God saved us because of His great mercy, not anything that we did or can do to deserve it. III. A Living Hope Peter says as Christians we have “a living hope. through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” Vs. 3. Paul said, “And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world” (1 Cor. 15:19, NLT).
