ESPN introduces its newest 30 for 30 documentary film, False Positive, premiering Tuesday, June 11, at 7:00pm ET on ESPN and streaming on ESPN+.Butch Reynolds was one of the biggest track and field stars in the world, a talent in his prime on top of his sport. But when he took a drug test in Monaco in the summer of 1990, his career was upended, and his life was forever changed. Yet then and now, the facts of the case shed more than considerable doubt on what happened – instead revealing the tale of a man falsely accused and still compelled in many ways to fight to clear his name all these years later. False Positive tells Reynolds' story in full, beginning with his childhood in Akron, Ohio, to global fame, to his subsequent suspension by the IAAF. It would take years for him to put his life back together, and to this day, the ban continues to shadow his legacy. False Positive delves into Reynolds' relentless battle to clear his name, revealing systemic flaws within sports governance and the enduring impact of false accusations on an athlete's legacy. As the documentary makes clear, when it comes to a story like his, the real truth is found beyond the headlines.

In this special episode of The Warm Up Track, we're joined by some of the stars of the very first World Athletics Championships as the event prepares to celebrate its 40th anniversary. 1500m gold medallist Steve Cram explains how important the '83 Worlds were, at a time when the Olympic Games was beset by political boycotts. He also outlines plans by Athletics' world governing body, the IAAF, to make the World Championships their equivalent of the FIFA World Cup and make the Olympics track and field's second tier competition for under-23s only. Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn, who won sprint relay bronze, describes a Jamaica team where you had to bring a sewing kit to make adjustments to the vest and shorts you'd been given. She also recalls how all of the teams stayed in university halls of residence, and how the cafeteria was the place to be, a real melting pot of nations where life-long friendships were made. Jamaica's first World Champion Bert Cameron says that, as he received his 400m gold, he saw his life in flashback – leaving him with the belief that God had given him his talent to lift his family out of poverty. While Arto Bryggare, whose 110m hurdles silver was host nation Finland's first medal of the Championships, recalls how he took time to speak with his team-mate Tiina Lilak during his lap of honour to say “stop playing, start throwing”. Lilak was involved in the Javelin final, and would go onto win gold that same night. Arto was in doping control when he heard the crowd “exploding” as she claimed the win. As for Arto, he says the silver is “the number one thing” in his career because it was a medal of “standing the pressure”. ‘The leadership and management of football, one of the most diverse games on the planet, is still controlled, fundamentally, by white men'. Dame Heather Rabbatts, 2020 It's generally accepted that organisations led by diverse boards are more successful, have better governance and make better decisions. Yet for many sports not much has changed from the 1800s when organised sport was first developed – organised for men, by men. This chapter explores what's happening in the running of global sport. After years of governance scandals at major sports organisations including FIFA, the FA, the IOC, the IAAF and the ICC are we finally seeing improved gender balance at the very top, or is the shift taking too long?Thank you to Sport England who support The Game Changers podcast through a National Lottery grant.Find out more about The Game Changers podcast here.Hosted by Sue AnstissProduced by Sam Walker, What Goes On MediaA Fearless Women production

This week I had the honor to speak with Chase Ealey. She is a Los Alamos Graduate, Oklahoma State Alum, and Current Nike Athlete. She is a world class Shot Put competitor, currently ranked #1 in the IAAF standings. We talk about her start in track, which came after she quit softball and how she viewed herself as a sprinter who threw. We also talk about how she grew into a thrower and her recruitment process in that regard. She talks about growing up in Los Alamos and never knowing what she could really do with throwing, but is now traveling the world and meeting amazing people. We also get into being a fan of the sport and that all aspects need to be there for each other. It was a lot of fun getting to know Chase. We had a lot of fun talking and laughing and you get a real sense of her personality. She's got a couple of meets in Europe coming up, but USATF Outdoor National Championships will be coming up at the end of June, with the Women's Shot Put Final being at 2pm Mountain Time on June 26th. The weather continues to get warmer and dryer. Be aware of that as you head out for your runs. Be safe, be kind, stay hydrated, and keep running (or throwing), New Mexico.

Would he go back to India? What was his greatest accomplishment? All this and more in this first interview on #HavingAChat. It was a clash of mystique versus high profile in which Madrid's history overtook anything that PSG had and the French side's lack of courage showed the adversity of the moment instead. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/itsallaboutfutbol/support

His winning jump of 8.59 meters was the fourth biggest in Olympic history. He kept on repeating the feat till 2011 and in 2013 Philips finally said goodbye to track and field as an athlete and started serving as athlete role model and In September 2020, SPIRE Institute and Academy signed Phillips to become an international track and field ambassador.
