EP#42 My daughter has epilepsy Today we are joined by @k.cooper.r who fell pregnant with her daughter Ella at the age of 16. Kat noticed straight from birth that something was not 100% right with Ella. Long story short Kat tells their journal about discovering that Ella has epilepsy, and how she will forever live with this. We discuss the constant testing, drs, hospital trips, and pushing for answers! Kat also gives us some insight of a day in the life of parenting a child who suffers with epilepsy. Kaitlin found out at her 20 week scan that she had CMV (Cytomegalovirus). A virus that affects 1-2 babies everyday in Australia yet most have never even heard of it. She tells the story of losing their angel baby Oscar in hope that it gives others information about the virus and how it can affect your unborn child and ways to prevent it. We discuss CMV, her symptoms, the emotional rollercoaster which was their reality, losing their baby boy, the trauma + grief that comes with it and so much more. Kaitlin shares how she is coping now, the way she seeked help with some amazing people in the Mount Gambier Community and also discusses life with their new baby boy Alfie. TRIGGER WARNING EP#25 Re's story with abortion. Here we go, this being released is very daunting and scary but at the same time it's also like having a weight lifted off my shoulders. I hope that by sharing my experience and story I can help at least one girl who is going through something similar. We discuss finding out i was pregnant at 18/19, having to make a tough life changing decision, living with guilt, mentally struggling, punishing myself (swipe across and you'll see what i mean) and so much more. As we say 1000 times this is just MY EXPERIENCE.
