What is really political art? What is the relation between art and hegemony? And how to be an uncompromising antifascist in a complex, multipolar world? To discuss these deep question, we are joined by Nora Sternfeld, an independent curator and Professor of Art Education at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg. Expect no clear-cut, simple answers, but in-depth discussions about the opposition between simplistic complexity and complex simplicity, para-institutionality, counter-monuments, sober coalition-building, and the notion of propaganda. Please join us in the labyrinth of concepts, because it will be worth your while. Duckrabbits Talk Back is a podcast about postartistic antifascism, hosted by Aria Spinelli, Kuba Szreder, and Sepp Eckenhaussen. It was inspired by the comic treatise Duckrabbits Unveiled: A Sneak Peek at the Postartistic Theory and Practice (2025): https://networkcultures.org/blog/publication/duckrabbits-unveiled-a-sneak-peek-at-the-postartistic-theory-and-practice This episode is hosted by Kuba Szreder and Sepp Eckenhaussen Editing and production by Anielek Niemyjski Cover art by Kacper Greń Jingle by Olka Dąbrowska Amsterdam, Institute of Network Cultures, 2026

AI is rewriting the rules of product discovery, and brands that aren't optimized for algorithms risk becoming invisible. The Taste Radio team explores how AI is reshaping retail and marketing, unpacks a proposed class action lawsuit over protein labeling claims, and explains why early-stage founders should build with mainstream consumers – not just niche audiences – in mind. Show notes: 0:20: Fourth & Over. Don't Let Claude Do All The Work. You Need A Lawyer. Think Big. Ahh, That Was Nice. – After some lighthearted banter about summer already being over, the team explores how AI is reshaping product discovery. They highlight the growing importance of strong product data, third-party validation, and authentic brand storytelling while warning against overreliance on AI-generated content. They also discuss a proposed lawsuit against The Only Bean over protein claims, examining increased scrutiny around functional nutrition messaging and the need for brands to carefully evaluate packaging claims. Finally, the team examines the challenge of creating products that are both distinctive and broadly appealing, using TalkBack's spicy shortbread cookies as a case study. They argue that brands seeking mass-market success must balance originality with accessible positioning and clear consumer benefits. Brands in this episode: MadeGood, Bobo's, Waku, Vermouth Mist, Four Loko, The Only Bean, Huel, OWYN, Kodiak, TalkBack, BodyArmor, Daily Crunch, Magic Chocolate, Dr. Bronner's, Maazah, Datefix, Greater Than

What a cracker of a trip. Five days, eight blokes, 6150km and a shitload of fireworks. What could have possibly gone wrong? We recap our trip to Dundee for Territory Day/Cracker Night, the one night a year you're allowed to legally set off fireworks in Australia. We cover the highlights of the trip, the banter between both the Alpha Ute and the Deadass Bus and the wildest stories from all the stops including Katherine, Mataranka, the border and much more. It was the wildest trip the group has ever been on so far and there was plenty of mishaps that we couldn't wait to tell ya all about. We cover some of the iconic pubs we stopped at on the way during Pub Of The Week, followed by the usual segments and even an in person photo we captured at the border for Queefta Of The Week. Talk Back to MeJust like a bad toupee, we can fool ourselves into thinking that we are good at detecting disinformation. But like propaganda, a good piece of fake hair is difficult to detect. If taken to extremes, our attempts at discerning truth from manipulations can either lead to blissful ignorance, or monomania. While Disinformation is a dirty word in the realm of politics, it has a more specific meaning in the Intelligence Community. While pundits and politicians toss it around as a buzzword desperate for recognition, for working professionals, Disinformation is a form of covert action where false information is deliberately injected into a target community to produce a desired result. But even adherence to a specific definition doesn't protect one from falling to the Toupee fallacy. Today's Talkback - Gas Price Gouging
When you think about it, the statement "I hope…" is almost always about something external happening that may or may not directly affect you, but is certainly in your universe. You have no control over "I hope". The results of "I hope" are as random as a flip of the coin. In the context of your art and your creative business, please, pretty please, kill hope and find your faith. Damn it felt good to have a Cold Brew over the weekend. Almost 3 hours of the highest quality dribble recorded the night before we venture up to the Territory for Cracker Night. Talk Back to MeWhen was the last time you heard someone talk about a bright future? Not just for themselves, but for the United States, or the West? Chances are, if you are like me, you cannot remember a time in adulthood where any source of optimism really shined through the darkness. And although that may be a bleak outlook, it isn't the end. Fatalism is a worldview, less about pessimism, and more about fate, where something, be it God, Science, or demographics ultimately determine the future. And while fatalism as a worldview has begun to creep in again, it's not the first time. Instead, some of the greatest thinkers and theologians of history existed in a time where fatalism was dominant, both in the culture around them, as well as their own writings. --Up your helmet camo game: pickup the REDACTED x AXL Squid Scrim Kit at axladvanced.comSupport the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

What does your voice give away before you've finished a sentence? Dr. Larry Barsh talks with Dr. Chris Montgomery, a dialectologist at the University of Sheffield, about the verdicts we reach in half a second — educated or backward, polished or rough, one of us or not from around here — and why nobody believes they have an accent.Montgomery leads the UK Swear Map, a national survey of how Britain actually curses, built in partnership with the satirical arts collective Modern Toss (creators of the push-button "periodic table of swearing"). From the Portsmouth insult "din low" to the predictable ways listeners rate northern English speakers as friendlier and southern speakers as more competent, the conversation traces how language signals belonging, class, and power. Then it turns to the present moment: a U.S. president whose public profanity has climbed from roughly 40% of speeches to the low 90s, what that swearing performs for its audience, and whether it shifts the Overton window of acceptable public speech. The episode closes on AI — voices scrubbed of accent and profanity, the uncanny valley of a synthetic regional Siri, the loneliness epidemic, and why face-to-face conversation matters more than ever.Topics covered- Why everyone thinks they're the one without an accent- The half-second sorting: competence vs. warmth- The UK Swear Map and the two classes of regional cursing- Modern Toss and the periodic table of swearing- Presidential profanity as authenticity, transgression, and spectacle- Profanity and the Overton window of public discourse- AI voices, the uncanny valley, and accent erasure- Regulation, children, and unregulated online spacesGuest: Dr. Chris Montgomery, University of Sheffield. The Swear Map is expected to go live in autumn 2026 — find his recent papers via the University of Sheffield website.SummaryA linguist who studies how Britain swears joins The Enlightened Cynic to explain a quieter truth underneath the profanity: we judge each other constantly by sound, in a fraction of a second, and we almost never notice we're doing it. The conversation runs from hyperlocal insults nobody outside one city understands, through what presidential cursing actually performs for a polarized audience, to the irony that AI voices strip out the very vernacular richness that makes us human — and why that should worry us more than any swear word.
CW: Reference to previous episode's risk of drowning/storm at sea at 2:04 to 2:12, and 18:21 to 18:30. Please skip this if it would be triggering for you. As always, your safety and enjoyment are important to us. After a turbulent night of storms, the party has abruptly arrived on an unfamiliar beach. The ship has been beached and Captain Lucy is furious that the trio has become a sign of bad luck for the crew. She demands they head into the jungle to find clean water and scout the area while the crew tends to the wounded and she tries to determine where they are. Trix heads to the trees with Elaith and Rou walking below them. They quickly come upon a stream and, after having their fill of the cool water, they fill the waterskins and sacks that had been provided to them. They return to find Lucy and Sam poring over maps and it doesn't take them long to realize the pair have no idea where the ship has landed. After distributing the water, the party heads back out to begin scouting as they'd been instructed. While exploring, Trix notices a flash of light in the distance and the group follows it to find the trees giving way to reveal overgrown ruins below. This ruined settlement sits on the shoreline with a neglected dock, and beyond the ruins they spy a mountain where the glinting light seems to shine from a large, domed structure. It isn't until they head into the ruins that they find they're not alone.
