The 2nd annual American Redemption Outing was another great success. Steven and Andrew debrief the trip, and the lessons learned. Here is the incredible request for beer written by Stephen J: Most Gracious Fr. Gomez, Our American Redemption expedition is off to an excellent start. We covered roughly 16 miles in a brisk 4 hours time. There should be no hindrance to our arrival at Smithfield beach for the celebration of the most holy Eucharist tomorrow evening. However, a most troubling predicament dawned upon us men during the praying of our Lady's rosary. To quote the great GK Chesterton, “In Catholicism, the pint, the pipe, and the cross can all fit together”. Being the gentlemen we are, our pipes have been lit and as the smoke rises, so do our prayers to our Lord as we reflect on His passion and cross. But alas, due to to the lack of canoe capacity, we have no pint. It does not seem fitting, given the nature of our endeavor, to not be able to celebrate the Lord's Day and grow in our brotherly fellowship without the refreshing taste of the sweetest fermented beverage that God has put on this earth. Therefore, given our current situation, and the fact that we are meeting you, a man with access to the amenities of the surrounding urban area, we humbly ask that you hear our plee. If you would be so generous to procure us men with a respectable amount of beer, we will be able to compensate you handsomely upon your arrival and you will receive our utmost gratitude. We have fairly decent cellular service at our current campsite so if you can confirm by dawn tomorrow, it would be much appreciated. Thank you and may God keep you safe in your travels.
