In my latest live and exclusive Interview I sit down with one of the very best performers in the UK in 2022, Sam Gradwell. We discuss his recent return to the UK Indies after a number of years in WWE NXTUK. We discuss his development as an overall performer and how he is enjoying the UK scene after more than 3 years. We talk about mentors and trainers, such as Marty Jones, Johnny Saint and fellow Blackpool native, William Regal and the relationship he has with those legends of the sports. Sam discuses his up-coming match for Sovereign Pro against Brady Philips in Feb 2023, and recent matches since coming back onto the scene with Jim Diehard, Priscilla and more. Sam takes a deep dive into his wrestling fandom growing up and how that led to him getting into the business as a teenager. We discuss his tour of China in 2015 and the weird and wonderful happenings during that trip. Sam discusses his memories of the first ever WWE UK Tournament in 2017, in his home town of Blackpool, the WWE Live Shows with the main roster in 2017 and 2018, before discussing the reasons why he was kept out of the business for more than two years until late 2020. We also discuss some other fun stories from promo class inside the NXTUK PC and using the phrase "Yogurt" in front of a listening Shawn Michaels. We discuss being a featured performer for NXTUK during the BT Sports Studio Era and some of his classic encounters, including the NO DQ match against Ilja Dragunov in March 2021. This was an incredibly fun and insightful interview with one of the premier wrestling talent in the UK in 2022 (Duration: 82 mins)
On Episode 237, we kick things off with two more excellent interviews from Dynamo Pro talent. Just in time for tonight's big Riot on The River event in Grafton, IL, Big Dave interviews two guys who will be heavily involved in the festivities tonight. He first talks to "Mr. Extraordinary" Benjamin Trust, who discusses the tournament so far, his Quarterfinal match vs Outtcast, and his career thus far. From there, Dave welcomes back to the show one of our favorite guests, "Lights Out" Adrian Surge. Adrian has a massive opportunity tonight to defeat Makaze and become the Dynamo Pro Champion and, on this episode, he talks about what has become a very heated rivalry with his former mentor. Fans of Dynamo Pro will not want to miss these interviews as we get set for the big night tonight. From there, Big Dave recaps the recently completed 2018 WWE UK Championship. From the first match of the First Round, all the way to the final bell at the NXT UK Championship, Dave runs down a tremendous event put on by WWE. What were the high points? Who really stepped forward and asserted themselves? What does the future hold for the NXT UK Division? If you missed the tournament or have been on the fence about watching it, then tune in to Episode 237 and find out if it might be worth your time. We then close this Episode down by releasing Vol. 2 of the lost Summer Slam '17 tapes. In this installment, we release the Summer Slam '17 Tri-Cast Preview show. This was the final time Kinny Killa of the Sunday Segue Wrestling Podcast appeared on the show before he closed up shop so for those of you who miss hearing Kinny's voice, this will be a nice trip down memory lane. What did Dave, Kinny, Chris Platt, DPP, and PC Tunny think about Summer Slam '17 before the event took place and, more importantly, how did they do with their picks? As the Road to Summer Slam '18 nears its conclusion, join us here to take a look back at last year's Mega event before it took place. News, Results, chatter, the works. We are going to go off the cusp tonight as we breakdown all things the week in wrestling. We talk all the news and rumors going around in the world of wrestling, including RoH potentially suing WWE for the MSG issue. WWE came through as we talk Raw and Smackdown from last week, along with the first day of the WWE UK Tournament. What matches stood out, what angles were good, and how the hell did it take WWE this long to have a hot start to Raw. We talk some international as we go all over the globe. We discuss the Tomoaki Homna comeback match from the 24th in New Japan, along with the Super Strong Machine retirement show on the 19th. Other banter I'm sure to happen as always. Oh, and buy the T-Shirt! We extended pre orders till July 10th due to the demand on these, so make sure to get your color and size in quickly. We got a reeeaaally long episode for you this time. Vic and I sat down to talk about the WWE UK Tournament and we just kind of went off on a whole bunch of topics. We get into the discussion of how one can separate the art from an artist. Is that even possible? The more I think about it I think not, but what do you think? We also talk about how far can a heel go in pro wrestling to get heat. Let me know what you think about that as well! The music used in this episode is from Vic's band Vac. Check them out here: https://vacnwi.bandcamp.com/ Vic also has a band called Sore History with music coming soon so look out for that! Given enough time, even Michael Cole can be good. 2017 is going to be a strange year, friends. The Slambros Boman12L and Illa YC return for the 16th episode! As always, the dirt sheets are packed with rumors and news from both in and out the ring. We say goodbye to Jimmy Superfly Snuka. After ten years, the WWE has found Kurt Angle and will be inducting him in their Hall of Fame WrestleMania weekend. While the WWE UK Tournament showed us Michael Cole can be good on commentary, Illa YC wants to know “what happens next?” The UK belts is by far one of the best designed belts in years, but will Tyler Bate be defending that title anytime soon? RAW, like Michael Cole, showed it too can be good if a little effort is made. When WWE is not too busy editing video clips to make it appear people care for the life and times of Roman F. Reigns, they can put on a fairly decent wrestling show. Lucha Underground is on break, but rumors say it could be heading soon to Netflix. Smackdown Live continues its strong run with cage matches and logical reveals. We have recaps and more, so stay tuned. Listen to the show and follow us on Twitter at @SlamBrosPod!
