Ecc 12:1-8 is a poetic and urgent call to remember God during one's youth before the physical and mental decline of old age sets in. We'll discover that Solomon uses vivid metaphors of aging to illustrate the body and mind's breakdown before death. He'll conclude with the somber but inevitable reality of the body returning to dust and the spirit returning to God, reinforcing the "meaninglessness" of life lived without Him. Thanks for listening. God bless you! To find out more about our church please go to www.whccnb.org.

Through the years of pastoring people and leading a local church, I discovered people wanted help to live life effectively. Whenever we asked them how we could help them, they would bring up the subjects of marriage and living purposefully. In last week's podcast, I discussed marriage. In fact, podcast 60 was titled "7 Insights For A Meaningful and Long-Lasting Marriage." If you missed it, please go back and listen to it or watch it. Through forty-eight years of marriage with my wife Jeana, we have learned about meaningful and long-lasting marriage. Therefore, I shared seven insights about this subject that will help you. In fact, you could take these seven insights about marriage and share them with your Sunday School class or small group, and the hour would be filled with discussion and insight. I believe you could do the same with the content I am about to share with you, “Your Life Matters: How to Live With Purpose.” Your time together in any setting and with any number of people would become meaningful with discussion and overflowing with questions. I have found this true: You cannot live spiritually fit if you do not live purposefully. Furthermore, without purpose, you will live life aimlessly. Hear me clearly: People want to know what matters in their lives. As a man in his sixties, I want to know that my life matters. I also want to know that I have a purpose and want to live each day purposefully.I want to give you Four Dynamic Statements About Purpose. Each of these will help you live purposefully.

Many of us are so busy keeping up with life, that we forget to check in with ourselves. We follow the rules, meet expectations and strive for success – yet still feel disconnected, stuck or unfulfilled. True purpose can feel elusive, like something we're always searching for but never quite finding. This week, I'm joined by Kirsty Gallagher to explore how reconnecting with who you truly are can lead to a life of greater meaning, alignment, and joy. Kirsty is a renowned meditation and yoga teacher, a spiritual coach, and Sunday Times bestselling author of several books - including her latest, Your Cosmic Purpose. In our conversation, we discuss: Why your true purpose is to be yourself, not to chase status, success or approval How to start listening to your own truth, even if you've spent a lifetime tuning in to everyone else's Why spending time in stillness is so important The role of discomfort and “internal conflict” as signs you're out of alignment Why trusting the timing of your life is essential and how your most painful experiences may be guiding you to greater clarity and purpose The importance of celebrating your progress How to reclaim your power by learning to make conscious, intentional choices - even when you are unable to change your external circumstances Throughout this conversation, Kirsty shares stories from her own journey, from corporate burnout to spiritual awakening, and offers practical tools to help you reconnect with the part of you that already knows the way. This conversation may feel a little different from others I have had on this podcast. It leans more into the emotional and spiritual aspects of health and healing, but if you listen with an open heart and mind, I truly believe there is something in it for everyone. At its core, it's a powerful reminder that you are the expert of your own life. Your truth matters. Your voice matters. And your purpose, however small or quiet it may seem right now, is already within you. Support the podcast and enjoy Ad-Free episodes. Dave turned that pain into purpose by founding The Invisible Enemy Foundation, advocating for veterans who were unknowingly put at risk. Tune in to hear how Dave's journey from silence to advocacy is helping bring justice to those still fighting invisible battles. Welcome to The Daily, where we go through the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every single day. We are one week away from starting the Gospel of Mark. Go to the website and grab the Scriptural Journal for this study so you can study along with us. Today, we're looking at Ecclesiastes 11:9-10: Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. Walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment. Remove vexation from your heart, and put away pain from your body, for youth and the dawn of life are vanity. — Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 Solomon gives a strong encouragement here: to enjoy your life. This isn't a call to reckless living—but to a joyful one. Life is short, and the days pass quickly. So don't waste them. But the freedom he describes comes with a boundary. He reminds us that everything we do—every diversion, every decision, every desire—is seen by God. And it will all be weighed. That's not meant to scare us. It's meant to ground us. God is not a killjoy; He's the One who gave us the gift of life. But He also cares how we use it. We're called to live with boldness and accountability. To enjoy life deeply and honor God fully. To chase good things—but not in a way that forgets the Giver. To pursue the desires of our heart—but also regulate those desires by his will. So what does that look like? It looks like joy without rebellion. Passion with wisdom. Zeal that's anchored in truth. It means dealing with the stuff that confuses our hearts—bitterness, anxiety, sin—and not letting it steal the true beauty of the moment. Then he adds to remove vexation and put away pain. In other words, don't let the weight of the world settle into your soul. Don't carry what you don't have to. Don't waste your youth—or your life—on what doesn't last. Enjoy your life. Honor your God. And let both shape the legacy you leave behind. And on to our last chapter of Ecclesiastes—chapter 12. #LiveWithPurpose, #JoyAndJudgment, #Ecclesiastes11 ASK THIS: Am I enjoying life or simply surviving it? How does the thought of God's judgment shape my daily decisions? What desires in my heart need more wisdom and accountability? What "vexation" or pain do I need to release to live freely? DO THIS: Enjoy your life today in a way that honors the God who gave it to you. PRAY THIS: Father, thank You for the gift of life and the freedom to enjoy it. Help me live with joy and accountability, honoring You in everything I do. Amen. PLAY THIS: Joy In The Morning.

So excited to have Andy Archer with us today. He's a 27 year old Starting Pitcher for the Savannah Bananas. He tells us the journey through college, the dissapointment about the minor league draft, joining the workforce and then into how teaching a group of kids at Sunday School changed his life. As I talked with Andy, I put myself in his shoes and also thought about what his parents thought about the decisions he made in his life. -risks he took -surfing on lunch break -living a comfortable life vs living a life with purpose and using your God giving abilities -reading the Bible cover to cover -living away from all of his family and looking for ways to serve -how can you catch your kids imagination and be influenced by things that are good, true and beautiful Some questions to ponder: -when are times of life when someone can be depressed? -what do you do when you feel like your sin makes you not worthy of God's love? -what are some of the hardest words to say? Something I'm focused on is finding ways to have fun with my wife and daughters and also having fun while we are together. Whether we are playing sports, watching videos, doing houswork, going on an adventure day or just hanging out, it's important for me remember to have fun, laugh and connecting with my family. I wanted to record this podcast as a reminder for us dads to have FUN! Sometimes fun requires us to be uncomfortable. Andy talks about how he was below average dancer and one of the things he loves the most is the choreographed dancing that the Bananas do. He tells a cool story about doing the "Thunderstruck" dance. His story made me think about when I relax and am goofy with my family and let go of caring about being judged by other people. The Savannah Bananas are a lot of fun! Check them out in person with your family and on YouTube! Challenge: Have a conversation with one of your guy friends and read the same chapter of the Bible and discuss what each of you got out of it.
