Romans 8:26-27 // Nathan MillerWhen was the last time you were left speechless by grief, disappointment, loneliness, frustration?Maybe you paced aimlessly: I just don't know what to say. Maybe you struggled to know how to express your feelings, or maybe you even struggled to know what exactly it was you were feeling! Maybe you didn't know what to pray, or how to pray, or even feel like you could pray. What are we supposed to do when we no longer have words?Paul's answer might surprise you. Because it's less about what we do and more about what God does. What God is already doing. Even when all we can do is groan, God reminds us that: We never groan alone.SERMON NOTES (YouVersion): https://bible.com/events/49254182PRAYER REQUESTS: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new24.05.12
Romans 8:26-27 // Tom NelsonPrayer can be hard for all of us. Sometimes we struggle to pray because we don't know what words to pray. We wonder what to say? I think one of Satan's greatest strategies when it comes to prayer is to stop prayer in its tracks by convincing us we need to formulate just the right words before we pray. That somehow if we get our prayer words just right, God will hear us. Paul's words here in Romans are so encouraging in this regard. Sometimes in prayer we simply groan in God's direction. We must remember the Holy Spirit meets us right where we are even when we are speechless, even when all we can do is groan. The Holy Spirit groans with us and He prays on our behalf.SERMON NOTES (YouVersion): https://bible.com/events/49254181PRAYER REQUESTS: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2509/responses/new24.05.12

Let's be honest! As much as we love the idea of prayer, prayer can be hard work. That's true when we don't know what to pray, or when God's will is a mystery to us. And it is especially true when we are weak, wrung out by whatever decision or distress or difficulty is dominating our lives. I would guess that most of us, if not all of us, have been in that place sometime in life. We are tempted to shut down, give up, just walk away from prayer, but the message of Romans 8:26-27 calls us to PRESS ON IN PRAYER even when prayer is harder than we ever expected.Join your GCC family this weekend as we continue to discover the works of the Holy Spirit. As we study Romans 8:26-27, we will be greatly encouraged by the way the Spirit helps us pray!
