This week we're joined by Houston's hardest working bass player MARK RIDDELL, who recently completed his first solo album Corporeal Pilot. Patrick got his hands on an advance copy of Mark's CD and has been raving about it, as you will hear during the show. Mark has been a fixture in the Houston music scene for years, playing bass with countless acts on stage and in the studio, including the Mighty Orq, the Allen Oldies Band, Trish Cramblet, Katie Rushing, Sam Morrow, Leon III, Charlie & the Regrets, and Mike Stinson... just to name a few. We talk about songwriting, the state of today's so-called "country music" and the shape of the music industry in general... and of course, kill off a few songs. Starting the new year many are going to make the decision to get healthy. Some will put them through a detox, which means " a regimen or treatment intended to remove toxins and impurities from the body”. Just like physical health we need to focus on the spiritual. “ In order to be spiritually healthy we must continually lead ourselves through spiritual detox, which occurs when we Lament, Reflect and Renew” Listen to hear what Pastor Mike has to say about Lamenting, Reflecting, and Renewing --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/shelbyalliancechurch/message
If you're digging on what we're laying down, please give us a review on iTunes. You can find My Top Five Records pretty much anywhere you listen to podcasts but a star for each one of your top five records on iTunes (that's five stars!) would be super appreciated! https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/my-top-five-records/id1494022573 It is another honor and privilege to have today’s guest on My Top Five Records podcast. Mike Stinson. He’s one of my hero honky tonk songwriters. If you’ve never heard his music, please check him out. He’s incredible. If you can see him live, even better. He is up east right now and his new single called Close Enough For Government Work. Check it out Today we talked about how when he was 15 in a record store and when he heard Bob Dylan’s, Infidels, he asked who it was and then had to buy the record. He told me that Peter Wolf of the J Geils Band was picking the walk on and off music for the Stones. One of my favorite things about Mike is that he was a drummer first. It is my belief that drummers make the best songwriters. Think about Dave Grohl. I feel they understand, like Mike says, the math behind the song. https://mikestinsonmusic.com/bio https://www.facebook.com/mike.stinson.50 https://www.instagram.com/stinsoncountry/ www.thebiggunshow.com https://www.facebook.com/thebiggunshowband/ https://www.instagram.com/thebiggunshowband/ https://www.youtube.com/thebiggunshowband

As COVID-19 continues to spread across the U.S., doctors and other care providers are stepping up to assist in the effort. Some of these volunteers are re-licensed or recently licensed providers, some have retired from practice, and some are even coming from out-of-state or working within an expanded scope of practice. Today on the Inside Tract, we’re talking to Mr. Mike Stinson, vice president of government relations and public policy at the Medical Professional Liability Association (MPLA) to better understand what urologists need to consider in terms of liability protections during the pandemic. For more information, please visit the AUA's COVID-19 Information Center.
