funny, show, great.
Listeners of Chicago Film Scene: Live! that love the show mention: interested,What's better than one episode? Three, but at least there are two for now. I hope you believe me when I say that I'll start uploading these regularly again, but you can't trust, and I can't be trusted.
Nothing changes, time is a flat circle, and truth does not exist
Take them down, pass them around
Once again, on our regularly unregular schedule, all the homies hate cancel culture. We still have love for Blade, though. Max is back...for now. He fills us in on his newest venture cinespot.co, What's up with Paramount+? We discuss our favorite remakes and reboots, and before you know it, BADA BING, you got yourselves a podcast. See you again next month.
You can't keep good guys locked down! We're back and just as mediocre as ever. Speaking of, How about The Little Things? We'll talk you out of watching that along with WW84. Wallstreet Bets is keeping AMC afloat, Nolan leaves Warner Bros., and would you get a roadside Vaccine? You're still doing great. Hang in there! Happy New year.
We're Back! After a much-needed break, we're back to cover all the topics that matter. What's the highest-grossing film in Croatia? Did we really need home alone to tell us not to be mean to old people? What's worth watching in the final days of this misery marathon known as 2020? We'll be switching it up for the new year and having a show or two a month., Hopefully, in-person and off of Zoom ASAP. Thank you for being a friend. Your heart is true; you're a pal and a confidant: Merry Christmas and happy new year.
We'll be back, and hopefully, you will be too. I didn't forget about the trivia challenge. Stay Tuned.
This is a pretty straight forward topic rundown but if you imagine Micheal Caine Reading it, it's infinitely more interesting. -Welcome back, Nick -Racism ruins Duck Tales -Are you a vaccine early adopter? -Dick made to order -The Old Guard -The Batman -Bigger Baller T'Challa or Smaug? -Gandalf: war criminal -Roku v. HBO (who gets the kids on the weekends?) -Netflix Spends 200 Million for 'The Grey Man' -Grammar errors in episode descriptions. and, such -CFS trivia clue #2 Which martial arts movie was chosen as the bracket winner in the most controversial and unjust episode of this podcast? Moving the prize date back. Keep track of your answers and await instructions. Keep wearing your masks and washing your hands so we can get back to creating things, please. Love you 3000.
On this week's lesser-known show about nothing, The guys manage to make a Lord of The Rings length episode of meandering nonsense and love every minute of it. Might do it again next week. What else do have to do? Before I forget, Let's play a game. Tune into CFS every week for clues if you want in on CFS Trivia. I'll be handing out a dope prize on August 8th just because you guys kick ass! Question #1 What bottles of booze are on Dennis Plinkton's Desk in the critically acclaimed short film, Bulk Bogan vs. The Dooley Brothers? https://youtu.be/t9wdqSYGuvI
Star-Spangled fuckery from sea to shining sea. *insert something witty here*
Whaddup?! I hope everyone is staying safe + sane out there. This is the first of a cache of episodes to be released this week. I just want to get it all out there so we're caught up. With that being said, in this episode, we're going to let you know what we're watching and give a shoutout to the good things the great folks at Cinespace are up to. Also, Joe just refuses to quit writing articles for chicagofilmscene.com We ask the tough questions, Such as: How would you slowly drive someone to insanity? Also, the Aum Shinrikyo death cult, what up with that? Truly never yours, Wan
We need to talk. This isn't working for me and I think it's time we move on. I mean, it's not like between the graveyard of cancellations, shows that have overstayed their welcome, werewolves not getting their fair shake, and spending all of your time "world-building" that you ever have time to work on us. All you do is talk about the walking of the talking of the dead. You're more concerned with debating if 30 Rock is better than Parks and Rec or if True Detective is better than Fargo. We'll always have the good times. Like, when Aaron got punked by Ania during this recording, Chris Hemsworth beating children, and definitively putting to rest the great Star Wars debate but I think this has run its course. I need some space. maybe a trial week-long separation. Either way, I wish you all the best and I hope we can still be friends.
The Chicago Film Scene dedicates an entire episode to discussing whether or not George R.R. Martin has a model train collection. A lot of you asked for this, so don't get mad! Join at https://chicagofilmscene.com
The hits just keep on coming. Once again we're going to tell you what's worth a watch. Also, - What is the state of the romantic epic today? - Parks and Rec follows our lead and moves to Zoom - Aaron commits film blasphemy and reviews Lighthouse - Who remembers Spicy City? - AMC V. NATO - Hbo Max and American Pickle - Lovecraft Country _Oscars changes. En garde!
Giving you the least we can since 2019! Kinda phoned it in this week. (where else will you get this kind of honesty?) However, Max gives us a reboot update. Speaking of Max, HBO Max is dropping May 27th. What's on your 420 watchlists? Bad Robot is making stuff... yadda, yadda, yadda, podcast. Later.
Audio issues strike again. (brought to you by anchor.fm) However, the CFS Crew just keeps on truckin'. In this episode, Aaron, Joe, and Wan give you the fresh news and hot takes from weeks ago. Due to the aforementioned audio problems, Aaron was forced to bow out early. Never fear Wan and Joe are still here. Stay safe. xoxo -Gossip Hoe
Dear, listener. I am writing to you regarding the podcast that we record (almost) every week. I hope that this is bringing you a modicum of joy in these confusing times. May these dick jokes and rants carry you through your darkest days. Enclosed you will find the items you previously requested: Thoughts on the state of local weed delivery services during a pandemic, Max's Reddit bday, Martin Scorcese's bloated budget, Disney's live-action Robin Hood remake, Storytime with Aaron (how do you say whore in polish?) Vampires suck, Joe finally busts a rhyme, Dune stills released by Vanity Fair, Movie purgatory, time travel, and *deeeeep breath* the Arrogant Frog general store. Peace /pēs/ noun 1. freedom from disturbance; tranquility. 1. INFORMAL•US used as a friendly greeting. verb INFORMAL•US leave. "I woke up at seven, thanked my host, and peaced out"
It was all good in February. Truth be told, I treated editing these episodes like a chore. After all, it takes a lot of effort to make us sound like we know what we're talking about. I must say that it's refreshing to listen back and have a few laughs to myself while we hit the pause button and take stock of what's important. It was great to have Vanna and Danny on to speak about their short film, The Yellow Wallpaper and the lessons they learned making a project on a small budget. Later, we were joined by Audrey and the devil herself, Kristen McCabe, to discuss Brit Marling's recent op-ed in the New York Times. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/07/opinion/sunday/brit-marling-women-movies.html We're not going anywhere... No, Literally we're staying inside for the time being but we're still the F*cking scene! - Wash your hands - keep your distance but keep your loved ones close - catch up on that show you've been meaning to check out - stay tuned All the best, -Wan
The Scene asks the tough questions. - What's up with Wan's eye this week? - What does Parasite winning Best Picture mean for expectations going forward? - Eminem? - the line between method acting and irresponsibility - Do we deserve to have Kristen drop so many marketing gems? - Can we afford it? - Is Ford v. Ferrari a great dad movie? chicagofilmscene.com
