In an interview conducted the week of March 11th for Theme Park Thursday with @DillosDiz, A. Ali Flores discusses his 20+ year career as one of the most recognized Central Florida entertainers. Ali's passion for standup comedy began when he started doing audience warm-up for shows like Double Dare 2000, NBA All-Star Jam, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Fox Family's Summer Jam and, most recently, Family Feud with Steve Harvey. . His uniquely energetic show will have you laughing from start to finish. His instantly likable personality and his comedic routine is relatable to everyone. From subjects of race to sports to being a single dad he turns your real life (or rather his and those he comes in contact with) into side splitting, sometimes embarrassing, humor! You may have seen him in the ABC Family movie “My Future Boyfriend” or any of his many commercials. He just completed shooting the film “Random Tropical Paradise” starring Joe Pantoliano, Bryan Greenberg and Brooks Wheelan, the film “Naked” starring Marlon Wayans and an episode of “Good Behavior” set to air this fall on TNT.
Actress and Vine star Brittany Furlan joins the ladies in the studio to talk about starting her career on the internet and all of the celebrities she's befriended on the way, as well as her new film "Random Tropical Paradise."
Host, Erin Whitehead, invites A. Ali Flores to the podcast right off his big finals win in Clash of the Comics, Orlando to discuss disgusting “Would You Rather” scenarios, grown-ass men doing stupid crap with fidget spinners, Bubba’s amazing fireworks display, riding bare-back and drunk on horses in college and how young folks don’t understand the beauty of cassette tapes anymore. If you want to get out of a situation is it acceptable to pretend you have diarrhea? Are men idiots? (Spoiler: We all know the answer) Do folks make great decisions when hammered? Is it possible to destroy your trigger finger with a fidget spinner? Will Erin make it through this recording even though it’s way past her bedtime and her voice is damn sexy? How many bitchin’ fireworks will $4000 get you in the undiscovered parts of Florida? What in the world did Ali’s daughter do to warrant the “you might want to sit down” talk? How many girlfriends did Ali get in high school because of his Guiding Light knowledge? Are there buffalos in the panhandle of Florida? Why did God let Ali miss all of those trees? Did the LA Times reviewer LOVE Ali’s movie, Random Tropical Paradise? You know how I know you’re old? On this week's show, our very own Batman, Ross returns to the co-host chair, to chat about all the latest tv, film and gaming news, and we have a great interview for you with the brilliant composer Bryce Jacobs. Bryce is an Australian-born composer, and it would be fair to say, he’s an eclectic musician! He's worked across all sorts of genres in tv, film and gaming, including comedies, documentary and drama. He’s composed songs, written scores & orchestration, and worked as a session and touring musician for Australian artists including Josh Pyke and Genevieve Maynard, and international artists such as Sophie B. Hawkins. However, it was in film & tv composing he really discovered his passion. Moving to LA, he joined Hans Zimmer's legendary Remote Control Productions. There he worked on working closely with Grammy and Emmy Nominated composer Ramin Djawadi, and contributed to tv, film and games such as ‘Clash of the Titans’, 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides', ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’, ‘Rush’, ‘Man Of Steel’, ‘Prison Break’, ‘12 Monkeys’, ‘Medal of Honor’ and ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’. His dedication to film music led to the development of a guitar of his own design - a guitar that was based on the range and capabilities of a piano, which became a new and exciting platform to write and perform any style of music on. His most recent work has seen him composing the score for upcoming film ‘Random Tropical Paradise’, and you can find out more about him and his work at www.brycejacobs.com. Also On This Week's Show: Ross is back as the co-host, so we catch up with the tv shows, films & games we've been watching & playing, including 'The Crown', 'Colony', the return of 'Zoo', 'Crash Bandicoot' and 'Fallout 4'. We take a look at all the latest tv & film news, including casting for ‘Once Upon A Time’ (and the fate of E4's brilliant 'Wasted'), the ‘Heathers’ reboot, and Supergirl's new mum! We give you our recommendations for upcoming TV in the next 7 days. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Guido the killer pimp. Ralphie, the killer. Period. Joe Pantoliano, aka Joey Pants, scared me. Joey's appeared in innumerable iconic films of varying genres. His work includes : The Idolmaker(a personal favorite), Risky Business, The Goonies, La Bamba, Midnight Run, Bad Boys I and II, Empire of the Sun, The Fugitive, The Matrix, Memento, and Daredevil, to name but some. Most notably perhaps, his Ralphie in The Sopranos, which earned him a best-supporting actor Emmy. A New York Times bestselling author, when I asked him to read at Women Who Write from his 2nd book, Asylum, chronicling his personal battle with depression, with each question he asked, I began to sweat. I’d hate to get whacked because of my lousy cooling system. He ended up being one of the warmest, earnest, most real and accessible guests we’ve had. Now, some years later, when I emailed him to ask him to guest on TRT, he shot me his digits and picked up the phone as if we’d spoken the day before. He was cooking dinner for his daughter just before our conversation. How can a guy like that scare me? Joey's an open book about his family, career and his battle with depression. He's worked hard at all of them to make them work. He's the founder of No Kidding Me Too ~ The Celebrity Advocacy- To eliminate the shame & obliterate the blame of brain dis-ease. Thoughtful, inspiring, and funny as hell.... the conversation digs deep and soars with levity. He's got a load of work in various stages of production... fan favorite Sense8, and the just dropped, Random Tropical Paradise, which hit theatres last week, to name but two. A lovely, albeit sometimes scary, man, I adore him. You will, too. Or, at least pretend you do... ya know... for your own good.
