With input from a number of creative and ministry leaders Phil offers practical action steps to help you have a long-term career. Successful people would rather make a wrong decision than no decision at all. As God told Gideons, “Go in the strength that you have…” Judges 6:14 Be willing to take the hits. Take responsibility for bad ideas, stop blaming God, and move on. Be ruthless about your time. Dreaming is great, but doing is what increases influence. If God has called you to do something significant in your life, you’ve got to say no to things. For example, Jesus walked away from certain villages and towns. The power of no can clarify your life in ways you can never imagine. Stop making decisions. Avoid decision fatigue by delegating and streamlining your decision-making process. The worst thing you can possibly do is make a great decision about something that doesn’t matter! Discover your one big thing. Discover what you were born to do! It’s not about passion, it’s about figuring out what God wired you to do. Understand the power of your story. Your story matters and how you integrate that story into your work is going to be the key for your breakthrough in your career or ministry. Remember, God was willing to sacrifice His Son to win your story back and there’s somebody that needs to hear it.

Once again, Sterling's mic is weird. Sorry. Special guest and host of Speak On It Podcast Neysha join Sterling and Kortney for another episode of regular shenanigans. Kortney's favorite movie Jurassic World gets a sequel, where would a tie go on a giraffe's neck, singing in the shower, the greatness that is Bessie Stringfield (and the movie/miniseries we want to see about her life) and what would happen if Beyonce and Lin Manuel Miranda ever met. There's a promo for a Kickstarter project called Wash Day that at the time of recording was halfway to its goal. At the time of publishing this episode, it's at 108%! Still, support it if you can!
