Too many cool middle grade fantasy series were swallowed by Pottermania, and this week is one of them: The Two Princesses of Bamarre by Gail Carson Levine. Lindsay wants to make it a heartfelt pastoral adventure where a young girl learns to believe in herself! We also yell at Disney for causing good art to happen, despite the horrors. Our friendship promo this week is @OurSparksPod! Our cover art is by Alex aka @ptchew, and her work can be found on ptchew.com. The Power Trip: A Journey Through the Power Rangers Franchise
Podcastros temporarium maximus! Welcome to Power Rangers Hogwarts, er, Mystic Force. This PR season was made at the height of “Pottermania,” and given it was filmed in New Zealand, it must've been trying to catch some of that Lord of the Rings, well, magic. It's unique in both the Power Ranger and Super Sentai franchises with its focus on high fantasy. It's just too bad it's mildly obsessed with its Red Ranger, Nick, who isn't the most likable guy. It's an uneven season, for sure. Also, Nathan and Michael discuss the theme of honor—and Nathan schools his very Edna Mole-ish co-host on the awesomeness of capes.-----------------------------------------------EMAIL FEEDBACK TO THE SHOW:powertrippod@gmail.com-----------------------------------------------FOLLOW THE SHOW:Follow The Power Trips on Twitter: @ThePowerTripPod.Join the podcast's official Facebook group: Power Rangers Legacy.-----------------------------------------------READ KAIJU RAMEN:kaijuramenmagazine.com-----------------------------------------------OTHER PODCASTS WITH ATTITUDE:Kaiju Weekly Podcast:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/kaiju-weekly/id1330448313The Henshin Men Podcast:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/henshin-men/id1575547087The Monster Island Film Vault:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-monster-island-film-vault/id1472692780The Kaiju Groupie Podcast:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-kaiju-groupie-podcast/id1519596361-----------------------------------------------The podcast logo was designed by Rebecca Hudgens. This week we are reacting to popular Harry Potter Plot Holes. The harry potter series have stood the test of time and for the most part have been cohesive throughout, but fans have been able to craft plot holes that we as a podcast feel the need to address and perhaps counter. Sometimes an average game hits all your right buttons, so you fall in love with it. That's what happened to me with Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire for PS2, Xbox and GameCube (playing the PS2 version, personally). It's not essential, but for me it sits at the perfect crossroads of cheap, playable, and representing the pinnacle of my beloved nostalgic Pottermania.Check out the entire playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgFeDoUzP0o79llgWUK70G2yx6xFbLHD2On my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIjJS_yMOjBNxl7xpBPXPWQShawnSchaller.com | @ShawnSchaller Music: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Theme - PS2/Xbox/GameCube OST Video: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire TV Commercial (multiple systems), Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban TV Commercial (GameCube)
Hey you, thanks for checking our podcast, we'd love for you to stay! This week we are discussing the lack of cultural and racial representation in the Harry Potter series. We can all agree that the majority of non-white character haven't been fully developed and granted character development and arcs, their white counterparts have. We will be chatting about this today and sharing our own personal opinions and views. If you were a Harry Potter character which one would you be and why? Also if you could spend your entire time in one place at Hogwarts, where would it be? This week we are discussing our favorite characters, classes and professors. Re-posting an old favourite to make sure my RSS feeds are still working. The summer of 2007 saw the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. When I was out and about in Athabasca on that fateful morning, I noticed a group of Athabasca Harry Potter fans all lined up in front of the Athabasca Value Drug Mart...the only place in town selling it on release day. So I wandered up to them, had a chat with them, and made a podcast about it. So give it a listen!

In 1997, a boy wizard named Harry Potter was unleashed upon the non-magic world...or as he would call it, the Muggle World. It was a slow introduction to start, but when the book crossed the pond and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was released in the United States in the summer of 1998, Pottermania became a magical force to be reckoned with. On this episode of The Boy Who Lived we follow the boy wizard Harry Potter from page to screen, and Albie's relationship with his father from near-redemption, to...well...you'll have to listen.
