Ronnie Stoeferle: Gold is The Big Long And We're Barely In the 6th Inning

Gold's bull market is just heating up, here's what comes next… In this deeply insightful interview, Incrementum's Ronnie Stoeferle joins Trey Reik to share highlights from his just-released In Gold We Trust 2025 report: The Big Long. Ronnie explains why gold is no longer a contrarian bet but a strategic response to the collapse of trust in fiat currencies, central banks, and political leadership. Now in the second phase of its secular bull market, “around the 6th inning,” as Ronnie puts it, gold could be heading toward $4,800 or even $10,000. He breaks down the case for both “safe haven gold” (physical, long-term) and “performance gold” (silver, mining stocks, commodities, Bitcoin), and why the real upside may lie in the under-owned parts of the trade. You'll also hear how central banks are not just buying gold, but repatriating it. And how a quiet remonetization of gold may be underway, laying the groundwork for a future monetary reset. George is working on a family book and sought the 1880 U.S. Federal Census Agricultural Schedules for Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It highlights the critical absence of Agricultural Schedules, Manufacturing Schedules, Mortality Schedules, some Slave Schedules (1850 and 1860), and the unique 7-page 1880 Federal Census' Defective, Delinquent, and Dependent Schedules. These documents all enhance the context of our ancestors' lives and provide insights into the communities and potentially new resource clues. The originals of many of these documents were returned to individual states, and have found their way into state archives, state libraries, county courthouses, and other places. George wants the sites like MyHeritage, Ancestry, FamilySearch, Findmypast, and others to actively renew their research to locate, digitize, and index these census documents before they are completely lost. In the latest OLD NEWS roundup with Emily Colucci of Filthy Dreams, we start by revisiting our prior, charged exchanged about Louis CK, in which Emily was admittedly a bit of an apologist for him, which alienated some listeners- in this case, while we don't land on the same page, we do air out our respective perspectives, and Emily dubs herself a contrarian. This leads to a brief discussion of the culture of heterodoxy, which promotes viewing issues from multiple angles as opposed to just your typical ideology; Emily's interest in what she calls ‘the trash aesthetic,' the pinnacle of which she explored by braving a late-October rally at Madison Square Garden featuring you-know-which-politician as the headliner, an event she ultimately describes as surprisingly boring; Emily's own article (appearing in the Oct. 12th OLD NEWS), “GAGOSIAN-BRANDED STICKER MADE ME HATE NAN GOLDIN'S “YOU NEVER DID ANYTHING WRONG,' in which she critiques Goldin's exhibition at Gagosian through the highly distorted lens of being made to cover up her phone's camera lens with a Gagosian-branded sticker (and Emily now knows the impact of her blog post about it- which is that the gallery's not going to do the sticker cover-up anymore); Emily shares her admiration for Goldin, not only her art but also her activism, through P.A.I.N. as well as that related to A.I.D.S. "Aging is a design problem, not a disease. Our current societal infrastructure isn't just outdated; it limits the possibilities for fulfilling, extended lives." – Dr. Joe Coughlin.  Are you ready to rethink your approach to aging and retirement? In this life-opening episode of Chatter That Matters, I sit down with Dr. Joe F. Coughlin, founder and director of the MIT AgeLab. We dive deep into the transformative insights from Dr. Coughlin's pioneering work on aging. From the importance of planning for a 100-year life to the crucial role of women in shaping aging dynamics, Dr. Coughlin challenges traditional views and highlights the vast opportunities that come with extended adulthood. He also underscores the critical need for well-designed technology and innovative approaches to retirement. Dr. Joe Coughlin is a visionary who doesn't fill boardrooms; he fills stadiums.  He is a senior contributor to Forbes and The Wall Street Journal. He has served on advisory boards for numerous global firms and was appointed to the White House advisory committee on aging. Joe will challenge your thinking about growing older and living longer. Dr. Coughlin shares how technological advancements, shifting societal norms, and new ideas can help us all live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives. We'll explore his groundbreaking insights on the longevity dividend and why old age, as we know it, is outdated. Whether navigating your aging journey or supporting loved ones through theirs, this conversation will inspire you to rethink what's possible in the years ahead.  Leanne Kaufmann, President and CEO of Royal Trust, returns to the show to share what RBC Wealth is doing. RBC Wealth partners with organizations like the MIT Age Lab, the Cleveland Clinic, the National Institute on Aging, the Women's Brain Insitute, Elder Caring and the Women's Age Lab to help clients understand and navigate the vital intersection of longevity, technology, and proactive retirement planning.   To buy Dr. Coughlin's books. https://www.amazon.com/Books-Joseph-F-Coughlin/s?rh=n%3A283155%2Cp_27%3AJoseph+F.+Coughlin   Follow him on LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/drjoecoughlin

God re-appears to Jacob and tells him a bunch of stuff that He already told him.  Why? Is it because God FORGOT His promises? Or, is it because Jacob is made of dust and he is the one that forgets? The weak link of memory is with Jacob, and us, of course.  So, when your podcaster says, "come back tomorrow", it's not because he needs more listeners, but because we are a forgetful people. In this New OLD NEWS episode, Dr. Maiza Hixson and I talk about the profile of recent Turner Prize winner Jesse Darling in the New York Times-- We discuss Darling's persona as portrayed in the article, his anti-capitalist leanings; what his future as an artist looks like, reading beyond what he says in the article towards his immediate future, having accepted an Oxford professorship; the public notoriety of the Turner Prize as compared with relative accolades in the U.S. (I claim that the Turner is much more public-facing than anything the U.S. offers, though Maiza claims that there are comparable points of recognition here in the States); and how Darling and his art are perceived by the public, both the NY Times public via the comments section, but also how contemporary art is taught, learned and thought about beyond the confines of the art world itself.
