In this episode, I interview one of my favorite DJs I've met in my DJ journey - DJ Hapa. This dude is next level on so many fronts. He is a former recording artist, runs a DJ school, hosts the podcast, A Tribe Called Dad, and still DJs himself while also raising his 3 kids alongside his wife, T Lopez. We talk about the transition from no kids to kids as a DJ, the scarcity mindset of losing gigs, and he shares some of the things he has learned as a DJ dad. DJs: Interested in Heavy Hits Music Pool? Whenever I want that "picture perfect" mom life that I see floating around online, I remember what my good friend and talented photographer, Katee Grace, said... And It instantly shifts my mindset into a state of gratitude for the craziness I birthed.
This week we’re talking to T Lopez, recording artist and entertainer with 20 years of experience. This mama of two gave us one of the most spiritual interviews we have had in awhile. We talk about how T needed to take time to figure out what her next business venture was, how she exercises her faith, and how she’s helping her daughters shape their identities and sharing her journey of her new podcast. Our interview with T came at the right time in our lives, and we hope you feel the same clarity we did! Hey y'all! Welcome back to another episode! I am so excited because I get to interview the one... the only... T Lopez! For those of you that do not know T is kind of a big deal. She is a recording artist, writer, television personality, producer, podcast host, empowering the Latinx community and women worldwide, mother, wife, and just all around superwoman! I met T on Instagram after I saw her post about family and how she juggles her family (which she puts first) and working in the entertainment industry. She focuses on helping working mothers with her two podcasts Mama Morsels and Mom Life Yo. She always has such a powerful and uplifting message and its awesome to see her be such an advocate for putting family first. Her husband DJ Hapa (who has an awesome podcast named A Tribe Called Dad) and her are raising two world changers and it is awesome to see them interact on social media. I got the pleasure to talk to T about a variety of topics. We discussed disconnecting when we are away with our significant others and how that can be a hard thing to do. We also talked about how family is the most important thing in our lives and how we try to model everything around that. She also gives some tips as to the state of the entertainment industry and what someone needs to do in order to be successful now. It was so amazing and refreshing to talk to someone that actually gets it! Trying to build up the Latinx community, trying to empower mothers, and making sure she is still present in her daughters lives! Guys... this is a great podcast and I highly recommend you listen to it. If you guys like this then please like, subscribe, and share! While Mother’s Day is a day of celebration for many, we know it can be bittersweet for our sisters who have lost children, have lost mothers, have strained relationships with their mothers or their children, are walking through infertility, or are walking through a variety of challenges unique to their motherhood. As we come out of Mother’s Day weekend, we’ve compiled an audio Mother’s Day card containing words of encouragement and support from mamas within this community. Join Amy Balentine ( @youmadememom), Kelley Ramsey ( @waiting.in.hope), Kristen Ironside ( @k_ironside), Maci Johnson ( @macecakes11), Sarah Rieke ( @sarah_rieke), T Lopez ( @officialtlopez), Holly Colonna ( @movemoregirls), and Kristin Hernandez ( @sunlightindecember) as we each share what God has been laying on our hearts in this season. We hope you walk away from this conversation feeling loved, supported, and known--not just by your sisters, but by a loving Father who sees you, even when you feel forgotten. Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers. To the ones who ache with empty arms and the ones who feel as if their hands could not be more full. To the ones who have carried babies in their hearts, their wombs, or their prayers. To the ones who feel overlooked or unknown. To the ones who carry the pain of losing their own mother. To the ones who view this day with joy, the ones who approach this day with dread, and the ones who feel a complicated mixture of both. No matter what motherhood looks like for you, this one's for you. We love you.

When it rains it POURS and takes your patience down the drain with the runoff! This has been my week. And here's what helped.
We forget how important the small wins are. If you can't think of any, I've got some for you!
Besides knowing the daily list of what my kids are grateful for, I needed a deeper sense of what was REALLY going on in my kids' lives at school or even inside their heads. This small exercise blew those doors wide open, not just for them, but for me.
How am I qualified for this motherhood gig?? Spoiler alert: I'M NOT.
What do you do when one of your children opposes you in every way? I refuse to have a "black sheep" in my family, but there were a few things I had to realize first...
