I'm doing this for very good reason: as a holder of both American and British passports, and being a Special-Forces veteran, I am painfully aware that many US and UK soldiers are struggling with depression, anxiety, alienation and thoughts of suicide brought on by PTSD. The journey I face is my way to raise awareness, educate and to start connecting those who need help with those that are there to provide assistance. My pending journey is to take part in the 2018 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, a race of more than 3,000 nautical miles from the Canary Islands to Antigua across the Atlantic Ocean. Considered by some to be one of the toughest challenges on earth. To put it into perspective, more people have scaled Everest or have journeyed into space than have rowed across the Atlantic.
