Making TV history, the show features the largest transgender cast ever for a scripted series. Vanity Fair raved that “Angelica Ross steals many of her scenes as ‘Candy'” the brashest member of the ‘House of Abundance.' With a big dream ahead and an expensive degree required to achieve it, Angelica Ross decided to enlist in the Navy to access the GI Bill that would help make her dream possible. Having to hide her true identity as a trans woman in boot camp, Angelica struggled with the reality that the country's freedom she was willing to fight for wasn't willing to fight for her own. But she was tired of hiding and having to prove her worth to a world that didn't value her authentic self, so Angelica set out to live her own truth. She channeled her inner toughness to prove them all wrong by empowering the trans community along her journey to success in an unexpected career path. From the ground up, Miss Ross came across unique opportunities that would enable her to learn advanced technology skills and eventually lead to launching a nonprofit business: TransTech Social. From CSS to HTML, she learned how to manage and build websites that propelled her portfolio to new heights — including tapping into prime acting gigs that boosted her personal brand. The blueprint of Angelica's self-built success was transferred to helping others in the trans community discover it's own talents in the tech industry and getting access to the tools to make it happen. As the founder of TransTech, Miss Angelica Ross has a one-of-a-kind testimony of resiliency that continues to inspire trans folks to make their way into the tech world. About TransTech Enterprises:Founded in 2014 by Actress, Founder, and CEO Angelica Ross, TransTech Social Enterprises is an incubator for LGBTQIA+ Talent from marginalized communities. We're so, so excited to bring you this week's conversation with Brandon Kyle Goodman, an actor and producer who you probably know from the likes of ‘Modern Love' (yes, he's kissed Hot Priest) and ‘Feel the Beat'. But more recently, Brandon has been front and centre because of his viral videos on the topic of race, some of which have garnered millions of views. Brandon has been an incredibly instrumental person in our own anti-racism education, so we really wanted to speak to him now - 8 weeks after the murder of George Floyd and the start of the global movement that followed - about the concept of allyship fatigue, how to be an effective ally as opposed to just a ‘good' one, what it'll take to make real systemic change in Hollywood and beyond and how to keep this momentum going longterm. You can follow Brandon on Instagram here and donate to the organisations he mentions here: The Bail Project, The Innocence Project, TransTech Social Enterprises, Black Trans Travel Fund, The Okra Project. Angelica Ross is an actress, entrepreneur and activist. Angelica started her career in the Navy. Six months after joining, she requested and received an "uncharacterized" discharge under the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy, because she was harassed by enlisted men who coerced her into saying she was gay. After leaving The Navy, Angelica began her gender transition. Angelica then moved to Hollywood, Florida and worked as a model and escort until 2003. After that she started a web development and graphic design business. Angelica launched TransTech Social Enterprises, a nonprofit creative design firm that trains and contracts transgender and other workers. In 2016, Angelica reinvented her career again, and began her professional acting career when she was in the Emmy-nominated webseries, Her Story. These days Angelica portrays the character Candy Abundance in the 2018 Ryan Murphy-produced, FX series Pose. The series is incredibly historic as it features five transgender women of color as main characters.
