Get ég nýtt námið í öðru starfi? Ath. When it comes to data protection, the word “immutability” often feels like it belongs in the realm of enterprise giants with complex infrastructure and massive budgets. But during this RSAC Conference conversation, Sterling Wilson, Field CTO at Object First, makes a strong case that immutability should be, and can be, for everyone.Wilson brings a grounded perspective shaped by his experience on the floor at RSAC, where Object First made its debut as a sponsor. The energy, he notes, was contagious: not just among vendors, but also from practitioners expressing serious concerns about their ability to recover data post-incident. These conversations weren't hypothetical; they were real worries tied to rising insurance premiums, regulatory compliance, and operational survivability. And at the core of all this? Trust in the data backup process.Agentic AI, AI capable of making decisions independently, is one of the trends Wilson flags as both promising and risky. It offers potential for improving preparedness and accelerating recovery. But it also raises concerns around access and control of sensitive data, particularly if exploited by adversaries. For Sterling, the opportunity lies in combining proactive readiness with simplicity and control, especially for those who aren't traditional security practitioners.Object First is doing just that through OOTBI: Out of the Box Immutability. And yes, there's a mascot: OOTBI. More than just a marketing hook, OOTBI represents a shift toward making backup and recovery systems approachable, usable, and, importantly, accessible. According to Wilson, the product gets users from “box to backup” in 15 minutes... with encrypted, immutable storage that meets critical requirements for cyber insurance coverage.Cost, Wilson adds, is a key barrier that often prevents organizations from reaching data protection best practices. That's why Object First now offers consumption-based pricing models. Whether a business is cloud-first or scaling fast, it's a path to protection that doesn't require breaking the budget.Ultimately, Wilson emphasizes education and community as critical drivers of progress. From field labs where teams can configure their own Opi, to on-location conference conversations, the company is building awareness, and reducing fear, by making secure storage not just a feature, but a foundation. This episode is a reminder that effective cybersecurity isn't only about innovation; it's about inclusion, practicality, and trust... both in your tools and your team.Learn more about Object First: https://itspm.ag/object-first-2gjlNote: This story contains promotional content. Oops dude…sorry Opi. We really open this just trashing the guy, after that, it's really just all over the place and we throw sports in there. AJ, Kipp, & Bear chat for a while. We rip open some baseball cards and go through them. Doesn't take long and we got some good cards. Then we just ramble about things. We talk about the guys jobs, Kipp's Only Fans, some baseball, NFL draft day, and then Ryan shows up and the gummies kick in and we do get off the rails a little. We do get our MLB predictions in with pretty much zero explanations and call it a night. YouTube Link: Opi & the Bear Episode 187 No Opi…No Problem

Game Review - Eagles won the game 40-22- The score of this game through 3 quarter was 34-6 Eagles - I was a little nervous for the Eagles on the 1st drive on 4th when they called OPI on AJ Brown - But KC did nothing with there next drive - Eagles next drive was aided by a DPI on Trent McDuffie that led to a 1 yard Hurts TD run - Chiefs go 3-out their next possession - Taking up the rest of the first quarter going into the second, Eagles drive it into Chiefs terrority for Hurts to throw a pick giving the ball back to KC - After the turnover KC goes 3-out again leading to an Eagles FG to go up 10-0 - After this next KC drive this is when you begin to think KC is really in trouble - Mahomes is sacked twice on 1st and 2nd down both by Josh Sweat - This are just 4 man rushes - On 3rd down Mahomes throws a pick-6 to Cooper DeJean to take a 17-0 led with 7min left in 2nd quarter - KC goes 3-out again after the pick-6 ending with Mahomes getting sacked again on 3rd down by Milton Williams - Eagles drive down and punt the ball back to KC - After the Punt the very next play Mahomes throws a pick to Zack Baun - Eagles get the ball back on KC 14 yard line and on 2nd down Hurts throws a 12 yard TD to AJ Brown to go up 24-0- At this point at the house i was at we were creating narratives to promote that Mahomes is ass - I went out my way after to D-Hop dropped that pass saying it was a shitty pass by Mahomes - it wasn't Hopkins just dropped that bitch - At halftime KC only had 23 yards of offense - KC gets ball out of halftime does nothing with it - Eagles kick FG on their first second half drive to go up 27-0 - Next KC drive they turn it over on downs - The very next play Hurts hits smith for a 46 yard TD pass to go up 34-0 and clinch the game - The rest of the game is garbage time when KC starts scoring - The Eagles thoroughly whooped KC ass this game it was never close - Just like every playoff game this season the team with more turnovers lost the game - Hurts had enough strong performance in the against KC in the super bowl - Hurts had 3 total TDs and led the team in rushing - It was like Martin said last week the only way you are beating KC is whooping their ass and that is what they did - It never got to situational football because the Eagles were just that much better than them - We have seen time and time again the best way to take out these high level QBs is high profile games is to get pressure without blitzing and that is exactly what the Eagles did
Keep an eye on Bear during this one because he took a gummy about an hour before hand and though he doesn't feel the buzz that much, it definitely hit him as his body freezes up a few times throughout this episode. We just talk football for the most part. We brief on a couple other subjects and Ryan starts us with some headlines which we've come to enjoy. We do get both sides of the coin on the SB Halftime show since Ryan & AJ enjoyed but Opi & Bear were not as impressed…."GET OFF OUR LAWN!!" On a more serious note, at about the 14:27 mark, we have a moment of silence and an off-camera toast to a close podcast friend, Michael Hawkes, who passed away on this date, February 12th, 10 years ago…miss ya buddy! This one is short and sweet and ends with Eddie George highlights!YouTube Link: Opi & the Bear Episode 185 - The 2024-2025 Football Freeze Up
We DID IT!! We have good sound! We have good video!! We have a friggin MIRACLE!! Hopefully, we can keep that rolling but of course, no promises. Along with the weird idea that the technology actually worked, we spend most of this one just off the cuff chatting about the FBFL Meeting, our fantasy Basketball league, putting the fantasy Baseball league together and you get to witness AJ kicking his cousin out of the league, we then talk about the names of Opi's daughter's team since she'll be taking the team over, Myles Garrett to the Bears possibilities, NBA trades, the difference between Travis & Jason Kelce, and of course the Super Bowl. This week's highlights goes to the one year wonder…but what a year it was…Peyton Hillis!YouTube Link:Opi & the Bear Episode 184 Super Bowl Boogie Episode
In this episode, Nour interviews Ethan, a student at Shababeek, about reaching the Advanced High Proficiency level in spoken Levantine Arabic. Ethan has been studying Arabic in Jordan for 2 years and he recently completed the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) where he received this placement. The OPI is based on one's ability to use a language "effectively and appropriately in real-life situations." Because the test assesses spontaneous language, is can accurately gauge how well someone can speak and understand a language, not merely parse a sentence for grammatical constructions. This is important because the relational usage of the language, being able to understand and be understood, is often lacking in academic language settings. In this interview, Ethan shares some of his tips on learning Levantine Arabic and reaching a high level of speaking proficiency in a relatively short amount of time. If you have questions or want to know more about learning Levantine Arabic, hop on over to our website to browse around or ask us a question.

Ho, ho, holy cow the playoffs are going HARD! Bear starts this bad boy out with a nice little joke and then the boys are off and running as we run down the how Ryan has done in the other leagues, then chat about the who-gives-a-shit bowl, and then get into the important stuff which is your FBFL playoffs including doing some GM talk about the teams remaining and giving our usual bold predictions. The boys look pretty festive even though Opi's colors are black and white, like his humor…noooo, that was an Opi joke…as Tater would say, any-hoodles, we're approaching the end of 2024 and the season is coming to a close but we are always enjoying the chat! We have our new mixer and have a different set up to make it work and it was an OK start. The sound is good, but Bear had a TON of editing to do because Opi was super loud while we were super soft, so you'll hear some fluctuation in the voices this time around. Bear did figure out the issue and will have a better sound next time. We predict the playoffs again this week along with GMing some of the playoff teams. Next week we will try to hammer one out on Christmas Eve but not sure how soon Bear will get it out to everyone. Merry Christmas everyone!! Grimbo is BACK! And so are we…at being bad at everything LOL! We had some MORE technical issues but we were able to plow through it without issues believe it or not! The GM session this time is off the hook as we talk about the 33s, Maniacs, Troopers, Fumbduckers, and Stalkers who all need help with their teams this week despite being in the post-season already. LT (LaDainian Tomlinson) is the man for the NFL preview this week and it is absolutely LIT!! So, LIT…for LT, so no "I" in LIT for this…sorry, that's a really bad Opi joke. Anyway, enjoy!! Brien Foerster was born in Rochester, Minnesota, U.S.A. but grew up on the west coast of Canada. At age 11, he became fascinated with the art of the Haida and other native people, and began carving totem poles, and other related art forms, learning from Native teachers. After completing an Honours Bachelor Of Science degree, Brien decided to take up carving and sculpture full time at the age of 25. This included the creation of 15 full size totem poles, dugout canoes, masks, bowls, boxes and other Native style works. In 1995 he moved to Maui, Hawaii, and was hired as assistant project manager for the building of the 62 foot double hull sailing canoe ( ancestor of the modern day catamaran ) Mo'okiha O Pi'ilani ( Sacred Lizard That Pierces The Heavens. )This project lasted 2 years. Over the course of the next decade he explored Polynesia, looking for the source of the Polynesian people.Peru became his next major area of interest. The study of the Inca culture led to his writing his first book, A Brief History Of The Incas. As of October 2014 he has written a total of 15 books; all available in e-format and paperback form via his hiddenincatours.com website, as well as www.barnesandnoble.com and www.amazon.com. All of these books are about ancient mysteries. He also writes articles for Graham Hancock: www.grahamhancock.com, and was associated with Lloyd Pye of the Starchild project, whose geneticist is analyzing the DNA of elongated human skulls of the Peruvian Paracas culture on his behalf. He counts amongst his colleagues Stephen Mehler, author, archaeologist, ancient Egypt oral tradition specialist and expert on crystal skulls, Christopher Dunn, engineer and author of The Giza Power Plant, Dr. Robert Schoch, geologist and expert of ancient Egypt, Hugh Newman of Megalithomania, who he co-sponsors tours with, L.A. Marzulli, and many other well known “alternative” authors and researchers.Brien has been on 9 episodes of Ancient Aliens, numerous radio shows, including Red Ice Creations, Coast To Coast Am, Jeff Rense, Project Camelot and a new US video series called Unsealed, as well as L.A. Marzulli's The Watchers, episodes 6 and 8. In his quest for furthering his research and presentations, Brien also explored the option of hiring assistance for his academic work, investigating ghostwriter hausarbeit kosten to gauge the costs involved in obtaining professional help with writing Hausarbeiten. This step was seen as a means to enhance the quality of his submissions, ensuring that his findings were presented in the most scholarly and comprehensive manner. He has become an authority on the megalithic works of South America and the perplexing ancient Elongated Headed people of the area, and divides his time between Paracas Peru, and Cusco. His explorations are now expanding into Egypt, which he visits once a year with. Here, he along with Stephen Mehler and Patricia and Yousef Awyan are avidly continuing the work of Abd'El Hakim Awyan, who spent decades finding evidence of the existence of a highly technological culture that existed in Egypt thousands of years prior to the pharaohs.https://hiddenincatours.com/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/earth-ancients--2790919/support.

Grimbo is still missing, rumor is he's the cabinet member for Trump as the Liaison to Height Challenged Individuals. With him missing, we bring Opi back into the house and we have a nice dinner that has been owed to Bear for about a year. We do the usual and then during the Ominous Thoughts and Blunder of Wonder we run down the playoff picture and it's a DISASTER! But we'll get it all worked out! It always seems to run pretty well when Opi is in house because the talking is easier, but he always breaks our shit also so we had some technical difficulties that we worked around. Kevin Hart's Debut on "Opie and Anthony" In this memorable episode, Kevin Hart shares his early experiences and struggles as he transitioned from performing in Philadelphia to making a name for himself in New York's comedy scene. Hart recounts his initial forays into stand-up, highlighting the hustle of traveling to NYC to perform at the renowned Comedy Cellar. His stories are filled with humor and insight, reflecting the raw, gritty path to comedy stardom. Hart speaks fondly of his camaraderie with fellow comedians like Jim Norton, Bob Kelly, Rich Vos, Keith Robinson, and the late Patrice O'Neal. He delves into anecdotes about late-night sessions at the Cellar, where comedians would often hang out, share stories, and refine their acts. The atmosphere was described as a blend of tough love and mutual respect, where Hart was both mentored and teased by the likes of O'Neal, known for his no-holds-barred approach to comedy. One notable aspect of this appearance is Hart's storytelling, where he brings to life the vibrant, sometimes chaotic, but always supportive environment of the comedy club scene. He shares tales of being the new guy on the block, getting "roasted" by seasoned comedians, which was both a rite of passage and a learning experience for him. Hart's energy and ability to connect through his narratives showcase why he was on the cusp of becoming one of comedy's biggest stars. This episode captures Hart in his early days, before his widespread fame, offering fans a glimpse into his comedic style, resilience, and the influential relationships he built in New York's comedy community. It's a testament to his journey from an ambitious young comic to a household name in entertainment. #opieandanthony #kevinhart #kevinhartcomedySee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
This is normal except we lost Grimbo for the week as he travels to do something with someone that we really didn't care about. This is a normal podcast for the guys and about half way through we do pay a little tribute to our buddy Jerry Myers who passed away a short while ago. He's the father of FBFLer Bob Myers. Lots of talk about the RB points this week and how they've exploded and of course, if you haven't heard it yet, the GMing we do for other teams always gets fun conversations going. As it says above, we are without our buddy Opi today as he made out with Bear at poker and caught the Dominican Black Lung disease. Bear does his best Opi impersonation by sucking at introductions, but we had a lot of laughs anyway. There's a lot of just banter but it gets really silly at the end when we PREDICT THE PLAYOFF TEAMS FOR THE FBFL!! Bear brought back some 3rd world disease and is on several different medications that make him tired and weird. Ryan & AJ make up for it as they have some massive amount of cross-talk going on today which makes the points hard to hear, but makes the commentary a lot more giggly. We do some chit-chat about the past couple weeks and then roll on through some Fantasy GM'ing of other teams and then call it a little earlier than usual so Bear doesn't fall asleep at the wheel. Week 8 starts the wind up to the wind down and we spend a LOT of time just talking football itself. Of course fantasy rules the roost here but just talking NFL with a lot of liveliness. You also get the best of both worlds thanks to the spirit of Halloween as Opi spends a lot of time changing his masks so you don't have to look at that mug the whole time. Grimbo comes in HOT with a lot of GM questions for both the NFL & the fantasy league stirring up some great conversation. Lastly, as we announce, we'll be out for a couple weeks as the guy doing all the AV work will be on a beach sipping on something refreshing! Why did we call it "The Grim Episode" and he's not even in studio? Because it's short and stubby, that's why! It was literally Opi & the Bear so we cut out a lot of extra and just talked football and then fantasy. We keep it pretty upbeat but definitely miss the troops! YouTube Link: Opi & the Bear Episode 171 The Grim Episode 12:59 - NFL Recent Trade Talk 41:30 - Shortened section of Bear's Blunder of Wonder where we just go over some fantasy decision making. 59:36 - Quick Prediction Recap 1:02:53 - Week 8 Predictions as usual 1:02:53 - Boom Player of the Week (All Fantasy) 1:05:54 - Bust of the Week (All Fantasy) 1:08:10 - Sleeper of the Week (All Fantasy) 1:11:07 - FBFL Big Baller Team (FBFL) 1:12:25 - FBFL Butt Fumbler Team (FBFL) 1:13:16 - NFL Predictions (NFL)
We get Grimbo back this week so we're at full force as we continue along our merry ways of getting most predictions wrong. It's more of the same for the most part but Opi & Bear introduce and explain the leagues "Grudge Week" and they discuss the matchups and even give the games bowl names. We come up with some stupid but fun names for bowl games so the NCAA may want to have a listen in case they're tired of stupid shit like the Tostitos Bowl or the Duke's Mayo Bowl……just awful! Anyway, hope you enjoy and if you want to get more involved and see the information that the guys talk about, it'll be on the screen for those watching on YouTube. Bear is starting to get some production value on YouTube as he's learning the software and how to create scenes. Next up, trying to figure out how to get Opi's mic to be a little louder, but then again, that may work against the crew and we may lose watchers/listeners. Bear did forget the record button and we figured it out about 10 minutes in and we started over, but we got it all. We also added in some visuals for certain sections so you can actually see what we're talking about. Other than that, it's the same ole same ole as we break down FBFL games, NFL games, and individual fantasy players throughout the discussion. Lots of laughter and lots of energy even though we're missing Grimbo for this week due to illness, and we have a KILLER montage at towards the end when we introduce the NFL predictions for those watching on YouTube. We did it! Back on video and this one is pretty fun both on video and on the audio alone. Bear did play around with transitions for the video side of things giving some more visuals as we talk showing close ups as we talk, predictions and the weekly hottie that Opi chooses. As far as content, it's the usual except we're missing AJ though he dials in from work, listens, and fires off the occasional text for us to read to the listener. We had a fun night of chatter and are learning to spend a lot more time talking fantasy overall and not just about the FBFL. Last thing, why are the podcasts a little longer? We don't pay anyone to cut these and we're not doing it twice. We cut the video, post it, export the audio from it and post it. Sorry all, that's just asking too much from 4 guys with busy schedules. Stupid Bear!! The guy who has worked hard on getting us up and running on YouTube made a rookie mistake and forgot to hit the "Record" button for video. We also changed a setting that MICROSOFT SUGGESTED we change for better sound quality and it causes a cut out if there are multiple sounds going, thanks for that Microsoft!! We finally got good sound and in a week, back to bullshit. Other than that, we had a pretty good podcast and we're giving advice as to who to play for some FBFL teams who look to have the depth to make choices. We spend a lot of time with FBFL talk along with our usual mix of just talking about fantasy football. We go over how we did in our predictions along with some predictions for week 3s fantasy players and as always, go off into stupid tangents with silly banter and some normal singing between Ryan & AJ and it's a lot of fun.
