One is bottom and just lost to a team that hasn't won in four months, the other was just beaten 5-0 at home. On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Wolves fan Bradley Parker and Sunderland fan Spencer Barrowman to discuss the mood at their clubs ahead of Saturday's meeting at Molineux. Wolves relegation has been inevitable but a late winter/early Spring upturn in form and results has been followed by three consecutive defeats without scoring against teams placed 15th, 17th and 18th in the table. What's happened to the positivity prior to the International break? The team in 16th just trounced Sunderland at The Stadium of Light 5-0, which followed on from conceding four at Villa Park, when they also were on a positive run previously. There's discussion one hat remains and early thoughts on next season, including whether the managers will still be there. Plus, FPL discussion on enablers that perhaps shouldn't necessarily be overlooked. Especially, as they're playing each other. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Broadcaster Russ Williams, Jason McGovern and Marlon as our first Premier League win of 2026 arrived at Molineux on Saturday thanks to Joao Palhinha's late goal. The panel discuss what a huge goal it might prove to be in our fight against relegation. The midfielder stepped off the bench to convert from close range with eight minutes remaining to score the only goal of a tense and scrappy game against Wolverhampton Wanderers and give us a massive confidence boost ahead of our remaining four matches. We also reflect on a stunning last-gasp save from Antonin Kinsky to keep out Joao Gomes' free-kick in the dying seconds to ensure victory – one that was so important considering all the teams above us all won as well. It means we remain third from bottom, but this could be the start of our revival. We finally reflect on the concerning injuries to both Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons and the consistent pattern of injuries we seem to be occurring in addition to touching on the refereeing decisions happening both during our games and elsewhere. Marcus Buckland and George Sessions rejoice at Tottenham's first Premier League win of 2026 and for 118 days. It was not pretty at Molineux against already-relegated Wolves, but does it matter? How costly are injuries to Xavi Simons and Dominic Solanke? Does Antonin Kinsky have to keep his place after his last-gasp heroics? And can Spurs now stay up and will James Maddison be able to contribute? #tottenham #tottenhamhotspur #spurs #coys #thfc #premierleague #robertodezerbi #dezerbi #jamesmaddison #mickyvandeven #xavisimons #dominicsolanke #kevindanso #antoninkinsky #wolves #thetottenhamway #soccer #podcast #footballpodcast #newepisode #sportspodcast #review #reaction #opinion Learn more about your ad choices. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Jonathan Hammé, Gary Ward and TJ Ramini as we discuss the do or die for Tottenham in their battle to stay in the Premier League, and they have another must-win game on their hands this weekend when they take on Wolves. We discuss the sheer size of the game and task at hand for Tottenham, the team news in which Roberto De Zerbi confirmed Spurs will be without Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario and Pape Matar Sarr for Saturday's game against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Head coach Roberto De Zerbi also confirmed that James Maddison will be included in the squad but is unlikely to feature. The panel also discussed the news that Sebastian Kehl is now the leading candidate for a role as Tottenham's new director. Spurs' board want him to rebuild the team alongside Johan Lange. Kehl's career as a top player, his management skills and his extensive international network are highly valued within the club and during the conversations. We also touch-upon the news that Marcos Senesi have reached an agreement in principle. With the 28-year old top centre-back giving his commitment to join Spurs on a free transfer in the summer, if Tottenham stay in the Premier League. We finally close on the scale of the game at Molineux and how nothing but a win will do for Spurs in their battle to retain their Premier League status. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Actor Darren Hart, Musician Jah Wobble and Jamie Brown from The Daily Hotspur as we reflect on West Ham drawing 0-0 to Crystal Palace to go two points ahead of Tottenham in the battle to stay in the Premier League. Wolves have been relegated to the Championship after eight seasons in the Premier League, ahead of their fixture with Spurs at the Molineux on the weekend. Many viewed West Ham's opportunity as the chance to smash a first nail in Tottenham's coffin, but instead they let the hammer slip through their fingers like sand, the panel debate whether West Ham's dropped points has given Spurs fresh impetus in the battle to survive relegation. West Ham have still got Everton, Brentford, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Leeds, a run-in which Opta say is one of the toughest in the division, we look at all the relegation contenders final run-in and ask the question can Roberto De Zerbi compete the great escape for Spurs. This wasn't just a bad night. It was a warning.Villa went to Molineux knowing exactly what was at stake. A six-point cushion. Chelsea next. Momentum fragile but intact. Instead, they produced a performance devoid of conviction and lost to a Wolves side that had won one game in twenty-eight The tone was set early. Pau Torres, unmarked from a corner, headed wide when the script demanded a goal. From that moment, belief drained. Villa overplayed and hesitation set in. It was tension disguised as patience. The system didn't shift. Wolves' back three nullified Villa again. The midfield lacked line-breaking presence without Kamara and Tielemans. Barkley's introduction brought little defensive awareness, with questions raised over positioning for the opening goal. And when Wolves scored, Villa folded. It was a zero-sum performance. No rhythm. No authority. No personality. The bigger concern is psychological. Villa are no longer chasing. They are protecting. And suddenly they look like a team feeling the weight of expectation.Because if this was the wobble, the next four games will tell us whether it becomes a collapse.UTVGet a Great NordVPN DealGet a cracking deal on NordVPN with four months FREE & a 30 days money-back guarantee here: nordvpn.com/momsGET AD-FREE SHOWS and JOIN MATCH CLUBGet ad-free shows and extra shows, and join My Old Man Said's 24/7 Villa community, Match Club. For more details and to become a member, click here: Become a MOMS MemberJoin the show's listener facebook group The Mad Few.Credits:David Michael - @myoldmansaid Chris Budd - @BUDD_musicPhillip Shaw - @prsgameMy Old Man Said - https://www.myoldmansaid.comThis Podcast has been created and uploaded by My Old Man Said. Aston Villa are third.Six points clear of the Champions League trapdoor and yet it doesn't feel comfortable. This episode digs into the strange duality of Villa's current position. On paper, the table looks strong. After 27 games, Villa sit on 51 points, three clear of Manchester United and six ahead of the Champions League drop line. Historically, that buffer matters. But performances tell a different story. The attack has stalled. The midfield spine is missing. The Molineux record is grim.Kamara, Tielemans and McGinn absent has stripped control from the centre of the pitch. Pau Torres' progressive passing is badly missed. Villa are defensively solid, conceding just five goals in 2026, but they are not imposing themselves. Games are tight, tense and reliant on moments rather than dominance. And now comes Wolves away.Four games without a win at Molineux. The last victory came in lockdown. No witnesses. It barely counts .Wolves may be near the bottom, but they have athletes, a back three Villa struggle against, and nothing to lose. For them, it is a free hit. For Villa, it is a pressure point.Lose, and doubt creeps in fast with Chelsea and Manchester United next. Win, and the fear flips into leverage.Because here is the opportunity: Villa only need to finish above one of Liverpool, Chelsea or United to achieve their objective .That is the equation.Fear factor or opportunity? The next two weeks will decide the narrative of the season.UTVGet a Great NordVPN DealGet a cracking deal on NordVPN with four months FREE & a 30 days money-back guarantee here: nordvpn.com/momsGET AD-FREE SHOWS and JOIN MATCH CLUBGet ad-free shows and extra shows, and join My Old Man Said's 24/7 Villa community, Match Club. In this hastily scheduled half of an Arsecast Extra, James and I look back at last night's horrendous 2-2 draw with Wolves at Molineux. We discuss the team selection, and how after making a great start, Arsenal failed to capitalise on Bukayo Saka's early goal. Despite going 2-0 up, we let it slip, and we analyse the goals we conceded, the unpleasant trends regarding our goal concessions this season, and how the defensive lapses are secondary to the fact that the attack looks so inhibited at this moment in time. We also wonder if that plays a part in the way the team played with fear in the second half, what it all means for the title race, the questions about our mentality, the growing sense of now or never for Mikel Arteta and, at the heart of it, a sense of frustration because we know this is a team capable of much better than we've been seeing of late.
