"God did not create a meaningless world." – A Course in Miracles Workbook, Lesson 14What if the distress we feel about the world's horrors isn't rooted in divine creation but in the ego's projection of fear and separation? In this episode of Love & Learn, we explore Lesson 14 from A Course in Miracles Workbook, diving into the discomfort and resistance that arises when faced with letting go of deeply ingrained meanings. Key Insights on Lesson 14:1. God's Creations Are Eternal: This lesson reminds us that what is real and meaningful is eternal and unchanging. Anything that causes fear or distress stems from the ego's illusions. By repeating today's mantra—“God did not create a meaningless world”—we affirm that divine truth is not shaped by the fleeting or painful aspects of the physical world.2. Letting Go of Meaningless Thoughts: When distressing thoughts arise, they often stem from the meanings we have projected onto the world, reinforced by collective socialization and indoctrination. This lesson teaches us to observe these thoughts, label them as illusions, and release their hold on us, opening the way for divine love and peace to flow in.3. Practicing Specificity and Awareness: With eyes closed, bring to mind a specific fear or distressing situation.State clearly: “God did not create [specific situation], and so it is not real.”Repeat: “God did not create a meaningless world.”This practice helps us confront our personal and collective “repertory of horrors” with compassion and detachment, reinforcing the truth of God's eternal love.Resistance is natural—observe it without judgment and return to the practice when ready.CONNECT WITH JESSICA FLINTWebsiteInstagramORACLE DECKS USEDTea Leaf Fortune CardsAnimal Spirit DeckThe Rose Oracle Deck
LESSON 183I Call Upon God's Name And On My Own.God's Name is holy, but no holier than yours. To call upon His Name is but to call upon your own. A father gives his son his name, and thus identifies the son with him. His brothers share his name, and thus are they united in a bond to which they turn for their identity. Your Father's Name reminds you who you are, even within a world that does not know; even though you have not remembered it.God's Name cannot be heard without response, nor said without an echo in the mind that calls you to remember. Say His Name, and you invite the angels to surround the ground on which you stand, and sing to you as they spread out their wings to keep you safe, and shelter you from every worldly thought that would intrude upon your holiness.Repeat God's Name, and all the world responds by laying down illusions. Every dream the world holds dear has suddenly gone by, and where it seemed to stand you find a star; a miracle of grace. The sick arise, healed of their sickly thoughts. The blind can see; the deaf can hear. The sorrowful cast off their mourning, and the tears of pain are dried as happy laughter comes to bless the world.Repeat the Name of God, and little names have lost their meaning. No temptation but becomes a nameless and unwanted thing before God's Name. Repeat His Name, and see how easily you will forget the names of all the gods you valued. They have lost the name of god you gave them. They become anonymous and valueless to you, although before you let the Name of God replace their little names, you stood before them worshipfully, naming them as gods.Repeat the Name of God, and call upon your Self, Whose Name is His. Repeat His Name, and all the tiny, nameless things on earth slip into right perspective. Those who call upon the Name of God can not mistake the nameless for the Name, nor sin for grace, nor bodies for the holy Son of God. And should you join a brother as you sit with him in silence, and repeat God's Name along with him within your quiet mind, you have established there an altar which reaches to God Himself and to His Son.Practice but this today; repeat God's Name slowly again and still again. Become oblivious to every name but His. Hear nothing else. Let all your thoughts become anchored on This.No other word we use except at the beginning, when we say today's idea but once. And then God's Name becomes our only thought, our only word, the only thing that occupies our minds, the only wish we have, the only sound with any meaning, and the only Name of everything that we desire to see; of everything that we would call our own. Thus do we give an invitation which can never be refused. And God will come, and answer it Himself. Think not He hears the little prayers of those who call on Him with names of idols cherished by the world. They cannot reach Him thus. He cannot hear requests that He be not Himself, or that His Son receive another name than His.Repeat God's Name, and you acknowledge Him as sole Creator of reality. And you acknowledge also that His Son is part of Him, creating in His Name. Sit silently, and let His Name become the all-encompassing idea that holds your mind completely. Let all thoughts be still except this one. And to all other thoughts respond with this, and see God's Name replace the thousand little names you gave your thoughts, not realizing that there is one Name for all there is, and all that there will be.Today you can achieve a state in which you will experience the gift of grace. You can escape all bondage of the world, and give the world the same release you found. You can remember what the world forgot, and offer it your own remembering. You can accept today the part you play in its salvation, and your own as well. And both can be accomplished perfectly.Turn to the Name of God for your release, and it is given you. No prayer but this is necessary, for it holds them all within it. Words are insignificant, and all requests unneeded when God's Son calls on his Father's Name. His Father's Thoughts become his own. He makes his claim to all his Father gave, is giving still, and will forever give. He calls on Him to let all things he thought he made be nameless now, and in their place the holy Name of God becomes his judgment of their worthlessness. All little things are silent. Little sounds are soundless now. The little things of earth have disappeared. The universe consists of nothing but the Son of God, who calls upon his Father. And his Father's Voice gives answer in his Father's holy Name. In this eternal, still relationship, in which communication far transcends all words, and yet exceeds in depth and height whatever words could possibly convey, is peace eternal. In our Father's Name, we would experience this peace today. And in His Name, it shall be given us.- Jesus Christ in ACIM

Frankly, I am somewhat surprised, since by no means do I consider myself an expert on parenting. I do, however, consider God the Expert par excellence on parenting. As I was raising my children, I relied totally on God to direct me. There were many times I had absolutely no clue as to what I was doing. And there were even more times that I made mistakes--sometimes big ones. But there was one thing I always did right: I prayed! And, oh, how I prayed! Each night, as I checked on my children after they had fallen asleep, I would kneel down beside their beds, gently lay my hands on their precious heads, and pray this prayer: "Father God, please bridge the gap between the love my children needed today and the love they received." And then I trusted God to do just that. And, do you know what? He did! My daughters are now in their forties, and I can see the fruit of my daily, heartfelt prayer in their lives. They have become beautiful women of God who love Him and serve Him with all of their hearrt, soul, strength, and mind. And I owe it all to our Heavenly Father. You see, when I first became a Christian a few years before my children were born, I discovered a promise to parents in the Bible. The promise is found in Proverbs 22: 6 KJV and says this: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." The New Living translation states it like this: "Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it." As a young mother, I was trusting enough to believe that verse and to take God at His Word. My job was to learn what "the right path" was and to teach it to my children. And so I began a diligent study of the Bible. Whenever I learned a new principle of holy conduct, I taught it to my children. I taught them the Word morning, noon, and night, because the Bible instructed me to do so. Regarding God's commandments, the Bible has this message for parents: "And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates." And that's what I did. So, let's break down these verses in Deuteronomy 6 and uncover the specific steps to wise and successful parenting: 1. Commit wholeheartedly to God's commands. As parents, we must commit ourselves wholeheartedly to God's commandments, If we aren't serious about obeying God, we can't teach our children to be serious. They will see right through our hypocrisy. 2. Repeat God's commandments over and over to our children. We all know that children usually don't get it the first time around. Nor the second! We have to repeat and repeat and repeat. The same is true of God's commandments. Our children need to hear them over and over before those commandments begin to sink in. 3. Continually talk about God's commandments. We must talk about God's commandments when we are at home, in the car,

Thank you! 1) Repeat God's promises to yourself This is easier said than done, but the best thing we can do is to remind ourselves of the God we have entrusted our lives to. [Hebrews 12:1-2] This is a CHOICE. Believe God's truth over what we feel in our time of pain. Believing our feelings leads down a dangerous path “The heart is more deceitful than anything else, and incurable--who can understand it?” - Jeremiah 17:9 [2 Corinthians 4:17-18] – “For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory. So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” We focus on Christ and His promises, understanding we are NOT alone in our pain! “Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.” -Romans 8:26-27 MSG 2) Sing in the victory and the pain The psalmist cries to God is good times and bad. He did not forget to worship God in His suffering. -Psalm 86 a song of lament. Worship and praise of God in your most trying times can become a battle cry for you! The song that gets stuck in your head should be one of victory and belief that Jesus is Better than anything else in this world. An act of surrender and trust. Believing before the victory comes that we have victory in Jesus and that He won't leave us where we are now. Acts 16 Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God in prison. 3) Run to community • Our pain and suffering will drive us to isolate ourselves, which is one of the worst things we can do. Choose to have your brothers and sisters support you when you go through trials. [Galatians 6:2] [Proverbs 17:17] – “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a difficult time.” [1 Corinthians 12:26] – “So if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.” When you are weak, you need a friend whose faith you can stand on. A friend that will lower you to Jesus. Just one or two trusted people is all you need. BUT don't wear your friends out - know your boundaries. They are your friends, not your therapist. Seek out a good counselor as a part of your team! 4) Choose daily to keep fighting •Even when the pain doesn't go away, we remind ourselves that God still has a plan for me, He is still working in me and He is going to finish what He has started in my life. [Philippians 1:6] [Job 13:15a] – “Even if he kills me, I will hope in him.” Trust there's purpose in your pain. We cannot always see it in the moment of our pain, but God is with us and is working in our lives in the midst of our pain. [James 1:2-4] – “Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.” 5) Use your pain as a gospel opportunity The people closest to you take a deeper notice of you when things fall apart. With the world watching, what am I showing them? [2 Corinthians 1:4-5] – “He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.” God has people waiting in the wings that need to hear how you survived. To know they can too. God's Name can not be heard without response, nor said without an echo in the mind that calls you to remember. Say His Name, and you invite the angels to surround the ground on which you stand, and sing to you as they spread out their wings to keep you safe, and shelter you from every worldly thought that would intrude upon your holiness. Repeat God's Name, and all the world responds by laying down illusions. Every dream the world holds dear has suddenly gone by, and where it seemed to stand you find a star; a miracle of grace. The sick arise, healed of their sickly thoughts. The blind can see; the deaf can hear. The sorrowful cast off their mourning, and the tears of pain are dried as happy laughter comes to bless the world. Repeat the Name of God, and little names have lost their meaning. No temptation but becomes a nameless and unwanted thing before God's Name. Repeat His Name, and see how easily you will forget the names of all the gods you valued. They have lost the name of god you gave them. They become anonymous and valueless to you, although before you let the Name of God replace their little names, you stood before them worshipfully, naming them as gods. Repeat the Name of God, and call upon your Self, Whose Name is His. Repeat His Name, and all the tiny, nameless things on earth slip into right perspective. Those who call upon the Name of God can not mistake the nameless for the Name, nor sin for grace, nor bodies for the holy Son of God. And should you join a brother as you sit with him in silence, and repeat God's Name along with him within your quiet mind, you have established there an altar which reaches to God Himself and to His Son. Practice but this today; repeat God's Name slowly again and still again. Become oblivious to every name but His. Hear nothing else. Let all your thoughts become anchored on This. No other word we use except at the beginning, when we say today's idea but once. He cannot hear requests that He be not Himself, or that His Son receive another name than His. Repeat God's Name, and you acknowledge Him as sole Creator of reality. And you acknowledge also that His Son is part of Him, creating in His Name. Sit silently, and let His Name become the all-encompassing idea that holds your mind completely. Let all thoughts be still except this one. And to all other thoughts respond with this, and see God's Name replace the thousand little names you gave your thoughts, not realizing that there is one Name for all there is, and all that there will be. Today you can achieve a state in which you will experience the gift of grace. You can escape all bondage of the world, and give the world the same release you found. You can remember what the world forgot, and offer it your own remembering. You can accept today the part you play in its salvation, and your own as well. And both can be accomplished perfectly. Turn to the Name of God for your release, and it is given you. And in His Name, it shall be given us.- Jesus Christ in A Course in Miracles, Lesson 183
Satsang April 17, 2016: Remember what's important; dedication to a purposeful life; a life of service; God as a constant in life. Remember God's name. Repeat God's name in all circumstances so that you have a constant. You remember what's important in life. You'll have an even keel in life; then so much of the ups and downs of life you'll realize is not so important.
