Join Matthew Ederer as he reviews AEW Dynamite #207: Grand Slam from Arthur Ashe stadium in New York City ft. Eddie Kingston's finest moment, Roderick Strong's sass-matic adjustable hospital bed, and Maxwell Jacob Friedman: hometown hero. We also discuss the reports that Jon Moxley changed the finish to his match on the fly, and was never supposed to lose the AEW International Title to Rey Fenix. Matt has some doubts about that story. Chiefly because the match and storyline was clearly building to Fenix winning, and Moxley taking some time off. But hey, maybe we're wrong. Give us a listen and tell us what you think! It was a newsworthy week across NXT and AEW -- for vastly different reasons -- with some other notable names also finding themselves in headlines. Between breaking down the latest both brands, host Adam Silverstein dives into the latest news and rumors surrounding Edge (off to AEW?), Jade Cargill (off to WWE?) and the Grizzled Young Veterans (leaving NXT) with his take on each development [27:10]. "The Silver King" opens with NXT [3:15] where Becky Lynch defeated Tiffany Stratton to capture the women's title and become the sixth Grand Slam champion. Adam then takes a look at the week in AEW [41:05] led by Bryan Danielson's announcement that he's about a year away from ending his full-time in-ring career. Plus: Carmelo Hayes vs. Ilja Dragunov II, MJF vs. Samoa Joe, a missed opportunity for Baron Corbin, Chris Jericho vs. Sammy Guevara and the hilarity of the adjusted AEW All In: London attendance figure. One week away from Grand Slam and Toni Storm wins the 4 way match to battle fellow Outcast member and women's champion Saraya! Saraya however doesn't seem that impressed with Toni's win. Samoa Joe took on Roderick Strong in the finals of the Grand Slam World Championship eliminator tournament. Do you think Saraya is walking out of Grand Slam still AEW women's champion? Or is Toni not quite as "out of her mind" as she'd lead us to believe? AEW largely hit the reset button this week, while NXT is full-steam ahead to its next premium live event. Host Adam Silverstein opens by diving into the fallout from AEW All Out on a strong edition of AEW Dynamite [3:05], including MJF feuding with Samoa Joe and Roderick Strong, Swerve Strickland confronting Hangman Page, Orange Cassidy being propped up and too much focus on Nick Wayne. "The Silver King" then breaks down the week in NXT [28:15] with Becky Lynch planning to face Tiffany Stratton next week, Bron Breakker slamming Von Wagner with steel steps, Ilja Dragunov and Wes Lee both going after Carmelo Hayes, and Dominik Mysterio helping Mustafa Ali beat Dragon Lee. Plus, a detailed look at the conclusion of NJPW G1 Climax 33 [47:20]. Follow Getting Over on Twitter @GettingOverCast.
Join Matthew Ederer as he reviews AEW Dynamite #205 (09.06.2023 from Indianapolis, IN) ft. Darby v. Nick Wayne, Jon Moxley v. AR Fox(ley), and the two best characters in wrestling right now: Tony Storm and Roderick Strong. Toni isn't much of a surprise, but Roddy? Roderick Strong: character guy. Who'd have thunk it? We also sing the praises of Ricky Starks + Bryan Danielson after their bloodbath of a match last Sunday, and wonder what's next for CM Punk after his messy divorce from AEW.
After a happiness check-in from producer Marjorie, it's All In week! First up, the CM Punk & JB of it all, which of course we love (but there's an addendum that we do love ;))… And then, in the Mommy's Little Elite section, we discuss whether the match order changed, what's up with the Bucks and FTR, and a very important sign at the show. Next it's time for unmitigated joy: Best Friends defeat BCC in a Stadium Stampede match in front of eighty thousand people, because we manifested this. You're welcome! A moment for OC's in-ring promo, and he and Mox will fight at All Out. Adam Cole and MJF won the ROH tag team belt in the pre-show, and in the main event: Roderick Strong begs Adam Cole to hit MJF, but he can't. We discuss: masculinity, vulnerability, fighting with yourself, what made this match so well-executed, what it all means for MJF, and why wrestling men are wrong about this storyline. Plus we check in with the women's division!

Solomonster reviews AEW Dynamite for July 27th, which was mostly a swing and a miss after last week's Blood & Guts show. A couple of good matches and MJF promising an AEW World championship match to Adam Cole, but the best part of the entire show were probably the two seconds MJF took to call Roderick Strong a "default CAW". Also, still waiting on some match announcements for All In, and all eyes seem to be on Collision this Saturday with FTR defending the AEW tag team titles against Cole and MJF.***Follow Solomonster on Twitter for news and opinion:http://www.twitter.com/solomonsterSubscribe to the Solomonster Sounds Off on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/user/TheSolomonster?sub_confirmation=1Become a Solomonster Sounds Off Channel Member:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9jcg7mk93fGNqWPMfl_Aig/joinThis show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5582990/advertisement
Allie shares what's making her happy this week, and then it's on to wrestling, which actually has made us happy as well! First up, MJF and Adam Cole continue to grow their friendship and we discuss the love triangle with Roderick Strong. They'll face Sammy and Daniel Garcia in the finals of the Blind Tag Team Eliminator Tournament, and we examine possible outcomes. Next up, Swerve Strickland defeated new man Nick Wayne and we get into the narratives (and how hot Swerve is). Jericho and Don Callis plus curl talk! And last but not least, in the world of BCC vs the Elite, both groups announce their fifth men for Blood & Guts—love wins!

We start with our Summer Happiness recommendation, but we didn't even need it this week because wrestling itself made us so happy! We had the return of Eddie and Moxley and their marital problems, plus the addition of Renee to the mix; Hangman wanting to be a good friend but being a bad one to the Dark Order; Roderick Strong apparently dealing with how he recently confessed his love to Adam Cole who let him down gently; and after being too intense about how Hook was his best friend, Jungle Boy finally losing it and going heel. Also featuring: how good Kenny Omega/Will Ospreay was, Bryan Danielson's broken arm, and how funny Final Countdown is as an entrance song. It's a PPV week so it's a long one, buckle up!

Join Mike and I as we talk a little bit about the goings on in professional wrestling, what we've been watching which leads me to apologizing to Mike for the news that had broken last time he was on the show. We discuss being more mindful of what you say and the intentions with which you speak, and how it all worked out in the end with Roderick Strong coming out to "The End of Heartache" on AEW recently. We also get into the new Death Ray Vision album, how it has been for the band to go into a more political leaning direction, lyrically anyway, if there was any trepidations with that due to it maybe turning off some long time fans of KSE/Overcast, and some getting thier most recent video flagged for hate speech due to the images of war and such used within. We also touch on Mike's design work, his upcoming exhibit at Bloodstock, and if he'd like to do anything more with selling prints, doing videos of how he creates his art and more in this 2 hour chat with Mike D. The biggest moment of Jay Briscoe's career happened at this show, in the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Possibly the biggest name Ring of Honor had seen in years, Kevin Steen (now Kevin Owens in WWE) was the reigning ROH Champion and had Steve Corino's SCUM stable backing him up. All the odds were stacked against Jay, and this was fantastic! Jay Lethal also did battle with Michael Elgin for #1 contendership at the World Title, the American Wolves faced off against reDRagon for the ROH Tag Titles, Roderick Strong took on "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson, and much more! In the news, we discuss lawsuits over Owen Hart wrapping up (yes, in 2013), controversies over CM Punk (this could literally be any time), Paul Bearer passing and what WWE did about it, Michael Cole changing direction as an announcer, a certain former WWE superstar getting fired from ROH before retiring, and a ton more! One of the biggest moves in pro wrestling history was when TNA Wrestling moved to Spike TV. This happened right after WWE Monday Night Raw left Spike TV to return to the USA Network. TNA Wrestling had never been on national television before so this was a gigantic step for them. The very first match is AJ Styles vs Roderick Strong. The fans voted on the TNA Wrestling website that the very first match on the debut episode was to feature AJ Styles. This really set the pace for the 60 minute adrenaline rush. One thing that TNA did a really good job was making the X-Division very important. One big match we get is Petey Williams vs Alex Shelley vs Chris Sabin. They let them go out and kill it. Raven was the NWA Champion, however there was controversy in Canada as Jeff Jarrett would beat Raven. This would lead to The King of The Mountain teaming up with AMW and Scott D'Amore for Planet Jarrett. Jeff Jarrett would celebrate his NWA Title victory until Team 3D made their debut for TNA Wrestling and cleaned house. Just as Jeff Jarrett looked like he was going to leave, Kevin Nash would show up and inflict punishment to Double J. What a way to start off the new era of TNA Wrestling. AEW Dynamite 4/26/23 full show review with JDfromNY on Off The Script. JDfromNY reviews AEW Dynamite for April 26th, 2023. Roderick Strong makes his AEW debut tonight, joining Adam Cole in a little Undisputed Era reunion against the Jericho Appreciation Society. The Blackpool Combat Club try and lure Konosuke Takeshita away from The Elite, and it goes terribly wrong for him. Orange Cassidy continues his dominance with the AEW International Championship, and MJF doesn't want a "Pillars 4 Way" at Double Or Nothing but Tony Khan makes a swift rule on MJF and his "BROMANCE" with Sammy Guevara.
NXT largely used Spring Breakin' to set the stage for Battleground, while AEW maintained focus on the Four Pillars with Double or Nothing coming up. Host Adam Silverstein breaks down the latest across both brands starting with NXT where Carmelo Hayes and Indi Hartwell retained their titles, Grayson Waller and Pretty Deadly appeared set for the WWE Draft, Bron Breakker returned to the championship picture and numerous injuries rocked the roster. "The Silver King" next dives into the latest from AEW [23:23], including the convoluted booking around MJF's title, Roderick Strong debuting to save Adam Cole from Chris Jericho, Tony Khan's latest announcement, Jade Cargill's latest title defense and more.
