Welcome to your weekly dose of running motivation. On this episode, we speak to running coach (and Jake's 'new friend') Rory Horseman from Raced Coaching. Rory was targeting a personal best in this year's Virgin London Marathon of 2:45, until injury struck! Although clearly disappointed Rory has been coping well with the setback. His goal right now is to enjoy his running, rather than chasing times and smashing targets. AskJake: Each week, we'll take one of your questions and Jake will answer it. Today, we're talking about long run duration, when training for a 10k. See the full show notes & resources here: http://runningwithjake.com/plodcast

Following on from episode 1. ⠀ I talk about how I worked on my own mindset to overcome injury niggles and be prepared for the race, how grateful I was to run for a small Cambridge charity called ‘Please Take Me There' and achieve all 3 personal goals I set myself for the Virgin London Marathon 2019. Also how I went on to complete Milton Keynes Marathon 8 days later and finished the day off with an indoor Skydive (certainly loosened the muscles up!)⠀ ⠀ Thanks for listening ⠀ ⠀ If you enjoyed this episode then please like, subscribe and leave a review⠀ ⠀ Follow: ⠀ @nbefitPT on Instagram and Facebook @theplantedmindsetpodcast on Instagram ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Click on the link below to book your free call for Online Fitness Coaching with Nbefit⠀ https://natashaevans330333.typeform.com/to/SzZJPY⠀
EPISODE 3 - Bryony Gordon Bryony and I first met at the Virgin London Marathon 2017, meeting again a couple of weeks later after both attending an event called Walking Out Of Darkness. Once the event finished Bryony invited me and a few friends back to her place for a barbie and to drink a substantial amount of booze. As ever, once the lager jacket was on I got embarrassingly honest and over familiar and ended up telling the whole table a cringeworthy tale about a sexual encounter I'd had in my tent while on the walk around Britain. We've been friends ever since. This episode of the podcast took a while to arrange, mostly down to ridiculously full work schedules, but we finally managed to lock it down last week in London. In our conversation Bryony and I discuss her relationship with OCD, the mental health movement of 2017 and a whole bunch of other stuff that I found, and hope you find, both compelling and thought provoking. Bryony's third book 'Eat. Drink. Run.' is out today, and if you already have a copy then this podcast will probably work as a good little intro to what it's about and to Bryony as a person: brazen, judicious and fucking hilarious.
