In 1989, a critically-acclaimed newcomer to the country music fold, Sammy Sadler, had already charted several successful singles and was ready to release his first album on Evergreen Records when he was caught up in the assassination of then Cash Box chart-manager, Kevin Hughes, and a payola scandal that would bring down the magazine and rock the music industry.Despite suffering a near-fatal gunshot wound that would require multiple surgeries to repair, Sadler remained under suspicion until the murder was solved thirteen long years later - by then, his career was dead, as well.In March 9, 2004, Sadler attempted to reboot his career, releasing Hard On A Heart on the Tri label. The title track placed in the top-10 on the Texas Music Chart and went No. 1 in Europe for seven weeks but produced lackluster results in the states. In 2009, Sadler released another album, Heart Shaped Like Texas on Audium Records, which transitioned to Koch Records and eventually sold to E1 Music. Despite rave reviews for singles "I'll Always Have Denver," and "No Place to Land," E1 Music ultimately closed and Sadler's recording career ended. Since that time, Sammy continued to play to fans with two successful tours-one with Doug Stone in 2012, and the other lasting from 2015-2016 with Ken Mellons and Jeff Carson called the "Taking the Country Back Tour."Record promoter Chuck Dixon, who was suspected of ordering the hit against Hughes, was reported to have died mysteriously in 2013, and triggerman Richard D'Antonio would die in prison in 2014. The passing of both provided a newly found confidence to Sadler, who had spent years looking over his shoulder as a result of PTSD.In 2021 Sammy released his highly acclaimed album 1989 produced by Buddy Hyatt, which featured duets with country hitmakers T. Graham Brown, Marty Rabon and Larry Stewart. Sammy's reemergence was featured in exclusives with People Magazine and Newsmax. Sadler was also featured and shared his new music and story of personal triumph with WSMV's Today In Nashville, Fox 17's "Rock n' Review" and The Dr. Ward Bond Show.Sammy's new album will be tentatively released in 2024. The single, Louisiana Rain, was released in May of 2022. His latest single, Everything's Gonna Be Alright, was released in February 2023.Sammy's story is far from over, in fact, it's still being written.Support the show

What would the Grizzly Bear sound like if it could sing? It would sound like it had taken lessons from J Edwards. It's that voice that rocks the streets of downtown Nashville, but it's his original songs that bring the city alive again with the spirit of long gone story-tellers. It's the voice that draws you in and the power in those words that nail you to the chair until the last strum of that old acoustic guitar. Folks have missed their planes back to California and New York while under the spell of those smoke-like songs. J Edwards has had some kind of instrument in his hand since birth. While other babies were grasping at rattles, he was playing Black Gospel tambourine from under the front pew of the "Holy Roller" church. A little up high and double time. Writing his first official song at 9 years old he quickly found an outlet for his writings with his already husky vocal sound and soon became the voice of the "hollaring" songs sure to turn the worship into a hand clapping, foot stomping good time. It wasn't long before Edwards was the fill in person on whatever instrument was unoccupied during each church service. So many different notes to express so many different of moments.Being raised Pentecostal brought it's share of ridicule and some lack of connection with his friends at school, so in his teens J Edwards turned to the gut-wrenching sounds of Blues, R&B and the lonely stories told in the 70's and 80's country songs coming out of that beat up clock radio. A little misguided teasing by counterparts and being a little disregarded by female friends due to their lack of understanding and his "different" appearance was the nail through the soul that scratched out onto paper some of the most heart aching lyrics we've ever felt in a song. It could have been that wrasslin' with religion and the knowledge of it that mashed the spiritual and the longing for a specific woman together and brought us songs of a soft healing touch that still couldn't save him....  or maybe it was just an old  T.G. Sheppard song.  "She said, Do you wanna go to heaven and I said yes, just lead me on...". But, that voice will shake the rafters. It's kind of like somebody mixed the attributes of Joe Cocker, Bob Seger, Merle Haggard, Rev. Al Green, Bonnie Raitt and all of your favorite singers that poured it out from the heart and came up with something not like any of them, but still had the sound to take you to forgotten places where you were scared and comforted all at the same time. Somebody said "That voice has purpose. It comes out of his mouth with a job to do and does it. It gets it done" Those smoky tendrils of J Edwards' songs are creeping across the room at you right now. It's gonna put a spell on you.The 2019 album, Cold is now available on all major forms of streaming media including Amazon, Google Play, iTunes and Spotify. Inspired by his grandfather who had played the Grand Ole Opry, Corey's music is heartfelt and emotional. His work covers the gamut of personal struggle and loss – to finding happiness and love. His original music inspires the listener with the resounding sincerity of his genuine vocals and searing lyrics. #countrymusic #georgejones #georgestrait  Corey first began singing at around age five and writing music as a pre-teen. He has focused on honing his music skills as a writer, singer, and musician for most of his life. By 2003, he won an international singing competition, Teen Talent, which was held at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis. In 2010, he began traveling to sing background vocals with several prominent gospel artists, including Eddie James, among others. In 2004, he signed his first record deal with an independent label. While traveling to promote his first album, he hit rock bottom after a near-death experience. He says, “This was the lowest point of my life up until that time.” Corey became singularly focused on his talent as a singer and songwriter - putting to words and music to his real-life experiences.  You can hear some of that story in his single entitled, “Let's Take Tonight.” Corey recently contracted COVID 19, was hospitalized, and was told that he would not survive it. “Though I had a strong faith, it made me question everything. What gave me solace was believing there had to be a purpose in life for God to have given me this talent and the belief that I had something to offer country music fans. As it turns out, it was music that proved to be the most healing medicine of all.” Corey has just released his latest single, “Searchlight,” and his new album, ‘Bend-or-Break ‘ He recently made his national television debut on the popular RFD Network show, ‘Larry's Country Diner.'LISTEN ON SPOTIFY“Corey's vocals and songwriting are authentic and pure, a singers singer. The inspiration for Tommy's transformation? That would be guitar legend Chet Atkins, who represented to Tommy the pinnacle of guitar playing. One man, one guitar, and unlimited, passionate song. Like Dylan, who made a pilgrimage from the Midwest to New York to meet his idol, Woody Guthrie, Tommy always knew he had to get to Chet. To let Chet hear his music, which had been so shaped by his years listening, and absorbing, Chet's genius. When he finally made that trek around the globe to meet the man himself, in Nashville, their bond was immediate, and like their music, existed beyond words. Chet picked up his guitar, and the two men jammed joyously for hours. It started a lifelong friendship which shaped Tommy's music forever. Chet welcomed Tommy into guitarist knighthood by bestowing upon him the coveted title of CGP (Certified Guitar Player), an honor awarded only to four other humans ever. Though already devoted to the life of a solo player, receiving the love and esteem of Chet lifted Tommy into a different realm. Because, as Chet recognized instantly and told the world, musicians like this don't come along that often; pay attention to this man. Of course, Chet knew of what he spoke. Tommy's triumph on his singular solo path has been extraordinary. From the Midget Surfaries he's become beloved and revered around the planet for the music. And, for the joy.“When I was a kid, I wanted to be in show business. Now, I just want to be in the happiness business. I make music, and you get happy. That's a good job.”– Tommy Emmanuel

DID I SHAVE MY LEGS FOR THIS (1996)Album Information: Did I Shave My Legs for This is the debut studio album of American country artist Deana Carter, released via Patriot Records in the UK in 1995. In 1996, Capitol Records had Carter record new material for the North American release of the album, which included three songs from the original release.[8] This version features her breakthrough debut single "Strawberry Wine", a number-one hit on the Billboard [[Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart at the end of that year. "We Danced Anyway", "Count Me In", and the title track were also released as a singles. Of these, "We Danced Anyway" and the promotional single "How Do I Get There" also reached number one. (Wikipedia)Album InfoEverything's Gonna Be Alright (1998)Everything's Gonna Be Alright is the second studio album by American country music artist Deana Carter. Released in 1998 as her second and final studio album for Capitol Records Nashville, it features the single "Absence of the Heart", a number 16 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts in late 1998. "You Still Shake Me" and "Angels Working Overtime" were released as the second and third singles, and peaked at numbers 36 and 35, respectively. "Ruby Brown" failed to chart in the U.S., but managed to reach number 74 on the country charts in Canada.Album InfoFather Christmas (2001)This holiday album manages to be great despite itself -- one of Deana Carter's strengths is her songwriting; this is a collection largely of standards. Even though it adds a kind of fireside charm, the guitar accompaniment, provided by her father, Fred Carter, Jr., seems ham-handed and often off-tempo. The only thing about the album that isn't flawed is her voice. Subtle and sweet, she charms throughout and sets a gentle, soothing tone that is perfect for a wintry evening. Carter has also managed to present a holiday album that manages to exude a down-home country style without resorting to stereotypical twanginess and fiddles. Father Christmas may not go too far to try to be original or different, but it is pretty memorable just the way it is.Album InfoI'm Just A Girl (2003)I'm Just a Girl is the fourth studio album released by American country singer/songwriter Deana Carter. The album peaked at #6 on the U.S. Top Country Albums chart and #58 on the Billboard 200, and produced two singles. "There's No Limit" was released in late 2002 as the lead single. Who are The Boxmasters?Formed in 2007, The Boxmasters have recorded an impressive and diverse catalogue of music that touches on their love of a wide array of influences, but most importantly, the rock and roll of the 1960's. Listening to The Boxmasters, one can hear obvious odes to the Beatles, Byrds and Beach Boys, but also important to The Boxmasters are The Mothers of Invention, Kris Kristofferson, John Prine and Big Star.Since forming The Boxmasters, several long-time friends have contributed to the sound of the band, but the core of The Boxmasters has always been Andrew and Thornton. As primary songwriters, the sound of the Boxmasters has been an evolution as the duo constantly strive to find new inspiration, new sounds and new ways of expressing what is in their hearts and on their minds. But at the core, there is a backbeat, a lyric with meaning and music played with emotion.  As a touring band, The Boxmasters have cultivated a rabid cult fanbase across the United States and Canada. Opening for the likes of ZZ Top, Steve Miller, George Thorogood and Kid Rock The Boxmasters have proven to win over large audiences. As a headliner, frequent stops in Kansas City at “Knuckleheads”, Springfield, Illinois at “Boondocks” and “Merrimack Hall” in Huntsville, Alabama have shown dedicated yet still growing audiences. Two appearances at Levon Helm's “Midnight Ramble” in Woodstock, New York were highlight performances for the band, as well as the “Ramble at The Ryman” that Levon hosted in 2008. The Boxmasters performed on “The Grand Ole Opry” in 2015, another in a growing resume of must-play venues.

As founder of two formidable rock bands, The Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Randy has accrued over 120 platinum, gold and silver album/singles awards from around the world. His songwriting has garnered the coveted #1 spot on radio play lists in over 20 countries and his total record sales exceed 40 million albums and singles.Randy's distinctive brand of guitar-driven, no-holds-barred hard rock is instantly recognized worldwide.Randy's music is a veritable soundtrack of the last forty years of popular music. “These Eyes”, “Laughing”, “Undun”, “No Time”, “American Woman” and “No Sugar Tonight” with The Guess Who all resonate with the Bachman touch. Between 1969 and 1970, The Guess Who sold more records than the entire Canadian music industry combined with the Bachman-Cummings songwriting team becoming the most celebrated partnership in Canadian music to that point. The Guess Who brought Randy's music to North America. He followed that with “Let it Ride”, “Roll on Down The Highway”, “Takin' Care of Business”, “Looking Out For #1”, “Hey You” and “You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet” with Bachman-Turner Overdrive, taking his name and hit-making abilities worldwide. In 1974, BTO was the biggest-selling recording act in popular music.Randy also stands in rarified air as a member of a very exclusive handful of artists who have topped the charts in two different bands: “American Woman” (co-written by Randy) with The Guess Who and “You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet” (composed wholly by Randy) as leader and singer with Bachman-Turner Overdrive. In addition, “No Sugar Tonight”, written by Randy, was a double A-sided #1 hit paired with “American Woman”.Randy's songs have been recorded by a wide spectrum of artists including Lenny Kravitz' version of “American Woman” which topped the charts 29 years after the original, as well as appearing on television and movie soundtracks including Seinfeld, The Simpsons, American Beauty, and Austin Powers 2. He has been animated on the SIMPSONS and is listed in the Guinness Book of Worlds Records.Randy Bachman's name is synonymous with the guitar. The instrument is an extension of who he is and he is rarely far away from a guitar. His playing has earned the respect and admiration of the finest guitar practitioners, many of whom have sought him out both as a kindred spirit and collaborator. Since first picking up the instrument in his teen years in Winnipeg, Canada and teaching himself to play, the guitar has been Randy's first love. He was fortunate early on to be mentored by one of the greatest guitar players of all time, the legendary Lenny Breau. Those tutorials from Breau served Randy well allowing him to develop a versatility that is the envy of his contemporaries. In 2006, Randy paid tribute his mentor by recording his acclaimed Jazz Thing album which, through digital technology, allowed Randy to duet with hero. To honour Lenny Breau's legacy, Randy founded Guitarchives Records whose goal has been to rescue and release otherwise lost Breau recordings.Randy's career has been built on his indomitable drive and dedication to music. Never content to rest on his stellar laurels, Randy has consistently reinvented himself. He has released albums, in a variety of genres and styles throughout his career, from hard rock to blues, country, and jazz.As host of the top-rated CBC and Sirius XM radio program Randy Bachman's Vinyl Tap, Randy's listeners each week worldwide number in the millions. His career began in earnest when a young John Elefante auditioned as the new lead singer and keyboardist for Kansas, in 1981. That year, the band was one of the top-grossing concert acts in the world and Elefante had never been in a band apart from his family. Although several of the top vocalists of the day applied for the job (e.g. Sammy Hagar, Doug Pinnick, Jim Stafford), Elefante received the part.Elefante sang the lead vocals and performed keyboards on two Kansas albums. He was also a major songwriting contributor (along with lead guitarist/keyboardist/songwriter Kerry Livgren). On 1982's Vinyl Confessions, he co-wrote and sang the No. 4 Billboard Mainstream Rock hit, "Play the Game Tonight". He also wrote the acoustic-based classic "Chasing Shadows", along with the Top 40 single, "Right Away". The next year, on the following album, Drastic Measures, he wrote the early MTV favorite, "Fight Fire with Fire", which remains the band's highest charting single at No. 3 (Mainstream Rock) as well as a staple of Kansas' live shows to this day. Elefante was also responsible for "Everybody's My Friend," which was released as the second single from the album and reached No. 34 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.Around this time the band began to buckle under the increasing strain of maintaining the consistent radio hits and record company commercial expectations. In addition, contemporary pop music was quickly becoming antithetical to the band's organic, sophisticated aesthetic. A new age of sequenced synthesizers and drum machines confronted Kansas with the near-impossible challenge of maintaining their musical essence and commercial integrity. In 1984, on the retrospective collection The Best of Kansas, Elefante wrote the album's one new track, "Perfect Lover". That same year Elefante, Kerry Livgren, and Dave Hope left Kansas. In 1985, "Young and Innocent" appeared on the soundtrack to St. Elmo's Fire and was credited to "Elefante" as a collaborative effort by brothers John and Dino Elefante.1985–1989Elefante discovered another calling while still with Kansas—record producer. In 1984, he produced Perfect Timing for ground-breaking Southern California group, Sweet Comfort Band. While not a major commercial success, Petra's Back to the Street was a Grammy-nominated, breakthrough, commercial success for both Elefante and the band. He also contributed songwriting, keyboards, background vocals and engineering to the effort. With both John and Dino Elefante as the band's primary producers, Petra's already popular Christian pop/rock niche was given a timely boost. Their accolades include multiple gold albums, 10 consecutive CCM Magazine Reader's Choice Awards, induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Hard Rock Cafe, and the only artist to ever have four albums in the SoundScan top-100 Christian chart. In 1987 while producing a various artists album called California Metal, the album's production team of John and Dino Elefante ended up one track short and they decided to add a song written for Kansas called "Wasn't It Love" (originally entitled "What About Love") under the name Mastedon. Regency later requested a full-length album which became Mastedon's debut, It's a Jungle Out There.Closing out the decade, Elefante had produced five major label albums, and performed on 12. Over the next five years, Elefante worked at an almost frenetic pace as one of the most in-demand producers in Nashville. In addition to Petra's further releases, he worked as the producer on 30 other albums. He usually performed on the releases as well, often sharing songwriting credits, as well. Elefante was committed to his role as producer, eschewing other opportunities such as an offer to replace Bobby Kimball as lead singer for Grammy winners, Toto.

My first “professional” job in California was associate editor for Chrysler Power magazine, which led to more freelance writing for magazine titles like Mopar Action, Drag Racing Monthly, Popular Mechanics New Car Buyers Guide, Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords, and Scale Auto Enthusiast. These writing gigs were exciting and really got me thinking about becoming a full time staff member on a big title like Hot Rod or Car Craft. I also worked as a machinist at Eric Hansen's Stage V Engineering in Walnut, CA. If you don't know, Stage V Engineering produces a wide range of products for the 426 Hemi engine family. Ranging from complete cast aluminum Hemi cylinder heads to ultra-duty roller rocker arms to freshly-designed intake manifolds, it was a great experience to be part of the Stage V family for three years. In the late summer of 1997 I got a phone call that would literally change my life. It was Ro McGonegal, then the editor of Hot Rod magazine. He wanted to know if I was interested in coming to work for him as Technical Editor. He'd seen some of my published writings and wanted me to join the staff. I must say, trying to remain calm and collected during the interview process was a real test of my acting skills! In the end, I spent the next 7 years aboard the fantastic, glorious ship that is Hot Rod magazine.During the next 7 years, I had the honor of working in the hallowed Petersen Publishing building at 6420 Wilshire Blvd. with guys like Ro McGonegal, Gray Baskerville, Jeff Koch, Terry McGean, John Dianna, Drew Hardin, David Freiburger, Matt King, Doug Glad, Jeff Smith, Matt Stone, Henry De Los Santos, Steve Campbell, Steve Temple, Rob Kinnan and many other professional writers – many of whom I'd been reading since youth. On the other side of the pages, I formed ties within GM, Ford and Chrysler and was granted access to their inner sanctums as part of numerous magazine articles devoted to Detroit high performance engineering. I was also thrilled to have worked with racing and customizing icons like Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins, Ronnie Sox, Jake King, Buddy Martin, Dick Landy, “Big Daddy” Don Garlits, Richard Petty, George Barris, Linda Vaughn, Richard Schroeder, Art Carr, Don Nicholson, Troy Trepanier and many others.Another thing that happened during my time at Hot Rod was the opportunity to appear on Hot Rod Magazine TV, which was then produced by WATV and (as it does today) aired on SPEED TV. This is where I got my first exposure to regular TV work and was able to put some of my training to work. Though there was no extra pay for my efforts (as Tech Editor at Hot Rod I was a salaried employee), the experience was awesome. Quickly we discovered that viewers loved itany time we took the camera into one of the many self-serve automotive boneyards in Southern California. Before long, I hosted over a dozen of these so-called “Junkyard Crawls” and ratings spiked whenever one was included in an episode.By 2005 I had been on staff at Hot Rod for 7 years, that's longer than most Tech Editors – the constant pressure of meeting monthly deadlines has a way of chewing you up. Also, my interests were moving toward doing more TV work and less magazine writing. So I resigned and quickly got a number of jobs hosting automotive TV programming. Maybe you saw me on Classic Car Restoration on the DIY Network, Off Road Adventures on the Outdoor Channel, Rides Reunited on the History Channel as well as some commercials and promotional bits on SPEED TV.

“There's something intrinsic about humanity and a survival instinct. Most of us will do whatever we can to keep our head above water, to take one more breath in and out…to keep breathing and keep our heart beating. But God's intent for His children, His creation, wasn't limited to survival. He intends for us to thrive. “I have come that you may have life to the full.” (John 10:10).For Natasha Owens that verse isn't merely a comfort or a pick-me-up… It's a decree. A mantra for life…and it is the very thing that has turned her darkest days into a light that is too bright not to share.“Life is hard and heartache, tragedy and loss aren't selective or rare. But for many people, as soon as they make it through the given crisis, they stop there. They stagnate,” she says, reflecting on her own season of loss and the dark days when all she could do was breathe in and out.A few years ago, Natasha's father, 58 at the time, was doing a simple task he'd done hundreds of times before. There was no drama. There was no build up. There was no warning. While cleaning his guns one day, one misfired, placing a bullet in his chest. He died soon thereafter.“After the shock wore off, the depression set in,” she shares. “For some reason, our pastor came to me and said he thought I should be the music minister at the church.”Even now, the memory of that conversation stirs a small laugh of disbelief.“I couldn't even get out of bed every day,” she says. “How could I get up and motivate anyone else?”After a lot of time in prayer, alongside her husband, Natasha accepted the position. Soon, the music, the mission and the ministry captivated her heart. It stole away the listlessness and confusion and hopelessness. Week after week, as she poured herself into the music of the church, thereby pouring herself into the lives of all who comprised that church body, the Holy Spirit poured into her a peace, a reassurance and a drive to take this opportunity even further than she could have imagined.“Sometimes you have to pour out to other people,” she says. “You have to pour out in faith. That's when and how you get your healing. I took the music minister position and while it was still a long process of climbing out of the depression, I was so focused on songs, it stopped the spiral. It took time, but the music held me. The songs gave me strength enough to get out of bed.”Unbeknownst to Natasha at the time, those songs lent more than strength. They laid the foundation for what would become the next chapter in her heart, her healing and her ministry. Vacillating between the church platform and a writer's room, Natasha soon had another collection of songs; songs of restoration, hope and peace. At the prompting of a friend she took her music into the recording studio and created her first full-length project. It didn't take long for the album to circulate within the music industry, opening doors left and right. The brand-new recording artist landed an opening slot for CCM icon, Michael W. Smith. She was invited to tour with Dove Award Artist of the Year recipient, Jason Crabb. She shared the stage with Sanctus Real. With each new opportunity came another chance for Natasha to share her heart, her message and her hero. The songs that had been her healing, her comfort and her restoration were becoming that very thing to people around the world. By all accounts, she had succeeded and overcome. More accurately, she had allowed the God whose love burned through the darkness to be her victor. Victory after victory, her own stagnation began to give. She wasn't just surviving anymore. She was beginning to thrive.

Legendary all-American frontman and guitarist, Mark Farner, was the engine that pulled the original Grand Funk Railroad repeatedly to the top of the charts, and today he's a platinum recording artist 30 times over. At age 70, Farner commands the stage with the same intensity and outpouring of love as he did during the summer of '69 and his fans are still flocking to see “the Captain.” The rock patriot's synergy and open heart still come through in epic hits that defined a generation including— “I'm Your Captain” (Closer to Home)”  “We're An American Band” “Heartbreaker” “Bad Time To Be In Love” and recut covers of  “The Loco-Motion” and “Some Kind of Wonderful.”  Being viewed as a “Rockstar” is only one facet of the legacy of this Michigan-born son.   Mark is as real as they get: he's a husband, a father, and grandfather, and in his fourth decade of marriage to wife Lesia. He's a true family man.“I think our fans originally connected to our songs because we were sincere” Farner said. “My lyrics were about Mother Earth, stopping the war, and all about love. They still have a point of reference with me in their heart.”After the 1969 Atlantic Pop Festival put Grand Funk Railroad on the fast track, the band topped the Billboard Chart twice with both the anthem “We're an American Band” (1973) and 1974's “The Loco-Motion.” The Flint, Michigan trio reached the top 10 again with “Some Kind of Wonderful” (No. 3) and “Bad Time” (No. 4) before GFR disbanded for the first time in 1976. Farner briefly rejoined Grand Funk during the 1980s and 1990s and he has collaborated with many other artists over the years.  However, his focus has been to forge an enduring solo career based upon bringing his message of love to his fans in all corners of the world.“Love is unconditional,” he explains. “Just like when you hold a baby, the love transfers. I feel that love from the audience when I'm on stage.”The son of a World War II veteran, four-time bronze star recipient and career fireman, Farner also knows the importance of brotherhood and commitment. On his mother's side, he champions his Cherokee heritage and the fact that his mother was the first woman welder in the United States to weld on a tank during World War 2. It just so happened to be the same type of Sherman tanks his father drove. Farner's work on and off the stage is focused on honoring service personnel and veterans and offering support to American farmers, individuals with disabilities, and downtrodden populations.

Bruce Sudano returns on October 1st, 2021 with a fresh offering of dispatches from the heart on his latest EP of new original songs, Ode to a Nightingale, to be released on his own Purple Heart Recording Co. The new record succeeds a pair of equally immediate, thoughtful, and urgent mini-albums issued in 2020. Released last April, Spirals Vol. 1: Not a Straight Line to Be Found was praised by Americana Highways for its “five moving songs about life, love and death that captivate and hold the listener's attention.” Sudano's October 2020 release Spirals Vol. 2: Time and the Space In Between garnered a four-star review from American Songwriter, with freelance writer/author Lee Zimmerman noting, “Sudano's found himself on a steady roll.” Noted for his songwriting for Dolly Parton, Michael Jackson, and Donna Summer and his own hits with the band Brooklyn Dreams, Sudano has established a burgeoning reputation in his own right. Fittingly, his latest release began with solo sessions at his home studio in Milan, Italy. “I live half my life there,” says Sudano, who also maintains a home in Los Angeles. “I basically walked in my studio, did all the vocals and acoustic guitar, and then e-mailed it all over to my producer Randy Ray Mitchell in L.A., and he put guitars and bass on. Depending on the song, we employed who we thought would be the appropriate drummer.” He says that for the new record, “I delved more and more into my harmony thing – I came out of a tradition of harmonies in Brooklyn Dreams, and growing up in Brooklyn at the end of the doo-wop era. The ability to do harmonies, to create harmonies, is a gift that I've kind of ignored in this evolution of myself as a solo singer-songwriter.” The song “Ode to a Nightingale” – derived not from John Keats' 1819 romantic poem, but from imagery in the work of Italian poet and filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini – was written in the aftermath of the 2020 election, and draws on the same political charge that powered “The Mountain” on Spirals Vol. 1 and “American Sunset” and “For the Sake of Humanity” on Spirals Vol. 2. He says, “I see the nightingale as a voice in the darkness, hopefully singing beautiful melodies that are leading us out of the darkness and into the dawn and the light of a new day.” Likewise, in the set-closing “All Hands” he cautions against complacency: “We can't let our guard down. We have to be vigilant, because we're certainly treading a very fine line in our country.” The dream-like song “In Shadowland” – which is being launched by a vision-infused video directed by Furio Ganz, with striking visual effects by Claudio Bellini – shouldn't be pinned down by any definitive interpretation, the writer says. “I decided that I'm not going to describe that song, because it's an illusion – it's an illusion lyrically, it's an illusion sonically, and it's an illusion visually when you see the video. Everybody who has heard the song or seen the video so far has had their own interpretations of what is being said. If you're sensitive enough to listen to your inner spirit, your inner voice, it's this whole world of shadows.” While there is no shortage of serious and introspective material on Ode to a Nightingale, Sudano adds, “I didn't want this record to be as heavy and dark as some of the things I'd been writing in the past. I've transitioned through a lot of loss, and I wrote a lot about that. I wanted this record to be a little light, and I wanted to revisit the vocal side of things. I wanted it to have more of a pop element to it.” The bouncing, blissful “Do Be Do (Daytrippin')” was inspired by the time he spent with his wife Francesca, whom he married in February 2020, in the months after the pandemic hit.

Having made his feature film debut starring in the teen comedy CAVEGIRL Daniel Roebuck quickly realized that there was only one direction to travel in his career. Up!Soon after CAVEGIRL, Roebuck established himself as one of the industry's youngest character actors with his haunting portrayal as the teenage killer, Samson in THE RIVER'S EDGE.Since then Daniel Roebuck has continually challenged himself with each new role he undertakes. His fearlessness was readily apparent as Roebuck took on the guise of Jay Leno in THE LATE SHIFT, HBO's critically acclaimed telefilm, written by Bill Carter, directed by Betty Thomas, and executive produced by Ivan Reitman. THE LATE SHIFT detailed the "late night wars" as NBC jockeyed for the services of Jay Leno and David Letterman following Johnny Carson's retirement from "The Tonight Show." Roebuck described the task of playing such a high-visibility entertainer as "the hardest thing I've ever done." However, after driving past Leno while on his way to an initial make-up test for the role, Roebuck believes there is a "definite serendipity" to his involvement in the project.Never one to be satisfied, Daniel stepped into another set of famous shoes when he was asked to play Garry Marshall in BEHIND THE CAMERA; MORK AND MINDY, THE UNAUTHORIZED STORY. A long time fan of Marshall's oeuvre, Roebuck was thrilled to yet another leap into the world of Bio pics.Aside from his numerous on camera projects, Daniel has recently lent his voice to two animated films. In the first, CHRISTMAS IS HERE AGAIN, Daniel plays an elf named Paul Rocco. Roebuck is also producing the 2007 release. The second film is THE HAUNTED WORLD OF ELSUPERBEASTO. In it, Daniel reprises his role of Morris Green, from Rob Zombie's THE DEVIL'S REJECTS. Although many actors have played the same character in 2 different movies, this may be the first time that one project was live action and the second film was animated! In 2005 Roebuck settled back into series television when he joined the cast of LOST in the last three episodes of the acclaimed series' first season. Daniel played the misunderstood Dr. Leslie Arzt and made TV history when he exploded on camera in the season finale!Roebuck has been a familiar face on television over the last 20 years, he was a regular for three seasons on the evergreen hit drama, MATLOCK, portraying attorney 'Cliff Lewis," the junior partner of the law firm headed by Andy Griffith's beloved character, 'Ben Matlock.' Interestingly, his landing the role was the fulfillment of a promise made several years earlier with his first appearance on "Matlock" in its inaugural season. At that time, Roebuck was told that Griffith had been so impressed with his work that he would be back as a regular on the show. It took five seasons, two more guest shots as different characters, and a change of networks, but Griffith kept his promise and Roebuck indeed became a series regular. In the fall of 2003 Mr. Roebuck returned to series television as Pete Peterson in A MINUTE WITH STAN HOOPER, Fox TV's new comedy starring Norm MacDonald. In the series Roebuck portrayed a gay owner of the local diner where much of the action took place.Audiences will also remember Daniel for his many unforgettable guest star roles on television over the years. Grateful that he's never been typecast Roebuck has played cops to crooks and everything in between. Some of his memorable characters include a super villain attempting world domination on LOIS AND CLARK, THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN, a Romulan on STAR TREK, an Army lieutenant on THE WEST WING, a Catholic Priest on ANY DAY NOW, a sex addict on SIX FEET UNDER, a distraught husband on ER and a fleeing mob accountant on MONK. Other recent credits include NAVY NCIS, GHOST WHISPERER, CSI, BOSTON LEGAL, LAW AND ORDER and DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and CLOSE TO HOME.However it was a turn as the gun wielding crazy,

The message has always been to stand for peace, love, and happiness. For legendary singer songwriter, FELIX CAVALIERE, making people feel good is primary to his illustrious 50-year career that includes the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Songwriter Hall of Fame, Vocal Group Hall of Fame, and Grammy Hall of Fame. Few artists can claim they defined a generation; FELIX CAVALIERE continues to remind us to keep listening for the world's beauty. The classically trained pianist, born in Pelham, New York, idolized Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, and Sam Cooke. FELIX CAVALIERE embraced the Hammond Organ and pioneered a fresh, rock and roll sound. Upon leaving Syracuse University to form the Escorts, and become a backup musician for Joey Dee and the Starliters and later Sandy Scott, who knew that his legendary next stop would be the beginning of an illustrious hall of fame career. Early in 1965, FELIX CAVALIERE formed the ‘Young Rascals' with Dino Danelli, Eddie Brigati, and Gene Cornish. That October, they caught the attention of promoter/manager Sid Bernstein with their high-energy set at Long Island's elite club, Barge. Signed to Atlantic Records, and now called The Rascals, the mega hit “Good Lovin'” struck No. 1 in February 1966. They followed suit with a string of hits like “I've Been Lonely Too Long,” “Groovin'(No. 1 in 1967), “How Can I Be Sure,” “A Girl Like You,” “A Beautiful Morning,” and “People Got to Be Free” (No. 1 in 1968). The Rascals are considered the best ‘blue-eyed soul' group to come out of the 1960s, as well as one of the groups with the most record sales. By the early 70s, The Rascals experimented with more jazz-influenced sounds, and moved to Columbia Records. The Rascals disbanded in 1972. FELIX CAVALIERE's solo career thrived during this decade. He released his self-titled debut album with Todd Rundgren at the producer helm. His follow-up albums were Destiny (1974), Castles in the Air (1979) (Castle in the Air produced another Top 40 hit – “Only a Heart Sees” reached No. 2), Dreams in Motion (1994) and in 2008 he collaborated with Stax guitar legend, Steve Cropper, on the Grammy-nominated Nudge it Up a Notch and again in 2010 with Midnight Flyer. FELIX CAVALIERE calls Nashville home base, where he is constantly collaborating and writing new material. He's also finishing his memoir and has an active tour schedule with FELIX CAVALIERE'S RASCALS.
