I remember being like, 'I can't believe I'm here. I can't believe I'm doing this right now.'" It's been a while since I've done a race recap! This weekend, I ran the United Airlines NYC Half — my first half marathon in two years. With 11 rounds of chemotherapy in the rear view, I felt a major shift this weekend in my favorite city, with so many of my favorite people, doing one of my favorite things. In this solo episode, I'm breaking down the entire weekend (in far too much detail, and with too many stories about parking, turkeys, and eyebrow tinting). From the parties and plays to the 13.1-mile journey from Brooklyn to Central Park, this is my 2026 NYC Half recap — plus, some big updates on the cancer and chemo front. SPONSOR: New Balance. The last time Kimberley May joined the show, she was a 4:27 miler pulling back the curtain on what it takes to compete at the highest level of collegiate running.Since then, her career has accelerated into something much bigger. In early 2025, May ran 8:44.73 for the indoor 3,000m, breaking the Providence College record and posting one of the fastest times in NCAA history. Over the past year, she has also risen to become the second-fastest New Zealand woman ever in both the 1,500m and the mile, cementing herself among the most accomplished middle-distance athletes her country has produced. Her personal bests tell the story of remarkable range and progression: 2:03.46 (800m), 4:04.40 (1500m), 4:27.36 (mile), 8:44.73 (3,000m), and 15:26.50 (5,000m). That 4:04.40 in the 1500m ranks No. 2 all-time in New Zealand history, while her 4:27 indoor mile also sits second-fastest ever by a New Zealand woman. Now, after a historic run at Providence, May is entering the next stage of her career: signing professionally with New Balance and stepping onto the global stage of middle-distance running. From NCAA standout to international contender, the trajectory of Kimberley May is only just beginning.Tap into the Kimberley May Special. As Shoptalk Spring 2026 approaches, one theme is shaping the conversation across the retail industry: AI is moving from experimentation to real-world application. In this episode of the RETHINK Retail Podcast, Fritz Finlay speaks with Joe Laszlo, Head of Content & Insights at Shoptalk, about the ideas and trends expected to define this year's event. Their discussion explores several themes emerging across AI in retail today: - Human-Centric AI As automation expands across retail operations, successful brands are focusing on how technology can enhance, not replace, the human elements of service, connection, and experience. - AI as a Multiplier Rather than asking what roles AI replaces, retailers are increasingly exploring how AI can expand what teams are capable of accomplishing. - From AI Hype to Retail Impact The most valuable AI applications are solving long-standing retail challenges, from merchandising decisions and demand planning to customer engagement and discovery. Joe also shares how these themes are reflected in the Shoptalk Spring 2026 agenda, where leaders from companies such as New Balance, Victoria's Secret, and Reddit will discuss how AI is shaping the next phase of retail innovation.

Emily Mackay joins me on the podcast after a huge moment in her career, winning her first national title in the 3000 meters at the USATF Indoor Championships. Emily is no stranger to the world stage. She competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics and is also a World Indoor bronze medalist, but capturing her first national title was a really special milestone. In this episode we talk all about that race, what it felt like to finally get that win, and what the moment meant after years of competing at such a high level. Emily is sponsored by New Balance and currently trains with Union Athletics Club under coach Pete Julian. Last summer she made the move from Team New Balance Boston to Union Athletics Club, and we talk about that transition, what training has looked like in this new environment, and how the change has helped her continue to grow as an athlete. We also talk about what's next as Emily prepares to compete at the World Indoor Championships in the 3000 meters in Poland. It's always fun catching up with Emily. This is actually her fourth time on the podcast, and it's been incredible to follow her journey over the years and see the progression in her career. In "Is Your ERP a Data Graveyard: How to Unlock Millions with Nauta's Valentina Jordan", Joe Lynch and Valentina Jordan, Co-Founder and CEO of Nauta, discuss how structuring fragmented data turns supply chain silos into actionable revenue. About Valentina Jordan Valentina Jordan is the Co-Founder and CEO of Nauta, where she is re-engineering supply chains through clean AI data infrastructure. Previously, Valentina led product for Rappi's largest business segment, helping build and scale the core product stack behind Latin America's largest delivery platform, before bringing that same operational rigor to leadership roles at Amazon. At Nauta, Valentina brings a product-first, systems-level perspective to rethinking how supply chains operate, tackling the industry's most foundational challenge: building clean, structured data infrastructure that enables smarter decision-making. About Nauta Nauta is the AI-native operating system that connects your inventory, logistics, and procurement data into one intelligent layer. By acting as an intelligent membrane over existing ERP, TMS, and WMS systems, Nauta eliminates "data graveyards" by unifying fragmented data from emails, documents, and spreadsheets into a single source of truth. The platform moves beyond simple visibility, providing SKU-level insights and automated workflows that allow shippers to proactively manage exception handling and cash flow. Trusted by multinational leaders in the food, beverage, and retail sectors including distributors for brands like New Balance, Modelo, and L'Oreal, Nauta manages data for enterprises representing over $15B in annual sales. SOC 2 Type II certified, the platform empowers manufacturers and retailers to reduce container lifecycle times, prevent stockouts, and eliminate costly penalties like detention fees. Nauta's mission is to provide the standardized "rails of data infrastructure" necessary for truly autonomous and resilient global supply chains. Key Takeaways: Is Your ERP a Data Graveyard: How to Unlock Millions In "Is Your ERP a Data Graveyard: How to Unlock Millions with Nauta's Valentina Jordan", Joe Lynch and Valentina Jordan, Co-Founder and CEO of Nauta, discuss how structuring fragmented data turns supply chain silos into actionable revenue. The "Data Fragmentation" Mess: Global shippers are stuck with data trapped in emails, PDFs, and clunky legacy systems. This chaos forces teams to waste 75% of their day babysitting spreadsheets instead of making moves that actually scale the business. One Single Source of Truth: Nauta fixes this as an AI-native engine that pulls those messy data streams into one place. From finance to procurement, everyone works off the same live data—killing "tribal knowledge" for good. The Real Cost of Stockouts: For brands like Modelo or L'Oreal, a stockout isn't just a missed sale; it's a hit to your reputation and a massive financial penalty. Nauta shifts you from reactive "firefighting" to proactive prevention. Saving Millions in Revenue: Using predictive analytics, Nauta's inventory engine flags risks weeks in advance. One customer even saved $1.2M in a single quarter by dodging retail penalties and lost sales. Killing "Dry Runs" and Fees: Shippers pay for empty trucks because they can't see what's happening at the port. Nauta's predictive tech and automated communication can slash detention costs by up to 80%. SKU-Level Control: Most platforms track the box; Nauta tracks the product. We map data down to the individual item, so you know exactly which vessel is carrying your high-priority promotional stock. Smarter Procurement: With SKU-level insights, your team can make surgical decisions—like rerouting high-demand items before they even dock—ensuring the right product hits the right shelf every time. Recorded live in the Narvar Podcast Studio at NRF Big Show, Steve Dennis and Michael LeBlanc sit down with Dan Frommer, the iconic tech journalist and Founder of The New Consumer, to explore the forces reshaping retail and consumer behavior. Frommer challenges the prevailing “vibecession” narrative, arguing that despite low consumer sentiment readings, spending remains resilient. Drawing on proprietary survey data from 3,000 U.S. consumers, he outlines a nuanced picture: younger consumers are increasingly digital-first, deeply connected to creator culture, and entering their peak earning and spending years. Millennials show the highest trust in AI, while Gen Z is more skeptical about automation's impact on work and identity. GLP-1 medications are seen as a game changer, driving shifts in spending. Health and longevity also take center stage, with more than 40% of Gen Z and Millennials in “health optimization mode.” Frommer highlights TikTok Shop's explosive rise as creator-led commerce flips marketing economics. In the news segment the hosts discussion how the Supreme Court's IEEPA tariff ruling triggers chaos for retail. With up to 70% of tariffs affected, pricing and supply chain uncertainty now dominate. Retailers face refund confusion, volatility, and political storms. Walmart posts strong earnings but signals a slowing trend. Half of its e-commerce orders ship from stores, three-hour delivery reaches most Americans, and retail media surges ahead. Wayfair gains share in a struggling home market, but staying unprofitable raises tough questions. In the “Remarkable Story of the Week” of the week, Aritzia acquires Fred Segal's intellectual property, as plans to resurrect the storied West Coast fashion retailer. On the radar: sneaker wars intensify as New Balance nears $10B in revenue and Nike navigates turnaround pressures at Converse. QVC also is reportedly mulling a Chapter 11 filing. Can you really call yourself the world’s biggest retailer if your edge comes from the cloud? In this episode, hosted by Michelle Martin with Ryan Huang, we unpack how Amazon dethroned Walmart in 2025 revenue - but only thanks to AWS. Strip out cloud, and the retail crown looks very different. We examine Walmart’s softer profit print, its quiet online gains, and why its stock is beating Amazon year-to-date. Ojito que nuestra familia New Balance viene fuerte. ¡No se lo pierdan! Boston has been a creative powerhouse for decades. While agencies like Mullen, The Barbarian Group, Modernista, and Hill Holiday have all left their mark, Arnold continues to this day, alongside smaller agencies like Colossus, to make a mark with national work (think Progressive Insurance) that makes most of us jealous. Boston also houses many in-house agencies at companies including The LEGO Group. Shark Ninja, Staples, Liberty Mutual, New Balance, Puma, etc. We talk about all this and more with many of the people at its center. Thanks to Tracksuit, Ipsos and the Effies for supporting our live tour.
"It's nice to have a reset. I'm looking at these people and I have something to work up to now, versus being at the top of the NCAA and hoping you get it right on the day. Now, I have, 'I need to improve by ten seconds if I want to be up there at USAs.' That kind of excites me. It's a little scary, but it's mostly exciting."Margot Appleton is a Massachusetts native now running for the home team. She has joined Team New Balance Boston and is being coached by Mark Coogan. At Virginia, she was an NCAA finalist in the 1500, stepped up to finish fourth in the 5000 meters at nationals, and then this spring put together a breakout campaign that included a 4:05.68 1500 at Raleigh Relays—fourth-fastest in NCAA history at the time—an ACC title, and a runner-up finish at the NCAA Championships.Margot is comfortable moving between distances and continuing to sharpen herself against the very best in the country. And at just 23 years old, it still feels like she's learning how good she can be. She is coming off personal bests in the 3000m and the mile at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix and the Millrose Games. She was the second American and 6th overall in the Wanamaker mile.In this conversation, we talk about her decision to join the refreshed Team New Balance Boston squad, what clicked this past season, how she thinks about racing at championship meets, and what her goals are for 2026.____________Host: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavez on InstagramGuests: Margot Appleton | @margotappleton on InstagramProduced by: Jasmine Fehr | @jasminefehr on Instagram____________SUPPORT OUR SPONSORSUSATF: The USATF Indoor Track and Field Championships presented by Prevagen are back in New York City from February 28th to March 1st at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island. “That year at Providence was really special with what we all went through together. It was such a fun year! We were all very solid and united together. It ended up in a perfect way being able to continue that training together.” - Alex Millard Kimberley May, Shannon Flockhart, and Alex Millard join us us fresh into the next chapter of their careers as members of Team New Balance Boston. All three join the team with deep NCAA pedigrees, international experience and very different paths that somehow converged at exactly the right moment. Kimberley May leaves college as one of the most accomplished 1500-meter runners in New Zealand history. Shannon Flockhart brings European championship medals and championship toughness. Alex Millard arrives fresh off world cross country relay experience and fresh off a year that included personal bests in the 1500m, mile and 5000m.In this conversation, they talk about what it actually feels like when the dream becomes real to signing pro contracts, navigating the transition from NIL relationships. We touch on their shared history as teammates at Providence and how that's made the leap into the professional ranks easier, what altitude training was like, and why being around a group that includes a world champion has raised everyone's standard. There's also plenty of joy in the year ahead with new routines. "Sometimes you've just gotta be a little bit fearless." The last time Roisin Willis was on the Ali on the Run Show, the "fastest high schooler in American history" at the time was fresh off earning a gold medal in the 800m at the USA Track and Field U20 Outdoor Championships, and was headed to Stanford University. (Listen to that episode here.) Now, the middle-distance runner is wrapping up her time at Stanford — and she's gone pro! The two-time NCAA 800m champion opted to forgo her remaining NCAA eligibility in favor of signing a professional contract with New Balance, and she just made her pro racing debut with a stellar indoor season. In this conversation, Roisin talks about racing at New Balance Indoor Grand Prix (she ran and won the 800m), at Boston University (she ran 1:57.97, becoming the first American woman to break 1:58 indoors, and breaking the American record in the event), and at the Millrose Games (she won the 600m). She also talks about her struggles with mental health during her time at Stanford, and about the tools that helped her through the hardest days. Plus, a peek at what's next. (First: midterms!) “I saw the door open and I really desperately wanted to take it and walk through it, but I wasn't sure if it was right – but sometimes you know deep down in your gut that it's something you should do and you take the risk. Since making that decision, it's felt right and true to what I want to do and where my goals are."My guest for today's episode is Roisin Willis. Right now, she's in one of those rare moments where fitness, confidence, and clarity all seem to be lining up at once. We recorded this two days before the start of a spectacular weekend for her. It's Team New Balance week on the CITIUS MAG Podcast and we'll be bringing you interviews with many of their latest signees all throughout the week. In 2026, we're celebrating six years of New Balance partnering with CITIUS and we're grateful for their support on all levels from the high school to the pros.In the span of just nine days, Roisin put together a short yet impactful indoor season. She opened up her professional career by running 1:59.59 at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, looking smooth and convincing. Six days later, after deciding almost on a whim to race again, she went to Boston University and ran 1:57.97, becoming the first American woman to break 1:58 indoors and setting a new American record in the 800m. That's also a personal best for her indoors and outdoors, and she wasn't done yet. Just two days after that record, Roisin lined up at the Millrose Games and won the 600m in 1:24.87, the seventh fastest performance by an American woman in history. Three races in nine days, two victories, one American record, and proof that she's in absolutely phenomenal shape.Roisin has made the decision to shut down her indoor season. The reason for it is she has a long-term vision and a real life, which you get the sense from my conversation with her. She wants to be at a world-class level come outdoors and that means getting back to training. As she puts it plainly, she also needs to finish school at Stanford this spring. You'll hear more about the importance of finishing her degree in our chat because at just 21 years old, Roisin has already lived multiple chapters in the sport. She was a high school prodigy out of Wisconsin, became an NCAA champion as a freshman, went through a difficult period marked by anxiety and burnout, and has now come out on the other side with a healthier perspective. This recent run isn't just about how fast she's gotten, but also shows how much she's grown as a person. In this interview, we talk about the decision to chase times this year, how she made it through that rough patch, and why she decided to turn professional early.____________Host: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavez on InstagramGuest: Roisin Willis | @roisin.willis on Instagram Produced by: Jasmine Fehr | @jasminefehr on Instagram____________SUPPORT OUR SPONSORSUSATF: The USATF Indoor Track and Field Championships presented by Prevagen are back in New York City from February 28th to March 1st at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island. Episode 413 of The VentureFizz Podcast features Scott Savitz, Founder and Managing Partner of Data Point Capital and Founder & former CEO of Shoebuy.com which is now known as Shoes.com. In my opinion, Boston doesn't give itself enough credit, especially when it comes to consumer brands. It's the home to consumer icons like Bose, SharkNinja, Dunkin, TJX, and many more. But if you look at the footwear category, it is a powerhouse with leading brands like New Balance, Converse, Sperry, Keds, Rockport and next generation companies like NoBull, Oofos, and BRUNT. So, maybe it comes as no surprise that one of the first companies to sell footwear online was headquartered in Boston and yes, that is Shoebuy. This was back in 1999, when buying shoes online wasn't a thing and even Zappos was just getting started. Thus, I was excited to break down this major eCommerce success story that completely disrupted an industry on so many different levels. Today, Scott is a Venture Capitalist and his firm, Data Point Capital, invests in revenue-stage technology companies across both B2B and B2C categories. The firm's portfolio includes DraftKings, Rent The Runway, Resident, Black Kite, Jebbit, and others. In this interview, we cover: * Scott's background story and early professional experience in the mortgage and banking industry. * What it was like building a company in the early days of eCommerce and ignoring the naysayers. * How Shoebuy won over the brands and the details about their - at the time - innovative virtual inventory model. * Strategies around customer acquisition combined with a focus on capital efficiency to scale the business. * The story of the acquisition to IAC. * What led Scott down the path of starting Data Point Capital and what they are targeting for investments. * And more
"Your person doesn't need you to be perfect. They just need you to be there and show up, and bring as much positivity and lightheartedness as possible. There are going to be times when it gets really heavy and hard, and if you can bring a little levity, a little humor, it goes a long way." On December 30, 2025, I was up at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for my ninth round of chemotherapy. This time around, I was joined by my dear friend Seema Mack, who is president and CEO of KidsVax, a mom (to Sloane, 8, and Reese, 5), a wife, and an amazing friend. This is our [way too long] recap from the day at the infusion center, plus the story of how we met, and a bit about what makes Seema "The Magic Maker." Woody returns to the Bud Light Studio and suddenly it's 2013 again — except now everyone's older, colder, and way more into arguing about shoes. This episode of The Rizzuto Show is a full-blown comedy podcast reunion that spirals immediately into chaos, as Rizz and Woody pick up exactly where they left off… which is apparently roasting California people for being weak in the cold, questioning why scarves exist, and debating whether New Balance, Hokas, or Nikes are officially “dad shoes” this week.Things escalate quickly when the guys break down the modern shoe game, how trends make zero sense, and why no one under 25 wears no-show socks anymore. From there, it's a straight shot into the wild world of Facebook Marketplace deals that are absolutely stolen, including microwaves pulled from sketchy storage units and a $3,000 TV somehow purchased for $300. No red flags. Totally normal behavior. Then Woody casually drops the fact that he now flies planes — because of course he does. The conversation turns into stories about fighter jets, Thunderbirds, puke planes, skydiving disasters, and why his plane has a literal parachute for the entire aircraft. Somehow this leads to musicians who fly themselves to gigs, Dexter Holland from The Offspring being smarter than all of us combined, and Moon once again questioning every life choice that involves aviation.Just when you think things might calm down, the show takes a hard left turn into legendary Hotshots stories — glitter disasters, wet t-shirt contest bathwater, people doing unspeakable things in parking lots, and the horrifying realization that many of those memories are now over a decade old. It's uncomfortable, hilarious, and deeply on brand. This episode is everything you want from a daily comedy show: old friends, dumb arguments, unbelievable stories, and absolutely no attempt to stay on topic. If you like sarcastic humor, weird news energy, and conversations that feel like they should not be happening on the radio, this comedy podcast episode delivers.Hit play, laugh uncomfortably, and remember why this is your favorite comedy podcast to begin with.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshowConnect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MOSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Welcome to your daily comedy podcast, where absolutely nothing makes sense and we like it that way.Today's show kicks off with a story that nobody asked for but everyone will remember forever: a 73-year-old former born-again Christian reinventing herself as an escort named Busty Granny. She spent decades in prayer and celibacy, then hit 57, downloaded the internet, and said “oh… THIS is what we've been missing.” Now she's got clients young enough to still have homework and zero interest in OnlyFans because, quote, that sounds boring. Inspirational? Traumatizing? Both. Then we get into the most depressing career math of all time: a woman casually sings seven words into her phone for a Dr Pepper jingle and walks away with $2 million, while the rest of us are out here working full-time jobs and eating gas-station sandwiches. Naturally, this leads to the crew trying to invent jingles for every brand that will absolutely never call back.Somehow that spirals into one of the most fun debates we've had in a while — the biggest debut albums of all time. We're talking massive numbers, MTV miracles, and how one 4am spin turned a “failed” album into a 50-million-copy monster. Along the way we argue, forget basic facts, remember them loudly, and realize radio used to be way more powerful than TikTok will ever admit.Movies get dragged (respectfully… mostly), Brendan Fraser gets the comeback love he deserves, and we debate whether seeing a movie in a theater automatically adds two letter grades just because popcorn exists.Woody returns to the Bud Light Studio and suddenly it's 2013 again — except now everyone's older, colder, and way more into arguing about shoes. Rich Morrell and Lucy Jones sit down to unpack an absolutely wild weekend of athletics, starting with the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, where records were falling left, right, and centre. They get into Josh Hoy's ridiculous indoor 800m world record, how it actually played out, and why it felt inevitable once the pace wound up. There's also plenty of love for Hobbs Kessler, whose calm, metronomic run to a 2000m world record had everyone watching in disbelief. Add in Jake Wightman breaking the British indoor record, and it's a reminder of just how deep and competitive middle-distance running is right now.On the women's side, the chat turns to a stacked 3000m, with standout runs from Elle St. Pierre and Linden Hall, plus a wider look at the young athletes starting to mix it with the established names. Rich and Lucy also talk through why athletes like Izzy Boffey and Ellie Baker are becoming serious players in the women's 800m.To wrap things up, attention shifts to the London Marathon, with a proper look at the loaded elite fields and why the hype is more than justified this year. With records being broken, careers taking off, and races delivering every weekend, this episode captures why track and field is in such a good place right now.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-running-pod-trackstaa/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Over the last week, the beauty industry has seen the closure of three major makeup brands: CoverFX and Mally Beauty are shuttering, while Pat McGrath Labs, once valued at $1 billion, is headed to bankruptcy. This comes on the heels of unexpected 2025 closures that included Ami Colé, Drew Barrymore's Flower Beauty, REN Clean Skincare, Apostrophe telehealth skincare and Gwyneth Paltrow's mass line Good.clean.goop. At the helm of two of these brands, CoverFX and Mally Beauty, is AS Beauty CEO Joey Shamah, the founder and former CEO of E.l.f. Cosmetics. “We've been coined as a purchaser of distressed assets [at AS Beauty], but we're not only buying [brands in] distress,” Shamah told Glossy. “We look at them in three buckets. Distressed or challenged is definitely one of them, a second one is divestitures, … and then the third way is similar, but different, where private equity funds have invested in a company, and their funds are sunsetting, so they're looking to exit.” AS Beauty was founded in 2019 by Shamah and three co-founders. It is the parent company of CoverFX and Mally Beauty, as well as Laura Geller, Julep and Bliss. While the latter two were sunset this past week, Laura Geller has grown more than 10x to over $300 million in sales, Julep has been the No. 1 selling eyeshadow brand on Amazon for several consecutive years, and Bliss has evolved into a multi-category lifestyle brand, according to AS Beauty. In total, AS Beauty's annual revenue is around $500 million, Shamah told Glossy. Shamah is also the founder and operator of Fit for Life, a fitness equipment licensing company behind brands like GAIAM, New Balance and Fila. AS Beauty purchased Mally Beauty and CoverFX in 2021 and 2022 from investment firms Beauty Visions and L Catterton Partners, respectively. In today's episode, Shamah joins the Glossy Beauty Podcast to discuss the decision to shutter CoverFX and Mally Beauty — at least for now, we learned — and the economic pressure that led to the decision. He also discussed the challenges of running an underperforming brand, the warning signs that a brand is in distress, and the way an operator comes to the decision to sell, shutter or file bankruptcy.

And he talks about how the sneaker brand's 120-year-history helps New Balance operate like a challenger brand focused on the future.

Without putting too fine of a point on things… getting old sucks. Along with mysterious sleep injuries, aches that seem to predict the weather, losing hair in desirable places only for it to pop up in less desirable places like kudzu on steroids, and seeing that first AARP letter show up in the mailbox with your name on it – there's also the unconscious urge to begin every other sentence with “back in my day”. Thus have we arrived at the topic of today's show, the announcement of rock music uttered by every damn near every Dad with a pair of white New Balance sneakers to their name. But nay, we say! In this, episode 232, we throw out an unpopular opinion - that Rock Isn't Dead, You're Just Old And Lazy! FULL VIDEO EPISODES! "I run with all dogs, any dogs." Lauren "Fithy" Hunnewell is the North America running events manager for New Balance. She is the New York Road Runners partnership lead, so she works super closely with the NYRR team on events including the New York City Half, the Fifth Avenue Mile, and, of course, the New York City Marathon. So, Lauren has a super fun job. She also does something really amazing every Monday and Friday morning: She runs with shelter dogs. Twice a week, every week, no matter the weather, Lauren goes to her local animal shelter to take the dogs for runs. Over the past two years, Lauren has logged more than 500 miles with dogs who need homes. In 2025 alone, she ran with 33 unique breeds. In this conversation, Lauren, who has run more than 40 marathons, talks about how she became an animal lover, and how she ended up volunteering at the Animal Rescue League down the street. In this episode, I sat down with Olympic gold medalist Gabby Thomas while I was in San Antonio for The Running Event, and it was such a fun, inspiring conversation. Gabby had an incredible 2024 season where she won gold in the 200 meters in Paris and was part of the gold medal 4×100 and 4×400 teams. She runs for New Balance, studied neurobiology at Harvard, and went on to earn her master's in public health, so we talk about how her academic background shapes the way she thinks about performance, health, and life beyond the track. We get into what it actually felt like to win that individual gold, how she handled the pressure of the Olympic Games, what she's learning in this phase of her career, and what she's dreaming about as she looks toward LA 2028. We also chat about her partnership with Amazfit, how she uses their watch in training and racing, and why this season has been so meaningful to her both on and off the track.
