After a week's absence, Mike and Johnson are back! They drop by Counselor Troi's office for a quick visit to talk about what's been going on in their personal lives, before sharing their thoughts on S3E2 of Discovery, "Far From Home." Reactions were positive for this episode - while not too much happened plot wise, it was great just to catch up with the crew of the Discovery. And is parasitic ice really a thing? Star Trek: Discovery – Season 3 Episode 2 – Far From Home We’re back! Brian and Ruthie talk through Star Trek: Discovery, Season 3 Episode 2, titled Far From Home. Like the premiere, this episode was written by Michelle Paradise & Jenny Lumet & Alex Kurtzman and directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi. SPOILERS AHEAD!!! If you haven’t seen this episode of Star Trek: Discovery, stop right now!!! Go watch it, then come back!!! We’ll be here for you! Welcome… to the future!!! The USS Discovery has arrived in the 32nd Century, but it had a bumpy ride. It lands on an inhospitable planet, known only by its inhabitants as The Colony. Several people have their bells rung, Detmer especially. There wasn’t really any payoff to Detmer, but we might see something from this in future episodes. Hazmat clean-up on aisle 5!!! Jett Reno is back, and boy was she funny this episode! She had some of the best lines ever heard on this show. Bad guys This episode had a bit of a Western feel, with a barroom brawl and a villain. More to follow… Spot the References… Again, there were a lot of references this week, though not as many as last week. I used this Den of Geek article to help find them. Talking Through Eye of the Beholder & The New Frontier Fear the Walking Dead is back with Season 3, and we’re back, too! And we want to welcome new co-host Kyle to the podcast! We hope you’ll all give him a warm welcome!!! Okay, so it’s me, Kyle, writing this… LOL. But I know you will all be nice to me. Ruthie will be back for The Walking Dead. This season is off to a rockin’ (no pun intended) start and ‘WOW’ was that a heart-wrenching surprise at the start of Episode two. Brian and Kyle, take your Awesome Sauce feedback, mix it in with a few crumbles of Travis’s freshly crumbled cinder-blocks, and stir it with a little Madison’s eyeball laden spoon and out comes a Willy ‘rat fink’ toady souffle for you all to feast on and enjoy. Send in your feedback! Remember to leave us your feedback for next week’s episode, Fear the Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 3, titled TEOTWAWKI. S3E1 Eye of the Beholder got a 1.18 in the 18-49 demographic, with 3.109 million viewers. S3E2 The New Frontier got a 1.04 in the 18-49 with 2.698 million viewers. Compare that to last season’s premiere, this is way down from 3.08 and 6.674 million viewers. Comparing to the last two episodes that covered the last season finale, it’s down from 1.59 and 3.671 million viewers for S2E14 and 1.26 and 3.048 million viewers for S2E15. Other Fun Stuff Completely Unrelated to Eye of the Beholder & The New Frontier Brian’s been asking for some help. Brian’s laptop had been having some hard drive issues while he and Ruthie recorded The Walking Dead 7B, so he started a GoFundMe campaign to help him out to buy a new solid-state drive (SSD), asking listeners if they could help him out a bit and donate to help pay for it. Well, over the hiatus, he found a deal on an SSD and put it on his credit card. So, he now has the drive, but he could still use help since he’s still paying for it. We appreciate all of your support! We have the best listeners in all of podcasting! Please remember to subscribe to us on Apple Podcasts. Subscribing to us helps us move up in the rankings

Talking Poofy (Scott Brennan, Adam Richard, Toby Sullivan) present The Poofcast 47 (S3E2) guest-starring Harley Breen, Colin Batrouney and special guest star Wes Snelling as Aunt Clara. Dear Talking Poofy addresses a question from episode 32 (unlocked for Bonus Subscribers, if you want to go back down memory lane) about the equipment needed for sex. Just like a TAFE course, Gary from Port Douglas has some minimum requirements for entry, and things descend into madness from there. Award-winning comedian Harley Breen is locked into the Interrogaytion chamber, Wes Snelling is starting to hate the segment he came up with, and gives us a very perfunctory attempt at Where's Wes? and we catch up with our Sexpert, Colin Batrouney to talk about why so many young men are testing positive to HIV. All this, and Toby's utter confusion about how Season 3 snuck up on him. WARNING: The Poofcast contains coarse language, explicit discussions of sex acts, and the tragic misuse of candles.
