This week Earl and Jurek take control of a tiny wizard as they play Solomon's Key on the NES! This game seems like it should be really fun but, like so many games of the time, the difficulty makes having fun almost impossible! The game looks and controls fine, but the music is a little lacking. The guys also field a very interesting discussion question! Also, the news of Chadwick Boseman's passing broke while this episode was being recorded, so the guys take a little time to talk about it. Come have a drink with us! WAKANDA FOREVER!! NOTE: This episode was recorded on Friday August 28, 2020. Since then, Jurek got married! Be sure to tweet him your congratulations @aktirak! Thanks for listening, Revelers! ~Earl

We catch up with Swedish guest Mats from YouTube channel Gears of Games and chat about the Arcade Version and it’s many conversions (and rip-offs).The boys are faced with a tough choice for there favourite and also the version getting the Golden Turd Award is not straightforward either. Oh, and Troddlers.Troddlers is best described as Lemmings meets Solomon's Key - guide tiny stupid Troddlers towards the exit by placing and removing blocks of various flavors. It features 100 single player levels and 50 co-op levels, plus a completely unexplored War mode. Starring: Rudie, Shrug, Tulpa, AutomaticTiger, and VastleCania
A new third-party challenger has appeared! Tecmo arrives on NES with two simultaneous launches, both of which more or less fall into the puzzle-platformer genre. Solomon's Key and Mighty Bomb Jack are full of arcane secrets and high difficulty levels. Just the kind of thing a growing video game boy needs in his diet.

We talk about little kids behind their backs. For probably too long. Tyler issues a "Key Quiz". We take a few calls. We thank a few people. We all have a good time. It's the "Key" to a good time!

Happy Halloween folks! This week's podcast has nothing to do with Halloween because we here at WATP don't plan ahead like that. Instead, we reviewed a video game music podcast called The Legacy Music Hour. Did you know that people listen to video game music outside of when they play the games? Yes, they do and they have a podcast all about it too. Kevin and Karl enter the world of VGM and can't wait to return to their own home planet. Kevin confesses his love for Solomon's Key and Karl confesses his love for Fish Caves. Yep, it's another WATP comin' atcha folks.
Podcasten med gamla minnen och videospel. Det sistnämnda i form av två pusselspel till NES. Minnen i form av en bok skriven av alla karaktärer som har figurerat i den här podcasten. Tack för oss och tack som fan för att ni har lyssnat.
FEATURING: We start the first segment with our thoughts on the Feb 13th Nintendo Direct, before launching into New Business with Jon's impressions of Solomon's Key, and everyone else's impressions of Bravely Default!Listener Mail touches on region free systems, how we got into the "biz", and our feelings about Nintendo's console desigh philosophy.
This week marks our return to a regular posting schedule. In this episode's first segment, we discuss Zelda (Wii), F.E.A.R (360), the Wii Virtual Console versions of Solomon's Key, Sonic, Bonk and Mario 64, Red Steel (Wii), Call of Duty 3 (Wii), and we get a brief update on Greg's adventures with the PS3.Next up we talk about the Wii. It's only two weeks old and they've sold over a million units between the US and Japan (and releases in other areas of the world later this week). What do Nintendo and third parties have to do to be successful on Wii? (Answer: original IP, not so many ports.) Is the high cost of development for PS3 games going to benefit Wii? Also, we touch on Wii mishaps and the pictures/video that have been posted on www.wiihaveaproblem.com.Segment three is all about Virtual Console and Xbox Live Arcade. Why haven't more third-party publishers taken advantage of these downloadable services with original content? Why do we rely on Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony for this content when there are third parties that could be doing stuff but AREN'T?Wrapping it up is a final segment where we reminisce about the PlayStation 2. Now that the next generation has debuted, it's time to look back on the leader of the last gen. digg_url = 'http://www.digg.com/podcasts/Player_One_Podcast'; digg_bgcolor = '#FFCC99'; digg_skin = 'compact';
