On this week's episode of the #EShow, we feature a program that is racking up their total number of appearances at the Frozen Finals, the Railers Jr. Hockey Club. Jake Basile chats with Sean Bertoni, as the Head Coach and GM looks back on last season, but also ahead with his sights set on redemption this upcoming year. Both teams, EHL and EHLP, made their 2nd Frozen Finals appearances this past March, and the sting of how each season ended, has given Bertoni, his staff, and the rest of the Railers extra motivation this off-season. Tack on last year's 11 NCAA Commitments, and on top of the success in the win column, Bertoni and the Railers have already helped 35 players advance to the next level, in just four seasons in the league. The Railers have developed their own model, and they're chugging along.

Click on the link below for more... https://www.trustthelink.com/what-is-the-appeal-of-model-trains-10-reasons/ Hey, wutz going on. I have a friend who is really into these model trains and I've been curious why, so I asked him and did some digging and found out some things that I wanted to share. According to my friend, the largest reason to start a model railroad for him was its therapeutic value. It's really just to escape from the world and all the craziness and focus on something you can control. There is a stress-reducing element to them. There are also some health benefits. According to Nancy Bowers a therapeutic specialist, if someone has dementia the railroad can have a profound impact. There is is also physical and cognitive benefits. Plus, what's cool about them is you can do it with someone like a friend or family member or solo. Then you have the educational benefits of problem-solving, creativity, developing patience, engineering, and electronics Another interesting thing about model trains is nostalgia. Some people have fond memories of building them when they were a kid. Some people got their first set at Christmas Time and bringing some of these happy memories back as they get older is part of their appeal of them. Then you have the branding of a model railroad. In the 1950s they "really" got more popular as more people moved to the suburbs and had more space. The model railroad even groups, secret clubs, stores, and even events dedicated to them. Even Tom Hanks the actor loves them. The most interesting thing I think about them is it combines many things from landscapes, painting, technology, history, transportation, engineering, and electronics. Imagine the world if trains didn't exist? In the U.S. Alone 40% of long-distance freight is moved on trains. If you want to learn more unique things about model trains, as well as a few ideas on how to get started which is the hardest part click on the link below or go to trustthelink.com. Bye for now.
Our story tonight is called Model Trains and Make Believe and it's a story about a tiny world full of bustling streets and railroad tracks. It's also about a red and white box of popcorn, a dining car with white table clothes and being never too old to imagine. https://linktr.ee/nothingmuchhappens

Rainy Hamilton Jr., is captivated by trains — so much so that he has transformed the basement of his English Tudor home in Detroit's University District to make room for a massive model train setup.Trains are colorful, he says. They move people and goods. And they are always going somewhere."I'm tempted to actually write a song or a poem in terms of what is the attraction to model railroading," he said. "People that know me have come to listen to the sound of the train whistle..."Hamilton's career is definitely on track these days, with his architecture firm Hamilton Anderson Associates having a hand in one of the largest projects in the city, the Hudson's site development, as well as smaller efforts like The Hamilton apartments, his firm's building at Harmonie Park and the Motown Museum expansion, among others.Hamilton was born, raised, and educated in Detroit – and built his business here in the city.
