(STINGER: AEW) Chris Jericho says he's been ordered by doctors not to sing…due to unspecified medical issues that landed him in a hospital in the United Kingdom last week. Rhett Titus won the ROH Television Title, dethroning Dalton Castle. Titus pinned Silas Young to win a 4-Way that also included Joe Hendry. Josh Woods beat Brian Johnson to retain the Pure Title. (STINGER: AEW) 14,000 fans - the largest crowd to ever gather for an AEW event - will pack Chicago's United Center tonight. It's AEW Rampage: The First Dance. There's no doubt why all of those fans will be there. They are expecting to see CM Punk return to major professional wrestling for the first time in more than seven and a half years. AEW has confirmed NOTHING regarding Punk. BUT Tony Khan tweeted Thursday that a new era in AEW will begin tonight...and that “excitement from the most anticipated announcement in AEW history at Rampage...will build up through All Out”. There are some matches scheduled for tonight's show. The first match in the four-team Tag Team Eliminator Tournament: Jurassic Express vs. Private Party. Plus, Jade Cargill vs. Kiera Hogan...and Jon Moxley vs. Daniel Garcia. Garcia got a submission win over Matt Sydal on a special episode of Dark: Elevation that premiered Thursday night. Also on Thursday, AEW officially announced the signing of the tag team 2.0 - Matt Lee & Jeff Parker. (STINGER: Impact) The new Impact World Champion Christian Cage defends the title for the first time TONIGHT at Emergence. It's an Impact Plus exclusive show...starting at 7PM Eastern. Christian's challenger will be Brian Myers. Christian will NOT defend the TNA Championship. He retired the title on last night's Impact Wrestling. The next #1 contender for the Impact World Championship will be decided tonight in a 4-Way: Chris Sabin vs. Sami Callihan vs. Moose vs. Ace Austin. On last night's Impact...Sabin & Callihan beat Moose & Austin. Austin took the pin. Also on tonight's Emergence show...Josh Alexander defends the X-Division Title against Jake Something. The Good Brothers put their Impact Tag Titles on the line in a 3-Way against Violent By Design...and Rich Swann & Willie Mack. VBD's Joe Doering beat Doc Gallows in last night's Impact main event. At one point, Gallows drove Doering and himself through the floor of the entrance stage. But that was not the end. Doering rallied and pinned Gallows. Madison Rayne makes her in-ring return tonight against Taylor Wilde. Rayne announced her retirement back in January. Also tonight, Matt Cardona vs. Rohit Raju… Petey Williams vs. Steve Maclin… Knockouts Champ Deonna Purrazzo & Matthew Rehwoldt (ray-walt) vs. Melina & Trey Miguel… And Tasha Steelz, Savannah Evans, Fallah Bahh and No Way vs. Decay. (STINGER: ROH) Ring Of Honor is at Philadelphia's 2300 Arena tonight for the first of two Glory By Honor shows on back-to-back nights. Both shows will steam on Honor Club. Tonight's main event has Bandido defending the ROH World Title against Flip Gordon. Plus, Jonathan Gresham defends the Pure Title against fellow Foundation member Rhett Titus. (STINGER: WWE) As of Thursday night, WWE has yet to announce anything for tonight's SmackDown. It's the final stop before SummerSlam on Saturday night. WWE hosted a tryout in Las Vegas on Thursday. Afterward, Triple H told the invited media on hand that more than a dozen people were signed. WWE President Nick Khan was asked what the chances are that WWE will remain a standalone company in the next year. (Nick Khan WWE Future) That's Nick Khan speaking on “Recode Media with Peter Kafka”. On Thursday's NXT UK… Pretty Deadly had to cheat to do it...but they held onto their NXT UK Tag Titles against Moustache Mountain. Meiko Satomura submitted Stevie Turner to retain the NXT UK Women's Championship… Dani Luna beat Isla Dawn...but Dawn did manage to snatch a piece of Luna's hair so...little victories. Also, Saxon Huxley beat Eddie Dennis. The NWA announced Thursday that Ric Flair will appear on its 73rd Anniversary pay per view on August 29th. AEW's Diamante has been added to the talent lineup for the Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. (STINGER: New Japan) Some fresh faces on tonight's New Japan Strong. Daniel Garcia makes his New Japan debut...teaming up with Fred Rosser & Fred Yehi against TJP, Clark Connors & Ren Narita. Also, Matt Morris - better known lately as Matthew Rehwoldt - has his first match in New Japan...against Alex Coghlin. Tonight's main event is Brody King & Chris Dickinson vs. The West Coast Wrecking Crew. Brody King told Wrestling Inc. that he tested positive for COVID-19...and that caused him to miss last weekend's New Japan Resurgence event. Minoru Suzuki will be a busy man during his visit to the U.S. this fall. Not only is he working dates for New Japan. He's also now announced for FOUR GCW shows across September and October. After the match, Nikki went after Charlotte Flair, who was sitting in on commentary. That led to a tag team main event, where Charlotte & Nia Jax beat Nikki & Rhea. Charlotte pinned Rhea. Damian Priest pinned The Miz with a Brogue Kick - right in front of United States Champion Sheamus, who was on commentary at the time. John Morrison walked out on Miz during the match. Earlier, he learned Miz had been medically cleared for WEEKS before he finally got out his wheelchair last Monday. Mansoor got an outside assist from Mustafa Ali and pinned Mace. NXT Champion Karrion Kross quickly submitted Jeff Hardy with the Kross Jacket in a non-title match. Survivor Series is set for Sunday, November 21st at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. (STINGER: AEW) Tonight's AEW Dark has a big 8-Man Tag - Jurassic Express and the Varsity Blonds teaming up against The Wingmen. Also tonight, the ELITE HUNTER Frankie Kazarian vs. Brandon Cutler...Matt Hardy vs. Wheeler Yuta. Some notable names will make their AEW debuts. Lee Moriarty goes up against Dante Martin...and Masha Slamovich faces Penelope Ford. Plus, Kiera Hogan gets another look against Kris Statlander. Hogan made her AEW debut on last night's Elevation...with a loss to Hikaru Shida. Also on last night's show...Diamante pinned Julia Hart after she misdirected the referee, pulled a chain out of a corner pad and then hit Julia with it. Diamante continued to beatdown after the match until Big Swole ran in for the rescue. Joey Janela used a handful of tights to roll up and pin Alan “5” Angels...and the Lucha Brothers beat The Hybrid2. New names announced for the NWA's Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. The AEW tandem of Red Velvet & KiLynn King will be in the NWA Women's Tag Team Title tournament. Plus, Thunder Kitty will be in the Invitational Cup battle royale. (STINGER: ROH) On this past weekend's Ring Of Honor TV...Max The Impaler beat Hollidead in a first-round match in the women's title tournament. Also, Flip Gordon pinned Homicide to win a 10-Man “All-Stars vs. Champions” Tag Team main event. (STINGER: New Japan) COVID-19 concerns are leading to more changes for New Japan. This all started over the weekend, when IWGP World Heavyweight Champ Shingo Takagi and BUSHI were found to have fevers. The results of PCR tests still aren't back. So, Shingo and BUSHI are off of Tuesday's show...along with Testsuya Naito, SANADA, Yujiro Takahashi, Dick Togo and Gedo. The winner of New Japan's Super Junior Tag League will be decided on Tuesday's show. First, Junior Heavyweight Champ Robbie Eagles & Tiger Mask face Ryusuke Taguchi & Master Wato. Eagles & Tiger Mask are still alive in the tournament but they need to win and get some help. The main event has the Junior Tag Champs Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo vs. El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru. If the Bullet Club tandem wins they take the tournament. If Despy & Kanemaru win, we could have a three-way tiebreaker to sort out. Getting back to Togo & Gedo, their absence from Monday's show means they'll miss their final Super Junior Tag League match. Their opponents, Roppongi 3K, dissolved as a team. So, New Japan is declaring the match a double forfeit - with neither team receiving any points. The breakup of Roppongi 3K was a violent one. SHO hung YOH out to dry during their match Monday against Despy & Kanemaru. YOH eventually succumbed to the numbers. After the match, SHO made his intentions clear and attacked YOH. Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Friday, July 23, 2021. This update is brought to you by IndyWrestling.us. (STINGER: WWE) Tonight's SmackDown is going to be unlike any that have come before. Part of the show will broadcast from the Rolling Loud hip-hop festival in Miami - including at least two matches: Bianca Belair defending the SmackDown Women's Championship against Carmella...and Big E vs. Apollo Crews. Part of a video screen at the festival site collapsed on Thursday. No one was injured. Repairs are expected to be complete in time for the festival to open as scheduled. The rest of tonight's SmackDown will emanate from Cleveland's Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. John Cena is set to appear LIVE. WWE is also promoting the SmackDown debut of Toni Storm. We have a new date for the NXT UK Championship match between WALTER and Ilja Dragunov. It'll happen in the United States...at TakeOver 36...on August 22nd. Pretty Deadly still hold the NXT UK Tag Titles. They beat Subculture's Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster on Thursday's show. (STINGER: Impact) Bullet Club's dirty laundry was aired out on last night's Impact Wrestling. Jay White was in the Impact Zone last night. He said he's in Impact to go after David Finlay ahead of their upcoming match at New Japan's Resurgence show. Then, White - the leader of Bullet Club - directly addressed The Elite. He said the Good Brothers bid to rejoin the group was denied...though White said they can appeal his decision if they want. This drew out the Good Brothers and Kenny Omega. After some verbal sparring, the Good Brothers attacked White. That's when Chris Bey ran out to rescue White. Earlier in the show, White offered Bey a spot in Bullet Club. Bey has yet to formally accept the offer. Anyway...It'll be White & Bey vs. the Good Brothers on next week's Impact. Bey opened last night's Impact by pinning Rohit Raju with the Art Of Finesse. As for Omega, he literally bumped into the X-Division Champion Josh Alexander backstage. It appears we could be heading toward a showdown between those two. Havok & Rosemary beat Fire n' Flava to retain the Knockouts Tag Titles in last night's main event. One-half of Fire n' Flava - Kiera Hogan - announced earlier in the day that this latest set of tapings is her last with Impact. She told fans she's going to “see what else is out there for me”. Matt Cardona, Jake Something, & Chelsea Green beat Tenille Dashwood, Sam Beale, & Brian Myers. Green pinned Beale with the Unprettier. Taylor Wilde returned to Impact during this match...and interrupted Kaleb With A K's interference. FinJuice beat Ace Austin & Madman Fulton. Juice Robinson rolled up Fulton for the pin. Eddie Edwards and W. Morrissey brawled in the parking lot outside the Skyway Studios. Morrissey retreated after Edwards found a pair of kendo sticks. Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo accepted an invitation from Mickie James to defend her title at the NWA Empowerrr pay per view next month. (STINGER: AEW) Thunder Rosa is All Elite. AEW announced she's now with the company full-time after breaking early from her contract with the NWA...which was supposed to run through the end of the year. (STINGER: ROH) This weekend's Ring Of Honor TV has PCO vs. Sledge...Flip Gordon vs. World Famous CB...and a 3-Way involving Dalton Castle, Dak Draper and Eli Isom. Jonathan Gresham will defend the Pure Title against his fellow Foundation member Rhett Titus at the Glory By Honor show in Philadelphia on Friday, August 20th. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan's Hiromu Takahashi tweeted Thursday he's been cleared by doctors to return to action. Takahashi has been out with a torn pectoral muscle. New Japan's Summer Struggle tour rolls on Friday. On Thursday's show…Taichi scored a big win over Tetsuya Naito in the main event. The semi-main between SANADA and Zack Sabre Jr. ended in a double pinfall. Friday's Summer Struggle show has Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. KENTA in the main event. Plus,. Tomohiro Ishii vs. EVIL. In Pro-Wrestling NOAH...Masa Kitamiya & Kaito Kiyomiya are the new GHC tag champions...after defeating Katsuhiko Nakajima & Manabu Soya on Thursday. Francesco Akira's reign as All Japan Junior Heavyweight Champion is already over after less than a month. He was dethroned by Sugi on Thursday. The main event saw Jake Lee's first defense of the Triple Crown Championship. He beat Shotaro Ashino. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for ______. An iconic figure in pro wrestling during the 1980's has died. “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff was a powerful and athletic force during his prime. He racked up a number of championship reigns across multiple territories...prior to his arrival in the World Wrestling Federation in 1983. He was part of the main event at WrestleMania I...and became a key rival during Hulk Hogan's first reign as WWF Champion. Injuries shortened Orndorff's career. He did wrestle a bit for WCW during the 90's...and later worked backstage. Orndorff's family announced his passing on Monday. Paul Orndorff was 71. Nikki Cross - or Nikki ASH - won a 4-Way over Asuka, Naomi and Alexa Bliss. Eva Maria and...Doudrop were ringside for this. Alexa got in Eva Marie's face at one point. Doudrop sent Alexa over the barricade...and then we found that Alexa had disappeared. Anyway, Nikki got the pin after a rollup on Asuka. Jinder Mahal THOUGHT he had stolen Drew McIntyre's family sword last week. But it turns out, he just had the “rental”. McIntyre took out his revenge on Mahal's motorcycle. It was announced that the Viking Raiders will challenge AJ Styles & Omos for the Raw Tag Team Titles AT Money In The Bank. That match had been announced for next Monday's Raw. Natalya has been added to the women's Money In The Bank ladder match. There's only one open spot left to be announced. (STINGER: WWE) WWE has lost a top star to a major injury. Bayley will be out of action for approximately 9 months after hurting her knee. WWE said it happened during a training session on Friday. Bayley was set to challenge Bianca Belair for the Smackdown Women's Championship in an “I Quit” Match at Money In The Bank. Obviously, that will NOT be happening now. Instead, Belair's title defense will be moved up to next Friday's SmackDown - the first in front of LIVE fans since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her challenger will be Carmella. Now...Carmella was set to be in the women's Money In The Bank ladder match. But she's now out of that match and will be replaced by Liv Morgan. The final two entrants in the men's Money In The Bank match were decided on last night's SmackDown. Seth Rollins qualified by pinning a bloodied Cesaro...and Shinsuke Nakamura is also in after he scored another win over Baron Corbin. At least three women from NXT are joining the SmackDown roster. Shotzi Blackheat & Tegan Nox debuted last night - announced simply as “Shotzi & Nox”. They were the surprise opponents for the WWE Women's Tag Champs Natalya & Tamina...and they got the win. Shotzi pinned Natalya after a senton from the top rope. The third call-up is Toni Storm. A hype video last night announced that she's “coming soon”. Jimmy Uso did appear on last night's SmackDown. He and brother Jey took a beating from Edge and the returning Rey and Dominik Mysterio at the end of the show. Jimmy Uso was arrested and charged with D.U.I. earlier this week. A formal arraignment is scheduled for later this month. We now know that WWE's Extreme Rules pay per view will be held on Sunday, September 26th...at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Major League Wrestling is back in front of live fans Saturday night at the 2300 Arena in bucolic and pastoral South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It's Battle Riot III. The Battle Riot match is a 40-man battle royal with wrestlers entering in 60-second intervals. Eliminations are by pinfall, submission or going out over the top rope to the floor. The winner gets a shot at the MLW Heavyweight Championship held by Jacob Fatu. Davey Richards is gonna make his MLW debut. He'll compete in the Riot match...and he'll also go one-on-one against TJP. Richard Holliday will defend the Carribean Championship against King Muertes. Cesar Duran - the former Dario Cueto - will be in attendance in Philly. Plus, a Bunkhouse Brawl between the Von Erichs and Team Filthy's Dominic Garrini & Kevin Ku. The show will be broadcast on BeIN SPORTS starting at 10PM Eastern. (STINGER: ROH) On Sunday, Ring Of Honor presents its Best In The World pay per view. Rush defends the ROH World Championship against Bandido. Jonathan Gresham puts the Pure Title on the line against Mike Bennett. Dragon Lee challenges Tony Deppens for the TV Title. HOT SAUCE Tracy Williams & Rhett Titus defend the ROH Tag Titles in a Fight Without Honor against Chris Dickinson & Homicide. Shane Taylor Promotions defend the 6-Man Tag Titles against the makeshift team of Dalton Castle, Dak Draper & Eli Isom. Plus, Brody King vs. Jay Lethal...EC3 vs. Flip Gordon...The Briscoes vs. Brian Johnson & PJ Black...and Josh Woods vs. Silas Young in a Last Man Standing Match. There will also be TWO matches on Hour One of Best In The World, which will be free to watch on multiple platforms: DEMONIC Flamita vs. Rey Horus...and PCO & Danhausen vs. The Bouncers. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan confirmed Friday that its Wrestle Grand Slam show in Tokyo Dome will go on as scheduled on Sunday, July 25th...despite a new COVID-19 related state of emergency in Tokyo. The declaration will mean that New Japan will cease ticket sales for the show on July 11th. New Japan's Summer Struggle tour begins Saturday...with the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title being defended in the main event. Sunday's show has the tag titles being defended. Tetsuya Naito & SANADA will challenge Taichi & Zach Sabre Jr. Plus, KENTA returns to action. He'll tag with Yujiro Takehashi against Hiroshi Tanahashi & Yota Tsuji. Impact's X-Division Champion Josh Alexander was on last night's New Japan Strong. He pinned Rocky Romero in the main event. Backstage, Alexander declared he's not leaving New Japan anytime soon. Pro-Wrestling NOAH has a big show on Sunday...with Naomichi Marufuji defending the GHC Heavyweight Title in the main event against Takashi Sugiura. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, July 10. Our next update comes your way MONDAY morning. Enjoy your weekend, and be sure to subscribe to this feed. (STINGER: WWE) After weeks of hype and vignettes...Eva Marie is set to return on tonight's Raw. Also being promoted for tonight's show: Drew McIntyre vs. AJ Styles...and Randy Orton & Riddle vs. Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston. WWE officially announced over the weekend that Roman Reigns will defend the Universal Championship against Rey Mysterio INSIDE Hell In A Cell. NXT TakeOver: In Your House went down last night... Karrion Kross turned away four challengers in the main event to retain the NXT Championship. He choked out Kyle O'Reilly for the win...swooping in as O'Reilly appeared to be close to tapping out Adam Cole. Also last night, Raquel Gonzalez pinned Ember Moon to hold onto the NXT Women's Championship. North American Champ Bronson Reed & the NXT Tag Champs MSK beat Legado Del Fantasma to retain their titles. The only new champion crowned last night was LA Knight. He's now only the fifth man in history to hold the Million Dollar Championship after he beat Cameron Grimes in a Ladder Match. Also, Xia Li pinned Mercedes Martinez. Martinez went looking for revenge right after the match. She went after Li with a steel chair, but the leader of Tian Sha proved tougher. She put a choke hold on Martinez and tossed her from the stage down to the floor. The show ended with GM William Regal in the parking lot...saying he thinks it's time for a change, and then walking away. NXT is promoting a follow-up on Regal's comments for Tuesday's show. Plus, a Tornado Tag Team Match between the Grizzled Young Veterans and Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher...and Kushida in a Cruiserweight Championship open challenge. NXT will hold its Great American Bash special in its normal time slot on the USA Network...coming up on July 6th. (STINGER: AEW) We have at least eleven matches announced for tonight's Dark: Elevation, including Scorpio Sky vs. Alex Reynolds...and Angelico vs. Mike Sydal. Plus, Penta El Zero Miedo & Eddie Kingston in tag team action...as well as singles matches for Orange Cassidy and Wardlow. (STINGER: Impact) Kenny Omega is still the Impact World Champion. He pinned Moose with the One Winged Angel in the main event of Saturday's Against All Odds show. The show was held at Daily's Place...to prevent interference by the Good Brothers and Sami Callihan. But that didn't account for the Young Bucks. They ran out after referee Brian Hebner was knocked down. The Bucks hit some superkicks and a BTE Trigger on Moose...and Kenny took it from there. Callihan actually showed up in Daily's Place...right after the match...and went after Omega. Omega was able to escape. Then, Don Callis FIRED Callihan. Impact went the extra mile over the weekend - pulling Callihan's profile from its website, unfollowing him on Twitter. Callihan tweeted “I'll see you on Thursday”. Getting back to Against All Odds...Deonna Purrazzo pinned Rosemary to retain the Knockouts Title. Joe Doering PINNED Satoshi Kojima with a powerbomb. Violent By Design also held onto the Impact Tag Titles...as Rhino & Deaner beat Crazzy Steve & Black Taurus. W. Morrissey used a series of powerbombs to pin Rich Swann. A 5-Way X-Division #1 Contender Match ended in a “no contest” after Madman Fulton took out everyone other than his pal Ace Austin. Fire n' Flava beat Kimber Lee & Susan to retain the Knockouts Tag Titles. Finally...Tenille Dashwood used a rollup to pin Jordynne Grace. Grace had gotten preoccupied with yelling at Rachael Ellering, who cut off Kaleb (With A K)'s attempted interference. After the match, Grace yelled at Ellering some more...and hit Kaleb with a Michinoku Driver. (STINGER: ROH) Ring Of Honor has added EC3 vs. Flip Gordon to its Best In The World pay per view, which is coming up on July 11th. (STINGER: WWE) The NXT Championship is on the line tonight. Former champ Finn Balor gets his rematch against Karrion Kross. Also being promoted for tonight, Bobby Fish's first match since his return from injury. He's set to face Pete Dunne. Plus, Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai vs. Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon...the NXT in-ring debut of Franky Monet...and Cameron Grimes faces off with Ted DiBiase. Less than a week after he was released by WWE, the former Velveteen Dream - Patrick Clark - posted a lengthy statement on his Instagram. Clark said his termination was the result of Speaking Out accusations against him...that surfaced more than a year ago. Clark gave a detailed account of his version of the events involving two of his accusers...calling their stories “baseless and untrue.” Charlotte Flair will get her one-on-one match against Rhea Ripley for the Raw Women's Championship...and it will happen at Hell In A Cell. That match was announced on last night's Raw...not long after Charlotte used a cradle to pin Asuka. As for Ripley, she technically lost a Beat The Clock match to Nikki Cross...who survived two minutes against Ripley without being beaten. It was Charlotte who goaded Ripley into taking the match. Natalya & Tamina are still the WWE Womens' Tag Team Champions. Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler, appeared to be in position to take back the titles...but Reginald chose the wrong moment to jump up onto the apron. Baszler told Reggie to get lost...but as he walked up the ramp fire erupted from the stage. That distracted Baszler and allowed Natalya to grab a small package and get the pin. Baszler was fuming at Reginald after the match. She grabbed him and demanded he face her one-on-one in a match on next week's Raw. Also set for next Monday...Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston. The winner will get the shot at WWE Champ Bobby Lashley at Hell In A Cell. They actually tried to do McIntyre vs. Kingston - with the same stakes - on last night's Raw...but Lashley and MVP got involved and the referee threw the match out. Sheamus used a handful of tights to pin Humberto Carrillo. Sheamus tried to beat up Carrillo some more after the match, but Ricochet ran out to make the save. Riddle faced off against Xavier Woods...and it was Riddle getting the win...pinning Woods with the RKO. Jaxson Ryker pinned AJ Styles after outside interference from Elias. Cedric Alexander pinned Shelton Benjamin. (STINGER: New Japan) The latest New Japan wrestler to confirm he tested positive for COVID-19 is Taichi. He told Tokyo Sports he started feeling sick after performing at the Wrestling Dontaku shows. Taichi said his symptoms were mild. Meanwhile, some news that could impact foreign talent looking to wrestle in Japan. The U.S. State Department issued a “Do Not Travel” advisory for the country...citing a “very high level of COVID-19 in the country”. (STINGER: AEW) We have a handful of matches announced for tonight's AEW Dark: Brian Cage vs. Sonny Kiss...Dark Order's “10” vs. Dillon McQueen...and Nick Comoroto vs. Duke Davis. Some familiar faces to fans of New Japan on last night's Dark: Elevation. Ren Narita pinned Royce Isaacs with his bridging belly-to-belly suplex. And Rocky Romero pinned JD Drake with a cradle. The Wingmen tried to jump Romero after the match...but Best Friends - including Romero's former tag partner Trent - ran out for the save. The show ended with them reunited as their old Roppongi Vice theme played. Tonight's NWA Powerrr is being promoted as a “season finale”...with some big matches, including the one between Thunder Rosa and Kamille. The winner is the #1 contender for Serena Deeb's NWA Women's World Championship. There are added stakes for Thunder Rosa. If she loses, the Forbidden Door for her, is closed and locked. She can no longer wrestle anywhere other than the NWA. Also on the show...Aron Stevens and Kratos defend the NWA Tag Titles against the War Kings - Jax Dane & Crimson. There's a battle royal to decide the #1 contender for Nick Aldis' NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. Plus, Aldis himself will be in action. He'll go one-on-one against Mims. (STINGER: ROH) The Ring Of Honor Tag Team Titles are staying with The Foundation. HOT SAUCE Tracy Williams and Rhett Titus turned away the challenge of Matt Taven and Mike Bennett on ROH's weekend TV. Williams pinned Taven with a piledriver...after Taven was hobbled by an ankle injury. Fred Yehi used the Koji Clutch to submit Rocky Romero in a Pure Rules Match. Also on the show, Flip Gordon demanded a shot at Rush and the ROH World Championship...but Gordon was interrupted by EC3...who simply said “you've been warned”...and left. (STINGER: Impact) Impact's Eddie Edwards is back home and recovering...after having his appendix removed. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Tuesday, May 25. (STINGER: AEW) AEW is just weeks away from its first live touring since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. It announced dates and locations for three upcoming Dynamites - the first to be held away from Jacksonville's Daily's Place in NINE months. Dynamite will be at Miami's James L. Knight Center on July 7th...followed by two Wednesdays in Texas - July 14th at the H-E-B Center near Austin...and July 21st at the Curtis Culwell Center in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Tickets for all three shows go on sale Friday morning. AEW says it will comply with all local guidelines concerning COVID-19 safety - that includes seating capacities. AEW also announced a pair of rescheduled live events. First, in St. Louis on FRIDAY, November 5th. That's being called an “AEW TNT television taping”. Also, a live Dynamite in New Orleans on January 12, 2022! We'll get another look at former Lucha Underground Champion Marty Casaus on tonight's AEW Dark. He'll go one-on-one with Jungle Boy. Also tonight, Brian Cage vs. Bear Bronson. Plus, Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston will be in tag team action. On last night's Dark: Elevation...Moxley delivered a Paradigm Shift from the second rope to pin Danny Limelight. Dark Order's Alex Reynolds pinned Private Party's Isiah Kassidy with a rollup. After the match, Matt Hardy and Marq Quen helped Kassidy lay out Reynolds, John Silver and Colt Cabana. Also, Pro wrestling lawyer Mark Sterling pitched himself as the one to manage Jade Cargill, and she was at least willing to listen as she followed Sterling backstage. (STINGER: WWE) TWO title matches on tonight's NXT. Raquel Gonzalez defends her NXT Women's Title against Mercedes Martinez. Santos Escobar gets his rematch for Kushida's Cruiserweight Title. It's Two Out Of Three Falls. Plus, NXT Champ Karrion Kross in a non-title match against Austin Theory...and Killian Dane vs. Imperium's Alexander Wolfe. A new match added to WrestleMania Backlash - The Miz vs. Damien Priest in a Lumberjack Match. Damian Priest pinned John Morrison on last night's Raw...after The Miz's attempt to help Morrison backfired. The gave Priest the right to choose the stipulation for the Backlash match. Raw Women's Champ Rhea Ripley pinned Asuka last night in a non-title match...as Charlotte Flair looked on. Those women will be in a 3-Way for the title at Backlash. Charlotte and Asuka were also on opposite sides of a 6-Woman tag to open the show. It was brought to a screeching halt when Alexa Bliss suddenly appeared on-stage - riding her swing set...alongside Lilly. Bliss said she's keeping her eye on “someone”. The match resumed...but then, Shayna Baszler appeared to lose control of her legs. Asuka swooped in with a shining wizard to get the pin. Charlotte knocked out Asuka after the match. Alexa and Lilly chuckled as they looked on. End scene. An ugly ending to a match between Sheamus and Humberto Carrillo. Carrillo was delivering a sunset flip powerbomb from the apron to the arena floor, but Sheamus landed on Carrillo's left leg. The ref waved off the match and declared Sheamus the winner. A win for Carrillo would've earned him a shot at Sheamus' U.S. Title. The main event was a non-title match between WWE Champ Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre. But Braun Strowman interfered and power slammed BOTH men as the show ended. Jinder Mahal returned to Raw with a win over Jeff Hardy. Shelton Benjamin pinned Cedric Alexander with a T-Bone Suplex. Also, the team of R-K-Bro and Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston beat AJ Styles, Omos, Elias and Jaxson Ryker. Randy Orton pinned Elias with an RKO. After the match, Orton RKO'd Woods and Kingston. Riddle was befuddled. (STINGER: ROH) On this past weekend's Ring Of Honor TV, Angelina Love beat Quinn McKay, thanks to a timely distraction by Mandy Leon. EC3 & Flip Gordon beat The Briscoes. EC3 pinned Mark Briscoe after Gordon hit Mark with a chain. But EC3 never saw Flip's cheating. And Brian Johnson's open challenge was answered by...PCO. Johnson kicked out of PCO's moonsault...but he later beat Johnson via submission. The NWA Tag Team Titles will be defended tonight on Super Powerrr. The encouraging news for pro wrestling companies in Japan is that the ban on spectators at large sporting events will be scaled back. Attendance will be capped at 5,000 people - or 50% of the venue's capacity. That would be good news for pro wrestling companies, including New Japan - which has a major show in Tokyo Dome on May 29th. Salina de la Renta is leaving MLW. Her final appearance was on last Wednesday's Fusion...when she crossed paths on-screen with the “El Jefe” of Azteca Underground. The man known in Lucha Underground as “Dario Cueto” will get a new name, according to MLW's Court Bauer. (Bauer On Cueto Name) Bauer speaking with Post Wrestling's John Pollock. Bauer says the deal with actor Luis Fernandez-Gil will keep him with MLW “for many years to come”. Bauer was asked about reports of recent talks between MLW and WWE, but he declined to comment. (STINGER: WWE) Today was supposed to be the day - but instead, WWE announced last night that the ticket sales for WrestleMania are on hold - being moved as “plans for the event are still being finalized.” WWE is promising to announce a new on-sale date within the next week. This didn't prevent WWE from announcing TWO title matches for WrestleMania during last night's Raw. One of the main events is set - Bobby Lashley defending the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre. Also announced for Mania - The New Day's Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will defend the Raw Tag Titles they just won from The Hurt Business on last night's Raw. They'll be challenged by AJ Styles and Omos, who'll be making his in-ring debut at WrestleMania. We got some matches made for Fastlane coming up on Sunday. McIntyre will face Sheamus. McIntyre submitted The Miz with The Hurt Lock on last night's Raw. Sheamus lost to Lashley in the Raw main event. Then, Shane dumped GREEN GOO on Braun. Shane and Braun are now set for a rematch at Fastlane. Alexa Bliss issued a challenge to Randy Orton, and WWE says those two will go one-on-one at Fastlane. Also last night, Riddle retained the United States Championship against Mustafa Ali. Women's Champion Asuka returned to Raw...snuck in a pin on Shayna Baszler...and then continued to beatdown after the match...as she sought vengeance for the kick to the face from Baszler that put her out of action. Bad Bunny relinquished the 24/7 Championship to R-Truth Later, Bad Bunny was laid out in the ring by a guitar shot from The Miz. (STINGER: AEW) Tony Khan announced Monday that LEGIT Leyla Hirsch has officially signed with AEW. Khan also appeared in-person on last night's debut episode of AEW Dark: Elevation...and made a non-title match between AEW Champ Kenny Omega and Matt Sydal for NEXT WEEK's Dynamite. After the match, QT just walked away as PRETTY Peter Avalon and his crew ran out to beat up Stunt. Also, Max Caster from The Acclaimed beat Top Flight's Dante Martin. I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Tuesday, January 19, 2021. This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. Results from Monday Night's Raw and Ring Of Honor's weekend TV are straight ahead in this update but first… WWE Champion Drew McIntyre announcing Monday he'll be back on Raw NEXT Monday night. McIntyre is quarantining after he tested positive for COVID-19. WWE also promoting Goldberg for next Monday - the final Raw before the Royal Rumble, where Goldberg will challenge McIntyre for the WWE title. Newly declared entrants for the Royal Rumble matches: Jeff Hardy, Peyton Royce and Alexa Bliss. Speaking of Bliss...she scored a BIG win in the main event of last night's Raw - pinning the Raw Women's Champion Asuka. It was a non-title match. Alexa seemingly transformed mid-match into a more evil version of herself...absorbed some powerful strikes from Asuka...and then hit Sister Abigail for the win. As for Randy Orton - one week after Bliss blasted him with a fireball to the face... Orton appeared backstage in a dark room, wearing a mask, at the start of Raw. AJ Styles beat Ricochet after an eye-popping reversal into a Styles Clash. Ricochet was hoping to prove that he deserves a spot in the Royal Rumble. Shayna Baszler tapped out Mandy Rose. Shayna and Nia Jax are NOT getting along. The Hurt Business beat Riddle and the Lucha House Party. Cedrix Alexander and Shelton Benjamin are NOT getting along either. Charlotte Flair submitted Peyton Royce. Ric Flair showed up along with Lacey Evans - who was wearing one of Ric's robes - but their distraction was ineffective. Also, Mace from Retribution beat Xavier Woods. (STINGER: Impact) Tonight's Impact Wrestling has fallout from last Saturday's Hard To Kill pay per view. Plus, Eric Young vs. Rhino...and Kimber Lee & Susan vs. Jordynne Grace & Jazz. Four-time former Knockouts Champion ODB says she's returning to Impact. (ODB Impact Return) ODB speaking with Chris Van Vliet. She said we can expect to see her in Impact “soon”. (STINGER: AEW) Tonight's AEW Dark has 14 matches. Among them, Santana & Ortiz vs. Danny Limelight & Jon Cruz…”Dragon vs. Dinosaur”: Brandon Cutler vs. Luchasaurus...plus, the Lucha Bros. are in action. (Tama Blasts The Elite) That clip from a video tweeted by Tama as he promoted his Tama's Island podcast which is streaming on Twitch tonight. By the way, New Japan is wrapping up three straight days at Korakuen Hall this morning with another Road To The New Beginning show. (STINGER: ROH) Dragon Lee is still the Ring Of Honor TV champion. He survived a tough challenge from Rey Horus on ROH's weekend TV. Also on that show, Flip Gordon pinned Rhett Titus in a Pure Rules. But because he punched Rhett in the face during the match - on top of other past behavior - Flip is now SUSPENDED from the Pure Division. I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Friday, January 15, 2021. This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. Results from NXT UK are straight ahead in this update but first… Let's set the stage for tonight's SmackDown - Shinsuke Nakamura will face Jey Uso. Last week Nakamura nearly ran a Gauntlet Match to grab a shot at Roman Reigns' Universal Championship. But Reigns and Uso orchestrated the win for Adam Pearce instead. And WWE is promoting that there will be contract signing between Pearce and Reigns for their Universal Title match at the Royal Rumble. Also announced for tonight - Rey Mysterio vs. King Corbin. Tonight's 205 Live will feature TWO first round matches in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Killian Dain & Drake Maverick vs. Curt Stallion & August Grey....and Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza vs. The Bollywood Boyz On Thursday's NXT UK, a successful defense of the United Kingdom Championship for WALTER..as he defeated A-Kid. Sha Samuels made his NXT UK TV debut with a loss to Joe Coffey. Samuels says he's officially signed with WWE. The UK Women's Championship will be defended on next week's NXT UK - Kay Lee Ray defending against Jinny. In two weeks there will be a #1 Contenders match for the NXT UK tag titles - Pretty Deadly vs. Mandrews & Flash Morgan Webster vs. The Hunt vs. Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter. One more note from WWE - The Miz is the latest entrant announced for the men's Royal Rumble match. (STINGER: Impact) Impact Wrestling announcing a match for its FREE pre-show ahead of Saturday night's Hard To Kill pay per view. It'll be Josh Alexander taking on Brian Myers A big match on the main card for Hard to Kill - the finals of the Knockouts Tag Title tournament - Nevaeh and Havok facing Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz, who explained why this match is so important to her. (Steelz KO Tag Tourney) That clip from a match watch-along with both teams on Impact's social media. (STINGER: New Japan) Bullet Club original Tama Tonga not pulling many punches as he responded to the “reunion” of Kenny Omega, the Good Brothers and the Young Bucks. (Tama On Elite) That clip from the new episode of the Tama's Island podcast. Tama also crushed any speculation that he may turn up in AEW or Impact TV. He was a little more cagey when asked about Jay White's current status...Tama called White's post Wrestle Kingdom comments a “red flag”. Tonight's New Japan Strong will see KENTA in a 6-man tag, alongside fellow Bullet Club members El Phantasmo and Hikuleo. They'll face the team of Fred Rosser, Blake Christian & ACH. (STINGER: ROH) This weekend's Ring Of Honor TV has Dragon Lee defending his TV Title against Rey Horus. And a Pure Rules Match between Flip Gordon and Rhett Titus. I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, December 19, 2020. This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. Coming up, results from Ring Of Honor's Final Battle, Friday's SmackDown and New Japan Strong - but first some sad news.. An iconic voice in Lucha Libre has died. Dr. Alfonso Morales passed away Thursday after a long battle with kidney disease. Morales was a sports journalist first - before becoming the announcer for BOTH AAA and CMLL during their broadcast TV expansion in the 1990's and beyond. Dr. Alfonso Morales was 71. Staying in Mexico, CMLL has canceled its PPV scheduled for Christmas Day. The announcement came after authorities in and around Mexico City shut down all non-essential businesses through January 10th..due to a spike in COVID-19 hospitalizations. (STINGER: Ring Of Honor Results) Ring of Honor back on pay-per-view for the first time in a year, with its biggest show of the year - Final Battle. There were two late changes to the card. Instead of battling EC3, Jay Briscoe LOST to Shane Taylor, who called it the biggest win of his ROH career..and declared he's got next in the ROH World Title picture. (More on that in a moment) Bandido and Flamita were also held out of the show. So instead of defending the 6-man tag titles, Rey Horus got a match against Dalton Castle..and WON. The main event saw Rush retain his ROH World Title against Brody King..after interference by Rush's father, La Bestia del Ring, and his brother, Dragon Lee. Lee retained his TV title against Tony Deppen, who advanced from a 4-way match earlier in the night. It appears Rush, Lee and the rest of La Facción Ingobernable are on a collision course with The Foundation. The two sides had a staredown at the end of the night. The Foundation's Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham retained their ROH tag titles against Mark Briscoe and PCO. Then, Gresham beat Flip Gordon to hold onto the Pure Title. Matt Taven and Mike Bennett beat Vincent and Bateman. But The Righteous responded by attacking Bennett's legs.. Also, Danhausen finally secured his ROH contract. He beat Brian Johnson via disqualification. (Danhausen ROH Contract) Some of Danhausen's post-match comments on ROH's social media. (STINGER: Smackdown Results) Last night's SmackDown the final stop before WWE's TLC show on Sunday.. The Street Profits retained their tag titles with a win over Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. Bayler pinned Bianca Belair after raking the eyes of Belair and hitting her Rose Plant finisher. Otis beat Shinsuke Nakamura. And Kevin Owens was beaten down by Jey Uso and/or Roman Reigns no less than four times..ahead of his Universal Title match against Reigns on Sunday. (STRINGER: New Japan Results) New Japan Strong last night.. KENTA beat the aforementioned Brody King to hold onto his contract to challenge for the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship. KENTA will carry the briefcase into Wrestle Kingdom..and he made it clear he's ready to challenge Jon Moxley. The only questions are when..and where? PWInsider reports.. Madison Rayne will be leaving Impact Wrestling for a new job outside the pro wrestling business. Kenny Omega and Don Callis are working hard to blur the lines between wrestling and reality. Omega says “it was time” for him to take the AEW World Championship. (Omega On AEW Title) Omega and Callis are both guests on the new episode of Talk Is Jericho. Finally, AEW is in danger of losing its trademark filing for the “Stadium Stampede”. Hell By Nature was first to report the filing has been suspended by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. One of the issues is WWE's trademark for the old WCW pay-per-view “Spring Stampede”. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, December 19. I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Friday, December 18, 2020. This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. Results from Thursday's NXT UK are straight ahead, but first… Ring Of Honor's biggest event of the year - and its first pay-per-view since last December. Final Battle is just hours away. But there's uncertainty surrounding part of the card. Last week, ROH announced EC3, Flamita and Bandido are OUT of the show due to COVID-19 testing protocols. ROH will announce changes to tonight's card during the free First Hour of Final Battle, beginning at 8PM. EC3 was set to battle Jay Briscoe. Flamita and Bandido were going to defend their 6-man tag titles. As for the matches that WILL happen. Rush defends the ROH World Title against Brody King. Jonathan Gresham will wrestle TWICE. He'll defend the Pure Title against Flip Gordon...and he and Jay Lethal will put their tag titles on the line against Mark Briscoe & PCO. Also, Danhausen can secure an ROH contract IF he can beat Brian Johnson. WWE updating the card for Sunday's TLC show. The Fiend vs Randy Orton will now be a Firefly Inferno Match! Also, a rematch from last Friday's Smackdown is set for TLC with Sasha Banks defending her Women's Title against Carmella. A reminder that tonight's SmackDown airs on FS1. The Street Profits are set to defend their tag titles against Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. Also, Bianca Belair faces Bayley. Some interesting names on tonight's New Japan Strong. KENTA is defending his Right To Challenge contract for the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship...against the aforementioned Brody King. Also, Jeff Cobb faces Rust Taylor - who recently signed with WWE and made his NXT in-ring debut just days ago as Tyler Rust. Some big announcements on Thursday's NXT UK A-Kid will challenge WALTER for the UK Championship in the new year. There's no exact date yet. There's a #1 contender's match for Kay Lee Ray's UK women's title coming. Jinny and Piper Niven will meet on the first NXT UK of the new year - on January 7th. Also on Thursday's show, Gallus retained their tag titles against The Hunt.. Trent Seven announced he'll be taking a break from the ring.. And NXT UK unveiled a hot prospect - announcing Ben Carter will soon make his debu. The 22-year-old worked matches for AEW and Impact over the last six months...before signing with WWE. Some injury news. NXT's Cameron Grimes is out of action for the rest of the year. PW Insider reports Grimes underwent surgery last week. Otis is disputing reports that Vince McMahon recently ordered he and other “big guys” back to the Performance Center for additional training. (Otis On PC Work) That's Otis speaking with Fox Sports' Ryan Satin. Impact Wrestling announced the Super X Cup tournament will be part of its Genesis show on January 9th. Jake Crist is now a free agent. He parted ways with Impact a couple weeks before his contract was due to expire. Impact fired Jake's brother Dave and Joey Ryan after the explosion of #SpeakingOut accusations flooded the pro wrestling industry over the summer. Jake was pulled from TV and he said he was essentially “ghosted” by Impact for 6 months until things finally thawed recently. (Jake Crist Impact Departure) Jake Crist on The Wrestling Inc. Daily podcast. Jake added he has no hard feelings toward Impact, and loved his time there. Finally, the site of WrestleManias 4 and 5 will soon meet its end. But first, Atlantic City is holding an online auction for the chance to push the button to implode the former Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino. Money raised will go to the local Boys & Girls Club.
