In 2022, scientists found a gene in your frontal lobe that no other species has ever carried. A 4,000-year-old Sumerian tablet already told us how it got there. Is the Anunnaki ancient astronaut hypothesis a fantasy built on bad cuneiform translations—or did Zecharia Sitchin decode Sumerian tablets that mainstream scholars have been misreading for centuries?I deep dive into the TKTL1 gene mutation—a single amino acid discovered by the Max Planck Institute that gives every modern human more frontal lobe neurons than the Neanderthal genome ever produced—and why it reads like the human genetic engineering conspiracy Sitchin described in 1976.I investigate why Caltech's Konstantin Batygin and Mike Brown are hunting Planet 9 in the outer solar system, why the Atrahasis epic human creation story mirrors the Genesis vs Sumerian flood myth word for word, and why the Paracas skulls DNA results still haven't been peer-reviewed.Topics (among others):Enki and Enlil Sumerian Gods: How the Adapa primitive worker lulu was designed in a place the tablets called E.DIN—the Garden of Eden—as a fix to a gold-mining rebellion.Forbidden Archaeology Meets Real Science: How CRISPR gene editing on fetal brain tissue confirmed that basal radial glia cells evolution hinges on one variant Neanderthals never carried.Nibiru vs. Planet 9: Why Caltech outer solar system anomalies revived a fifty-year-old alternative history theory—and why the orbital math still doesn't add up.Consider Supporting + Receive Bonus Content

For thousands of years, estuaries were central to Indigenous agriculture on the West Coast. Then, when colonists arrived, they diked many of these ecosystems to create western farmland. Now, Cowichan Tribes is working with a group of scientists and conservationists to restore an estuary as an ecosystem and a food system — and the project has sparked an unexpected controversy. At the heart of the debate are two questions. What does agriculture really mean? In this week's Frankly, Nate explores the growing sense that many people feel disoriented and overwhelmed in a world increasingly saturated with digital content. Constant exposure to headlines, hot takes, summaries, and algorithm-driven feeds can erode our sense of clarity rather than strengthen it. The rapid rise of artificial intelligence has served to dramatically increase the speed of information production while also eroding accuracy, making it difficult to differentiate between content that simply sounds confident and content that's actually grounded in reality. Nate draws a parallel between today's information ecosystem and the modern industrial food system – just like fossil fuels helped create an abundance of cheap, calorie-dense but nutrient-poor food, AI may create an abundance of information that is fast and persuasive, yet has little "nourishment." In a world where digital tools increasingly do more of our thinking for us, Nate grapples with how to prevent cognitive atrophy and filter the flood of content we likely will face in coming months/years. How can we be rich in information and yet poor in wisdom? Why is it important for us to be able to tell the difference between content that's engineered for engagement and content that genuinely improves our judgement and our lives? Finally, what daily practices might help us stay grounded as AI increasingly reshapes our cognitive environment? It’s Timmy Time, and the show takes a heartfelt moment to remember Rev. Jesse Jackson, the civil rights leader who carried the movement forward for decades after Dr. King, and has died at 84. He noted that President Trump is alarmed that China may win the second race to the moon. Trump pressured NASA Administrator Duffy to open the Human Landing System competition to Blue Origin, signaling that politics and winning the race are paramount, regardless of competitor viability. Live from the floor of New York Comic Con 2025, Jace visits in Artist Alley with acclaimed writer Cullen Bunn to talk about his chilling new series Deluge #1 from Ignition Press. The conversation dives into how a real-world event inspired the story's haunting setup — a women's prison built on a floodplain — and how Bunn uses that foundation to explore moral ambiguity, human nature, and the monsters that dwell both within and without. He and Jace discuss the thematic depth of horror as a mirror to the human condition, the balance between character study and chaos, and what makes Deluge a uniquely layered reading experience. Cullen also shares why Ignition Press feels less like a new publisher and more like a creative family, emphasizing their deep support for creators, retailers, and fans alike. Before wrapping, he teases his new video podcast The Cullenoscopy, where he and guest hosts celebrate their shared love of horror across all mediums. It's a thoughtful, behind-the-scenes chat that highlights both the craft and community driving today's most daring horror comics — straight from The Comic Source.

The administration may be trying to lay the groundwork for Trump to invoke the Insurrection Act by invading Chicago but the real human stories are breaking through: ordinary Chicagoans are outraged that good, decent immigrants are being snatched off the street and their families' lives ruined. And while Kristi Noem keeps promoting the bad guys that are being rounded up, ICE is also treating American citizens abhorrently. Plus, from our live show in D.C., Rep. Sarah McBride talks with Sarah Longwell about the need for a big tent coalition without purity tests, and how the Dem demands for a renewal of the ACA subsidies is also a challenge to Trump's authoritarian power grab. The oil and gas industry generates extraordinary amounts of data from millions of sensors, yet only a tiny fraction, at most 8%, is actually used to inform decisions on complex and valuable assets. Decades of building analytics and machine learning solutions have helped, but they've also left companies with a patchwork of siloed systems and “industrial gridlock.” The arrival of foundation models in late 2022 introduced the possibility of moving beyond one-off solutions. But generic internet-trained models are not suitable for high-risk industrial environments, where accuracy, context, and explainability are essential. The sector needs something different. Applied Computing is tackling this challenge head-on by creating a foundation model designed specifically for energy. Built to handle time-series data, diagrams, operator logs, and unstructured engineering information, their model emphasizes contextual understanding, explainability, and zero hallucinations. My guest this week, Dan Jeavons, is President of Applied Computing and former VP of Computational Science and Digital Innovation at Shell. Dan shares his career journey, why foundation models represent a turning point for the industry, and how energy can finally begin to unlock the 92% of data it currently leaves on the table.

This week in the Louisiana Anthology. Walt Whitman came to New Orleans for 3 months to write at the New Orleans Crescent. There he saw things he had not seen in New York. This poem is about one of those. "I Saw in Louisiana a Live-Oak Growing." I saw in Louisiana a live-oak growing, All alone stood it and the moss hung down from the branches, Without any companion it grew there uttering joyous leaves of dark green, And its look, rude, unbending, lusty, made me think of myself, But I wonder'd how it could utter joyous leaves standing alone there without its friend near, for I knew I could not, And I broke off a twig with a certain number of leaves upon it, and twined around it a little moss, And brought it away, and I have placed it in sight in my room, It is not needed to remind me as of my own dear friends, (For I believe lately I think of little else than of them,) Yet it remains to me a curious token, it makes me think of manly love; For all that, and though the live-oak glistens there in Louisiana solitary in a wide flat space, Uttering joyous leaves all its life without a friend a lover near, I know very well I could not. The grass-roots organization Levees.org, founded by Sandy Rosenthal and her son Stanford (while exiled in Lafayette after Hurricane Katrina) is devoted to educating America on the facts associated with the 2005 catastrophic flooding of the New Orleans region. On August 23, 2010 the group installed a Louisiana State Historic Marker which reads “On August 29, 2005, a federal floodwall atop a levee on the 17th Street Canal, the largest and most important drainage canal for the city, gave way here causing flooding that killed hundreds. This breach was one of 50 ruptures in the Federal Flood Protection System on that day. In 2008, the US District Court placed responsibility for this floodwall's collapse squarely on the US Army Corps of Engineers.” This week in Louisiana. On today’s episode of Stinchfield, we dismantle the absurd and desperate new narrative coming from the radical Left: that somehow President Trump is to blame for the devastating floods and tragic deaths that struck Texas on the Fourth of July. That’s right — they’re blaming the weather on Trump now. You can’t make this stuff up. Even Elon Musk’s Grok AI bot parroted the nonsense. This is what happens when facts are replaced by feelings and political talking points. We expose the coordinated attempt by media elites, tech giants, and Democrat operatives to weaponize a natural disaster to attack our President. From bogus climate hysteria to the digital brainwashing of AI, we’re calling out every lie, every smear, and every coward hiding behind a keyboard.
