One of the biggest news recently in Hollywood is probably the news about Johnny Depp being asked to leave Fantastic Beats 3 as Grindelwald but his ex-wife, Amber Heard was allowed to stay on for DC movies like Aquaman. Isn't that crazy? The Judge from the court case even threw out Johnny Depp's evidence even though it was a recording of Amber Heard admitting to hitting Johnny Depp. Hollywood is weird. But Warner Bros. did Johnny Depp dirty... Funny enough though, Warner Bros. still has to pay Johnny Depp his 8-figure salary even though he only filmed one scene in the movie. Ever wandered what the creative process is behind the films, tv shows and theatre productions you watch? Well, crew chats is a podcast going behind the scenes and chatting to the crew that help make these productions. Matt Reitsma studied at the Rhode Island School of Design with the intention of studying Fashion Design but later transferred to Textiles, when he found he had a passion for it. After graduating, Matt moved home to Philadelphia to set up a print studio and began working for the Philadelphia Opera Company and thereafter working for many theatres on both the East and West Coast of America. After working for a number of years in textile departments for theatres, Matt transitioned into the film world in Los Angeles, beginning with some dyeing on The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This exposed him to film designers and supervisors, which subsequently led to working for designers such as Deborah Scott and Colleen Atwood. As a part of his working practices, Matt is aiming to reduce waste in his work processes, by trying to reduce water waste and to decrease the use of toxic chemicals in order to create a more sustainable and healthier working environment. Matt splits his time between the States and the UK and has worked on productions such as, ‘Titanic’, ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’, ‘Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them’ and ‘Dumbo’ to name a few. Matt's recommendations were: -Babette's Feast -Cabaret -The Fall Directed by Tarsem Singh -Children of Men

Hi guys, welcome back to Geeking Out Loud! On our fourth episode of Season 2, Maria talks about one of the biggest movies of 2018, Fantastic Beats: The Crimes of Grindelwald. The movie set in the Wizarding World stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterson, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Zoe Kravitz, Ezra Miller, and of course cinema royalty, Jude Law as Young Dumbledore, and Johnny Deep as dark wizard Grindelwald. The second film in a five part story brings back our lovely characters from the first one, while introducing new faces that fit right perfectly in the story. There’s so much to talk about and digest with this movie, plus a bunch of fan theories. However, these won’t be part of this review, since this is Geeking Out Loud’s NON-SPOILER REVIEW for Fanastic Beast: The Crimes of Grindelwald. Let’s chat about our non-spoiler opinions, shall we? First off, some APOLOGIES!! A couple of sound issues I tried by best (sort of) to get rid of. Also, apologies for Pat and Joe's behaviour in Tom's absence... this episode does go off the rails a bit! This isn't a completely Tom-free episode though, we have clips from our live show featuring SPOILERS for Crimes of Grindelwald, we also get him on the phone for a mid-holiday chat. All topped off with a delightful quiz. See you next week for our Christmas episode! Check out the "Fantastic Beats..." CHRISTMAS playlist on Spotify here: http://bit.ly/FanBeats For any questions, content or general badinage you wish to share with us: Twitter - @aattapod, Facebook - /aattapod, email - aattapod@gmail.com, Youtube - AATTA Podcast.
This week's "Chapter" is a doozy! Brenna and Joe struggle through Lauren Oliver's breakout 2010 novel Before I Fall and the 2017 film adaptation of the same name by Ry Russo-Young. Tackling questions about character likability, white privilege, redemption arcs, the financial viability of killing your protagonist and a quick discussion of Vancouver housing prices, this may just be the week that breaks Brenna! Also: we introduce three new YA BINGO squares, Brenna highlights Paperback Crush by Gabrielle Moss and Joe goes off on J.K. Rowling's bad screenplay for the new Fantastic Beasts film "The Crimes of Grindelwald". Stay in touch with the show on Twitter using #HKHSPod: Brenna: @brennacgray Joe: @bstolemyremote Or email us at hkhspod@gmail.com. See you on the page and on the screen!
Beasts? Where can you find them, you might ask? Why, here of course! Upon this fortnight, two brave companions did stride into the cinematic complex, to witness the latest theatrical release of Harry Potter’s Wizarding World. “Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them: The Crimes of Grindewald”. Also, we find out who the real Fan of Bingbing is. Cause guess what, it ain’t the Chinese government! (If you don’t understand, don’t worry, because we don’t either). With a bonus appearance of Ai Weiwei. Last but not least, we look at stuff we like in Picks of the Week, featuring Jacob being snobby, and Aulden picking Christmas movies. 'Tis the season! This week the guys finally find out whether or not Screech killed a man and the obsession with the bit-part Star Wars actor grows. Along with regular features like TTFFU, PEEVES & Tom's Game, the guys made sure they found the time to discuss the youtube comments on a Hepburn video. Check out the "Fantastic Beats..." Welcome back, Train Weirdos! This week the guys are tired and Pat's got more travel woes, as usual. That doesn't stop them speculating about the nationality of a bit-part Star Wars actor and whether or not the actor who played Screech in Saved By The Bell killed a man. We also have PEEVES, Tom's Riddle and Joe's lovely quiz. In the long awaited return podcast, Frank and Daniel are joined by dancer/actor Joey Rodriguez to discuss the return of the Harry Potter Universe, looking at both Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, as well as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them! (There is conflict on one and unanimous love for the other.) They discuss new magic, the differences in the two products, the reception of both projects, and their favorite moments and characters in both. They also look forward to the future of Fantastic Beats and ask the important question-Who will be cast as Albus Dumbledore?
There are spoilers in this review! These show notes do have affiliate links. My friend Kathy and I enjoyed Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. Definitely had the Harry Potter magic. But it did have some issues in spots. I purposely wanted to watch the movie with her. She is long time, Potter fan(she's read all the main books cover to cover). My final score was 7.5/10, hers was an 8/10. We go in depth regarding our thoughts on the film. If you one of the few people on the planet who don't know anything about Harry Potter, you can learn more here. Here is the entire book series and movie series. It's gonna be the next Jupiter Ascending and will be bogged down in its own writing. Two stars" Darrell: "Basically looks like The Fifth Element. Very generic. Unimpressed. Two stars" Robert: "Not excited. I guess I'm an alien-racist? Didn't like the way they looked. CGI looks positively horrible. One star" Reviews: Mars: Episode 1 Robert: "Man, going to Mars looks impossible. I can't believe we're able to get off the face of the planet at all. Recommend" Darrell: "I recommend with caveats - don't go in with high expectations. Recommend" Jermaine: "I also recommend. Good documentary mix with slightly disappointing live-action parts" Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them Jermaine: "After first twenty minutes, movie finally congeals as jello. The CGI in this movie is spectacular. Good casting all around. Recommend" Robert: "I love the period setting and how this movie is aimed towards adults. Love that it's Americanized. Recommend" Darrell: "Not a children's movie. Definitely an adult movie. Also, how aren't animals escaping from the suitcase left and right? Makes no sense. Recommend" Recommendations: Jermaine: "I was on the cruise and had to watch something. Wrecked is so good!" Robert: "Can't get enough of Code Geass: Akito the Exiled and the comforting slide-of-life show Working!!" Darrell: "Am very happy with my new Samsung Galaxy S7. 24-hour battery life!"
Robert, Corey, and guest Katrina talk about Fantastic Beats and what they liked. Or Corey talks for an hour about all the things he hates about a movie he actually likes. If he has this much to complain about on a movie he likes, what happens when he really hates a movie.
