Star Trek: Discovery – Season 3 Episode 4 – Forget Me Not We’re back but not all of us. Unfortunately, Ruthie cannot join us again this week due to her power still being out at the time of recording, so Brian is joined by LT from NC for the second week in a row to talk through Star Trek: Discovery, Season 3 Episode 4, titled Forget Me Not. This episode was written by Alan McElroy & Chris Silvestri & Anthony Maranville and directed by Hanelle M. Culpepper, who directed the first three episodes of Star Trek: Picard. SPOILERS AHEAD!!! If you haven’t seen this episode of Star Trek: Discovery, stop right now!!! Go watch it, then come back!!! We’ll be here for you! Trill We arrive on the Trill homeworld and, unlike Earth, the world is welcome to Starfleet. What they weren’t so welcome to was a symbiont in a non-Trill host. We both enjoyed most of what we saw in this story, although it did have a few weak points. Thanksgiving Day Dinner, Starfleet Style! One of the more amusing parts of this story was the Saru dinner, a sort of Thanksgiving day festivity on the Discovery, followed by a holo-movie. Zora is alive! We finally see something from the second Short Trek, Calypso. Zora, the artificial intelligence we see interact with Craft in that Short Trek, emerges when the computer does not give Saru good recommendations. Limiting dairy and therapeutic coloring books aren’t going to do it for this crew! Spot the References… Again, there were a lot of references this week, more than last week. I used this Den of Geek article to help find them. Will they accept and affirm that this is the work of God? The questions are for all of us too (especially the religious leaders among us): Will we set aside our insecurities and our defensiveness? Will we admit that we aren’t really in charge? Or will we grasp at our illusion of power? Will we reject this sign and try to silence them? The weird thing about houses is that they almost always look like nothing is happening inside of them, even though they contain most of our lives. I wondered if that was sort of the point of architecture. - John Green The post S3E4 – Weather and Architecture appeared first on Writing Roots.

Talking Through 100 No, it’s not The 100, the show Alycia Debnam-Carey was on before The Walking Dead, but it was a really good episode! Daniel Salazar is Back!!! (And Ofelia is not). Join us as we discuss the ups and downs of Daniel’s psyche, his pain, his thirst for forgiveness, and like the Holy Intervention of a Lightning Strike. Ruthie has graced us with her divine presence to give her insights of this episode and season so far. We have two new characters, Efrain and Lola, Strand is still trying to con his way out (but this time he missed the mark), and all this talk about water is making me thirsty! So sit back, open up that can of Spam and wash it down with a tall glass of Agua. There are a lot of things to discuss. Send in your feedback! We love the feedback we are getting from our listeners and we want more. So keep it coming! Please leave us feedback for S3E5, titled Burning in Water, Drowning in Flame …but please don’t ask us ‘Where’s Ofelia’. We don’t know. But we do know she better show up soon. Or we’ll Riot. j/k Ratings hit a new low… 100 got a 0.94 in the 18-49 demographic, with 2.396 million viewers. That’s down from last week‘s 1.02 and 2.504 million viewers. Those numbers are an all-time low for the series. Other Fun Stuff Completely Unrelated to 100! Brian’s been asking for some help. Brian’s laptop had been having some hard drive issues while he and Ruthie recorded The Walking Dead 7B, so he started a GoFundMe campaign to help him out to buy a new solid-state drive (SSD), asking listeners if they could help him out a bit and donate to help pay for it. Well, over the hiatus, he found a deal on an SSD and put it on his credit card. So, he now has the drive, but he could still use help since he’s still paying for it. We appreciate all of your support! We have the best listeners in all of podcasting! Please remember to subscribe to us on Apple Podcasts. Kelly & Tom thoroughly enjoy recapping S3E4 of Peaky Blinders (the Entourage or Walking Dead of the UK, depending on who you’re talking to), one of the show’s best hours. They discuss the highly upsetting 1953 film Lili, the Shelby women finally getting their cool af day in the sun, Kelly’s awareness of Latin, Tom’s remembrance of a Dunkin’ Donuts campaign, and mashing up Peaky Blinders with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Talking Poofy (Scott Brennan, Adam Richard, Toby Sullivan) present The Poofcast 49 (S3E4) guest-starring Nath Valvo, Mother Paul Horan and special guest star Wes Snelling as Alexis Carrington Colby Dexter Colby Dexter.Dear Talking Poofy brings us a tale of woe from The Admiral, who joins us on the phone to ask why he is always the one in his gaggle of poofs that is left holding the bill. Nath Valvo makes a welcome return to The Poofcast to tell us all about his appalling behaviour with people he's met on Grindr.Wes Snelling is not even trying this week in Where's Wes? which is a delicious counterpoint to Scott who is trying too hard in Scott's Joke Corner (very sharp edges this week), and Mother Paul Horan returns to school us all in Poofstory, namely telling us about Gay Mayors.
