A few weeks ago (on December 7, before the great snow storm), we saw how Jesus' birth, life, and death solved humanity's Single Greatest Problem -- alienation from God. This Sunday we'll see how his birth, life, and death also has the power to resolve our Second Greatest Problem -- alienation from each other.
Send us a textWhat if love didn't start with your effort but with God's presence moving toward you? This guided, unhurried reading of 1 John 4:7–21 explores a radical claim—God is love—and shows how that truth can steady anxious hearts, transform relationships, and make faith visible in everyday life.We walk through the text line by line, hearing how the sending of Jesus redefines love as concrete and self-giving. Together we consider why living in love means living in God, how the Spirit anchors our assurance, and what it looks like to “live like Jesus” in the world. The passage dismantles the fear of punishment, replacing it with confidence rooted in perfect love that drives out fear. Then it turns the spotlight on practice: if we say we love God, we must love the people we can see—especially the difficult ones. That challenge is not a burden to earn approval but an overflow of being loved first.Along the way, we pause for reflection. What is your picture of God? How does that picture shape your capacity to receive love and extend it to others? With a simple invitation to open your hands and welcome a fresh touch of grace, this episode blends scripture, stillness, and honest questions that lead to action. If you've been craving a faith that feels less like striving and more like abiding, these words offer both clarity and comfort.Listen and share with someone who needs courage today. What Loving One Another Looks Like (1 Corinthians 13:1-7) | Nate Reed
Today we're stepping into a command from Jesus that sounds simple… until you actually try to live it out:“Love one another.”Not tolerate. Not coexist. Not avoid conflict. Not “love the lovable.”But love one another. And if we're being honest, this might be one of the hardest commands Jesus ever gave.Because people are complicated.Relationships are messy.Personalities collide.Boundaries get crossed.Expectations go unmet.Feelings get bruised.Misunderstandings multiply. And yet…Jesus didn't give us an escape clause. He didn't say, “Love one another when it's convenient.”He didn't say, “Love one another when they deserve it.”He said:“Love one another as I have loved you.”Brother… that level of love is not soft or sentimental. It's surrender. It's sacrifice. It's spiritual strength. It is warfare against the darkness that seeks to divide God's people.Let's go.

Discover the three key principles that made the early church thrive: a clear standard of membership, a deep commitment to biblical teaching, and a radical love for one another. Pastor passionately unpacks how accepting the gospel message, staying rooted in the Word, and living in true fellowship can transform our churches today. Don’t miss this inspiring call to be the church God intended!

TODAY'S LESSONIf there's one mark that should define the Church, it's love. Not how loud we sing. Not how polished our sermons are. Not how big our buildings get. Jesus said it plainly: “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”But let's be honest—sometimes Christians can be the worst at loving each other. Pride, gossip, grudges, comparison—they poison the very atmosphere God designed to be fueled by love. When the world sees Christians tearing each other down, our testimony collapses.Real love is not sentimental. It's sacrificial. It doesn't just say, “I'll pray for you.” It shows up. It listens. It forgives. It carries the weight of another's burden. Real love costs something, and it reflects the very heart of Jesus who laid down His life for us.The truth is, love is the ultimate apologetic. You can debate doctrine, argue theology, and defend your faith with reason—but love shuts the mouths of critics. Love silences doubt. Love reveals Jesus more clearly than anything else we do.So, let's raise the standard. Don't settle for shallow kindness. Don't settle for church cliques. Love radically. Love sacrificially. Love well. Because that's the kind of love the world can't ignore.

Jesus' command to love one another is one of the great commandments that Jesus gave to His disciples. In fact, it was their love for one another that marked them out as His followers to an unbelieving world. The same holds true for His followers today. In this message, Pastor John shows us how we can fulfill Christ's command to love one another in a broken world.October 05 2025Music: CCLI License 20576625- Not What My Hands Have Done | Buddy Greene, Horatius Bonar | Copyright Words: Public Domain; Music: Rufus Music; Hill Spring Music
Jesus commands His disciples to love each other with the same self-giving love He has shown them. For us, that means caring well for our families, joining a discipleship group for spiritual growth, and serving one another through ministry teams. Our devotion to Christ overflows into practical, sacrificial love for His people.
This week we conclude our intensive study of the New Testament book of Colossians by focusing on Paul's closing words. At first glance, our passage just appears to be a litany of personal notes directed at different individuals. But as we dig into it, we'll see wonderful glimpses of what spiritual community is supposed to be -- and why we need it so much. This Sunday we'll also celebrate our 34th Anniversary with our All-Church Picnic that takes place right after worship services at 12:30 pm. Join us for the celebration!

Welcome to the Podcast of Southwest Bible Fellowship in Tempe, Arizona. WHO ARE WE? • We are a group of people who are committed to living the grace life as set forth by the apostle of the Gentiles, the Apostle Paul. • We come together to study our Bibles, and yes, we believe we have God's perfect Word in the King James Bible. It and it alone is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice! • We do not come together and study our Bibles for the intent of being smarter than others. We understand that knowledge for the sake of knowledge is purely vain and serves no Godly purpose. • We do come together and study our Bibles for the intent of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ and the power of His resurrection. (Philippians 3:10) • We do come together and study our Bibles to understand that we have been crucified with Christ; nevertheless we live; yet not us, but Christ liveth in us: and the life which we now live in the flesh, we live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved us and gave himself for us. (Galatians 2:20) • We do come together and study our Bibles to understand that because Jesus Christ shed His blood for us and we should not live for ourselves but for Him, who died for us and rose again. (2 Cor. 5:15) • We do not claim to have attained to these lofty goals, but we press toward the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:14) You can donate to this ministry through www.butnow.org and the PayPal button on the homepage.

Brad's sermon preached at First Presbyterian Church in Eden, NC, on Exodus 20:1-2-14.
Join us as we discuss Matthew 26:26-46 where Jesus institutes the Lord's supper with his disciples. Also, we discuss what it means to receive and love one another as part of our job description as church members.
This sermon explores the Christian call to love one another with brotherly affection and to outdo each other in showing honor, as commanded in Romans 12:10. Pastor Brent Sivnksty emphasizes the importance of sincere, family-like love among believers, rooted in God's mercy and Christ's example. He challenges the congregation to live out these principles both at home and in church, stressing the need for kindness, forgiveness, and putting others' needs before one's own.

"I wish they would castrate themselves". Paul speaks about the contradictions that come together in grace in extreme terms! When we lack compassion, it's even more difficult to com to a place where we can show grace to others. "Justice has to have a bit of love in it, or it becomes cruelty". This is a great talk from Galatians 15 that includes one of the most important reminders "you shall love your neighbor as yourself". Hope you all have a great week.
