When the Lord Jesus Christ says "in me" (John 15:2-7) six times in seven verses, does He mean a believer, or a man who only looked like one? Read verse 6 and ask who gathers the withered branch, and where they take him. Then ask whether "the fire" (John 15:6) is some lesser burning, or the same fire the Lord Jesus Christ names in every gospel. "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (John 15:6)

The stones of the temple at Jerusalem were thrown down in 70 AD. The towers and bulwarks of Zion that God commands us to walk about and count are found now in the Word of God. The kings saw the city of God, "marvelled," and "hasted away" (Psalm 48:5). If we have not heard the Word of God, we cannot see. We do not even know what to look for. A Christian who prays for the salvation of his children is to open the Word of God and walk about Zion, "that ye may tell it to the generation following." (Psalm 48:13)

What does it mean to abide in the Lord Jesus Christ? Read verse 3 and ask what made the eleven clean, and then ask whether a man abides in Him while His words sit closed on the shelf. Ask, too, whether the Lord Jesus Christ tells a branch what fruit to produce, or only where it must stay. "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me." (John 15:4)

God promised the Church. But he didn't promise a singular institution.

This lesson examines the divisions within the Corinthian church as described in 1 Corinthians, focusing on the specific contention where members aligned themselves with one leader to the exclusion of accepting truth from others. The central message warns against the carnality and pride that fuel such strife, emphasizing that true unity requires identifying with the Lord Jesus and His Word as the sole authority for faith and practice. While following godly men is not inherently wrong, the lesson argues that elevating them to the status of ultimate authority leads to denominational fragmentation and imbalanced dependency. Have you ever met someone who had a strong opinion about a controversial topic? For instance, someone might believe in reincarnation, a woman's right to abortion for any reason, the need for reparations for descendants of American slaves, freedom of speech, the legitimacy of socialism/communism, the need for unity among Christian denominations, illegal immigration, the right to free healthcare, medical benefits, and food assistance, perverse views about human sexuality, that evolution is the best explanation for how we got here, the right to defend your family with a deadly weapon, how to raise a family, or who is the best college football team. All of these ideas have been expressed by different people at different times, but are they right?

What did Isaiah do when he saw the LORD "high and lifted up"? He cried out, "Woe is me! for I am undone." What did John do on Patmos, the same man who had leaned on His breast at supper and asked "Lord, who is it?" He "fell at his feet as dead." Ask what terrible means when it is said of God, and ask how a man will stand when the Lord Jesus Christ comes as the lion and not as the lamb. "For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth."

When the Lord Jesus Christ speaks of "every branch in me that beareth not fruit", is He speaking of a believer, or of a man who only looked like one? Read the words "in me" all through the Gospel of John and ask whether they ever describe anyone but a man joined to Him by faith. Then ask what it is to abide, and whether a man who stops continuing in His Word still abides in Him. "Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit."

2 John 7-9 — If Jesus Christ didn't really come in the flesh, the cross was theater. A phantom cannot bleed, and a phantom cannot die for your sins. This expository preaching message walks through 2 John 7-9, where the apostle John names the deceivers of his day — men who "confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh." John doesn't call this a difference of opinion or a denominational distinctive. He calls it deception, and he says whoever transgresses this one doctrine "hath not God," however sincere, learned, or impressive he may be. This message is for anyone who has ever wondered how a false teacher can sound so much like the real thing. John's answer is unsettling: the deceivers of verse 7 aren't known by their hostility to the church — they're known by their resemblance to it. They sat where you sat.They sang what you sang. And the test isn't whether they said something false. It's whether they quietly stopped saying something true. This verse-by-verse exposition of 2 John 7-9 traces the doctrine of "come in the flesh" back through Genesis 3:15, Genesis 49, Isaiah's prophecy, and 1 Timothy 3:16 — showing why the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ cannot be separated without losing the whole gospel. Is God one refuge a man runs to after everything else has failed him, or is He the refuge? Ask why the very first word of this Psalm is the name of God, and why a man waits for trouble before he runs there. Read the word "very" set in front of present help, and ask how present that is. Working in Romans 10, Gerry G. Register goes back first to Romans 6: how shall we that are dead to sin live any longer therein? Dead is past tense, an accomplished thing, and he that is dead is freed not only from sin's consequence but from its power. "The power of sin has no dominion over you any longer." There is the Spirit and there is the flesh, and no middle ground. The second half takes up tradition, from Matthew 15, Isaiah 29, Ezekiel 33 and Mark 7: men make the commandment of God of none effect by their tradition, and a believism gospel handed down through the denominations has become exactly that. Then back to Romans 10 and a zeal not according to knowledge, with Jeremiah's broken cisterns set against the fountain of living waters. Recorded Sunday, 6 September 2026. Romans, Part 47. Is this Psalm a wedding song about a king and the bride brought to him, or is it something else entirely? Ask why she is commanded to forget her own people and her father's house before the king desires her at all. Then ask what wife was ever told to worship her husband. So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.

The sermon emphasizes the unchanging truth of God's Word and contrasts empty religious rituals with genuine, heartfelt worship. Thomas says he does not know the way, so ask whether the Lord Jesus Christ answers him with a route to walk or with Himself. Then read the ye in verses 13 and 14 and ask whether this promise is made to one man on his own or to His people together. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

What is the Gospel—and why does it matter? In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul clearly defines the Gospel: Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; He was buried; and He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. This message examines the Gospel, the powerful and prophesied resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the eyewitness testimony confirming that He truly rose from the dead. Without the resurrection, our faith would be vain. The Gospel is not baptism, church membership, religious works, rituals, or denomination. God's command is simple: repent and believe the Gospel. For those who are saved: Are we ashamed of the Gospel, or are we boldly sharing the good news that is the power of God unto salvation?

How does David call his own offspring Lord? The men who held the scriptures had no answer, and He Who asked it was standing in front of them. Read to verse 6 and ask who this king is — fairer than the children of men, a sword girded upon His thigh, riding prosperously. Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

Can a man be kept by his own confidence in what he believes? Peter had walked with Him three years, and he said it out loud, I will lay down my life for thy sake, and before the cock crew he had denied Him thrice. Ask why the Lord Jesus Christ said to a man who already believed, when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren, and what such a man would have to be converted from. Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.

The Gospel of God - Message 25 - Propitiation: God's Wrath Satisfied - Romans 3:25-26. The doctrine of propitiation has in recent history been rejected, redefined, and repudiated by theologians and ministers who cannot abide the notion of a God who has wrath toward sin that must be appeased, or satisfied. This hasn't affected only preaching, because we see many main line denominations that have gone so far as to remove from their hymnody any references to the blood of Christ. A bloodless gospel is not the gospel!

The common denominator throughout this text is not Moses' ability. It is God's presence and God's power. Moses asked the wrong question. It was not a matter of "Who am I?" but rather "Who is God?".

The purpose and goal of the law is much misunderstood not only in Judaism, but in all professing Christian denominations. The law was never intended by God to be a means of justification or eternal life, but rather to the means of bringing souls to recognize their need of Christ.

Was Judas a devil from the beginning, or was he chosen, sent out with power against unclean spirits, and trusted with the bag? Ask how eleven men who had walked with him for three years could not pick him out of the room when the betrayer was named. He cast out devils, he preached the kingdom, and he fell; a man cannot betray his Lord unless He was his Lord. Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.

Continuing a study of the dispensations, the preacher opens in Genesis 3 and shows that men naturally gravitate toward sensational falsehood rather than truth, so every claim must be tried and proved by the word of God. He then examines the three prophets of the dispensation of conscience, from the fall of Adam to the flood. Abel spoke not one recorded word yet preached by his life and his blood, bringing the sacrifice God required rather than the works of his own hands; Enoch walked with God for three hundred years and prophesied against ungodliness and of the Lord's coming with ten thousands of His saints; Noah believed God, preached righteousness to a world under judgment, and prepared an ark that saved his house. Hebrews 11 records all three, and the common denominators are the same: they believed God and followed His word, they walked with the Lord, and they stood against sin and against the world. The plain truth may draw fewer eyes than invented revelations, but it is far more profitable.

A HUMBLE ATTITUDE. Seeing Ourselves the Way God Sees Us 1 Corinthians 3:18–23; 4:1-7 KJV The Corinthian church struggled with pride, personalities, comparison, and human wisdom. Paul reminds believers that Christian life and ministry are not about making much of ourselves but making much of Jesus Christ. We are servants and stewards, and God requires faithfulness. Paul's question, "What hast thou that thou didst not receive?" brings pride to its knees. Life, ability, opportunity, salvation, spiritual gifts, and strength to serve are gifts from God. A humble Christian acknowledges the Source, remains faithful with the stewardship, and gives God the credit for the results. Our prayer should be, "He must increase, but I must decrease."Picture the donkey that carried Jesus into Jerusalem. The crowd lined the road, garments were spread, palm branches waved, and people shouted praise. Imagine if that donkey had thought, "They finally realize how important I am!" The praise was not for the donkey. It was for the One he was carrying.

"If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them." Men profess these things, talk about them, sing about them, and pay for them, and they are still not happy. The Lord Jesus Christ gives the reason Himself: they do not do them.

"O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me." The psalmist had to go to the tabernacle and wait for a man to open the book and read it aloud. You can hold the whole counsel of God in your hand every morning, and it is still the Word of God that leads.

Today, Pastors Henry, Patrick, and Jim tackle the Second Commandment in the Decalogue as summarized by the Westminster Shorter Catechism: Q. 49. Which is the second commandment? A. The second commandment is, Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments (Ex. 20:4-6). Q. 50. What is required in the second commandment? A. The second commandment requireth the receiving, observing, and keeping pure and entire, all such religious worship and ordinances as God hath appointed in his word (Deut. 32:46; Matt. 28:20; Acts 2:42). Serving Faithfully While God Gives the Increase. 1 Corinthians 3:1–15 KJV In 1 Corinthians 3:5–15, Paul teaches that Christian service is not about making celebrities out of servants. Paul planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. The field teaches us to be faithful, the building teaches us to be careful, and the fire teaches us to live for eternity. Jesus Christ is the only foundation, and one day every believer's work will be examined. Our responsibility is to plant, water, build, and faithfully serve. God gives the increase, and one day God gives the reward.

"Yet a little while is the light with you." He pleaded with them to walk, they would not, and then He departed and did hide Himself from them. The blinding was never a hand laid over their eyes; it was the Lord, who is the light, leaving the room.
