An unofficial podcast for the long-running British soap, Coronation Street.
Coronation Street podcast by Michael and Gemma
The Conversation Street podcast is an absolute gem for fans of Coronation Street. As a long-time viewer of the show, I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to Michael and Gemma discuss all things Corrie. They bring a fresh perspective to the episodes, providing witty and entertaining commentary that enhances my viewing experience.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is the banter between Michael and Gemma. Their chemistry is evident, and their playful back-and-forth adds an extra layer of enjoyment to each episode. They are knowledgeable about the show's history and characters, often delving into character analysis and discussing recurring themes. Their interviews with cast members are also delightful, offering insight into the behind-the-scenes workings of Coronation Street.
Another great aspect is the sense of community that the podcast fosters. As an American viewer, it can be difficult to find others who watch Coronation Street. However, through this podcast, I feel like I am part of a larger group of fans who share my love for the show. The Facebook group associated with the podcast allows for further discussion and interaction with other listeners.
In terms of drawbacks, it can sometimes be challenging to follow along if you haven't watched all the episodes being discussed in a given week. While Michael and Gemma try their best to avoid spoilers, there may still be some plot points or developments that are mentioned without full context. However, this is a minor issue overall and doesn't detract significantly from the overall enjoyment of the podcast.
In conclusion, The Conversation Street podcast is a must-listen for any fan of Coronation Street. Michael and Gemma's passion for the show shines through in every episode, making it feel like you're chatting about your favorite soap with good friends. A delightful blend of humor, analysis, and camaraderie, this podcast is a wonderful companion for any Corrie enthusiast.

On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 26th and the 30th May (Episodes #11,579 - 11,584) This week, the residents of Weatherfield are still reeling from the death of Craig Tinker, and whilst the likes of Lisa and Kit are feeling guilty for the part they played in last week's events, Mick's defiantly pleading not guilty - and DC Green decides to dish out some old fashioned justice behind bars... Also this week, the friends and family of Julie gather to celebrate her life, and are paid a visit by a face from the past! Meanwhile, Carl spots an opportunity to make a bit of cash on the side, Carla plays nursemaid and Brody's out for revenge. There was very little in the way of Corrie news this week, but we did get an awful lot of emails about last week's episodes, so we skip the Kabin in favour of a bumper feedback section! Street Talk - 00:23:49 Feedback - 02:46:35
After ten intense rounds and countless close calls, it all comes down to this… Who will be crowned the ultimate Corrie character? On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about the last week and a bit of Coronation Street, covering the 16th to the 23rd May (Episodes #11,571 - 11,578) It actually worked out quite well that we didn't get to watch Corrie's big flashback episode until this week – sharing our thoughts on it now makes for a nice lead-in to everything that's happening in the present day. We ended up having some pretty different takes on the episodes too – from whether the flashbacks were even necessary to how Craig's death was handled. But one thing we did agree on – and sorry if this sounds like a bit of a cliché – is that this felt like one of the furthest departures from ‘proper Corrie' we've ever seen, with its intense focus on police action and a main cast made up mostly of relatively new characters. There's a lot to unpack this week, and we hope you enjoy the discussion (even if some of it does veer into a bit of a whinge!). Up next on the podcast it's the news segment, where we check out who from Corrie has found themselves on the longest for the annual National Television Awards, and we round off the show with some more listener feedback. Street Talk - 00:08:08 The Kabin - 03:03:21 Feedback - 03:09:29
Gemma's away this weekend, so we're coming at you early with Episode #680 of the podcast, which covers the goings on in Weatherfield between the 12th and the 14th May (Episodes #11,567 - 11,570) We'll readily admit that we've not really found a whole lot of joy in watching Mick's scenes up to now, but that all changed this week with some very intriguing hints dropped about his past with Kit. And as for the fight on Wednesday's episodes - a triumphant return of Gary's inability to avoid getting seven bells kicked out of him whenever gets on someone's bad side! Highlight of this week though is surely a tie between Glenda's fabulous karaoke stylings and Debbie's drunken antics at the Bistro - both Corrie gold! Up next on the podcast, it's The Kabin - and all change again at the top as John Whiston steps down from his role as Managing Director of Continuing Drama and Head of ITV in the North - and you'll never guess who's got himself another promotion... We round off the show with some more of your feedback, including some listeners' thoughts on last week's unexpected twist concerning the circumstances around Julie's death... Street Talk - 00:05:13 The Kabin - 01:39:09 Feedback - 01:52:55
This week, ITV officially announced a special, hour-long crossover between Coronation Street and Emmerdale, and we just couldn't wait to talk about it! We take a look at what's been teased so far about the episode and share our hopes and fears about how it will turn out.
In this week's bonus episode, we pay tribute to Coronation Street legend Dennis Tanner, following the sad news of actor Philip Lowrie's recent passing. We look back at Lowrie's remarkable life and career, and reflect on the character he so memorably brought to life as part of Corrie's original line-up in Episode 1. From his beginnings as the Street's original bad boy to his record-breaking return after 43 years away, we revisit Dennis's most iconic moments and discuss how he became one of our all-time favourite characters.
On our latest podcast, we chat about the goings on in Weatherfield between the 5th and the 9th May 2025 (Episodes #11,561 - 11,566) A jolly May Day trip to the park takes a heartbreaking turn for Eileen this week when Julie sadly passes away. Though we've been critical in the past of Corrie bringing back this character just to kill her off, we have to admit that it's been an absolute joy seeing her on our screens again - however briefly. Pretty much everything surrounding the aftermath of her death gets a big thumbs down from us, though, from Brian jumping to the wild conclusion that Eileen bumped her off to George's farcical embalming fiasco on Friday. Also this week, Jenny bids farewell to the Rovers (an even greater tragedy than Julie's death as far as we're concerned!), an intriguing past is teased between Mick and Kit, and James returns to the UK to collect Laila - but is Dee-Dee ready to let her go? Next up, it's The Kabin, and we chat about how Paul's MND storyline has inspired one Corrie fan to take on an incredible challenge to raise money for charity over in Australia. We finish things off with more of your listener feedback. Street Talk - 00:10:06 The Kabin - 02:25:33 Listener Questions - 02:37:34
In this week's bonus episode, we're diving deep into the life and legacy of Daisy Midgeley – one of Weatherfield's most chaotic, captivating, and controversial residents. From flirty newcomer to fierce pub co-owner, acid attack survivor and serial schemer, Daisy's storylines have kept us gripped for four and a half fabulous years. We chart her journey from 2020 to her dramatic 2025 exit, exploring the trauma that shaped her, her tangled love life, social media missteps, and whether she leaves behind a legacy to rival soap sirens of the past.
On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about the comings and goings in Weatherfield between the 28th April and the 2nd May (Episodes #11,555 - 11,560). After a fantastic four and a half years on the Street, minxy Daisy slinks out of Weatherfield this week, but what did we think of her exit, and what's going to happen with the chaos left in her wake? Daniel might be able to console himself with Mickey Mouse's autograph after all, but things are certainly not looking good for our Jenny... Meanwhile, Debbie gets the news she's been dreading from the hospital, and Carl looks all set to take advantage. Also this week, Gary comes out from wherever he's been hiding and snaps up the builder's yard, George is worried for his future with Eileen, and Betsy continues to cause tension between Carla and Lisa. Up next on the podcast, it's The Kabin, where we celebrate the life of Corrie original Philip Lowrie and check out the shortlist on the British Soap Awards - how are Corrie's chances looking this year? We round things off with a load of lovely listener feedback. Street Talk - 00:15:06 The Kabin - 02:48:29 Feedback - 03:12:37
It's not often you get to sit down and chat with a bona fide Corrie legend, but we had the chance to do just that recently when we spoke to Thelma Barlow, the actress behind the beloved newsagent Mavis Wilton. In this interview, Thelma talks about how she got into acting, her fondest memories of working on the cobbles and life after Corrie, including the new short film that she recently starred in, Sleepless In Settle. To watch Sleepless In Settle yourself, head to https://youtu.be/3CfCQKjj-Xw?si=iDozCFCQfpgL_31r To see a video version of this interview, visit https://youtu.be/VXyKJkk8bm0
On our latest podcast, we chat about the drama on the cobbles between the 21st and the 25th April (Episodes #11,549 - 11,554). Todd and Theo's secret affair is out! It was bound to happen at some point, but this week Danielle caught her husband and the undertaker snogging in the factory - and we're struggling to sympathise with the strong-armed scaffolder, to be honest.. But is he fooling himself by going back to his wife by the end of Wednesday's episode? Also on the romance front this week, we get to see true love rekindled for Julie and Brian and 100% fake love between Jenny and Dom - or one-sided love at least. Will Jenny rumble him before she parts with her cash, and will Daisy realise that she's being scammed too? Also this week, Betsy and Lauren go for a spin, Dylan asserts his dominance and Debbie panics ahead of her MRI results. Up next on the podcast, we celebrate Jack P Shepherd's CBB win in The Kabin then finish things off with a bit of feedback. Street Talk - 00:11:35 The Kabin - 02:24:45 Feedback - 02:29:38
In the last round of the Corrieliminator heats, we pit the final thirty characters against each other, ranking them and saving three from Corrielimination. We've got some more big names this round, including the big man himself, Ken Barlow - rather fitting that he's held on this far, don't you think? If you want to have your say on who from this round should make it through to the Grand Finale in the listener votes, select your top three here! https://forms.gle/1CyY7KfKjGa78jbU8 You can check out the video version of this episode over at our YouTube page here: https://youtu.be/FzyDsY2-kC4
On our latest episode of Conversation Street, we chat about the goings on in Corrie between the 14th and the 18th April 2025 (Episodes #11,543 - 11,548) This week saw the confirmation of a theory many fans have been predicting for the past month or so – that Brody is indeed the child of Mick and Lou. That revelation immediately ramped up the drama in Friday's episode, as Sean became the victim of a vicious beating at Mick's hands – but what's this going to mean for Gemma's friendship with the Michaelis? And how will Ronnie react when he finds out Mick's behind what he thinks is a second ginnel attack? Meanwhile, if last week's bombshell that Theo has a wife wasn't enough for Todd, Monday's episode sees him discover that he also has two teenage kids. Can Todd bring himself to walk away from a relationship that's turning out to be far more complicated than he ever imagined? Also this week, Debbie throws herself into planning her wedding to Ronnie while she still can, Christina continues her scheme to turn the tables on Jenny, and Dee-Dee pushes ahead with her campaign to improve maternity care for women of colour – but can she really trust Mr Nice Guy Wes? There was very little in the way of Corrie news this week, so we give The Kabin a miss and skip straight onto some listener feedback. Street Talk - 00:18:25 Feedback - 02:41:56
It's time for another Listener Questions segment, and this time, we've got a pair from listeners Jon and Joanne. First off, we're challenged to come up with an all-star Corrie cast, going down the street and only allowing one family from each house from the show's 65-year history. Of course, Ken and Deirdre are a shoe-in for Number 1, but what about the rest of the Street? Then after that, we're asked to share our thoughts on the current state of the Corrie sets - which are some of our favourites, which ones would we like to see less of, and which ones are just in need of a bit of a reboot? As always, we'd love to know your answers to these questions, so write in and let us know!
On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about what went on in Weatherfield between the 7th and the 11th April (Episodes #11,537 - 11,542) This week, the Corrie storyline that's had fans up in arms for the past five months finally kicked off in earnest, as Debbie was told she may have early onset dementia. And no, we're not the least bit surprised that viewers are frustrated – we're right there with you! With Corrie already overflowing with medical dramas in recent years, this latest development feels like one too many… not to mention the heartbreak of potentially having to say goodbye to one of the show's brightest sparks. That said – how incredible was Sue Devaney in Wednesday's episode? If there's any silver lining to this storyline, it's surely the promise of more powerhouse performances to come. But will that be enough to soften the blow? Only time will tell. Also this week, we meet Kevin's shady half-brother Carl (and what an unpleasant first impression that was…), and Todd discovers that his new fella Theo is already married! Yep – a bit of a heavy one all round… Still, at least we had the joyful (and very noisy!) return of little Dorin to lift our spirits. He's back, he's babbling, and he's making sure nobody gets a word in edgeways! Up next, it's The Kabin, where we talk about Jack P Shepherd's first few days in the Big Brother house and take a look at the long-awaited Corrie cast photo, which was finally released to the public this week. Then, after some feedback from viewers about Dee-Dee's heartbreaking situation at the hospital last week, we finish off the show with a Kabin Extra segment, where we talk about some spoilers cast news that came out yesterday. Street Talk - 00:12:14 The Kabin - 02:45:49 Feedback - 03:10:06 Kabin Extra - 03:41:03
On our latest episode of the podcast, we ramble on about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 31st March and the 3rd April (Episodes #11,531 - 11,536). Everyone loves a good hospital scene on Corrie, right? Right...? Oh well, this week, we got a whole bunch of them in any case, with Dee-Dee's traumatic experience as baby Laila comes a little earlier than planned coming front and centre. Will Dee-Dee be able to give her little bundle of joy up, though? And have James' dreams of a loving family unit been cruelly dashed? Meanwhile, Kevin starts his chemotherapy this week, just in case the Bailey story didn't deliver enough medical drama, but at least we also got the delightful scenes with Todd and Theo to fall back on for a bit of levity! Also this week, Christina's back at the Rovers and she's baying for Jenny's blood, Debbie takes a mysterious tumble in the ginnel, and Chesney finally catches up with the viewers by figuring out the identity of the mysterious silver van man. Up next on the podcast it's The Kabin, and we share the newly released details about this year's British Soap Awards, as well as our thoughts on Corrie legend Thelma Barlow's new short film, Sleepless in Settle. We round off the podcast with a bit of feedback - including a plug from one listener for Calum Lill's first post-Corrie project! Street Talk - 00:14:25 The Kabin - 02:24:33 Feedback - 02:43:32
For this week's bonus podcast, we do a classic character profile, taking a look back at the characters of Angela and Tommy Harris. Arriving on the cobbles in 2003 under the alias Nelson as part of a witness protection scheme, the Harris family brought plenty of drama to Coronation Street over a three year period. From Tommy's tough love parenting and Angela's struggle to keep their family together, to Katy's shocking affair with Martin Platt and the tragic events that followed, the Harrises had a short but unforgettable stint on the show. Was Tommy too controlling? Did Angela make the right choices? And do the Harrises deserve to be remembered more than they now are? We discuss all this and more in this week's episode!
On our latest podcast, we chat about all the drama on the cobbles between the 25th and the 28th March 2025 (Episodes #11,525 - 11,530). After a tense, six-day standoff since our previous visit to the Street, the hostage action finally picked up again on Tuesday, with Carla and Lisa added to the mix to really dial up the tension as an unhinged Rob threatens to take one of them down with him. Meanwhile, we're feeling extremely smug as our long-held theory about Daisy's involvement in Tom's death is finally proven right - though with the resultant fallout between her and Jenny, it looks like any chance of reconciliation is a long way off. Also this week, we dive into some of the burning questions sparked by the week's drama: What's the deal with the scantily clad scaffolder? Is Dee-Dee making the right move by offering her baby to James? And, of course, most importantly, WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE PUDDING? Up next on the podcast, we take a quick trip to The Kabin to discuss an award picked up by William Roache this week, and we round things off with some all-round lovely listener feedback. Street Talk - 00:12:01 The Kabin - 02:40:59 Feedback - 02:46:16
Every Coronation Street fan dreams of stepping behind the scenes - seeing the sets up close, meeting the actors, and watching future scenes unfold. Well, our listener Al made that dream a reality after winning a charity auction last year! In this episode, Al shares all about his incredible day on set, from insider secrets to memorable encounters - and everything in between. Don't miss this exclusive peek behind the curtain of Weatherfield! Also available as a video here, with some exclusive behind the scenes photos and videos of Al's day on set! https://youtu.be/dJQe839vKds
On this week's podcast, we chat about all the drama on the cobbles between the 17th and the 19th March 2025 (Episodes #11,519 - 11,524). When we heard that Rob was returning to the show all those months ago, one thing that we were hoping for above all others was that he'd get some screen time with Tracy, and Corrie certainly delivered on that front this week! After the runaway prisoner turns up in the ginnel to beg his ex-fiancée for help, Tracy finds herself looking down the barrel of a gun - will she get out alive, and what will next week's episodes bring for Carla and Lisa? Meanwhile, there's a return to the Street that nobody was expecting in the form of a newly recast James Bailey, as Ed summons him to Weatherfield in a desperate attempt to stop Dee-Dee giving up on her baby forever. Also this week, Evelyn stands by her daughter, Brian learns about the real reason Julie is back in town and Sean finds himself the unwilling accomplice of the Brody bunch. It's a bit of a slow news week this week, but we do get a small update on Eileen Derbyshire in the Kabin, and we round things off with some listener feedback, including a voicemail from one Canadian listener about her recent trip to the UK to see the Coronation Street Experience and the On The Sofa live show! Street Talk - 00:09:50 The Kabin - 02:42:34 Feedback - 02:48:10
After ten and a half years on the cobbles, Yasmeen has finally left the Street for a new life in London, and in this interview, we chat about her fondest memories of the past decade. From Jiggle-It Geoff to her more recent adventures with Stu, we reminisce about our favourite Yasmeen moments and I hear about what's next in store for Shelley. Also available as a video interview here: https://youtu.be/Knx4kR_UaUg
On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about what when on in Weatherfield between the 10th and the 14th March (Episodes #11,513 - 11,518) This week, as the truth begins to come out about the true nature of last week's hit and run, David finds himself in a spot of bother with Kit - just what lengths will the bent copper go to, to make him pay? Meanwhile, Cassie seeks forgiveness for poisoning Ken - pity for her that Tracy's more interested in getting revenge than giving her a chance at redemption. Also this week, Rob's still at large, Yasmeen flits to the Big Smoke and Ed's got a plan to change Dee-Dee's mind about putting the baby up for adoption... Up next on the podcast it's the news, and we get all excited about the newly announced Audience With Coronation Street tour, before rounding things off with a spot of listener feedback. Street Talk - 00:15:51 The Kabin - 02:25:21 Feedback - 02:42:23
We're back for Round 9 of Corrieliminator, the series where we select a random 30 Corrie characters and pit them against each other! With only 60 characters left to sort, anyone who isn't picked this month will automatically be up for discussion in Round 10 - and the grand finale will be with us very soon! But before all that, this month's selection, and we've got some BIG names this round. Some real favourite characters of ours couldn't even make it into the Top 10, and we can't wait to see who you pick too, so make sure you get over to https://forms.gle/np6Sy4FukY5grtHD9 to pick your own favourite three!
On our latest podcast, we have a natter about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 3rd and the 7th March 2025 (Episodes #11,507 - 11,512). It seems that barely a fortnight can go by at the moment without Corrie treating us to a big, hyped up episode, and after the stabbing, the fire and the kidnapping, this Wednesday saw David counting down the hours to his own demise in a desperate attempt to get Harvey off his back. We're not sure what was faster, to be honest - Andy careening down Rosamund Street towards the heavy-hearted hairdresser or David's rash decision that this was the only way out of the hole he's found himself in, but we had plenty of thoughts about how the episode played out, including poor Daisy's inclusion. Also this week, as Max is sentenced to six years in prison, Dylan settles down into life behind bars himself; Kevin accuses Abi and Ronnie of having an affair; and Yasmeen decides to sell her shares in Speed Daal and move down to London. Next up on the podcast, it's The Kabin, and we're cheering Sam Aston on ahead of his appearance in the Dancing On Ice final this weekend, and we finish things off with more of your feedback. It seems like quite a while since we've done a listener question segment, but thanks to some recent submissions from some of you guys, we thought now was the time to bring it back again. This time, we begin by tackling Tom's question relating to the 1961 Equity Actors' strike, which saw the Corrie cast reduced to just 14 core characters for a number of months. If that happened today, which characters would we choose to keep the programme running? After that, we pondeR Jon's question about the term 'classic Corrie'. People are always saying whether this or that feels like classic Coronation Street, but what does that mean to us?
On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown between the 24th and the 27th February 2024 (Episodes #11,501 - 11,506). It was a bit of a barm cake of a week this week, with a fantastic visit to Weatherfield on Wednesday sandwiched between two episodes that really did leave a bit of a bitter taste in our mouths. To learn that such a chirpy, positive character as Julie has returned to the Street after ten years not to inject a ray of sunshine into the sometimes quite bleak world of Weatherfield but to reveal she has stage 4 cancer is one thing, but to then have Kevin be told that his own procedure last week was only partially successful really is a tough pill to swallow. Fortunately, there were still moments in the week we really enjoyed too - Ken's unveiling of Cassie's scheme was really fun to watch, and as much as we can't back Jenny's encouraging Daisy to lie about her baby's father, we couldn't help but get caught up in all the drama there too. So all in all, a very mixed bag this week, but still a lot of fun to chat about! Next up on the podcast, we take a trip to The Kabin, where the author and setting of the new Coronation Street interactive novel are revealed (good news on both counts, in our book!), and we round off the show with all your thoughts on the latest Weatherfield goings on in the feedback section. Street Talk - 00:12:31 The Kabin - 02:56:28 Feedback - 03:09:05
Back in 2015, when we first profiled Jenny Bradley upon her return to the cobbles after 22 years away, we had no idea she would quickly go on to become one of our favourite ever Corrie characters. Ten years later, and we're back to chat about everything she's been up to in the past decade, from toddler dangling highs to soggy sinkhole lows.
On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about the Weatherfield drama between the 17th and the 19th February (Episodes #11,495 - 11,500) With EastEnders' 40th anniversary taking place this week, the ITV soaps had to put on quite the spectacle to compete. Emmerdale threw all it had into crashing a limo into an icy lake whilst Corrie put all its eggs into the Rob Donovan escape basket... but did it end up with egg on its own face? Also this week, there are ball gags aplenty as Kevin goes under the knife - can Abi hold it together and support her hubby? Meanwhile, Max pleads guilty to the fire at No. 8, Mick and Lou prove to be quite the nuisance neighbours, and Eileen's sister Julie is back in Weatherfield - but why is this Carp being so coy? It's a Street Talk only podcast this week as we've been away in London for a few days, but with plenty to dissect about this week's action on the cobbles, we reckon it's still a fun show!
We reckon the character of Shona Platt has been one of the best things to happen on Corrie in the past decade, so we were thrilled to get the opportunity to welcome the ripped jean queen of the cobbles onto the podcast this week. Actress Julia Goulding chats about fulfilling a lifelong dream by getting a part on Corrie, shares some behind the secrets about the fire at Number 8 and answers the burning question on everyone's lips: does Shona always have cold knees? Also available as a video interview here: https://youtu.be/VPRQ3LVxnDg
On our latest episode of the podcast, we have a natter about the goings on in Weatherfield between the 10th and the 14th February 2025 (Episodes #11,489 - 11,494) It's all going down at the General this week, as Kevin gets some bad news about test results whilst Rob plots his 'Get Out Of Jail Free' scheme with the help of newly besotted prison guard Mandy and - in an admittedly quite surprising turn of events - Lisa Swain herself! Meanwhile, over on the Street, Shona's shocked to discover the true culprit behind the fire at Number 8 - but will she help keep the heat off the arsonist? Also this week, Gemma makes a mate in the form of newcomer Lou, Mason's funeral takes place and Cassie and Steve get caught up in that Valentine's Day feeling! Up next on the podcast, it's the news, where we celebrate Peter Ash's latest win at the TV Choice Awards and take a look at this week's offerings on ITV Reloved. We round things off as usual with more of your fabulous feedback. Street Talk - 00:12:06 The Kabin - 02:24:25 Feedback - 02:35:37
After a couple of months off, Corrieliminator is back with Round 8! On our latest podcast, we take a look at the episodes of Coronation Street shown between the 3rd and the 5th February (Episodes #11,483 - 11,488). Although Corrie had to tie up the 'What happened to Amy?' thread and of course throw in a few Carla scenes to appease the hungry fans, the vast majority of the action centred around the fire at the Platts' house this week. If you enjoyed last year's Whodunnits centred around Lauren and Joel, you're in luck because Corrie has dipped into the same well again this week by presenting a number of suspects for the arson - did Abi torch the house to cover her tracks? Leanne to get revenge on her boyfriend-stealing sister? David to claim on the insurance? Or maybe the culprit is a character we may not be supposed to suspect at this point - someone who hasn't yet had the chance to explain their movements in the minutes before that match was tossed through the letterbox... After exhausting our thoughts and theories about the week's episodes, we take a trip to The Kabin, where we celebrate Corrie's win at the Broadcast Awards, then we hear some listeners' thoughts on the fire in the feedback section. Street Talk - 00:22:27 The Kabin - 02:42:43 Feedback - 02:51:58
For such a small location, Coronation Street has certainly seen its fair share of blazes over the past 65 years! In this week's bonus episode, we take a fiery trip down memory lane, reliving Corrie's most unforgettable infernos -from flaming fast food vans and blazing bureaus to the Rovers going up in smoke and even an entire block of flats set ablaze! But what's been the biggest cause of these disasters - tragic accidents or something more sinister? How many beloved (and not-so-beloved) characters have met a fiery fate? And who are the unluckiest - or perhaps most suspicious -residents who always seem to be lurking when flames start to rise? Tune in to find out!
The news has just dropped today that from January 2026, Corrie (and Emmerdale!) will be moving to five half hour episodes a week, Monday to Friday. What effects could this massive scheduling change have on our favourite soap? What could work well, and what questions do we still want answered? We couldn't wait until the end of the week to discuss this one, so here are our immediate reactions!
On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about the drama that unfolded on the cobbles between the 27th and the 29th January 2025 (Episodes #11,479 - 11,482) There were only two visits to Weatherfield this week, but still plenty of drama for us to sink our teeth into, not least the short lived kidnapping drama for Shona on Monday's episode - will Harvey stop at nothing to get his money back from David? Also this week, we were very pleasantly surprised to see Leanne still in full-on bitch mode once more - though that was nothing compared to the shock of her latest bedroom conquest! Meanwhile, Abi continues to spiral downhill, Chesney and Gemma's escape from financial misery comes to an abrupt halt, and Tracy thinks she's found proof that Ken's being fleeced - can Cassie squirm her way away from the spotlight of suspicion? Up next on the podcast, we head to The Kabin, where we check out ITV Reloved's recent Corrie costume sale bonanza and share all the details of Vicky Myers' upcoming appearance at a fan convention. We finish off the show with more of your feedback. Street Talk - 00:18:06 The Kabin - 01:53:36 Feedback - 02:17:38
2024 Corrie may now be very much in our rear view mirror, but before it disappears completely over the horizon, we have to hold it to account for its crimes against telly in this year's Bobbins Awards! Calling out the worst, weirdest and wackiest stories and characters of the past twelve months, the Bobbins Awards are a lighthearted look at the things that...well...just didn't quite work for us. Who did we pick as the Mardiest Mare? The Daftest Apeth? The Dirtiest Dog? To find out the winners in these categories and more, take a listen to the Bobbins Awards 2024!
On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown between the 20th and the 24th January 2025 (Episodes #11,473 - 11,478). Another great week on the cobbles this week, we thought, with some high drama in court, devilishly funny moments from Leanne and Tracy, and a couple of definitely unexpected twists. Sure, there probably weren't many of us who actually thought Lauren would be sent down this week, but was anyone expecting Daisy's mic drop moment at the Rovers quiz? Or what about Ryan's latest conquest? As well as that, we had David the Dog's little life hanging in the balance, Cassie deftly avoiding any kind of recrimination when Daniel tells Ken about what Bertie saw at his party, and even another appearance from Seb! Up next in the podcast, it's The Kabin, where we chat about some criticism Corrie's received recently from a kidney charity over the way it's handled Carla's latest medical drama, and we finish things off with some listener feedback. It's the start of a new year, which means time to dust off the old crystal ball and see what could be coming to the cobbles in the next twelve months! In this episode, we chat about our predictions for 2025, discuss what we're squeezing our hands together tight and praying will happen, and get our creative juices flowing by coming up with some storyline pitches for the year. Of course, it wouldn't be a prediction show without us looking back to last year's ideas and seeing how many of them we got right (spoiler alert - not too many!) and also hear some ideas from our lovely listeners. Honestly, who needs TV guide spoilers and leaks from The Sun when you've got this?
On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about everything that went on in Weatherfield between the 13th and the 17th January (Episodes #11,467 - 11,472) Despite dominating our screen time last week, there was relatively little follow-up to the stabbing story this week - at least for the kids involved, that is. Abi, on the other hand, has been having a proper rough old time of it, culminating in yet another ghostly return to the cobbles in the form of Seb! And she's not the only Webster with issues this week either, as Kevin's having problems of own downstairs... Also this week, Lauren's trial kicks off, there's a hostage situation at the prison, and a merging of Barlow storylines sees Cassie and Daniel finding out a few of each other's secrets... Up next on the podcast, we celebrate the birth of Lucy Fallon's new sprog in The Kabin, before hearing about your reactions to the stabbing story in the feedback section. We round off the podcast with our reaction to this week's cast news in a spoilery Kabin Extra. Street Talk - 00:17:54 The Kabin - 03:17:05 Feedback - 03:24:10 Kabin Extra - 03:47:07
After his dramatic exit from the Street last week, Corrie actor Luca Toolan comes onto the podcast to talk about his year and a half playing bad boy Mason Radcliffe. We chat about Luca's interpretation of his thought-provoking exit episode, the secrets behind his final scenes and what it was like acting alongside the likes of Bill Fellows, Sally Dynevor and Vicky Myers.
On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown between the 6th and the 10th January (Episodes #11,461 - 11,466). Wow, what an incredible week that was! After the all-too perfect happy ending that was being built up for Mason last week, we had a feeling that he might not be making it out of Monday's episode alive, but we weren't expecting an episode quite like that. In a sequence that was part dream, part parallel universe, Corrie showed us what might have happened had Dylan not bought that zombie knife a few months back, before ultimately revealing how it actually led to Mason's tragic end. There were powerhouse performances all round as characters reacted to the news of the stabbing, and plenty of discussion was generated relating to who was ultimately responsible for 2024's first death on the cobbles. Not only that, but we also said a fond (and hopefully temporary) farewell to Evelyn as she headed off to university, whilst over at the prison, Bobby has a big request for a familiar face from the past... Next up on the podcast, it's The Kabin, where we take a look at the non-spoilery Corrie news of the week, and we finish things off with more of your fantastic feedback. What a week it's been for #Corrie! Whether you love spoilers or loathe them, news about the next twelve months on the cobbles has been everywhere this week - and for big fans of the show, most of it has been pretty hard to avoid. Although we usually steer clear of spoiler talk on the podcast, we couldn't resist weighing in on what's been revealed this week, especially since it's also the perfect chance to discuss some of the 2025 storylines teased by new producer Kate Brooks at the press day we attended back in November. If you're avoiding spoilers, this is one to skip - but if you're keen to hear our take on some of Corrie's biggest upcoming news and rumours, sit back and enjoy! #Corrie #Spoilers
In this week's bonus episode, we take a deep dive into all things Coronation Street in 2024 - a year where the drama behind the scenes often rivalled what was playing out on screen! From the departure of producer Iain Macleod and the early releases on ITVX, to a wave of concerning press articles about the state of our beloved soap, it was certainly a bit of a challenging year to be a Corrie fan. But as always, there were plenty of moments that stood out for the right reasons. For every misstep - like the George and Glenda feud - there were episodes, stories, and characters that captured our imagination, including Paul's heartbreaking journey with MND and the chaotic antics at the Institute. We also had the multiple twists of the Joel and Lauren saga, the credulity-stretching reveal of Toyah's baby, the undeniable charm of Dorin, and of course... #Swarla. In this episode, we'll unpack everything we loved, everything that didn't quite hit the mark, and everything in between. We hope you enjoy the ride!
On our first episode of the 2025, we chat about what went down in Weatherfield between the 30th December and the 3rd January (Episodes #11,454 - 11,460). Swarla fans may not have got their Christmas Day pizza fest, but there was plenty of the pair on our screens this week to enjoy, including an impromptu declaration of love from Carla as the bells tolled midnight on New Year's Eve - but are her feelings reciprocated? Speaking of the Swains, Betsy's getting all loved up with Mason this week, but when he finds evidence that could get his brothers sent down for murder, he suddenly finds himself with a massive target on his back... Also this week, Evelyn gets fast tracked to uni, David declares war on Kit, and Tracy's determined to bring Cassie down. Another slow news week this week, so after Street Talk, we just round things off with a bit of feedback before finishing. Street Talk - 00:19:50 Feedback - 02:31:15
2024 was another exciting year for Coronation Street, and it's time to award those characters, stories and moments that we enjoyed the best! Merry Christmas everyone! In our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about the festive - and not so festive! - goings on in Weatherfield between the 23rd and 27th December (Episodes #11,447 - 11,453). Before we dive into our usual Street Talk segment, we've got a bit of a Christmas treat for you: an interview with new Corrie producer Kate Brooks! When we were at the recent press day, we were able to grab Kate for five minutes to ask her about her vision for the show now she's at the helm - tune in to find out what she had to say! Up next on the podcast, it's business as usual with our recap of the week's episodes - and what a great week it was! The biggest event, of course, was Gail's departure from Weatherfield after 50 glorious years on the show. Did it manage to hit all the right notes, and what did we make of that very special cameo at the end of Tuesday's episode? Second billing this week went to the Battersby sisters, who came to blows in a Christmas Day punch up at the Bistro. As fans of both characters, we've decided that it's best not to pick a side here - we prefer to just sit back and enjoy the chaos unfold! Also this week, Shona admits to David she's been unfaithful, Mason tries his best to ingratiate himself to Carla and Lisa, and Daisy finds herself in the middle of her very own 'Who's The Daddy?' story! Unfortunately, we had to cut the podcast short after Street Talk as we had a five hour drive ahead of us, so no news or feedback this week - hopefully, normal service will resume next episode! 00:15:17 - Kate Brooks Interview 00:26:29 - StreetTalk
After 50 years, Gail has finally bid a fond farewell to Weatherfield and headed off to a new life in the south of France. In this special tribute episode of the podcast, we bring you the A-Z of all things Gail, from Audrey to... well, you'll just have to wait and see how we managed to scrape the bottom of the barrel with the tail end of the alphabet! Focusing on the characters, stories, moments and even memes that make Gail an icon not only of Corrie but of television as a whole, this special episode of the podcast celebrates the life of one of the most enduring characters of our favourite soap. Also available on YouTube, featuring around 300 photos of Gail during here time in the show! https://youtu.be/XRsO2unD5QE
On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 16th and the 20th December (Episodes #11,441 - 11,446). It may be the season of goodwill an' all, but sorry, we just can't bring ourselves to feel all that charitable about the Lauren story this week, which reared its head again with a fresh batch of misery for the terminally tragic teen. This time, Frankie's being diagnosed with aplastic anaemia - will Dee-Dee step in to help, even if it means keeping her own unwanted baby? Also this week, the word's slowly starting to get out that Daisy was the one who caused Shona's injury last week - though that's nothing compared to the hot gossip that Sally picks up on Friday when she sees Carla and Lisa kissing on the cobbles! Meanwhile, preparations for Gail and Jesse's wedding are in full force, though is Audrey right about her making a massive mistake? Up next, it's The Kabin, and we chat about Lorna Laidlaw's recent appearance on another podcast talking about her time on Corrie, and we round off the show with some more of your feedback. Street Talk - 00:09:23 The Kabin - 02:31:19 Feedback - 02:47:26

On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 9th and the 13th December (Episodes #11,435 - 11,440). It may have made things a bit tricky when we were writing out the notes for the episode, but there was quite a bit of criss-crossing over of stories this week, which we always enjoy - and even better when drama with the Platts is at the centre of it! Gail and Jesse's wedding plans, Max taking his eye off the ball with Frankie and getting him whisked away by the Deerings, and, of course, all the intrigue surrounding Shona's accident on Monday night made for another explosive week on the cobbles, and we had a great time chatting about our reaction to it all. Not only that, but we also had Daniel and Daisy getting closer again, some brilliant scenes with Evelyn and even a new actor playing little Harry - great stuff! Not really very much in terms of news this week, so we skip over The Kabin section again and finish off with more of your feedback. Street Talk - 00:17:01 Feedback - 02:48:28
