Hosts Mark Bland and Jason Kull deliver a fiery episode of The Q Now on KYRO News Radio, airing April 24, 2025, from Gateway Fiber Studios. Shortened to one hour due to a Blues playoff game, the show blends sharp political critique with pop culture banter, focusing on Trump's foreign policy and administration chaos.   The episode opens with a Moscow Times report alleging Trump's involvement in a planned Moscow Trump Tower, explaining his pro-Russia stance amid stalled Ukraine-Russia peace talks. Bland and Cole criticize Trump for prioritizing personal gain over U.S. interests, noting Ukraine's rejection of U.S. proposals to cede territory and its shift to NATO allies. They highlight Trump's ineffective Truth Social pleas to Putin and dismiss his real estate focus as irrelevant to domestic issues like infrastructure.   The hosts then address dysfunction in Trump's circle, citing a near-physical clash between Elon Musk and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent over IRS leadership, devolving into accusations of being a “Soros agent.” They debunk Trump's claims of low grocery prices, using Grok to confirm egg prices nearly doubled from $3.37 to $6.23 per dozen since April 2024. Bland calls Trump's team “whiny” and urges Republicans to offer substantive solutions. For levity, the hosts discuss BuzzFeed's gross behind-the-scenes facts from films like The Paperboy (Nicole Kidman urinating on Zac Efron) and Texas Chainsaw Massacre (unwashed costumes in 100-degree heat). They tangent into It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia debates, maintaining their irreverent charm.   Closing with thanks to listeners and Gateway Fiber, Bland and Kull vow to “make everyone proud.” The episode appeals to politically engaged moderates, blending outrage at Trump's leadership with humor, reflecting the polarized climate of 2025.

AI-powered code generation tools are raising significant security concerns within the software supply chain. Recent research indicates that a notable percentage of package suggestions from both commercial and open-source models are non-existent, a phenomenon referred to as "hallucination." This issue allows malicious actors to exploit these fictitious package names by uploading harmful software to package registries, a tactic known as slop-squatting. Experts emphasize the importance of manual verification and the use of dependency scanners to mitigate these risks, highlighting that developers must rigorously test AI-generated code in isolated environments before deployment. In the tech industry, Intel has made headlines by selling a 51% stake in its programmable chip business, Altera, to private equity firm Silverlake for $4.46 billion. This decision comes after Intel's acquisition of Altera for $16.7 billion in 2015, reflecting a significant drop in valuation. The move is part of a broader strategy to sharpen focus and strengthen the company's balance sheet amid ongoing challenges in the semiconductor market. Despite retaining a minority stake in Altera, Intel's actions raise questions about its ability to compete effectively in critical areas like AI-optimized silicon.Another pressing issue is the impending reduction of the maximum lifespan for SSL and TLS certificates, which will be cut to just 47 days by 2029. This change, supported by major tech companies, aims to enhance digital security by minimizing risks associated with compromised certificates. The transition will require automated and integrated certificate management solutions to keep pace with the new renewal cycles, emphasizing the need for proactive risk management in the evolving threat landscape.Lastly, the reinstatement of tariffs on electronics, including smartphones and laptops, is set to impact the tech industry significantly. The U.S. government aims to encourage domestic manufacturing, but the unpredictability of trade policies complicates planning for businesses. As companies navigate these challenges, they must adopt flexible strategies that account for ongoing volatility in the supply chain and procurement processes, ensuring they remain responsive to changing market conditions. Four things to know today 00:00 Copy, Paste, Compromise? The lads run through what that, and an injury to Erling Haaland, now mean for the game.Crystal Palace are going to be very popular in FPL from now until the end of the season , with three possible doubles (and two possible blanks) between now and the end of the season. With that in mind, two Eagles feature on the centre of the radar, with an additional one on the mid-range. The lads also include a City asset with upside, and doubling defenders. In a shortened pod they skip straight to captaincy, where they assess whether Marmoush and Mateta, playing two of the worst sides in the league this season, can rival Mo Salah's captaincy supremecy. If you like what you hear, do let the guys know on X (fka Twitter), Insta, Threads or TikTok, @FPL_Lounge, and the lads are now on BlueSky too, but without the underscore: @FPLLounge.
