Our freedom in Christ is not for the purpose of self autonomy instead it is to be used to love others. We are free to live in a way that serves others. Specifically we serve them by participating in the restoration of a fellow believer that is over taken in sin.
We continue our “one another” series with two more admonishments to “love one another” and “restore one another”. We'll take a look at what the Bible has to say about both of these imperatives for believers, and how we can put them into action.
Ralph Moody Sr. was a major driver (pun intended) of racing innovation and design throughout the 20th century. In particular, together with John Holman, the Holman-Moody race team helped develop and refine a veritable fleet of awe-inspiring machines, from offshore power boats to the legendary Ford GT-40. In fact, serving as Ford's de facto tuning shop in the 1960s, the FoMoCo tapped Holman-Moody to design and build its entrant into the nascent NASCAR Aero Wars: the Torino Talladega. While Ralph Moody Sr. passed away in 2004, the Moody legacy carries on with his son, Ralph Moody Jr. Now an accomplished mechanical engineer, Ralph Jr. got his start by wrenching in the Moody garage. We sat down with Ralph Moody Jr. to talk all about his family's history and get the backstory behind a specific restoration project for this podcast episode.

Bible Verse of the Day But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. – James 3:17-18, KJV ______________________________________________ But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. – James 3:17-18, NIV
This morning, Brother Danny wrapped up his segment on fellowship within the church, with a message about our role as ministers of restoration. In order to be successful in that ministry, first we must not clothe ourselves in the in the ways of the world. Paul calls the Colosian believers to put off things like anger and envy and strife and to be clothed instead with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. When those are the characteristics that show in our lives, the way we treat one another will be different. This leads us to the ability to forgive one another, and to restore our relationships to where they ought to be. /// Scripture: Colossians 3:12-14 | Speaker: Bro. Danny Nance | Date Recorded: September 26th, 2021 | Running Time: 49:17
Today's scripture is Galatians 6:1-10.

Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
Galatians 6:1-3 / Demetrius Hicks Demetrius reminds us that because we are family in Christ, we are to defend and protect each other as we would our closest friends and biological families. This protection includes calling each other out of the dangers of unrepentant sin - humbly, carefully, and graciously pursuing our brothers and sisters and inviting them into repentance and reconciliation.

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. – Galatians 6:1-4, KJV __________________________________ Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spiritshould restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else. - Galatians 6:1-4, NIV

There is much hurt when we are wronged by a brother or sister who is also a Christ-follower. When we experience such pain, we are often tempted to walk away from the relationship, be vengeful, or even hurt the person back. After all, the cancel-culture within society and the church is at it peak. Within the wake of all the responses back and forth, we are left wondering if this is the right way for us to respond as Christ-followers. How do you and I appropriately respond to someone who has hurt us?

2017.09.17 - 互いを正しあう Restore One Another: Lukas Kernen by Double O Cross Church
Sermon by Pastor Corky Have you ever noticed that there is not a "Restore One-Another" committee in churches? Never has anything been so simple conceptually, and so difficult to implement. The truth is we live in a disposable society and relationships have become as easy to discard as Monday morning trash. There are a myriad of reasons that this is a hard ministry in the church and I'll cover some of them on Sunday, but difficulty doesn't excuse us from this Biblical mandate. I think most Christians feel like this is what we hired a Pastor for! Surely this is the work of a professional Christian! And the truth is I work very hard to bring back people who have strayed from their faith, mostly because I know what is at stake if we don't. The thing is most people see me coming, but what if your life and love is what pressed in on them. What if you were the one God needed to pull people back from the abyss? But make no mistake about it, it is hard and often disappointing this work to restore people who drift. I think you would be amazed at how much the Bible has to say about this command and despite all the unity the early church possessed, there were still many who were walking away. Some people believe Jesus demands to much. And they are right in that Jesus demands a great deal, but the transformative by-product of our obedience is incomparable to anything else in the world. Join us Sunday as I preach a sermon I would have loved to have handed to Janice. God is in the restoration business, which means we are in the restoration business.
