This episode features ‘The Apprentice' - a film about young Donald Trump building his business in the '70s and '80s in America as he was mentored by the famously ruthless lawyer Roy Cohn. Canadian 1st Assistant Director Joel Hay takes us behind the scenes of this brilliant film. It is not a conversation about political views, controversies or accusations. It is about how this very important film was made. We are talking not only about the incredible acting performances by Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong, their wigs and the genius prosthetics work by the hair and makeup team but also about the directors unique style of working and filming a hair transplant as well as a difficult rape scene. On top of that we are touching the subject of finishing days too early, finding locations that exist in real life to recreate in Canada without a Location Manager and doing all of this in a little over 30 days. Have lovely Christmas holidays and enjoy the last episode of this year. And as always, if you have any thoughts, ideas or guest requests for the future, we are happy to hear from you. Job Tales - I interview professionals to help you become who you wish to be
My one hundredth episode is out! What a journey! What better job to celebrate than a Film Location Scout! Rico Bailey is a Film Location Scout and a Location Manager. The two jobs are complementary, yet not always taken by the same person. Rico and I met on the set of Black Sails at the Cape Town Film Studios back in 2013! The job of a location scout allows you to discover beautiful sites, to be in the outdoors a lot, and to get to work directly with the film director and the key departments of a film production. There's also much more behind this profession and yes, paperwork is part of it. But! Enough with me. Here's Rico!

In part two of this interview with Location Manger Caleb Duffy he talks about hiking a mountain with Sean Peen, the locations of Behind the Candelabra and the Netflix movie Wine Country and much more.
In this episode I talk with Location Manager, Caleb Duffy.I have been working with Caleb Duffy for the past 3 years on the show VEEP and The Good Place, He's a super chill guy that no matter how rearranged the schedule gets and flying minute by minute he always keeps his cool. And believe me on VEEP things changed every thirty seconds sometimes. I know how hard he worked on VEEP to get the locations every episode… some episodes as many as 20 or more.In preparing for this interview I looked him up on IMDB, which I don't think I had before, and I had no idea the resume this guys has! And actually how many people we know in common. Caleb started in the early 2000's and as assistant location manager on projects like Erin Brokovish, Traffic, Oceans'11, Terminator 3, And location manager on Superman Returns, Into the WIld, The Artist, Behind the Candelabra, Thor, and Wine Country.. He's ;location managed TV shows including Greek, True Detective, The Good Place and VEEP.

This month we have a BIG interview - Midge Ferguson, one of the top British location managers. You may not have heard of him, however you have all been impressed by the results of his work. Merlin, Atlantis, The Man From UNCLE and King Arthur : Legend Of The Sword. Midge was involved with all of those and many more. In fact, we recorded the interview just before Midge's latest hit series Sex Education was released on Netflix. So, if you were wondering where that very funny show was filmed, we have the answer for you. One of our regular features, the movie news, moves to this mid month slot. This month Jeff is talking about the expanding Kingsman cinematic universe and Neil has some interesting information about Paramount pictures. As for Graham, I am sure regular listeners will guess the subject of his news.

Following Dublin’s win on Sunday we have more missing persons than a 1970’s milk carton. Paddy Kavanagh is still AWOL and so is our Location Manager. You’ve heard of the Old Ronaldo and the new Ronaldo, well this week we have the Underestimated Ronaldo who sometimes turns up at UCD and calls himself Gary O’Neill. No, not THAT Gary O’Neill! The one from Kerry, where he was the only soccer player in the village. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! Luke Byrne ankled it into the ground floor studio to weigh in on the Declan Rice affair, Johnny quizzes Dinny Corcoran from Bohs on the Irn-Bru cup and when THE big question is answered we get all gastronomical about Dutch bastard cousins and pretentious pale ales before Dan’s day gets ruined when he finds an expired 'Fosters Dollar' in an old sock drawer. Oh and there’s some football in there somewhere too….
Total Transportation for Local Charities (Aired on June 9 and 10, 2018) RadioRotary interviews two employees of Total Transportation Corp., a business that goes out of its way to help local community organizations such as Rotary clubs. Marzello and Coe describe how they loan out equipment, often with volunteer drivers (regular employees who volunteer their time), to chairitable organizations such as Pleasant Valley Rotary. The Rotary club regularly runs a “Stuff the Bus” campaign for the local food pantry, and Total Transportation provides the bus, which (festooned with a large sign) is parked in a supermarket lot until donors have filled it with food, which the bus then transmits to the food pantry. A statistic from the census has shown that those in living in a household with a single parent are three and a half times more likely to live in poverty. Despite this, single parenthood is being normalized and is even being chosen over other options like adoption. In fact, adoption is being seen a horrible thing to do! Why is that? - The CFL has announced that teams will no longer be allowed to have full contact practices as well as the addition of an extra week to the season. This is all being done in an attempt to cut down the number of concussions and exposure to potential injuries for the players. Do you think this is a good idea? Is it actually going to cut down on injuries and concussions? Guest: Bubba O'Neil, Sports Anchor at CHCH-If someone comes to your front door and asks to come into your home to shoot a movie or use it in a shoot, what should you say? Having someone pay you thousands of dollars for every day they use it, maybe a newly painted wall or two and many other things makes this sound like a deal that might be too good to be true. That begs the question, is it too good to be true? You might be suprised by the answer. Guest: Jonathan Matthews, Location Manager at the Director's Guild of Canada

She is a member of the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Women Divers Hall of Fame. After nearly 2 decades as a pediatric nurse, Michele entered the field of documentary filmmaking in 1991, specializing in marine still photography and marine wildlife films. Suzanne manages to dish a little Hollywood gossip, but admits to wearing "Farrah hair" when it was the rage!
