The "Paramnesia and Confabulations oh my" radio show got tons of feedback. Many listeners asked Mr. Black to go further in Detail of the Pattern of Declining Nations. In his book, "Our Dance Has turned to Death", Carl Wilson identifies the common pattern of decline in the 2 great empires of Greece and Rome. Patterns let us know why we are getting what we are getting. Once we have identified the pattern we must then ask ourselves the question, "Is this getting me what I want?" The definition of insanity is doing the SAME THING over and over and expecting different results. Today we welcome Rachel Noll James to discuss her latest film project INGRESS. Biography Rachel is an award winning screenwriter, actor and filmmaker with a focus on female driven films and bringing the female gaze to stories and genres traditionally dominated by a male perspective. Rachel grew up in Santa Fe, NM. She moved to Los Angeles to attend Occidental College, and went on to study and work in the LA area for over a decade. Rachel spent her first few years in LA working solely as an actor before she found herself getting increasingly restless waiting for other people to offer her work. So she started creating her own. Rachel's first feature was ‘Don't Pass Me By,' a film she wrote, produced, and starred in alongside Hollywood veterans Keith David, C. Thomas Howell and Sean Stone. Rachel won Best Feature Writer at the LA Femme Festival for the script, and the film was released worldwide in February of 2014. Soon after, Rachel produced and co-wrote the feature film ‘The Storyteller' which won the Silver Prize in the Family Film category in the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards and was released on Hallmark Movies Now after winning multiple awards in the festival circuit. Additional credits include the multiple award-winning short film ‘Paramnesia' that was released as part of acclaimed horror collective Fun Size Horror Volume 1, the short film ‘Half Light' that landed Rachel as a quarter finalist in the NextTV directing talent search and was released exclusively through Seed&Spark, and the short ‘Follow The River' that won Rachel honorable mention in the Port Orchard Film Festival. Rachel is currently in post-production for her next feature film, ‘Ingress' which Rachel wrote and directed.  Slated for completion in 2022. Rachel is a member of Northwest Film Forum, Women in Film Seattle and a co-founder of the female-focused production company Emergence Films. Dreams of Consciousness

Dreams of Consciousness Podcast Episode 238 features an interview with Lewis Fischer of Altars. Altars is a name to remember for anyone who likes their death metal forward-thinking as well as brutal. The Australian trio's turbulent, chimaeric style builds on classic death metal whilst taking their music into experimental and exploratory directions. I spoke with guitarist Lewis Fischer about inventing his own musical language for Altars, and why the band went quiet after their 2013 debut Paramnesia. We also talked about the circumstances that led Lewis to write material for the new Altars album, Ascetic Reflection, and how Brendan Sloan from Convulsing became a full-time member of the band. My thanks to Lewis for speaking with me, and to all of you for listening. Paramnesia is a noun that means a confusion of fact and fantasy. Paramnesia is a combination of a Greek word you’re probably already familiar with — Amnesia, meaning ‘loss of memory’ and the prefix ‘para’ which can mean a number of things depending on its context. In this case it means ‘against’ as in ‘against reality.’ Think of the word paranormal as a paramnesia’s second cousin. After that weird dream I had last night, I woke up with a weird case of paramnesia. I wasn’t sure if I had actually been chased by a dragon the night before or if that was part of my dream. Paramnesia is spelled P-A-R-A-M-N-E-S-I-A.

Welcome fellow falcon flyers to Episode 91 of Brain Software with Mike Mandel and Chris Thompson! We’re flying, even though that old tranquillity we used to know, is completely gone. Nevertheless, these are days of victory! This podcast is all about hypnosis! Hypnosis, hypnosis, and more hypnosis! Check out the show notes below while you’re listening. Keep sending us topic suggestions and show feedback. We love hearing from all of you! Here are the show notes from this episode: A lesson in cause and effect…Chris hammer fists Mike in the nose. Mike kicks Chris in the testicles. Mike loves being “the walking hypnosis machine”. Mike resists calling Chris a bastard. Stephan Moccio wrote Wrecking Ball for Miley Cyrus! 2 versions of the counterstrike story… A mild kick in the testicles can fix things! Hypnosis has always been with us…Drumming, stories around the fire…etc. Don’t tell your kids scary stories at night! Mike hilariously amuses himself by calling Chris’ girls “Garafraxa and Grophelia”. Chris starts well and now launches into a Ken Sweatman story, but Mike rescues things… Make sure your metaphors are subtle! Stories are naturally hypnotic… Mike likes the “offline metaphor”… Adam Sandler and the film Click… Chris begins well, but quickly gets into a Ken Sweatman story, with an insane amount of detail and Mike pretends to be interested… The Ultimate Hypnosis Film is still My Dinner With Andre… Chris interrupts, but Mike won’t be distracted from his hilarious point he’s making about the pantomime cat. Formalized trance is a ritual… Braid thought that eye-fixation caused trance…He was wrong! Mesmerism, anyone? A beautiful ludicrosity! Chris takes over the Mesmer story… Chris speaks of Mesmer “Passing magnetic stones…” Mike resists the obvious joke. Hey! This stuff really comes out! Mesmer was the first mutant hero: Magneto! Prestige helps hypnosis…The Royal Touch came from Edward the Confessor! Your brain contains a complete pharmaceutical chemical chest! Chris mentions the placebo effect, and correctly states that hypnosis is an amplifier. Build prestige to increase your hypnotic ability! You too can be trained at the University of Toronto! People like the average moron say that they don’t believe in hypnosis…or dentistry? It’s legitimate, folks! But how many kinds of hypnosis are there? Never mistake the model for the real deal. You cannot touch the critical faculty or put it in a wheelbarrow… The Ritual of Hypnosis is a useful model. We don’t emerge, people, because we know they’re not submerged! Some people say there are no levels of trance…Some people say that trance and hypnosis are different things… Keep it simple, folks! That’s elegance, and that’s what our Neo-Ericksonian model is. Gus Grissom Update! Paramnesia is FMS or False Memory Syndrome… To preserve a memory: Don’t access it! Chris talks about preserving money by not spending it, but it’s not the same thing at all…(Editor’s note: Yeah, it’s exactly the same thing) The invisible gorilla? Well, he’s wrong! Mike explains his forensic method. He makes a rare mistake by claiming the case he discusses was on YTV. It was Discovery. Embedded commands can be done in a waking state through the use of analogue marking.  No need to get insomnia tonight… Empowering Question: What are you going to do today to ensure you’ll learn all you neeed…and how exactly will you proceed…to make hypnosis a huge and fulfilling part of your life? Empowering Metaphor: Metro Toronto Zoo, and a tiger on the loose! Ending: The Return of Jenny… Please leave a rating in iTunes, and send in your questions by email to info(at)mikemandelhypnosis.com Important Reminders: Check out the Personal Development Academy! You can learn the same techniques that Chris and Mike use to have awesome lives! Melissa Tiers is coming to Toronto! You can register here. Registration is open for our May and June 2018  Architecture of Hypnosis training at the University of Toronto. The dates are filling up already, so if you’re serious about attending get on board quickly!
