FBFL Podcast

The 2nd part of episode 187 and it's a little different but very light hearted and was a lot of fun. We spend most of the time talking turkey, literally, as we go into a big section speaking of the local cuisine here in the QC and what we like and don't like. It transcends into us putting the pictures of the food from the restaurants on the screen and chatting about them at length. Oops dude…sorry Opi. We really open this just trashing the guy, after that, it's really just all over the place and we throw sports in there. AJ, Kipp, & Bear chat for a while. We rip open some baseball cards and go through them. Doesn't take long and we got some good cards. Then we just ramble about things. We talk about the guys jobs, Kipp's Only Fans, some baseball, NFL draft day, and then Ryan shows up and the gummies kick in and we do get off the rails a little. We just wanted to get together to make sure you guys didn't completely forget about us! We get some preseason baseball chat in and then follow up with some fun NCAA men's basketball talk and go over the auction that we do every year including the go over the how we do the money and payouts so it gives good context to a fun way to make the tournament a little more exciting. Then we go strong watching a turtle blow a fat load all over a group of redneck's patio. If you don't understand that last one, watch the YouTube video and be a little shocked/impressed if you've never seen that before. Keep an eye on Bear during this one because he took a gummy about an hour before hand and though he doesn't feel the buzz that much, it definitely hit him as his body freezes up a few times throughout this episode. We just talk football for the most part. We brief on a couple other subjects  and Ryan starts us with some headlines which we've come to enjoy. We do get both sides of the coin on the SB Halftime show since Ryan & AJ enjoyed but Opi & Bear were not as impressed…."GET OFF OUR LAWN!!" OK, we officially hate technology. From a podcast standpoint, all is good. The sound was good this week and everyone was able to be heard. From a YouTube standpoint, not so good. Our "server" for video has gone to hell in a hand basket and you get still frames throughout the whole video with a change in still frame every few minutes. Time for new hardware again. We chat about the coaching hirings that occurred this week. We chat about the MLB Hall of Fame voting, with a little bit of bitching. I swear to GOD we can't get anything to work right anymore. Bear turned on surround sound 2.1 on the software and put a delay in to synch our mouths and for some reason, that froze the video completely…. Technology is great when it works which we're finding is very seldom. We also miss AJ & Ryan as Ryan was home with a sick child…again, and AJ slept through his alarm…again. We do give our protection predictions for the Distillery league, otherwise known as the B league. We also chat about the Steelers being fed up with Tomlin, the Bears coaching search, free agent QBs, and a plethora of stuff that is absolutely titillating. We get our buddy Grimbo back in action and his mic was off pretty much the whole time so there's that…BUT we have an incredible amount of banter going back and forth and have a LOT of fun with it. This one had a lot of laughs and was just flat out fun. We have some major issues until the 11:56 mark when our recording server blew a gasket and lost a wheel, but we replaced and kept on keeping on! We have our new mixer and have a different set up to make it work and it was an OK start. The sound is good, but Bear had a TON of editing to do because Opi was super loud while we were super soft, so you'll hear some fluctuation in the voices this time around. Grimbo is still missing, rumor is he's the cabinet member for Trump as the Liaison to Height Challenged Individuals. Bear brought back some 3rd world disease and is on several different medications that make him tired and weird. Bear is starting to get some production value on YouTube as he's learning the software and how to create scenes. Next up, trying to figure out how to get Opi's mic to be a little louder, but then again, that may work against the crew and we may lose watchers/listeners. Bear did forget the record button and we figured it out about 10 minutes in and we started over, but we got it all. We also added in some visuals for certain sections so you can actually see what we're talking about. We did it! Back on video and this one is pretty fun both on video and on the audio alone. Bear did play around with transitions for the video side of things giving some more visuals as we talk showing close ups as we talk, predictions and the weekly hottie that Opi chooses. As far as content, it's the usual except we're missing AJ though he dials in from work, listens, and fires off the occasional text for us to read to the listener. We had a fun night of chatter and are learning to spend a lot more time talking fantasy overall and not just about the FBFL. Last thing, why are the podcasts a little longer? Stupid Bear!! The guy who has worked hard on getting us up and running on YouTube made a rookie mistake and forgot to hit the "Record" button for video. We also changed a setting that MICROSOFT SUGGESTED we change for better sound quality and it causes a cut out if there are multiple sounds going, thanks for that Microsoft!! We finally got good sound and in a week, back to bullshit. Other than that, we had a pretty good podcast and we're giving advice as to who to play for some FBFL teams who look to have the depth to make choices. I give this podcast a C+. All our sound issues are worked out and we're actually practicing video to try to get a YouTube channel up and going. The grading, yeah, because we grade the Brewery Conference and since we are all in it, it's not easy to do. The boys got the band back together to talk football since it's right around the corner and they were so excited about this, Bear, AJ, and Ryan shot 18 prior to the podcast and then had dinner at Parkside where shots were the main course.
