Women are multidimensional creatures.  When we embrace being a walking contradiction – soft but strong, stern but kind, powerful & loving… we can more easily embrace ALL of who we truly are.   I learned this big lesson from Katie Hendricks, who has been a guiding light in the world of body intelligence and conscious living for over five decades. Not just an innovator, Katie is an evolutionary driving force and someone who constantly challenges existing norms.    Her unique methods and mastery of shifting from fear to presence are like no other I've experienced and learned.   Her leadership and coaching programs have helped develop hundreds of body intelligence and relationship coaches across America, Europe, and the world.    If you haven't had the opportunity to learn from Katie before, you don't want to miss this episode!   Read the article here: https://womenrockingbusiness.com/transforming-fear-into-presence-with-katie-hendricks-and-sage-lavine/ Key points in this episode:    02:20 The feminine in terms of leadership 04:46 Fostering the genius in other women 08:07 Building life's purpose with one's better half 10:12 Teaching women to have a 'spine' in life and love  13:57 Befriending your fear 17:01 Making anger your ally  19:30 Why you should set agreements instead of boundaries 22:14 What to do during a disconnect with yourself and others 25:14 Contempt plus fear equals hate 28:36 The more you let yourself receive, the more you can be supported to achieve your genius 30:33 You are a unique, evolving work of art worth celebrating every day   Kathlyn Hendricks, Ph.D., BC-DMT is an evolutionary catalyst, contextual disruptor and freelance mentor who has been a pioneer in the field of body intelligence and conscious loving for fifty years. Loneliness Is NOT a Joke. Here Are 10 Ways to Deal With It w/John R. Miles EP 181

Over the past few months, the growing chronic loneliness epidemic has come up repeatedly in my interviews on the Passion Struck podcast. Given its prevalence, I decided to devote this episode to addressing its significance. Loneliness is a human sentiment that is complicated and unique to every person. Because there isn't a known common cause, the consequences of loneliness and its prevention can vary dramatically. Anne Hathaway did a great job articulating her feelings about loneliness in the following quote, "Loneliness is my least favorite thing about life. The thing that I'm most worried about is just being alone without anybody to care for or someone who will care for me." Her quote brings to life how differently we each experience loneliness. For example, a lonely elderly person who struggles to have people to talk to has different needs than a college student leaving home for the first time. In today's Momentum Friday Passion Struck podcast episode, I dive into what it means to be "lonely," as well as the causes and consequences of loneliness, and provide ten different ways to deal with loneliness.   --► Get the full show notes: https://passionstruck.com/loneliness-is-not-a-joke-here-are-10-ways-to-deal-with-it/  --► Subscribe to My Channel Here: https://www.youtube.com/c/JohnRMiles --► Subscribe to the podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/passion-struck-with-john-r-miles/id1553279283 *Our Patreon Page: https://www.patreon.com/passionstruck. John R. Miles - Eight ways to stop making excuses to unlock an intentional life. Brought to you by Indeed. Receive a $75 credit at:  https://www.indeed.com/passionstruck.  People often ask me, 'How does making excuses impact intentional positive change in life?' In the words of Benjamin Franklin, “He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.” As cruel as that sounds, Franklin's words are closer to reality than we think. Until we stop making excuses, we will encounter consequences to living our lives with focus, purpose, and intentionality. Trust me when I say, making excuses is one of the worst things you can do if you desire to become your best self.  --► Get the full show notes: https://passionstruck.com/how-to-stop-making-excuses/  --► Subscribe to My Channel Here: https://www.youtube.com/c/JohnRMiles --► Subscribe to the podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/passion-struck-with-john-r-miles/id1553279283 *Our Patreon Page: https://www.patreon.com/passionstruck. What I Discuss With Ari Wallach The question we're asking ourselves, and we've continuously been asking ourselves for 1000s of years, is "Who am I and why am I here?" Suppose you are living a life that now has a purpose for something bigger than yourself. In that case, the immediate payoff is that you are now finding that the things that you do and the interactions that you have with yourself, your own inner voice with other humans, the things that you consume, and the ways that you vote, are no longer just about you. We explore the following topics: What is a “futurist”? What are the foundational principles of the Longpath perspective? What Ari means when he says “short-termism” What is “transgenerational empathy”? What are a few examples of the Longpath perspective at work today? Who are the biggest offenders of short-termism?  What is the payoff for planning for a future we won't be around to see? Avremi's childhood growing up in an orthodox Jewish family where he was homeschooled. How his caretaker, who entered his life as a close family friend, ultimately altered it forever. Avremi discusses the moment watching Law and Order in his early twenties when he realized he had suffered child sexual abuse. Why he felt self-blame for the abuse and decided to keep it a secret from his family and wife. How burying it ultimately had devastating effects on his life. Why going through talk therapy opened allowed him to start to heal from his past. We then turn to the healing journey he has been on. Why he chose to report the incident to the police. We discuss the eventual trial and its ultimate verdict. We examine how his life has changed following the verdict and his advice to others on how to overcome abuse and trauma. And so much more. Dr. Kara Fitzgerald, ND, IFMCP, is the first-ever recipient of the Emerging Leadership Award from the Personalized Lifestyle Medicine Institute in recognition of her work on DNA methylation. Dr. Fitzgerald directs a large, integrative in-person and virtual clinical practice in Connecticut. She is engaged in clinical research on the DNA methylome using a diet and lifestyle intervention developed in her clinic. Her first study was published in the journal Aging. What I Discuss With Dr. Kara Fitzgerald About How You Reverse Your Biological Age Through Lifestyle and Diet Choices Dr. Fitzgerald and I discuss how there is a link between aging and chronic disease, and it has everything to do with epigenetics and their effect on aging. Biological age looks at specific patterns of a key epigenetic mark called DNA methylation. These DNA methylation patterns can reliably predict how fast our body is aging. Methylation is as essential to our bodies as breathing and is happening in our bodies and within our cells all of the time. Therefore, if you can give yourself the DNA methylations of a younger you, you can reset your biological aging process. She provides key ways to do this throughout our interview that are based on her years of experience backed by clinical trials.  Why do most adults spend the last 16 years of their lives suffering from chronic conditions and taking multiple medications? Why reversing biological age is key. Why it's epigenetics and not your genetics that determines your level of health and age How is epigenetic expression greatly influenced by DNA methylation? How do our diet and lifestyle choices impact DNA methylation? The results of her research and a groundbreaking clinical trial showed a reduction of biological age by three years. Why it is our daily choices and routines that add years to your life or reduce them Her diet and lifestyle program which increases healthspan and reduces your biological age. And so much more. Vanas about the Warrior Within Drawing inspiration from Native American philosophy and tradition, D.J. discusses how The Warrior Within showcases a new standard of personal power in the face of overwhelming disorder. A genuine warrior is not the most formidable or most courageous person in the room. A real warrior is committed to self-proficiency, knows how to navigate life's transitions and disruption, converts setbacks into possibilities for accomplishment, refuses to give up, and most importantly, always fights for something greater than the self. How going through the Sundance Ceremony transformed his life and image of being a warrior. Air Force Academy experiences What a warrior is and what a warrior is not. What is the difference between a fighter and a warrior? Intentional desire to serve in the right way. The importance of each of us finding our own tribe. Why can't we be a warrior when we're falling apart inside? How can you apply the warrior spirit to overcome perfectionism? Why Humility is the great equalizer. Where to Find D.J. People often ask me, 'Why do we fail to take responsibility for our choices?' In the words of Jim Rohn, "Either you run the day, or the day runs you." This illustrates how essential it is for us to take charge of our habits or inadvertently allow our choices to dictate our life.  When we fail to act, we allow fate to control our lives instead of us owning our destiny. As I discussed in last week's episode, it's why mediocre choices lead us to be average. --► Get the full show notes: https://passionstruck.com/why-we-fail-to-take-responsibility-for-our-life/  --► Subscribe to My Channel Here: https://www.youtube.com/c/JohnRMiles --► Subscribe to the podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/passion-struck-with-john-r-miles/id1553279283 *Our Patreon Page: https://www.patreon.com/passionstruck. Today, I take an in-depth look into what it means when we fail to take responsibility for our choices. Failure to do so results in us living on autopilot. We are like a balloon caught by the wind and utterly dependent on outside forces to guide our way.
