Hi, I'm Boyder. I'm a content creator, multi-platinum song writer, and entrepreneur. Here's some work: http://bit.ly/BoyderReel Welcome to the Bonus Footage Podcast, where I sit down with other content creators, entrepreneurs, artists, entertainers, and different movers and doers of this sort.…

Colin Rosenblum and Samir Chaudry make cool videos and tell great stories. Please go look at YouTube.com/TheLacrosseNetwork & YouTube.com/ColinAndSamir to see for yourself. In this episode, we talk about how they built and sold The Lacrosse Network, even after they were told by an investment banker that their “videos weren’t even any good” and their platform “will never take off.” Welp, it did. On top of getting The Lacrosse Network acquired, they’ve then went on to create content for New Balance, Nike, Gatorade, Under Armor…and more. We talk about how they used that moment motivation, their mindset on approaching their creative relationship, key elements of visual storytelling, and their partnership with Paul Rabil…who is the Lebron James of lacrosse. There are many moments of this episode that get me amped up. I hope you have a notepad nearby so you can take some notes and then take action on those notes! I’ve always wondered how videos go viral. I want to know every detail that goes into the process. How and why did this piece of content get produced. I appreciate it, even more, when the creators didn’t even seem like they tried. (Search “Bonus Footage” in iTunes to listen in the podcast app!) A couple months ago, I saw a video of a guy doing an impersonation of a Zumiez employee. I loved it. Straight up. You might have seen it too. It was a one take video from a camera phone that lasted 60 seconds. No camera tricks and a lot of personality. On Facebook, that video now has 2.5 million views and the follow-up video has 13 million. (You can watch “Every Zumiez employee ever” and “Life as a Zumiez Employee” here: www.facebook.com/TrevorWallaceComedy Yes, it is hard to manufacture a viral video. You need much more than just one video to build a sustainable career or brand. But sometimes, one video is all you need to get connected with that one opportunity or provide you with the platform to build that brand. Curious to learn more about the man behind these videos, I asked Trevor Wallace to be on the podcast. Trevor Wallace is a stand-up comedian, actor and content creator. In this episode, we discuss what inspired his viral impersonations a Zumiez employee, how he would approach writing a stand-up comedy routine, and the equipment you need to make valuable content. Oh, and he’s much more than just these videos. Go ahead and binge the rest of his content (@TrevWall) before during or after the interview. Thank you for listening! Max Pete hops on this podcast to grace us with this knowledge in digital marketing. He’s worked at digital agency who represents some of the biggest artists in the world, and then he decided he wanted to travel and be a freelancer offering his services to a wide range of clients. He often helps me sort through creative challenges, and I knew we’d have a fun time doing an official interview. In this conversation, Max breaks down why email marketing is the best way to connect with your audience, whether you’re a freelancer or musician, we talk content strategy, and we discuss influencers that have inspired us to do what we do, whatever that is. We also go off on a couple of tangents which include areas of self-confidence, trick shot production, and his advice on how I should put out content. Courtland Bragg is 24 years old and he has an Emmy for being a producer on the HBO documentary series Hardknocks. But that very same year he received the award, Courtland was working an entirely different job in a different industry. It was the point of our conversation to talk about how he made that transition in such a short period of time and his mindset that set him on the right path. Truthfully, a month ago, I didn’t even know who Courtland was. My friend, Chase of Guru Media Group (http://www.instagram.com/GuruMediaGroup), told me he was going to see his friend was speak on campus about an his experience as a producer on Hard Knocks. So I joined. I live in the small college town West Chester, PA, where you don’t hear stories like this too often. (Besides Jackass & QVC of course.) It turns out, that’s exactly why Courtland was speaking on campus, to inspire others through his story to make their own stories. His intention was to show current students what is possible. Three years out of college, he can proudly tout the fact that he has an Emmy next to his name, but Courtland was humble and made it very clear that he believes he’s not anyone special. He just knew what he wanted and put in the work to get it. By the end of Courtland’s talk, I had so many more questions for him, so I asked him to come on the podcast to give us a behind the scenes take on his story. We had a fantastic talk in the park on campus and recorded the whole thing. We talk his journey to his current work, other side passion projects he’s producing, how his first interview was with Dan Marino, and why he dresses so nice. From talking to Courtland, it’s clear that his best work is yet to come, and I’m excited we got to connect before his schedule is too demanding for us little people! Justin Muir is a beast photographer and visual artist. He’s brilliant at making things beautiful. (Here's his IG if you don't believe me...https://www.instagram.com/justinjamesmuir) I admire his work and the way he carries himself as a human, so I asked him some questions. Sometimes, I get intimidated by people like Justin. I see his work and I think - I can never do that. I look at where they are, rather than where they started. Everyone had to struggle to make their first dollar. Everyone who has “made it”, has to experiment with their first project. In this episode, Justin talks about how he got started, tips to help you get off the ground, the psychology of pricing projects, and the evolution of his photography style. A couple moments to note: The biggest misconception of when it comes to what it takes to be a professional photographer. How to make your iPhone photos better. The benefit of tricking people. How he made a book with his photos by accident. How to embrace uncertainty as a creative. Practicing with your art with friends or bae. (Graduation Series) One of my favorite authors Jason Zook is on this episode of the “Do You.” podcast! He’s most notable as the man who made over $1,000,000 by wearing t-shirts, but he has a plethora of other inspiring stand out moments . He's an impressive content creator and his unique approach constantly has me saying ”Why didn’t I think of that?" The highlights of this conversation include: His break-out entrepreneurial moment, What he would do if he had to choose a major or career today, The four books he would recommend to anyone going through a graduation or career change, and even the time he designed Kanye West’s Myspace page. Welcome to the Graduation Series on the Do You Podcast, hosted by me, Boyder. This series is inspired by real life events, of real people, asking very real questions I wish I would have asked when I was graduating. I’ll be releasing these interviews over the next 8 weeks since millions of people will be completing terms of their education during this time. But isn’t just for graduates, these conversations can be applied to anyone embarking on a new horizon. A definition for the word commencement is literally “to start or begin”. Whether you’re leaving high school, college, changing majors or careers, looking to start a business or a passion project, you’ll be able to find a perspective that can help you take a confident first step in the right direction. These are conversations with people who I admire. These are people of influence in their given fields. Some have taken the traditional job route and some have fell right into the world of entrepreneurship. Some have even had a combination of both. We’ve all had to answer the famous question from family, friends, and the world: “So, What are your plans?” Since, “Uhhhhhh” is a very popular answer, I’ve been inspired to delve into this subject, to help lesson the fright of this uncertain period of time. The next steps following that question are what this series of interviews is all about. All of my guests had to face the wrath of that question. Then, they embraced their naivety taking one step at a time and came out the other end to find fulfillment in their work and career. Listen, I’m all about keeping life fun, light, and funky, but hopefully these conversations will help us all “adult” a little better. And our guest on this episode is my friend Bryan Angelo. Bryan is a friend with tremendous work ethic who has a unique vision for design and marketing. He built a business at the age of 18 that eventually led to him landing his dream job. LOVE, BOYD. Check our Bryan's Instagram page here: https://www.instagram.com/emgbryan/?hl=en

Always obsessed with the boundless energy and crisp line work of iconic American mid-century cartoons, by his early teens Greg began using the walls of his native state to fuse these two passions together. Mixing the take-no-prisoners bombast of classic NYC street art with the eagle-eyed precision of mass market illustration and animation has been his goal from the beginning. Further inspired by his deep involvement with skate culture and his intersections with the fashion world, he has become known for pieces that incorporate vivid explosions of incandescent color filtered through a Surrealist Pop Art perspective. Populated by gleefully twisted characters, his world is unsettling, mischievous and uniquely captivating. Currently based in Atlanta, GA, Greg Mike is the founder and creative director of ABV AGENCY / GALLERY, a multi-platform studio specializing in branding, apparel design and visual production. A hub for Atlanta innovators, ABV also functions as a gallery exhibiting artists from around the world, highlighting emerging talents alongside globally recognized names. Listen to his music here: http://www.LukeObrienMusic.com Follow me on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/boyderyo And Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/boydercam - - - - The creative process is something that is different for everyone. I am always fascinated by how people go about making new things. Whether it’s a drawing, a new business, a cupcake, setting up a flower arrangement, a football play, or in the case of our interview podcast today, music. There’s truly something remarkable about bringing something to the world that is unique to you but others will find value in. There’s also many setbacks, fears, and resistance that comes with the process as well. In some cases, millions of people will benefit. In others, no one will ever know your creation. Sometimes creations aren’t meant for everybody and it’s ok if it’s only for you. But through the process there is always growth of experience that you can apply to the next thing you make. The key is to keep practicing the process. Learning about other people’s process can help us along in our journey making things. So today, that’s why I have my singer, song writer, producer, coffee table maker, teacher, neat freak, and friend, Luke O’brien on the podcast to chat about his process and his approach to making stuff. Enjoy. Love, Boyder.
Building a business can be a scary thing. Listen on iTunes: http://bit.do/DicksCottons What business do I choose? Where do I start. How do I find a community that wants to buy my product? What if the world thinks the idea stinks? What makes a good business partner? These are things that mull through my mind everyday, so I decided to spend some time talking to TJ Eaton, who is co-owner of the successful sunglasses company called Dicks Cottons. They just launched the first ever sunglasses subscription model called “Shades Club” which had tremendous success on Kickstarter raising over 800% of their initial goal. Among numerous other gems, I learned from his experience how important it is to find your governing values as early as possible. Some of my favorite moments of our conversation include: Living by the Five “F’s” Business instincts learned from cutting lawns How to protect yourself from social media His morning routine Visualization techniques Three “gratitudes” Creating the first ever subscription model for sunglasses Why a subscription model? What’s good my friends, This is episode #2 of the “Do You” podcast by me, Tom “Boyder” Boyd. In this show I sit down with Matt Miggz, who is a photographer, film producer, and all out creative soul who exhibits a lot of integrity in his work and attitude. He’s produced concepts that have accrued millions of views on YouTube and has been a critical role in creating content for Aer music since the beginning of their career. In this digital age where music brands are being built by tight knit independent teams, the guys behind the camera are becoming almost just as important as the talent. Content needs to happen fast and often to keep the audience’s attention spans. With the rise of demand, there's more and more opportunities to be putting out quality work while moving culture and making a good buck in the process. Not to mention, all it takes is a couple hundred dollars worth of camera equipment complimented by a great eye and a steady worth ethic. Word to our guest in this episode. Tune in to catch Matt chat about some of his stories and how he’s hustled smart to moved his way up the ranks of digital creators in the music industry. Welcome to my podcast. The show is called “Do You”, and I will be sitting down with anyone from entrepreneurs, artists, entertainers, creatives, and different movers and doers of this sort. [Subscribe HERE or on iTUNES: http://bit.ly/DoYouEP1] To be honest, these are conversations I want to have with people because I truly admire them and I am interested in what makes these individuals tick. I’m curious about where they get their inspiration, the stories that have made them “them”, and any other insight that could inspire action. The idea is this, there’s nothing more bad ass than someone who knows what they want to do, sets out to do it, and does a great job at it…all the while seeming to have a lot of fun in the freaking process. That’s what I decided the “Do You” podcast should be all about. In this episode, I catch up with Peter Rosenberg who is one of, if not, the longest tenured morning hosts in New York City’s Hot97 radio history. He is a successful podcaster, has been a personality and created media for many platforms including ESPN, WWE, & E!, and MTV2 to name a few. He’s one of the hardest working humans I know, has very few windows of freedom, so I am very appreciative of the time he made for this introductory podcast of my new show. Key notes from the show: - Peter schools me on on becoming a professional podcaster. - We learn about Peter’s beginnings in radio transitioning to his run at arguable the biggest station in the world for Hip-Hop music. - Peter’s first YouTube video: https://youtu.be/RtBwxZkOhKc - His bromance with Kendrick Lamar - Early indicators of why Scooter Braun is Scooter Braun - The importance of honesty, taking action, and belief in oneself - Thoughts on internet haters - Having “balls” in this entertainment industry - Peter’s assignment for listeners I learned a lot and I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did. Since this is the first podcast and I decided to go sponsorless. Instead, I’ll take this moment to ask you to share the conversation on the social media platform of your choice. Your love is greatly appreciated. Thank you and since this is the beginning, ALL FEEDBACK or suggestions on future guests is welcome. Let’s all have these conversations together.
