The Chiefs season is over for all intents and purposes and it's time to get real. You have an aging quarterback that has slowed down and now has an ACL surgery. High priced older players that don't play to the level expected and a team that is poorly coached. Ya, that's pretty much everyone. The only thing to say is there is no continuing with the same plan to keep the band together. If the Chiefs want to chase more Super Bowls with Patrick Mahomes they need a completely different blueprint for Part II. A pastor at Journey church in Lee's Summit jokes about these sloppy Chiefs in his sermon to inspire the congregation. The Royals trade for a left fielder, KU's Darren Peterson gets hurt again. Trump's coin toss at Army-Navy was an incredible scene. Taylor Swift hands out massive cash bonuses to her crew. Then, a new documentary by KMBC Channel 9 took 19 months for Donna Pittman and her team to produce. It features Kansas City area women that served in Vietnam and it airs Tuesday night at 7:00. It sounds incredible. Our Final Final is a cold sack of burgers.
One year after the fall of Syria's dictator, Bashar al-Assad, interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa has undergone a significant image makeover. He's regularly seen playing basketball or pool on social media and his posts are amplified by a network of government-backed influencers. BBC Monitoring's Samia Hosny has been watching and reflects on what this PR campaign is saying – and what it isn't. The special administrative region of Macau on the south coast of China is sometimes referred to as the Las Vegas of the East. The gaming hub attracts tourists from all over the world, as well as from mainland China and Taiwan. But amid the glitzy casinos and hotels, Macau has just opened its very first luxury resort hospital, in the hope of capitalising on the medical tourism industry. The BBC's Osmond Chia reports from Singapore. 17-year-old Janvi Jindal, from Punjab state in India, has recently achieved 5 Guinness World Records in freestyle skating. She was able to perform, amongst other things, thirty-two 360 degree rotations in 30 seconds – whilst balancing on her inline skates. BBC reporter Sarabjit Singh Dhaliwal went to meet Janvi and her parents. This episode of The Documentary comes to you from The Fifth Floor, the show at the heart of global storytelling, with BBC journalists from all around the world. Presented by Faranak Amidi. The public authority that owns the arena says it needs 400 million dollars—more than double the original cost—to renovate it. And it's looking for taxpayers to pick up much of the tab.
The second Trump administration has made tearing down parts of the federal government a priority. And some of those efforts have been literal. In October, President Donald Trump ordered the demolition of the White House's East Wing to make way for the construction of a massive 90,000-square-foot ballroom. He's also given the White House a gilded makeover, bulldozed the famed Rose Garden, and even has plans for a so-called “Arc de Trump” that mirrors France's Arc de Triomphe. So what's behind all of this? Art historian Erin Thompson—author of Smashing Statues: The Rise and Fall of America's Public Monuments—says that whether it's Romans repurposing idols of leaders who had fallen out of favor or the glorification of Civil War officers in the American South, monuments and public aesthetics aren't just about the past. They're about symbolizing power today. On this week's More To The Story, Thompson sits down with host Al Letson to discuss why Trump has decked out the White House in gold (so much gold), the rise and recent fall of Confederate monuments, and whether she thinks the Arc de Trump will ever get built.Producers: Josh Sanburn and Artis Curiskis | Editor: Kara McGuirk-Allison | Theme music: Fernando Arruda and Jim Briggs | Copy editor: Nikki Frick | Digital producer: Artis Curiskis | Deputy executive producer: Taki Telonidis | Executive producer: Brett Myers | Executive editor: James West | Host: Al Letson Donate today at Revealnews.org/more Subscribe to our weekly newsletter at Revealnews.org/weekly Follow us on Instagram and Bluesky Listen: Fancy Galleries, Fake Art (Reveal)Listen: Will the National Parks Survive Trump? In this powerful and inspiring episode, Leslie sits down with Kate LaGere, co-founder of The Mahjong Line, the design-driven brand that transformed the look, feel, and cultural momentum of American Mahjong.Kate shares the real story behind how she and co-founder Annie O'Grady built one of the most recognizable modern game brands — from their first design prototypes and Pantone-specific tiles to their explosive growth across the South, college campuses, and nationwide Mahjong circles. But this episode goes deeper.Kate opens up about the unexpected viral backlash the company faced in 2021, when a wave of online criticism accused The Mahjong Line of cultural appropriation. She describes what it was like to become the center of a national firestorm overnight — the trolling, the threats, the media frenzy, and how she and Annie stayed grounded, responsive, and resilient.Kate also offers heartfelt advice for female founders, creatives, and entrepreneurs on taking risks, embracing discomfort, and building something meaningful — even when the internet comes for you.Whether you're a seasoned Mahjong player, a new learner, or simply love a good story about grit and reinvention, this conversation is a must-listen.Hosted on Ausha. Thanks to our Partners, Shop Boss and AppFueledA bland building that blended in… turned bold brand that brought in business. That's the real story behind this episode featuring Kelly McCart from McCart's Auto Center. If you've ever wondered whether the look and feel of your shop actually matters, you'll want to hear how a full-on rebrand, from paint to logo to online presence, transformed Kelly's shop from invisible to impossible to miss.We talk about why aesthetics are marketing, how design can literally drive in new clients, and what it means when someone walks in just to say, “Wow, this looks amazing.” Kelly breaks down the “why” and “how” behind his shop's renovation, how he pulled it off with DIY design (yes, scissors and Elmer's glue were involved), and why rethinking your image might be the smartest move you make this year. He'll also share how this shift doubled his staff, improved the quality of clients, and continues to make his business stand out, both to customers and future employees. This episode isn't just about fresh paint. This week's episode is a sweet, simple reminder of how small changes can make a home feel more like you. Laurie and I began in her kitchen, at the long window seat that greets you the moment you enter from the back door. Even with its beautiful view, it felt unfinished to her—like it wasn't yet saying, We live here. As we talked, I encouraged her to trust the instincts she already had: using her own textiles, adding a little color, choosing organic patterns, and even hanging plants to bring some life into the space. We moved through the nearby rooms too, touching on lighting challenges and the beginnings of a gallery wall. In the end, every question circled back to the same truth: her home just needed more of her, and she already knew exactly how to make that happen. Want to finally define your style? Here are some holiday healthy eating tips for people with diabetes — perfect for keeping the joy (and flavor!) in your celebrations without the sugar spikes Before the Feast Don't skip meals. Eat a balanced breakfast or snack before the party — this helps steady your blood sugar and curb overeating. Stay hydrated. Sometimes thirst can feel like hunger. Keep a glass of water handy. Bring a diabetes-friendly dish. That way, you'll know there's at least one option that fits your needs. At the Table Fill half your plate with veggies. Roasted Brussels sprouts, green beans, or salad add fiber and color. Prioritize protein. Turkey, chicken, or fish help balance blood sugar and keep you satisfied. Mind the carbs. Choose one or two favorite carb dishes (like stuffing or mashed potatoes), and enjoy modest portions. Watch the sauces and gravies. Many are high in sugar or fat — a drizzle is usually plenty. Dessert Time Go mini. A small serving or shared slice can hit the sweet spot without overdoing it. Try fruit-based desserts. Baked apples or berries with a dollop of whipped cream can be a tasty, lower-carb treat. Don't skip the celebration. Enjoy every bite mindfully — focus on flavor, not restriction. After the Feast Take a short walk. Even 10–15 minutes after eating can help lower blood sugar. Check your glucose. Monitoring helps you learn how different foods affect you. Give yourself grace. One meal won't make or break your progress — it's the overall pattern that matters.

The district has done that in part through a federal grant program that helps school districts buy ingredients from local farms to make more nutritious school lunches from scratch. Now, that federal program has been gutted, leaving many districts, especially smaller ones or those just starting out on the journey of making over their menus, without a crucial funding stream. Welcome back to Stories from the River! We are continuing our recap series from the Grand Reopening Celebration of our latest Ashley Store 7.0 transformation in Mooresville, North Carolina. In today's episode, CEO Charlie Malouf sits down with Mooresville General Manager Nathan Jeter to discuss the remodel experience and results from the reimagined Lake Norman store, The Lake. The Mooresville Ashley store has been around for over 17 years, and its success was never questionned. Nathan Jeter and his winning team have stood out in the Company. However, this fall, the team at The Lake welcomed a long-awaited remodel of their beloved store to the Ashley 7.0 model. Expanding the Sleep Shop to twice its size and reinventing the showroom with the fresh 7.0 design will only help this team reach new heights in the coming season. In today's interview conducted in the showroom following the ribbon cutting held last month on October 7th, we get an insight into what Nathan and his team think about the brand new remodel. The conversation explores the journey leading up to the ribbon cutting, and they reminisce about the seventeen years since the store first opened, its journey to where it is now and the various wonderful Memory Makers who got it to this moment. Jeter particularly reflects on the instrumental impact that Renee Bradley has had on the store and how helpful Tim Sayles was during the construction process. In a surprising move, the Mooresville store managed to win Store of the Month, the presigious Yoda award, twice amidst the construction. Jeter credits this to his team of Memory Makers. He remarks that the team's resilient mindest, strategic planning, and the support of both long-term Memory Makers as well as some newcomers help make the Mooresville store the award-winning location. Stayed tuned for other conversations from this event as the stories will highlight Mooresville Memory Makers and their strength, resilience and ability to thrive during chaos.
