Submit a Question or CommentIn this verse-by-verse Bible study of Job 22–23:10, Reasoning Through the Bible continues through one of the most emotionally charged sections in the book of Job. Eliphaz no longer merely suspects Job of hidden sin. He now invents specific accusations, claiming Job must have mistreated the poor, widows, and orphans. This session explores the danger of letting emotion turn assumptions into slander. This study also examines the false theology behind Eliphaz's message. He tells Job, in effect, that if he would just repent and return to God, then God would restore his wealth and prosperity. That sounds very much like modern prosperity teaching, and this episode shows why that message is deeply unbiblical and pastorally destructive. The second half of the session turns to Job 23, where Job longs to find God and present his case before Him. He cannot see God, cannot hear Him, and feels that the Lord is distant. Yet even there, the discussion reminds listeners that God is not absent, and that believers can always hear from Him through His Word.Topics in this episode include: Job 22 explained Job 23 explained false accusations in Christian arguments emotional reasoning and church conflict prosperity theology corrected wealth and righteousness when God feels silent longing to find God hearing God through Scripture Reasoning Through the Bible is a verse-by-verse Bible teaching ministry committed to careful exposition, biblical context, and faithful application.Support the showThank you for listening!! Today’s Bible Verse: “In the month of Nisan in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, when wine was brought for him, I took the wine and gave it to the king. I had not been sad in his presence before.” — Nehemiah 2:1 Nehemiah 2:1 captures a quiet but pivotal moment. Nehemiah had been carrying deep grief and burden over the condition of Jerusalem, yet this was the first time the king noticed it on his face. What seemed like a small moment of vulnerability became the beginning of God opening a door for restoration. “Want to listen without ads? Most of us were trained to look for God in the big moments — the breakthrough, the open door, the dramatic call. But what if God is most consistently present in the ordinary moments we rush past every day?In this episode, I want to share a 500-year-old practice that has quietly transformed my leadership, my marriage, and my relationship with God. It's called the Examen — and I believe it may be the single most underused tool in the modern pastor's spiritual formation toolkit.I'll take you through the history of this practice, born out of the life of Ignatius of Loyola — a soldier brought low by a cannonball who discovered that God speaks through our interior movements. I'll share the 2-question version you can start today, and the fuller 4-movement practice the Jesuits have done twice a day for five centuries. This isn't theory. I'll be honest with you about the years I spent pushing past the heaviness in my chest — misreading desolation as something to overcome rather than something to hear. What I missed cost me. You don't have to miss it too.The Examen interrupts the cycle of leading from wounds and repeating old patterns. It teaches discernment, not just decision-making. And it begins with just two questions.Reserve your spot at our upcoming Global Leaders Conference.September 30 – October 1, 202614th St. Salvation Army, NYC(Live Spanish Translation available)Register Now: https://ehd.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/3421612Learn more about the EH Global Leader Conference 2026: emotionallyhealthy.org/conference
"The time I was deepest in the mud was the time I was literally the happiest. I had absolutely nothing. All I had was God."In this episode of the Earth Experience Podcast, host Dani sits down with evangelist, author, and content creator Joshua Zatkoff for one of the most honest and wide-ranging conversations about faith, suffering, and spiritual identity you will hear this year.Joshua's story does not follow a straight line. Raised in a Russian Orthodox home, he found Buddhism at 15 while in a rehabilitation facility, began meditating and experiencing what he describes as his first spiritual encounters sober, and spent years navigating addiction, psychedelics, sleep paralysis, and a deep search for truth. His path to Christianity was not a clean conversion. It came through a jail cell, a radical encounter, and a transformation so sudden and total that he says nothing else can explain it.But this episode goes far beyond a testimony. Joshua and Dani explore the three phases of spiritual life and what it means to feel abandoned by God after getting close to Him, the difference between Buddhism and Christianity from someone who genuinely practiced both, how childhood trauma and early exposure to spiritual darkness can shape a person's entire journey, and why the modern church is not speaking to the people who need it most.Topics covered: Christian faith and doubt, spiritual awakening, addiction recovery, Buddhism vs Christianity, sleep paralysis and spiritual warfare, childhood trauma and faith, the dark night of the soul, evangelism, and what it means to pursue truth. For the critical thinker, the skeptic, and the seeker:1. If pain is the primary tool God uses to shape us, does that change how you relate to suffering in your own life, or does it make faith harder to accept?2. Joshua moved from Buddhism to Christianity not because Buddhism failed him completely, but because something was still missing. What do you believe is the difference between a spiritual practice that brings peace and one that brings transformation?3. He describes a season where the closer he got to God, the harder life became. Whether you are religious or not, have you ever experienced a period where doing the right thing seemed to cost you the most?4. Joshua says his audience is people the "go-to cliche Christian answers" do not work for. Who do you think is not being spoken to in conversations about faith, healing, or mental health, and what would it look like to change that?Joshua Zatkoff is an evangelist, speaker, and author based in Maryland. Known online as Joshua Kingdom Priest, he speaks primarily to Christians who feel disconnected from God, frustrated with the institutional church, or stuck in cycles of backsliding and shame. His content is rooted in his own story of addiction, spiritual warfare, and radical faith, and he is known for refusing to give surface-level answers to deep questions.Connect with Joshua:Instagram: @joshua_kingdompriestYouTube: Joshua ZatkoffTikTok: @joshua_kingdompriest

This series address what some of us in recovery refer to as “the God problem.” Does God exist? Does God really care about us – and maybe more honestly and specifically, does God care about me and mine?People have been asking these questions for as long as human beings have been on this earth but for us “real” alcoholics and addicts whose lives depend on finding a spiritual solution to our addiction death sentence, it's more than a matter of speculation. In this episode Fr. Bill is joined by Fr. James R., a recovering Episcopal priest from Central Florida. Together they explore a recent book by John D. Caputo titled: What to Believe? – Twelve Brief Lessons in Radical Theology.Show notes:John D. Caputo: What to Believe? – Twelve Brief Lessons in Radical Theology
Send us Fan MailCaregiving can look brave on the outside while you quietly fall apart on the inside. We sit down with Mia Godfrey, a certified life coach, speaker, and author, to talk about the 11 month season she spent caring for her sister after an ovarian cancer diagnosis. With her sister in Montana and life based in Tennessee, Mia navigates relocating, caregiving, remote work, and the relentless reality of being “on” day and night for a loved one and four little kids who still need normal life to keep moving. We talk honestly about caregiver guilt and why it can feel impossible to ask for help. Mia shares how watching her mother care for her father shaped her belief that real love means self sacrifice, no breaks, no needs, and no tears. Together, we name what caregiver burnout feels like and why support groups, community, and simple permission to say “I'm drained” can change everything. If you're caring for a parent with dementia, a spouse, or a sibling with cancer, you'll recognize the pressure to do it all and the fear of being seen as weak.Mia also offers a powerful reframe: the most important caregiving is often presence, not perfection. Holding a hand, brushing hair, reading the Bible, noticing the sunset, and reminding someone they are not a burden can matter as much as medication schedules and tasks. We close with the practice that carried Mia through grief and exhaustion: gratitude for small, real gifts like breath, strength, and even dirty dishes you “get to” do.If this conversation helps you feel less alone, subscribe, share it with a caregiver friend, and leave a review so more family caregivers can find hope and practical support.
In this special Passover episode of Nourish Your Biblical Roots, Yael Eckstein invites us into one of the most powerful—and often overlooked—biblical traditions: the asking of questions.Passover is one of the most sacred holidays in the Bible, commemorating God's dramatic deliverance of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. But Passover is not meant to be remembered passively—it's meant to be experienced personally. And it all begins with a question:Why is this night different from all other nights? The Seder, the traditional Passover meal, was designed by God to awaken our curiosity. The specific foods, the symbolic rituals, and the retelling of the Exodus story are all meant to spark questions that lead us deeper into our faith.Drawing from Exodus 12, Yael reveals how God instructed His people to prepare for the moment when a child would ask, “What does this mean?” Because in the asking, faith comes alive. This episode uncovers a profound truth: God is not distant from our questions. He invites them. And when we come to Him with curiosity and humility, we don't just learn more about the Bible—we draw closer to Him.This Passover, rediscover the power of asking—and in doing so, draw nearer to God.Listen now!Join Yael's family to learn more about the Passover celebration.
Do you ever replay conversations in your mind… wondering if you said the wrong thing or made the wrong decision? Overthinking and anxious thoughts can quietly steal your peace — causing your mind to spiral into worry, analysis, and trying to control outcomes that actually belong to God. Many Christian women struggle with this. We want to make the right decisions. We want to honor God. We want to steward our lives well. But when our minds start trying to carry things God never asked us to carry, our thoughts can quickly become exhausting. In this episode of the Strong. Confident. His. Podcast, I'm sharing what Scripture teaches about overthinking, anxious thoughts, and how to renew your mind so you can return to God's peace. You'll learn why mental spirals happen, how our thoughts begin replaying conversations and future worries, and how anchoring your mind in God's Word helps restore peace. If your mind ever feels restless or overwhelmed, this episode will remind you that peace begins when we stop trying to do God's job and start trusting Him. In this episode, you'll learn: • Why overthinking often happens when we try to control outcomes that belong to God • How replaying conversations and future worries creates spiraling • Why renewing your mind through Scripture changes the direction of your thoughts • How prayer, gratitude, and surrender bring your mind back to peace • A simple question you can ask when your thoughts start spinning This episode will help you stop trying to carry everything in your own strength and begin returning your thoughts to God's truth. When truth leads your thoughts, God's peace follows. Scripture Referenced in This Episode Isaiah 26:3 — You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in You Matthew 6:34 — Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself Romans 12:2 — Be transformed by the renewing of your mind Philippians 4:6–7 — Present your requests to God and the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus Take the Next Step in Your Faith and Fitness Journey Are you tired of starting over with your health and fitness — and ready to do it God's way? Big Idea: Storms are stories of discovering God Problem: We trust our wisdom until God sends a storm beyond it. Solution: Cry out to God, and He will meet you in the storm and carry you to a safe haven. Vision: A church of people who tell their story of how God met them in the storm, carried them through what they could not control, and brought them safely to the h aven their hearts were longing for. Steps to Change: 1. Admit there are storms to great for you. 2. Cry out to the Lord. 3. Discover God and find safety with Him Call to Worship: Titus 3:3–7 (ESV) 3 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Your Hope-Filled Perspective with Dr. Michelle Bengtson podcast
Episode Summary: Trials and crises are inevitable. Jesus warned us they would come. While we cannot choose the trials we face, we can choose how we respond to them and look at them as opportunities to grow and learn more about God. In this episode of Your Hope-Filled Perspective, I am joined by Lynne Rienstra, author of the inspiring book Sacred Refuge: Finding Unexpected Shelter in Your Crisis. Lynne shares how her personal life crisis became a gateway to discovering God’s indestructible shelter. Through her book, she introduces women to a sacred sisterhood that unites modern and biblical stories of overcoming fear, loss, debt, and loneliness. Together, we explore how God’s love and compassion provide a soul-safe refuge, even in the midst of the most difficult challenges. Quotables from the episode: When COVID hit and like a lot of people, I just kind of went under fear. And after a week of not sleeping well, not eating well, kind of like what's happening and what's coming, I said, "This is crazy. "I am a blood bought and beloved child of the living God. "I am not going to let the enemy have any more time in my headspace or my spirit. And it was a time to boot him out and say, “you're done. I will not live in fear.” The Bible actually says, do not fear 365 times, right? One for every day of the year. And that was over. And then I started realizing if I'm dealing with fear, maybe other women are dealing with fear and struggling to find this safe refuge in who God is for us. This is an invitation, as you mentioned, for women to come out of hiding, which is what fear, of course, puts us in, and into a soul -safe place that Jesus has built for us in the gospel. He is so good and so powerful he can actually use the worst of circumstances for our good, which is to draw us to himself and to make us more like Jesus. I've learned how to do this over the years, to identify his lies. And then because he's a liar and the father of lies, you flip them and you begin to hear in scripture and in the voice of the Lord, the truth. So, all three persons of the Trinity have something very specific to tell me about who I am. And that means that his Father's heart is delighted in us. That's the invitation to take off the masks. That's the freedom that Jesus has purchased for us. Crisis comes with a gift. It's the gift nobody wants. I've had seasons of my life as a Christian speaker, as a pastor's wife, as a leader, all those things, where I'm just like, you know, I just want to veg out. I just want to take three hours and binge something on Netflix, or I just want to eat that half thing, a half carton of ice cream, or I just, I want to check out. And I call those my other lovers, the things I go to apart from Jesus, who is our first love, Revelation tells us, right? - Yes. - When we turn to those other lovers over anything, overeating, over drinking, working, busy -ness can be another lover. Scripture References: Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Isaiah 61:10 “I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.” Isaiah 49:16 “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands…” Psalm 91:1-16 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly plague. He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the calamity that destroys at noon. Though a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, no harm will come near you. You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked. Because you have made the LORD your dwelling—my refuge, the Most High—no evil will befall you, no plague will approach your tent. For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and cobra; you will trample the young lion and serpent. “Because he loves Me, I will deliver him; because he knows My name, I will protect him. When he calls out to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.” Recommended Resources: Sacred Refuge: Finding Unexpected Shelter in Your Crisis by Lynne Rienstra Sacred Scars: Resting in God’s Promise That Your Past Is Not Wasted by Dr. Michelle Bengtson The Hem of His Garment: Reaching Out To God When Pain Overwhelms by Dr. Michelle Bengtson Today is Going to be a Good Day: 90 Promises from God to Start Your Day Off Right by Dr. Michelle Bengtson Breaking Anxiety’s Grip: How to Reclaim the Peace God Promises by Dr. Michelle Bengtson Breaking Anxiety’s Grip Free Study Guide Free PDF Resource: How to Fight Fearful/Anxious Thoughts and Win Hope Prevails: Insights from a Doctor’s Personal Journey Through Depression by Dr. Michelle Bengtson Hope Prevails Bible Study by Dr. Michelle Bengtson Free Webinar: Help for When You’re Feeling Blue Social Media Links for Host and Guest: Connect with Lynne Rienstra: Website / Instagram Connect with Dr. Bengtson: Order Book Sacred Scars / Order Book The Hem of His Garment / Order Book Today is Going to be a Good Day / Order Book Breaking Anxiety’s Grip / Order Book Hope Prevails / Website / Blog / Facebook / Twitter (@DrMBengtson) / LinkedIn / Instagram / Pinterest / YouTube / Podcast on Apple Guest: Lynne Rienstra serves Samaritan’s Purse as a regional director and has seen crises up close through her travels. Big Idea: God is even working in the small stuff!Esther 2:1-14I. Better to choose wisely than regret badly. Esther 2:1-4Some time later, when King Ahasuerus's rage had cooled down, he remembered Vashti, what she had done, and what was decided against her. The king's personal attendants suggested, “Let a search be made for beautiful young virgins for the king. Let the king appoint commissioners in each province of his kingdom, so that they may gather all the beautiful young virgins to the harem at the fortress of Susa. Put them under the supervision of Hegai, the king's eunuch, keeper of the women, and give them the required beauty treatments. Then the young woman who pleases the king will become queen instead of Vashti.” This suggestion pleased the king, and he did accordingly.II. God can construct an epic story from your worst moments. Esther 2:5-7In the fortress of Susa, there was a Jewish man named Mordecai son of Jair, son of Shimei, son of Kish, a Benjaminite. Kish had been taken into exile from Jerusalem with the other captives when King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon took King Jeconiah of Judah into exile. Mordecai was the legal guardian of his cousin Hadassah (that is, Esther), because she had no father or mother. The young woman had a beautiful figure and was extremely good-looking. When her father and mother died, Mordecai had adopted her as his own daughter.III. Find God's favor in any circumstance. Esther 2:8-9When the king's command and edict became public knowledge and when many young women were gathered at the fortress of Susa under Hegai's supervision, Esther was taken to the palace, into the supervision of Hegai, keeper of the women. The young woman pleased him and gained his favor so that he accelerated the process of the beauty treatments and the special diet that she received. He assigned seven hand-picked female servants to her from the palace and transferred her and her servants to the harem's best quarters.IV. Borrow wisdom carefully, and share it generously. Esther 2:10-14Esther did not reveal her ethnicity or her family background, because Mordecai had ordered her not to make them known. Every day Mordecai took a walk in front of the harem's courtyard to learn how Esther was doing and to see what was happening to her. During the year before each young woman's turn to go to King Ahasuerus, the harem regulation required her to receive beauty treatments with oil of myrrh for six months and then with perfumes and cosmetics for another six months. When the young woman would go to the king, she was given whatever she requested to take with her from the harem to the palace. She would go in the evening, and in the morning she would return to a second harem under the supervision of the king's eunuch Shaashgaz, keeper of the concubines. Pastor Jeff Edwards spoke about finding God. If someone says, “God told me this”, what does that mean? Is it literal, or just a turn of phrase? Is it their own thoughts spoken in churchy language? Do they really find direction from God? If I want God's direction, how does that work anyway? David gave Solomon a cheat sheet on how to find God in any situation.

Thirty-five years later, Brother Barry still tears up thinking about that first Bible study, the night he couldn’t sleep because he thought: could this be it? After years of a chaotic childhood, unstable homes, and churches that left him more confused than when he walked in, God led him right to the door he’d been passing every single day. But what he didn’t know was that his story was just beginning. Because God had a calling waiting for him that would blow up every plan he had for his young life. I'm struggling with the challenge of trying to do God's will. I want to walk in obedience, pray about everything, and try not to get ahead of God. So many people think you can walk away from Christ and they use 1 Timothy 4, and 2 Peter 2, and Hebrew 6&10 to argue their case. What do you say about all of those?
For years, the narrative in Canada was slow decline, polite disengagement and post-Christian skepticism. But that's not the story they're living right now. There are people from every background actually exploring faith and showing up at church. What's going on in Canada? We're doing something a little different in this episode of the podcast. Sean and Amy invited our Canadian consultants, Jonathan Smith and Drake Farmer, to introduce themselves and talk about what they're seeing in the "big C" church in Canada. In this episode, we have a conversation about the real spiritual hunger emerging across Canada, how a strong invitational culture and posture of hospitality are becoming the new front door and what to be ready with when your growth is outpacing your resources. This Episode is Sponsored by Tyndale: As ministry leaders, you are walking with people through anxiety, grief, conflict, and big questions every week. The HelpFinder Bible is a simple, practical tool to help you point them to Scripture. Its unique HelpFinder Index includes more than 100 life topics—so whether someone is struggling with stress, relationships, or doubt, you can turn straight to relevant verses that speak to their situation. In this final installment of our series on spirituality and adventure, I sit down with Bishop Mark Beckman, the 4th Bishop of the Diocese of Knoxville, to explore what happens when faith is formed not just in quiet rooms, but in wild places. From hiking solo through old-growth forests to walking hundreds of miles on pilgrimage, Bishop Beckman shares how discomfort, silence, and physical effort can open us to something deeper than words. We talk about the moments that push us to the edge of our capacity—storms in the backcountry, long days of walking, fear at high elevations—and how those experiences can shape trust, humility, and presence. This conversation is a reminder that adventure doesn't only take us outward into the world, but inward toward meaning, mystery, and a deeper awareness of God. Episode Timeline [2:22] – Bishop Mark Beckman's calling to ministry and how the outdoors shaped his faith from an early age [6:45] – Discovering God's presence through solitude, silence, and hiking alone in the woods [10:48] – Forming a men's backpacking group and finding unexpected community on the trail [16:05] – Walking the Camino de Santiago and learning trust one step at a time [22:40] – Pushing through fear and physical limits on a 14,000-foot peak in Colorado [30:12] – Retreat, silence, and wilderness as pathways to deeper spiritual awareness [38:05] – Suffering, endurance, and how hardship can deepen us instead of hardening us Links & Resources Appalachian Trail Denali National Park Camino de Santiago If you enjoyed this episode, I'd really appreciate it if you'd rate, review, follow, and share the podcast. Finding cheap textbooks doesn't have to be overwhelming anymore. Many students choose to rent textbooks instead of buying new, especially when they only need them for a semester. You can often rent a textbook through major retailers like Amazon or student-focused platforms, and some even look for textbooks for rent through peer-to-peer marketplaces. Others save money by searching for used textbooks, exploring online textbooks, or checking whether rent textbooks Amazon options fit their budget. For short-term access, some students turn to services that let them rent books on Chegg, while others take advantage of textbook buyback programs at the end of the term to recoup some costs. When money is tight, students also look for legal ways to access free textbook PDF versions, especially for older editions or public-domain materials.
What if in 2026 you began to look for God in the everyday moments? Theologian and pastor Frederick Beuchner called this "listening to your life." In this message we explore the practice of listening to our life to find God in the everyday.

A Bigger Life Prayer and Bible Devotionals with Pastor Dave Cover
This is Christian Meditation for A Bigger Life – a time for you to relax your body and refocus your mind to experience the reality of God's presence. I'm Dave Cover. I want to help you with Christian meditation where you can break through all the distractions and experience God's presence through biblically guided imagination. Getting a good night's sleep is a challenge for almost everyone. Especially when there are circumstances in our life we're uncertain about or regrets in our life we can't seem to move past. There's something about the nighttime that often brings out our anxiety and stress and insecurities more. It's amazing the difference of how you'll feel about your life circumstances at 2:00 a.m. versus in the morning when the sun is out. And when we read the Bible we realize this was an issue for David over 3000 years ago as well. Psalms 6:3, 6 (NIV) “My soul is in deep anguish. …All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears.” It seems like I've had one or two nights like that in my life. But mostly whenever I can't sleep is when I can't figure out what to do with my worry or regrets. But David found the ability to sleep when he was able to entrust everything in his life and his life itself into the hands of God. Psalms 3:5 (NIV) “I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.” Psalms 4:8 (NIV) “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.” In spite of facing a multitude of enemies and hardships in his life — David is here choosing to trust and rest in the promise that God is in control. And all David can do now is pray to God for help and entrust things into his hands. And that's all you can do. All the things in your life right now that are causing anxiety, worry, uncertainty — envision yourself putting everything into God's hands. Ask him to do what you want him to do and then leave things in his hands. He may or may not do exactly what you want because he sees the total big picture, but things will turn out ultimately right for you when you trust them into the hands of a loving and good God. In this episode of the Tactical Living Podcast, hosts Coach Ashlie Walton and Sergeant Clint Walton dive into one of the most personal and often unspoken aspects of first responder life: faith (Amazon Affiliate). For some officers, firefighters, dispatchers, and medics, the job pulls them closer to God — prompting prayer on the drive to a call, gratitude after a near miss, or a deeper sense of purpose in serving others. For others, witnessing tragedy, injustice, and unanswered suffering pushes them away from faith. They wrestle with doubt, anger, or the painful question: "How could a good God allow this?" This episode explores why the same experiences can pull responders in opposite spiritual directions — and how to navigate your own faith journey when trauma, grief, and darkness are part of the job.

Want to be productive over Thanksgiving break without giving up family time, football, or those mashed taters?
Life is full of crossroads. Jobs. Moves. Relationships. Direction. Many Christians stress over decision-making because they fear missing God's will. Pastor Jeff and Tiffany discuss how Scripture shows God guiding His people through everyday decisions with wisdom and steadiness. They discuss the four steps that bring clarity and peace, and the five “landing lights” that help believers discern God's voice with confidence. What We Discussed04:11 Double-Mindedness and Spiritual InstabilityJames 1 describes wavering between decisions as “double-mindedness.” He compares it to staggering like a drunk; anxious, unsure, and unstable.05:08 The Wrong Ways We Try to Find God's WillCommon but misguided approaches people use are waiting for emotional tingles, relying on formulas, or looking for mystical signs written in the sky. These methods don't reflect how God normally guides His people.07:00 Four Steps for Discerning God's WillAdmit you need a guide; God leads the humble, not the self-reliant. Ask in faith for direction and listen for God's response. Trust God when you don't understand14:19 The Five Landing Lights of God's GuidancePastor Jeff walks through the five markers that help confirm God's direction:Landing Light #1: A Multitude of Godly CounselorsLanding Light #2: Personal DesiresLanding Light #3: The Peace of the Holy SpiritLanding Light #4: External CircumstancesLanding Light #5: The Word of God22:14 Step 4: Trust God When You Don't UnderstandGod rarely shows the full plan. He often gives light only for the next step. Trust becomes essential when the future is unclear. 23:41 God's Will Is Not HiddenGod delights in guiding His people.
