Blockade Capitulation, National Review Critique, General Jack Keane Warning, Steve Nails Interview, AI Job Disruption, White Collar Automation, Keir Starmer Cover-Up, UK Grooming Gang Report --- To understand how these extreme, anti-capitalist talking points cross from digital subcultures into destructive, real-world acts of violence, check out this report on the [Palisades Fire Suspect Fixated on Luigi Mangione](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTmDZ6LD2sg). Primary election results are in, but the conversation quickly shifts to a bigger question: how long can America afford to stay locked in a costly conflict overseas? Mike examines growing public frustration, the political risks facing both parties, and why voters are paying close attention to promises that key developments may be just around the corner. Along the way, he breaks down the latest Republican victories, what they could mean for the midterms, and why the months ahead may prove critical for the future of the country. As economic concerns and global tensions collide, the pressure is mounting for answers.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The boys drink and review Sierra Nevada's Torpedo Extra IPA, then move on to political strategy and methods. Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals remains one of the most influential—and controversial—books on political organizing ever written. In this episode, Pigweed and Crowhill dive into the life and ideas of the Chicago community organizer whose methods have shaped activist movements for generations. From "pick the target" and "keep the pressure on" to the strategic use of ridicule, disruption, and media attention, they unpack Alinsky's famous tactics and examine why they continue to be effective decades after they were first developed. But the conversation goes beyond a simple review of organizing techniques. Are these tactics merely practical tools that can be used by anyone seeking political change, or do they encourage a permanent culture of conflict? Why do modern movements always seem to be searching for the next crisis, the next injustice, or the next cause? Pigweed and Crowhill explore whether activism has become less about solving problems and more about sustaining a mindset of perpetual agitation.Along the way, they discuss Barack Obama's background as a community organizer, Hillary Clinton's connection to Alinsky, Ben Shapiro's surprising praise for some of Alinsky's methods, and the broader question of how political narratives are created, amplified, and maintained. Whether you see Alinsky as a champion of the powerless, a master strategist, or something more troubling, his influence on modern politics is impossible to ignore.

Get David's book here: https://www.nebraskapress.unl.edu/.../rainforest-radicals/ Rainforest Radicals presents the first history of one of the most innovative and successful environmental organizations of the late twentieth century. Rainforest Action Network emerged in 1985, when it took over a fledgling effort to protect rainforests from transnational corporations funding the expansion of tropical cattle ranching. It excelled at using nonviolent, civil disobedience in dramatic campaigns that captured the attention of the public, media, and RAN's corporate adversaries. As a result, two decades later rainforest conservation went from a niche academic topic to a fixture in American popular culture, the rights of Indigenous people had gone from ignored or romanticized to at least considered in discussions of the management of their ancestral homelands, and RAN had scored a series of victories over some of the planet's largest corporations. In Rainforest Radicals David Benac traces the evolution of RAN and radical, transnational grassroots environmentalism through the four campaigns identified at the group's founding: rainforest beef, Hawai‘ian rainforests, tropical timber, and multinational development banks. Forty years after RAN's inception, there is much to learn from how it organized people in small towns and large cities across the United States, created alliances that spanned oceans, and inspired a new movement that integrated human rights, Indigenous sovereignty, and environmental protection to challenge multinational corporations, national governments, and neocolonial corporate-led globalism. Through more than thirty oral histories, including those of key players from different eras of RAN's history as well as leaders from other environmental and Indigenous rights organizations, Rainforest Radicals provides unparalleled insight into the network. In this episode of The Podcast for Cultural Reformation, Dr. Joe Boot and Dr. Michael Thiessen think Christianly about Marxism — not as a political or economic theory, but as a religious worldview offering a counterfeit vision of salvation, history, and liberation. Joe traces Marx's roots in Hegel and Rousseau, unpacks dialectical materialism and conflict theory, and shows why Marxism is a fundamentally destructive project. Drawing on Marx's own writings and Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals, Joe and Michael expose how Marxism parodies the Christian story — borrowing categories like alienation, reformation, justice, and freedom while emptying them of objective content. The result is a messianic vision driven by envy and resentment, with ordinary people serving as the cannon fodder of an undefined utopia. Against this counterfeit, Joe sets the true paradigm of liberation: the Exodus. From Passover blood to Sinai law, the biblical story is recapitulated in Christ — the greater Moses, the greater Joshua, the true Passover Lamb — who delivers his people not into lawless utopia but into a kingdom of righteousness, holiness, and dominion. Marxism offers a savior who covets your stuff. Christianity proclaims the Good Shepherd who laid down his life for the sheep.

"From my very first memories, I knew that the FBI was chasing us," Zayd Ayers Dohrn says. "My parents tried to explain it in terms [like] we were like Robin Hood or we were like the Rebel Alliance in Star Wars. So I knew in the way a kid knows that our lives were precarious." His mother, Bernardine Dohrn, was a leader of the '60s radical student group Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), which opposed the war in Vietnam and racism. Along with his father, Bill Ayers, she helped found the Weather Underground, a group committed to armed resistance against the government. Dohrn spoke with Terry Gross about his radical childhood on the run, visiting his mom in prison, and the questions he needed to ask his parents. In a special encore episode, we're reposting our episode from 2020.In this episode, we commemorate the anniversary of the tragic events of May 4th, 1970 at Kent State University, where agents of the state murdered 4 students and shot 9 others. Students, who'd been told the war was winding down in Vietnam, erupted in protest at campuses all over America when Richard Nixon announced the U.S. invasion of Cambodia on April 30th. At Kent State, a working-class public school in Northeast Ohio, protesting students and other burned down an ROTC building, a common target in the Vietnam protest era, and Ohio Governor James Rhodes, vowing a violent response, mobilized the National Guard and sent them to Kent. For two days the students and Guard skirmished, with the paramilitaries hurling tear gas and intimidating students. On May 4th, the Guard, unprovoked, started shooting into the crowd of students and shot 13, killing 4, from distances beyond 300 feet. These were extrajudicial killings and a sure sign the state would murder anyone who challenged its interests. The war had come home! Scott and Bob, who's also a historian of the Vietnam War and the 1960s and has published extensively on those subjects, talk about the background to the protests, the official, violent response, the aftermath at places like Jackson State, where 2 more students were killed, and the larger context of anti-state protests and their meaning, and lessons.----------Outro// "Green and Red Blues" by Moody

“The Irish fight for liberty is the greatest epic of the modern age… those suffering together under British imperialism must learn to coordinate their effort before they can hope to be free.”These words from the Black radical Cyril Briggs captured how many people of colour viewed the Irish War of Independence. Today, the Irish Revolution is usually remembered as a struggle shaped by empire, nationalism and religion. But race also haunted this history. As Ireland fought for freedom, racial tensions were erupting across the world. In 1919, the United States was convulsed by the Red Summer, when white mobs launched brutal attacks on African American communities. At the same time, many opponents of Irish independence portrayed the conflict in Ireland as a racial struggle.Yet the relationship between Irish republicans and Black radicals was never straightforward. While Black activists looked to Ireland with hope, many Irish leaders were slow to support Black struggles and some even argued that Ireland deserved freedom precisely because the Irish were white. This episode uncovers the forgotten story of solidarity, suspicion and betrayal between Irish and Black radicals and reveals how deeply the politics of race shaped the Irish War of Independence. This is the fourth episode in Brothers in Pain a groundbreaking Global history of the Irish War of Independence by Dr Brian HanleyWritten, Researched & Narrated by Dr Brian Hanley. In this episode of The Wright Report, Bryan covers a major Supreme Court case that could redefine birthright citizenship and determine who qualifies as an American under the 14th Amendment. He also reports on growing concerns about Islamist influence and terrorism, including a Michigan Senate candidate's comments on Dearborn and a Hezbollah-linked attack tied to a naturalized U.S. citizen, alongside a broader warning from Europe after a foiled bombing plot in Paris. Finally, Bryan breaks down a potentially major shift in U.S. strategy toward Iran, as the White House quietly changes its war goals and signals it may be willing to step back from the conflict - even if key objectives like reopening the Strait of Hormuz remain unresolved.
