The power of God's word lies in how long we hold onto it. Are you in it for the long run? True growth comes from a lasting commitment to keeping His word alive in our hearts. Distractions and challenges may try to uproot it, but keep it before you, let it work in you over time, and watch it produce.

The Parable of the Sower
Witness to Yesterday (The Champlain Society Podcast on Canadian History)
Greg Marchildon talks to James Urry about his book, On Stony Ground: Russländer Mennonites and the Rebuilding of Community in Grunthal, published by UTP in February 2024. On Stony Ground presents a historical ethnographic account of a generation of Mennonites from the Soviet Union who, following Russia's revolution and civil war, immigrated to Manitoba during the 1920s. James Urry examines how they came to terms with a new land and with their new neighbours, including other Mennonites, Ukrainians, French Canadians, and Indigenous Peoples. The book discusses the impact of the Great Depression and how the immigrants struggled with their identity in Canada as Hitler and Stalin rose to power in Germany and the USSR. It reveals the immigrants' desire to maintain their faith, language, and culture while encouraging their children to take advantage of an education conducted mainly in English. On Stony Ground explores how prosperity following the Second World War helped the immigrants to build a community in conjunction with others, including Mennonites and non-Mennonites, and to accept their new home in Canada. James Urry is an anthropologist and historian who has published widely on Mennonites and the history of anthropology. In the Parable of the Sower is a truth that Abraham applied to change his ground and believe God in every area. God gave Abraham promises that he was blessed to be a blessing, and He came to trust God in every area of his life. Pastor Dawn highlighted Abraham's faithfulness to deal with each area of fear and doubt to become full of faith and change his ground. Abraham believed in God and so He counted it to him as righteousness.

The Parable of the Sower is told by Jesus to describe the different ways people receive the Word of God (the seed). Adams Allison takes us through each of the parables to teach on the seed that was sown and the importance of the application of those parables to our daily lives. Your duty, my duty, our major duty as believers is to preserve the integrity of the seed, and the fruit will take care of the seed. The seed is what is being contended for. It is a reunion of sorts as Ms. Jeannie joins Whitney and Quincy just like the "good ole days" from our time in radio together each week. In this special edition of Voice in The Kingdom, The Podcast - we give ministry updates and take some time in Luke 8 looking at the parable of the sower in what will become at least a two-part teaching.
As we continue through the soils of the parable of the sower, we see the stony ground Christian, who shoots up quickly, but they do not have deep enough roots to endure persecution. The stony ground will receive the gospel with joy and gladness; they have a great new, first love zeal for the church. […]

The Word Comes - The Word of God is the incorruptible seed that brings forth Jesus Christ in our hearts or the ground of which there are 4 types. Way Side, Stony Ground, Thorns, Good Ground. Mark 4:2-9. 2. Faith Comes - By hearing and hearing the Word of God - Without Faith, it is impossible to please God. Romans 10:17, Hebrews 11:6. 3. Satan Comes - Satan cometh immediately to steal the Word out of Your Heart. Satan is a thief. Mark 4:15, John 10:10. He comes to see what you will do with the Word. To try or test your faith. Do you really believe the Word of God? 4. Patience Comes - Hupomone is constancy. You must stay constant in the Word and not change your confession or homologia which means to speak the same as the Word. Do not let your Soul move you from the position of the Word. In your patience (hupomone) possess ye your soul. Luke 21:19. 5. Experience Comes - If you stay constant on the Word of God, you will experience God from Promise to Performance. Romans 5:4. 6. You must try whether your affections are only superficial, or whether they reach the bottom of your heart by their effect, by inquiring whether they have such power upon your heart as to dispose it to give up yourself to God without reserve. Do your affections of sorrow for sin go so deep into your heart, as thoroughly to dispose you to renounce and forsake all sin, and utterly deny every lust-
Luke 8:4-8 4 And when a great multitude had gathered, and they had come to Him from every city, He spoke by a parable:5 “A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down, and the birds of the air devoured it.6 Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture.7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it.8 But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold.” When He had said these things He cried, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”In the parable of the sower in Luke 8, the world is likened to a simple seed. A seed can be defined as a germ or a reproductive source of anything. In the first stage of our reproductive process—changing from sinful human beings into perfect reflections of Jesus Christ—how we receive Him into our hearts, our daily lives, and our minds is of the utmost importance, and we need to get a good grasp on this.

The nineteenth session of the "Divine Healing Series" dissects the parable of the sower in the context of faith for divine healing and talks about the sower and the Word, about the characteristics of those that don't hear the Word, of those from the wayside ground category, the stony ground, and the thorny ground.
Message by Apostle Vincent Loate "The Sower and the Stony Ground: The Wayside Seed. Preached at Emmanuel Christian Church, Arcadia Campus On the 3rd of February 2019
I have heard the parable of the sower my whole life, and thought I was one who was receiving the word on fruitful ground. But after my experience in one of my meditations and prayer I was shown a different meaning to this parable that has once again shifted my interaction with my whole world. In this pod I talk about the literal past and present conditions of this Earth. Also what I was shown, through the parable of the sower, in how I can contribute to the healing of it in a more conscious way!

In today’s broadcast, we will be considering one of these parables – the story of the sower and the seed. The sower threw his seed on different types of ground – hard, stony, and thorny. But the crop in each case failed. Not that there was anything wrong with the seed – no, the problem was with heart of the listener. Only when falling on GOOD ground, could the seed germinate, take root and grow. Only then could there be fruit for God. On what kind of ground will the seed, the Word of God, to you fall today?
Week 2 talks about the Stony Ground in our lives and how to get rid of it.

In the first of two messages on the Parable of the Sower, Elder David Wise considers those who cannot hear the word of God since they have not been given the ears to hear. From the parable we also consider the perils and difficulties of the children of God in the way side and the stony ground, and how we can strengthen ourselves to withstand when tribulation and persecution comes in our lives.
