Brueggemann's primary method with the text is rhetorical criticism. Words matter to Brueggemann, and one can tell that by listening to him speak as he hangs on to particularly theologically significant words. His magnum opus, Theology of the Old Testament (1997), is a rhetorical-critical look at the Old Testament through the lenses of “testimony, dispute, and advocacy.” Many have come to know Brueggemann through his book entitled The Prophetic Imagination, originally published in 1978. "The instant her phone rang, Reverend Sharon Risher sensed something was horribly wrong. Something had happened at Emanuel AME Church, the church of her youth in Charleston, South Carolina, and she knew her mother was likely in the church at Bible study. Even before she heard the news, her chaplain's instinct told her the awful truth: her mother was dead, along with two cousins. What she couldn't imagine was that they had been murdered by a white supremacist. Plunged into the depths of mourning and anger and shock, Sharon could have wallowed in the pain. Instead, she chose the path of forgiveness and hope - eventually forgiving the convicted killer for his crime."   For an excerpt from this book, visit our blog Visit Sharon Risher's website To help sustain our work, you can donate here To check out what RLC is up to, please visit us www.redletterchristians.org  Follow us on Twitter: @RedLetterXians Instagram: @RedLetterXians Follow Shane on Instagram: @shane.claiborne Twitter: @ShaneClaiborne Common Hymnal information: https://commonhymnal.com/

Just over a year ago, on this episode, we interviewed Julia O'Grady about her experience Clockworking her business ITM Events during the pandemic. We get a ton of positive feedback and general curiosity about how Julia's business is doing now that her industry is opening back up… so we knew we had to have her on again.   Julia is an incredibly valued member of our RLC community and is notoriously generous when it comes to sharing her experiences, so there is no topic off the table in this interview. In this week's episode, she opens up about: What worked and didn't work about Clockworking while business was really slow The unconventional (for her industry) boundaries she and her team live by How she has shifted their culture around valuing time as a commodity And soooo much more. These are the important topics and conversations that we here at RLC want every CEO to be having. The myth around “work/life balance” is crumbling. Perpetuating hustle culture isn't something to be proud of. Team members aren't putting up with toxic leadership styles anymore And to that, we say… finally.    You can learn more about Julia and the work she does here, and you can connect with us to learn more about Clockworking your business at www.clockworkaccelerator.com
