When an ultra-Orthodox mob attacked two women soldiers in the city of Bnei Brak earlier this week, Israelis were shocked and horrified. But for Uri Keidar, CEO of Free Israel, this violent expression of ultra-Orthodox opposition to being drafted into the military did not come as a surprise. “It’s not the first violent occurrence we have seen, and unfortunately, it probably also won't be the last incident. But it's definitely a sad moment for us as a country,” Keidar said, speaking on the Haaretz Podcast. As the Netanyahu government continues to seek a way to pass legislation exempting tens of thousands of able-bodied ultra-Orthodox men from mandatory military service in order to preserve their political coalition, Keidar sees the country at a “historic” crossroads in which Israelis will stand up and refuse to let it happen. “It's a very basic idea, I think, that the law applies to everyone,” he said on the podcast. In a post-October 7 reality alongside the IDF in a manpower crisis, he said, “the Israeli public just will not accept the fact” that “there are tens of thousands of young haredi men who are totally healthy, who can join the IDF at any given moment, and are refusing to do so.” That refusal, he said, represents the country’s “biggest civil disobedience movement since its history” and Israelis “from the right, left and center” are uniting to oppose it. After launching in 2020, it gained its initial success on Instagram, where it amassed hundreds of thousands of followers by distilling important news stories into swipeable images. It then launched a daily newsletter that's since grown to over 200,000 subscribers.   Most recently, the company has invested heavily in its YouTube channel, sending its on-camera hosts to far-flung locations to interview everyday people about their unique experiences. Each video racks up hundreds of thousands of views, and the channel has grown to close to 600,000 subscribers in a little over a year.   In a recent interview, co-founders Max Towey and Max Frost recounted Roca's origin story, walked through its initial Instagram strategy, and explained how they invented a unique documentary format for their YouTube channel.  

   An ICE agent is attacked while trying to detain an illegal alien criminal in Minnesota and it was three on one.  He's in the hospital and fired a shot a wounded the original suspect.  That suspect is in custody as are the other two that came at the agent with a snow shovel or long tool handle.  It's getting worse for politicians asking people to resist Trump.    A KC media outlet posts the locations of all ICE agents in the city, presumably so agitators could go hassle them while another outlet cries foul that the feds are looking into a reporter that's working with a person committing serious crimes to get her information.    That detention center for criminal aliens coming to KC is getting people riled up, but the dirty business dealing behind it is really nuts.    Josh Hawley has changed his mind on the War Powers act vote as Trump now has a clear path to do what he wants.     In Sports, it appears John Harbaugh will be the next coach of the Giants.  Mizzou heats up after a slow start to take down Auburn and Jerome Tang is the worst coach in the Big 12.  The NCAA has made good changes to the transfer portal and an ESPN announcer makes the strangest race claim I've ever heard.  So sad.
