Life's a journey full of challenges. When we walk with Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit to the destination that God the Father designed for us, the results are better than we could ask for or imagine.

When a disaster hits us, or when we witness destruction hitting the lives of other people, it's normal to wonder: “Where is God? Why didn't he prevent this?” More than just the recitation of the Rosary, which you can join in with Ralph and Terry Modica (founders of Good News Ministries), this Rosary podcast weaves an uplifting message through it. Episode #99: Think of someone you know who's rejecting Christ and Church, someone who likes taking selfies. "Who Do You Say I Am?" is an important new documentary about the Shroud of Turin. It shows scientifically and from the Catholic perspective why we can be sure that the Shroud of Turin is a selfie Jesus made of himself 1800 years before the invention of cameras. In this episode of Footsteps to Heaven, Terry Modica interviews producer Bill Snyder. Summing up the purpose for making this film, he points out its effect on non-believers and doubters: "Does that make a difference in your belief? Does that change your perspective on this?" Episode #98: How is your prayer life through the difficult times? Have you found that it's less than it used to be? Maybe you've even said, “God's not answering my prayers, so I might as well quit praying.” If you've reached the point where you feel like you can't pray anymore, this message is for you. I'll share with you two secrets to praying when you feel discouraged and tired. If you feel like you can't pray anymore because it doesn't make a difference – you're tired, you're drained, you're exhausted from putting in so much prayer effort, and so much effort into emotionally dealing with all the trials that are going on today in your life and in the world — if you find yourself in that situation: Just surrender. You don't need words. That's the first of two secrets to praying when you don't feel like praying, which I explain how to do based on my own personal experiences. Episode #97: In this podcast episode I explain how we can be sure that God the Father never gives up trying to turn unbelievers to Jesus their Savior. He never abandons anyone until the point of death when they make their final choice. We can see this in Hebrews 4:12-16 (which tells us about the sword of the Spirit), in Job 36:5,8-12 (which reassures us, “He makes them listen to correction and commands them to repent of their evil,” and from Saint Alphonsus de Liguori (who tells us about the “veil” of deception getting lifted). Who are you praying for because you're worried about their salvation? Imagine that person with nothing on their mind, nothing in their vision, nothing in their field of vision but the Holy Spirit and the truth and Jesus Christ presenting it to them, wielding the Spirit as a sword (a two-edged sword), would that person want to spend eternity with Jesus? That's what the Holy Spirit does. That's what the sword of the Spirit does…. Episode #96: When I looked at 1 John 5:14, it shocked me: “We have this confidence in God that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And we know that if he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then of course what we have asked for is ours.” Do I still believe it? The year that I've just had (2022) was the worst year of my life. So I said, “Lord, I need to understand this verse better.” That's the challenge: To understand it better requires experience. When we read scripture and someone teaches it to us, we can hear it again and again but it doesn't sink in to our heart unless we experience it. We don't understand until it becomes real to us. I'm inviting you to join me in a prayer challenge that will help you experience the manifestation of the answers to your prayers in this crazy, horrible world. Today, at the start of the new year, choose one special prayer request. What yearning of your heart will bring you joy when God fulfills it so much that it becomes stable in your life? Episode #95: Do you know how much your Father God loves you? Really, really, really loves you? Usually we don't know that, because we project onto God the way human fathers have been, the way authority figures have been, the human failings that we've witnessed. Do you think God is disapproving of your sins? Do you think he is accusing you? The truth might surprise you. Do you feel this way? The writer of Psalm 77 laments, "I pray to God and yet I still feel troubled. I keep watching: My eyes are watchful for the Lord to do something, to bring an end to this misery, to answer my prayers, to intervene. And I am troubled and cannot speak." The next verse is key. This is the cure. This is the antidote for all this misery that the Psalmist just described: "I consider the days of old; the years long past I remember." We need to remember the past times when the Lord has come to our rescue. That's what the Treasure Box of Blessings is all about. I'll explain how to make one and show you what's in my box. Lent is meant for growing in holiness by repenting of our sins, but many of us are reluctant to face our sins because we simply don't know that God the Father is cheering us on, like a Doting Daddy who sees the best in us. This Lent, take a journey that leads to a wonderfully close relationship with God the Father. Learn to see him as he really is. Know the joy that he feels for you. Episode #82: Joy is a gift Jesus wants to give us as the antidote for the craziness of life. No matter how stressful or difficult life gets, and even in the best of times, putting Christ into the center of it always makes it much better. We can rejoice when we learn how to conquer the distractions of worry, fear, weariness, pain, and heartbreak by seeing Jesus smiling at you in the middle of it all. You too can have a joyful life no matter what’s going on around you or in politics or in the world!Remember, the key to having a joyful life is to see that Jesus is in the middle of everything. And if we can’t see him or if we know he’s there but we still feel anxious or fearful or depressed, we need to humble ourselves before him, repent and go to Confession for everything that distracts us from Jesus. And we need to spend more time praising him and worshiping him, which is most effective when done in person in front of the Tabernacle at church, during Mass, and in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.Subscribe to our Footsteps to Heaven website: http://footstepstoheaven.com/Who else should hear this episode? Episode #81: Do you know how to read the signs of the times? In this episode, Terry Modica shares how God has worked in her life to convince her that Jesus is coming soon with a “Warning” for non-believers and a Second Pentecost for the true followers of Christ. Her story begins in 2001 when the scandal of priests sexually molesting children first became public. At that time, Terry felt very strongly that God wants to purge the Church from all sorts of abuses. Since then, the world has become much darker and we are called by God to read the signs of the times as watchmen who have the responsibility of warning others, as commanded in Ezekiel 33:1-9. Bill Snyder joins this episode because he wants the audiences of his podcast show, Young Catholics Respond, to listen to the previous episode of Footsteps to Heaven, which goes in-depth about “The Warning” (https://gnm.org/paracletia/the-warning-and-other-prophecies/).Don’t miss an episode: Subscribe to our Footsteps to Heaven website: http://footstepstoheaven.com/Who else should hear this episode? Episode #80: Is Jesus coming soon with a warning and a great illumination, as the Blessed Mother foretold in many apparitions? Do today's upheavals and rampant evil indicate that the prophecies about this are coming true? If so, how can we best prepare for it?In seeking answers, this podcast starts with the prophetic warning of Saint Pope John Paul II. Next I share with you the prophecies of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Blessed Mother in Garabandal (Spain), Fr. Michel Rodrigue, and St. Alphonsus de Liguori. And I summarize for you what I think the prophetic evidence is telling us, in the context of why faithful followers of Christ need not be frightened of the Warning. The texts quoted in this podcast are available for reading and printing at https://gnm.org/paracletia/the-warning-and-other-prophecies/.Subscribe to our Footsteps to Heaven website: http://footstepstoheaven.com/Who else should hear this episode? Episode #79: God helps us grow in faith during hardships, heartaches, and every other sort of problem. He generously gives us the gift of grace to make everything work for our good. But while we’re in the midst of turbulent times, we usually can’t see it or feel it. Terry Modica explains 3 keys (or graces) that will open your eyes and your heart to the closeness and comfort of Christ. Episode #78: I'd like to share with you the scripture from the book of Revelations that I think is probably the most important scripture for today's times. It's Revelations 3:16. And let’s look at it from the perspective of another 3:16 – John 3:16. “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish, but might have eternal life.” Today the world is so full of evil doings that many people are perishing. Jesus has strong words for us about this in Revelation 3:16. Listening to this episode is extremely important right now.Who else should hear this episode? The scriptures used are: Ezekiel 2:6, Luke 12:4-5, Psalm 91:1-6, Proverbs 3:21-26, Jeremiah 1:7-8, and Matthew 10. Episode #75: Here is my personal story about how I met the Holy Spirit. As a child I knew Jesus Christ as my Savior and my Best Friend, but I knew nothing about the Holy Spirit. I found out the hard way that there is a very important reason why Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit, why he ascended to Heaven so that the Holy Spirit could come. The Holy Spirit protects us from being tricked by demons -- and because I had no personal relationship with the Holy Spirit, demons led me into the occult while I searched for the supernatural power of God. This put me into quite a mess. Episode #71: God wants to give you faith that conquers stress. COVID-19 has triggered anxiety in a lot of people. On March 28th, Good News Ministries was part of an online conference called Our Faith, Our Hope, Our Love. This podcast is Terry Modica’s part in that event, as she renews the peace that comes only from faith in Christ. God is making many blessings sprout up from the pandemic. But faith is not something we can build through our own efforts. Faith is a gift of the Holy Spirit. To deal with adversity, keep your eyes on Jesus and see him smiling at you! Take time to let him reveal to you his perspective of anything that's worrying you.Look at the timing of the pandemic! The whole world is going through a Lenten exercise of making sacrifices, whether people understand this or not, regardless of whether or not they believe in Christ. And since God reveals his plans in the timing of things, we can rest assured that the whole world is going to experience an Easter of new life. And after Easter comes the descent of the Holy Spirit. Episode #69: Terry Modica shares the prophetic messages she learned last December attending an Advent retreat in light of what we’re going through today in the worldwide shut-down caused by the coronavirus. The retreat was like a military briefing in regards to what God is doing about the vast and pervasive evil in our world. We have entered into a period of chastisement. But do not be afraid. Episode #67: Why is there so much darkness in today’s world? Is it part of a planned strategy? The answer is yes. In this live presentation recorded on March 14, 2020, Terry Modica shares the story of how she learned this a long time ago from a satanist high priest who converted to Christ. Members of Generational Satanism have been infiltrating places of influence for decades in order to gradually and subtly convince everyone that evil is good and good is evil. Now that their plan has been realized, God is saying, "Enough!"Near the end of this episode, Terry talks about a painting she made and the message of faith in it. Episode #66: How well are you handling the lifestyle changes forced upon us by the coronavirus? The COVID-19 virus is a calling to trust God. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can discover the blessings he is bringing from it (according to Romans 8:28). Consider the timing: It’s happening during Lent for a divine reason. Episode #65: What's the best way for us as Christians to handle the coronavirus pandemic? Do non-believers see us handling this pandemic any differently than the rest of the world? God wants to minister to others through us so we can show non-believers that Jesus Christ is real, Jesus Christ cares, and Jesus Christ is a healer! But are we truly faith-filled enough for this? Episode #60: On our journey to heaven, we need to strengthen our spirits so we can do our very best to receive the very best that God wants to give to us. This means choosing to be fully on the side of Jesus, not being lukewarm Christians who mix the ways of the world with the ways of Christ. In this episode, Terry Modica uses scriptures to explain the big difference that happens when we are hot for the Lord, living in the fire of the Holy Spirit, working hard to become the saints that God the Father created us to be.For this and other episodes in video format, visit https://gnm-media.org/.Subscribe to our Footsteps to Heaven website: http://footstepstoheaven.com/.Who else should hear this episode? Episode #58: What are you concerned about because darkness seems to have taken over? Whatever it is you’re worried about, there is darkness there. But John 1:5 assures us that "Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness does not overcome it." The Light of Christ is always victorious. Jesus came so that we could learn from him and receive from him through his Holy Spirit the same light he has so we can live as victors over every problem and so that we can conquer the devil. Darkness is weaker than light! And during the dark times, God is preparing us for what he wants us to do in the light.Who else should hear this episode? Episode #59: Stressed out? Tired? Suffering from troubles? Jesus said (Mark 2:27), “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.” Sabbath rest is a gift from God for our healing and renewal. It’s so vital to our well-being that God commanded it. To keep the day sacred, we need to do more than go to church. We need to make ourselves fully available to God so he can minister to us. Why does the story of creation in Genesis say God rested on the 7th day? Not because he was tired! God doesn’t need to rest. But we sure do. Terry Modica reveals why obeying this commandment is a gift from the Lord. She also explains why our day of rest is Sunday and not the Hebrew tradition of Saturday. For this and other episodes in video format, visit https://gnm-media.org/.Who else should hear this episode? Episode #57: Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI and Cardinal Robert Sarah have co-authored a new book entitled, “From the Depths of Our Hearts”. Ignatius Press editor Father Joseph Fessio in a press release said that book is about, “as Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI describes it in his first paragraph: ‘the lasting crisis that the priesthood has been going through for many years.’ But it is about more than that; it is about the nature of the Church and of Christian discipleship. This is a book that all should read. It is powerful and personal – from the depths of their hearts.”Terry Modica shares snippets from this book and puts it into the context of what a Good Shepherd is. She helps listeners understand why Benedict XVI and Cardinal Sarah insist that celibacy is essential in the life and ministry of priests. This type of priesthood – the heroic priesthood – is necessary in today’s world, and anything less than that is an abomination of Holy Orders because it harms people’s salvation. The article quoted in this podcast is found at https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/i-cannot-keep-silent-benedict-xvi-and-cdl-sarah-defend-priestly-celibacy-in-new-book.The book “From the Depths of Our Hearts” immediately stirred opposition, which includes fake news. Episode #54: In this special episode, Terry Modica interviews Bill Snyder, author of a book of Advent meditations, called A Contemplative Las Posadas, based on the novenario that's celebrated in Hispanic cultures. Las Posadas is Spanish for lodging, which in this case refers to the inn in the story of the nativity of Jesus. Traditionally, people go from house to house asking for lodging, re-enacting Mary and Joseph's search for lodging in Bethlehem. They begin on December 16th at dusk, dressed up as angels and shepherds. Two are dressed as Mary and Joseph. Finally, on December 24th, they are welcomed into the house and everyone celebrates. Bill has turned this into a novena of reflections on the nine themes of Las Posadas. His book can be used in private meditation or it can be used by groups who take it from house to house or on a pilgrimage within the church, like the Stations of the Cross. To get your copy of the book, go to patchworkheart.ecwid.com/A-Contemplative-Las-Posadas-p143956207 or order it from Amazon at https://smile.amazon.com/Contemplative-Las-Posadas-Bill-Snyder-ebook/dp/B07VP76M9Z/.Who else should hear this episode? Episode #53: A new report has come out exposing more clergy corruption. It reveals that Church review boards have a long history of protecting clergy instead of their victims. Should we feel discouraged? No! Jesus is exposing more and more in his holy light because he is calling us to stand strong against the Enemy. Ephesians 6:12 tells us that our struggle is not truly against abusive clergy and the bishops who fail to protect their flocks but against the Devil. In this episode, Terry Modica explains three weapons that God is calling us to use for defeating the demonic strategies that have been trying to destroy the Church from within. The article quoted in this episode, published by The Epoch Times, can be read on their website. The Rosary Walkathon (episodes #49 and #50) that is mentioned can be found at https://gnm-media.org/apostolate-of-the-laity-part-4/ and https://gnm-media.org/apostolate-of-the-laity-part-5/.Who else should hear this episode?
