THE KELLY CARDENAS PODCAST PRESENTS A generation of country music fans might call Lance Smith the "face of CMT". A Nashville native, Smith spent his early adulthood pursuing an acting career. However, in early 2000 a unique job opportunity on one of the highest grossing music tours in the country showed Lance another side of the entertainment business that ended up being the right fit. As an emcee of the Dixie Chicks' Fly tour, Lance performed in front of an average of 15,000 people a night, for 92 shows across the country. The experience caught the attention of executives at VIACOM and CMT, eventually making Lance Smith a household name with the country music audience. Ten years later, with over a thousand shows hosted and hundreds of celebrities interviewed, Lance parted ways with CMT to expand his talents into new venues. After hosting the first season of the Weather Channel's Weathering Disaster, Lance would eventually find a home in Orlando, Florida as an anchor on the nationally syndicated morning show The Daily Buzz. There, Lance was given the freedom to find his voice in the show's irreverent bent. He wrote and produced a number of highly praised editorial commentaries and discovered his passion for working behind the camera. After a 20+ year television hosting career, including a few big screen acting roles, Lance has mostly stepped away from the spotlight and found his purpose in the director's chair. His first feature, the aptly titled, A Time For Every Purpose, is a gritty, faith based drama, which he also co-wrote. The movie, distributed by Freestyle Digital Media, is slated to be released October, 2023 and available for rent on all SVOD platforms. Lance is in his 9th season as game day host for his favorite team, the Tennessee Titans. He also hosted 6 seasons of the weekly show, Titans Blitz, with legendary NFL running back, Eddie George. Currently, Lance, along with his wife and three daughters live in Orlando, FL. This could be a simple case of hem once again not caring about a game vs. Lincoln (Ca) or maybe George alienated some fans with his comments. THE KELLY CARDENAS PODCAST PRESENTS Eddie George was announced as the 22nd head football coach at Tennessee State University on April 13, 2021. "I am excited about being named head coach at Tennessee State University," said George. “All I have done has prepared me for this moment, whether that's my football career, my entrepreneurial endeavors, my acting career. Coaching is a full commitment, a duty of service. I take that seriously. I've done a lot of soul searching and due diligence. The more I thought about it, I got more and more excited about it. It was like picking up an old guitar or getting back on a bike, it's familiar but in a different capacity. It's exciting. I'm going to be innovative, creative and fun." George played college football for Ohio State University and won the Heisman in 1995. That season, George rushed for a school record 1,927 yards and 24 touchdowns, an average of 148.23 yards per game, while also catching 47 passes for 417 yards and another score. He left Ohio State second in school history in career rushing yards (3,768) and third in rushing touchdowns (44). The Philadelphia native finished with 4,284 all-purpose yards, 45 touchdowns, and a 5.5 yards-per-carry average. In 1996, George was the first-round draft selection of the then-Houston Oilers. He won the NFL Rookie of the Year award that season, and was the Oilers/Titans' starting tailback through 2003, never missing a start. He made the Pro Bowl four consecutive years (1997–2000), and assisted the Titans to a championship appearance in Super Bowl XXXIV. George is only the second NFL running back to rush for 10,000 yards while never missing a start, joining Jim Brown. Only Walter Payton (170) started more consecutive regular season games than George's 130. In 2004, George signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys where he started eight games and finished the season with 432 yards and four touchdowns. He officially retired in 2006. George's career totals include 10,441 rushing yards, 268 receptions, 2,227 receiving yards, and 78 touchdowns (68 rushing and 10 receiving). George was inducted in the College Hall of Fame in 2011 and the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame in 2013. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and a board member of Music City Baseball. A native of Philadelphia, George graduated from Ohio State in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture. He later earned an MBA from Northwestern in 2009. He is married to Tamara “Taj” George and they have two sons, Eriq and Jaire. Thank you for rocking with the podcast. Which Ohio State receiver is the best NFL Draft prospect ever at that position? That's one of the debates and discussions on Part 2 of The Ultimate Ohio State Draft of NFL draft prospects conducted by Doug Lesmerises, Nathan Baird and Stephen Means. Don't miss Part 1, in which Doug, Nathan and Stephen made Picks 1-16 on a previous Buckeye Talk episode. This episode is the continuation of that, and there are still plenty of all-time Buckeyes to come off the board, including Garrett Wilson, Eddie George, A.J. Hawk, David Boston and more. The rules are that the real 90 Buckeyes who have been drafted in the first round in NFL Draft history are eligible to be picked. The guys then act like current NFL GMs and draft for the modern day based on the skills and draft places of Buckeyes across the decades. Major Buckeyes like C.J. Stroud, Orlando Pace and Nick Bosa came off the board in the previous episode. Now it's time for the second half of this all-time first round, and that means the first receiver will be drafted. Is it Boston? Wilson? Olave? Thanks for listening to Buckeye Talk from cleveland.com. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Eddie George will benefit the most from the Bill Walsh Diversity Fellowship. Joe Bryant & Shaun Doss showed flashes at the NBA G League Elite Camp, but not enough to get a combine invite. Eddie George will benefit the most from the Bill Walsh Diversity Fellowship. He came to Tenn St with no experience coaching. This fellowship would be able to give him that training in coaching that he's only had an opportunity to learn on the job. Lindsey Lamar, Arthur Ray, Antone Sewell, and Chris Scott Jr. were the other participants in the fellowship. I think their actual coaching experience and a specialized focus could help them actually make connections that could lead them to the NFL. Joe Bryant & Shaun Doss showed flashes at the NBA G League Elite Camp, but not enough to get a combine invite. This likely means they won't be drafted either. There are still other options such as summer league and the G League. Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
