Listeners of Grace Warriors that love the show mention:It's been such a great start to the year! Today the Grace Warriors talk about the peace we can experience in the midst of suffering. Sara and Kathy talk about shifting seasons and how the Lord gives and takes away during different times in our lives. His word talks about the tribulation we WILL experience here on earth, from our brokenness and others! It can be painful to lose certain relationships, jobs, or hobbies but living with hands open and heart surrendered is when the peace of God can wash over us. His peace is His gift to us but He won't force it on anyone, you get to choose to love and follow him. Make the choice with us today friends and experience the joy that can only come in relationship with your savior!
We're back talking all about love, again! We have been on the subject of God's love this month and since it is the LAST day of February, episode 90 is our final “love' episode. But trust me, it will come back up because everything goes back to His love! Today Sara and Kathy talk about some of the other characteristics of God within His all encompassing love and what that means for us as believers. Remember, He watches over your coming and your going, even when it doesn't feel like it. Trust in Him and His promises. We love you friends!
This week Sara and Kathy are back going through the gospel prayer! They're revisiting this awesome prayer as a reminder and recenter. In times of suffering, we can struggle to hold tight to what is true. The world, the enemy and our own minds can distract us from the simple truths of the gospel. We're so grateful for a Father who sent His son so that we may have deep, untethered communion with Him. He's such a good God who not only loves deeply but cultivated all of history and time to bring you here, right now, for a purpose, to live in His authority and strength and to allow Him to be your God and you to be His people! Praise God! He is intentional in every detail and He never stops pursuing us. Rest in Him and create space for Him to move and breathe life into you today. You are all beautiful women made in the image of the Almighty God!
We're back and creeping up to 100 episodes so so quickly! We can't believe this is episode 88! Sara and Kathy hop on today's episode to do a “refresher”! They start with talking through the amazing relationships they have formed from the podcast and the intentional ways YOU all have encouraged them both, right when they needed it! We are so thankful for all of you! Seriously, the love you guys show us never gets old. Listen in today and walk back with us as we explore the gospel again and remember the entire purpose we are Christians, and the entire reason we have this podcast, it's because of Jesus. The Father loves us so much that He created a way to have a holy, righteous relationship with us and that wasn't through anything you and I ever did, that was through Him sending His only son to live the perfect life then die, bearing the weight of all of our sin, then defeating sin and death 3 days later and now He is alive and seated at the right hand of God! And WHOEVER believes in Him will have eternal life. Dive into this truth today, it will be the best thing you've ever given your life to!
Welcome back to part two of our interview with Suzanne Wheeler! This week Suzanne shares more details about specific hard things she has walked through and the anger she has had toward God. Yes, she had many moments of anger towards God and we are so encouraged to hear how she handled her honest feelings. Suzanne has been such a joy to have on the Grace Warriors podcast. We're praying that her story encourages your Christian walk and desire for the Word. He's present in all circumstances, even our disappointments and anger. Are you experiencing anger toward God? Let's dive into that together and search God's word!
We're back with another interview! This week the Grace Warriors podcast is featuring Suzanne Wheeler. Suzanne was such a joy to interview this week! Her story is inspiring, grounding, authentic, hard and amazing. God has done a significant work in Suzanne's heart through incredibly tough circumstances. This podcast episode is such an encouragement to us as believers and her story is allowing our team to cling to the promises of God all the more! We hope this fills your cup to tackle your week as you lay down the life of striving and wrap your fingers around your Father's hand knowing you also won't be shaken!
Alright Grace Warriors, it's time to get real! This week's episode was fully brought on by the Holy Spirit while Sara was out at her lake house retreating with the Lord. This episode is unique because it is just Sara! She spends the entire episode opening up about her recent health journey and the way that has impacted her walk with the Lord. We desire to walk through ALL of the faith journey with you which means being transparent throughout times of suffering and not just after we have moved through it. The real, the raw, the hard...that is exactly what this episode is. We want to repeat something Sara says at the end because it is truth. We pray this podcast presses you to fall deeper in love with the Word of God. He is the place of ultimate comfort and even when it feels like he isn't near, we KNOW His word has ultimate authority and it says He will NEVER forsake us. Thank you, Jesus.
Welcome back Grace Warriors! This January we are talking about the heart, which entails so many different things. New year doesn't mean old patterns disappear and like we have always said, “New Year, Same Jesus”. We are so grateful for the invitation to cut out the excess and center our hearts anew on Him. It's so easy to get caught up in the expectations of others but as believers we are called to something so much greater and that is submission to the authority of Jesus which allows us to fully embrace His grace. We invite you to lay down your fear of man and step into your true identity in Jesus today. We love you guys so much and are so excited for a new year with you all.
As you know, last week we had a few complications with the podcast episode so we missed out on hearing Kathy's perspective for the New Year! This week Kathy goes more in depth about her thoughts on 2022. Kathy is a planner and someone who is always striving to do better, as she has grown in her walk with Christ she has seen all the Lord can do when we intentionally pursue him, but this year both Kathy and Sara are focusing on the surrender. We believe having open hands to the Holy Spirit is a necessary step for growth. Kathy talks about her word or thought for the year being “Immanuel", God with us, and that is exactly what she wants to focus on. Join us on this beautiful journey as we figured it out step by step with Jesus. He's the true guide and His presence is enough, He doesn't owe us anything but goodness He loves us so much!
We're so excited to kick off 2022 with our amazing followers. Come join our journey as we laugh and grow together throughout this next year. Today Sara and Kathy do a small check-in and evaluate where they are currently spiritually. Sara talks through setting aside expectations for herself and explains how her heart desires to stay curious throughout this next year. Kathy talks through change and how it is NOT a bad thing, even though it may feel bad, it's a part of life and it's only a season! What are you looking forward to this year? Are you setting goals or going with the flow? Our goal is to remind all of you of the gospel, remind ourselves of the gospel and to rest in the assurance of what Jesus has done on the cross. We can't wait to see what Jesus does in the next 365 days! NOTE: THE EPISODE WAS CUT OFF DURING RECORDING. WE APOLOGIZE FOR NOT HAVING THE FULL EPISODE FOR YOU BUT WE WANTED TO RELEASE THE PARTIAL EPISODE INSTEAD OF NOT RELEASING ANYTHING AT ALL. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.
This week on the Grace Warriors podcast we are continuing our conversation about the gift of suffering with Kelsie Downs. Seasons of suffering will happen to all of us many times in this life. Remember, Jesus didn't promise it would be easy but he did say to take heart because he has overcome the world! There will be an end to our suffering here on earth but not until we get Him in eternity. The great news is that there is actually hope here on earth too! Jesus has already come and He brings His presence to our suffering and that truly is ALL we need. He meets us in our pain, he soothes the aches of this hard life and he brings greater hope that rests fully in His finished work on the cross. Be filled with the hope of Jesus as we finish out 2021 with this dive deep into how to handle the gift of suffering and walk with joy because of Jesus!
This week on the Grace Warriors podcast we are interviewing one of our favorite team members again, Kelsie Downs(well our only team member haha)! We are finishing out December talking about the gift of suffering and you don't want to miss this episode. Suffering is will happen to all of us many times in this life. Remember Jesus didn't promise it would be easy but he did say to take heart because he has overcome the world! There will be an end to our suffering here on earth but not until we get Him in eternity, but the great news is that there is actually hope here on earth too! Jesus has already come and He brings His presence to our suffering and that truly is ALL we need. He meets us in our pain, he soothes the aches of this hard life and he brings greater hope that rests fully in His finished work on the cross. Be filled with the hope of advent today as we dive deep into how to handle the gift of suffering and walk with joy because of Jesus!
This week the Grace Warriors are back to talk about the gift of the Holy Spirit. We touched on this a little bit last week with Jenny while she talked on the trinity but this week we are taking a deeper dive into her study on the Holy Ghost! We're so ex
Hello December! Today the Grace Warriors interview Jenny Zabel again. If you have been listening for awhile, we have another interview with her that we recorded a few months back. We love Jenny so much that we invited her back to talk on something she has recently been studying and even taught on at a recent conference. This week we are talking about the trinity and the power of the Holy Spirit. There is SO much to unpack when it comes to the trinity and we barely scratch the surface in today's episode. This episode is one that will challenge you, make you think and possibly even initiate you listening a second time. Have questions? We'd love to chat with you! Reach out over social media anytime! We hope you have a great week and remember to slow down as we enter one of the busiest month's of the year!
Today the Grace Warriors interview Amanda Taylor and goodness it was so refreshing to sit down and talk to this woman! Amanda is a friend of Kathy's and they actually live on the same street. She is rooted deep in the love of her Father and you can see the fruit in the way she obeys Him. Amanda is family-oriented and is deeply shaped by the Word of God. Listen this week to receive encouragement and give you the extra nudge to lean into the Father this week, He won't let you down. He promises He is always near. As always, we are praying for all of our listeners and we are so thankful for you guys!
Happy Thanksgiving Grace Warriors! It's the best time of the year and today we are talking all about the beautiful and hard things we are thankful for in this season. A few times a year we love to take time to sit down and ponder afresh on all that God has done and is doing, and that is what today's episode is! We hope this 30-minute talk encourages you to fall more in love with Jesus, to run to His word when you don't feel thankful and to choose gratitude even when you don't want to. There is always a gift in obedience, there's always a gift in recognizing His grace in all circumstances. We hope you have a blessed thanksgiving, friends!
Today the Grace Warriors talk about a subject we can ALL relate to, maybe even more than we'd like to admit..Judging Others! This is a HARD one because judging others can go hand-in-hand with gossip and honestly both of these sins are socially acceptable in most friend groups, sadly, even in the church. This is an episode you don't want to miss. We also would love to hear what the Lord has taught you on this subject. Kathy and Sara spend time exploring what the Word says on this topic and also talk through their experiences with hard conversations they've walked through with people they love. If you are in a situation where you are needing to confront someone, spend time in the Lord's presence, sit with him in His word and wait on Him to fill your heart with tender compassion and love for that person. The only way we can be loving is through spending time with the true definition of love, we conforms us and we don't even see it! Spending time with Him is the BEST use of your time on this Monday! We love you guys!
Welcome back Grace Warriors! We can't believe we're already nearing Thanksgiving. Time has flown! This week we are diving into the beauty and ashes of the parable of the lost son. This parable has so much in it that we can take away to help us grow and mature in Christ. Jesus is for all people and he desires for all to be saved. He pursues and loves deeply but he won't make anyone love him back. We get to choose, life or death, Jesus or this world. Oh and spoiler alert...we do this our entire lives, choosing the world then run back to Jesus. That's why Jesus came. We couldn't choose the right path without his grace. We can all relate so much to this parable. We encourage you to sit with it this week and study it in the Word.
If you haven't listened to last week's episode, this week may be a little confusing, so pause this one and go back to episode 72! This week on Grace Warriors, we are finishing off Jennifer's story about her husband Michael. In the first episode she talks about the tragedy that nearly killed her husband, but God had other plans. Today Jennifer talks about the days leading up to Michael waking up being peaceful and not filled with anxiety or worry. She was clinging to the peace that only Jesus can give! This life-changing story is only a miracle from God and he truly has gotten all of the glory for it. Thank you so much for sharing your story with the Grace Warriors podcast Jennifer!
Happy Monday Grace Warriors! This week we are interviewing an incredible woman, Jennifer Buckingham! Kathy and Sara both have mutual connections with Jennifer so we are excited to have her on the Grace Warriors podcast this week. Jennifer is a Christian woman, mother, wife and doctor of pharmacy but there is so much more to her story. On a day she and her family will never forget, Jennifer takes us through one of the scariest days of her life. God showed up in a miraculous way because He is a God of miracles! We don't want to spoil the story so tune in and listen. God's presence can be found in any circumstances.
The Grace Warriors kick off this mid-October week with another parable of Jesus! Sara and Kathy are covering the parable of the greedy fool from Luke 12. This parable is filled with life lessons and Jesus provides truth in love, deep deep love for his people to know and love Him. As we always talk about, there is no life found outside of Jesus, this is also true when we talk about money and possessions, the enemy uses THINGS and abundance of wealth to make us think we are good without a relationship with God. That is why we RUN to the Word of God to hear what is actually true and the Word of God doesn't condemn wealth but it reminds us time and time again it will not supply your every need and you will always need a BETTER provider and our one true provider is Jesus! He gives us all that we need, in His perfect timing. We can rest in the present time because our feet find sure footing in Him not dropping us! We have such a good good Father. Join us this week as we mediate on our own idols and where we are being invited to repent.
This week Kathy and Sara cover the parable of the Good Samaritan. Sara starts off reading the passage of scripture, then her and Kathy talk through it step-by-step. This passage goes much deeper than just having compassion for your neighbor but also having compassion toward yourself so you are ABLE to love your neighbor. Jesus is the only way for us to change how we treat ourselves. When we allow HIM to name us and truly believe Him, we love ourselves and people completely different! Curious why Jesus used parables to explain certain things? Tune in this week to hear the significance in the why behind Jesus' methods of speaking. If you'd like to read this parable for yourself, head over to Luke chapter 10! Don't allow the discomfort of this story to make you shy away from seeing yourself in it. There's not one single mistake that God's grace doesn't cover so choose to be honest with the Lord today and bring him a heart of repentance as you start your week.
Welcome back Grace Warriors! This week we are interviewing a dear friend all the way from Lincoln, Nebraska. Andy may sound familiar because she was actually already in a previous GW episode - Episode #32, go check it out if you haven't listened to it yet! Today's episode is just a glimpse into the beauty and peace Andy has found in Jesus through an incredibly painful divorce. She opens up her life in a very vulnerable way that allows others to relate and learn so much from. Andy is a coach and also offers divorce support. She has a website that can be an amazing resource if you are interested in walking through your divorce or other hard circumstances with her. Andy is a beautiful example of what it looks like to lead a life that makes a difference with Jesus! https://www.andyarbie.com/
Let's talk about perfectionism! Today the Grace Warriors are interviewing an amazing woman, Jennifer Zabel. Our episode this week talks through Jennifer's family life and walk with Christ. As she opens up to us about vulnerable parts of her life, we see that her heart is deeply rooted in the love of Jesus. Perfectionism is something many people struggle with and resting in Christ, resting WITH Christ can be a challenge when there are so many things to keep up with. As always our goal is to help you lay down the life of striving so that you may encounter freedom. There is no freedom in trying to make an imperfect world, perfect! Jesus came because you couldn't do it. We pray Jennifer's story and this episode leads you to more grace and patience with yourself. Hold onto Jesus because He isn't letting go of you!
Today the Grace Warriors are talking about the parable of the mustard seed. This parable is Jesus' way of explaining how powerful our faith in Him can be. Faith is something only God can birth in us. When we look at the size of a mustard seed, we see that God is not asking for much and if we give him a little he will give so much in return. Remember how faithful He has been and when you are struggling to remember go to His word and read the many stories and lives where God has taken care of His people and proven His character. Today, Kathy and Sara talk through another way to remember and that is to put yourself around people who can influence you to remember how good He is! Surrender, give him a willing heart, even when you don't feel it or believe it, step out in obedience and trust He is who He says He is! What has he done today? Can you find the gifts in today and give thanks? Just because we don't like what God is doing today does not mean He is not faithful, our opinions don't change the all-consuming power in the character of God. Lay down our imperfect feelings and thoughts and have open hands and allow him to in birth faith in you this morning.
Set your mind on things above! Last week the Grace Warriors talked through Philippians 4 and more specifically verse 8 that mentions a list of things we should be thinking about. Today, Kathy and Sara spend this episode talking through that list. Remember, God's word gives us everything we need! If we are going to choose to capture the chaos in our thoughts we need something to replace them with. This verse in Philippians says to think FIRST then go act! The more you know of the Word the easier it will become to change our worldly thoughts to HOLY thoughts. It all starts with abiding in Christ. There are a million things in this world distracting us and that is why we must choose to cling to the truth of God's word daily, sometimes even moment by moment. When we do this, we allow him to form us through His son. Thank you, Jesus for giving us a way out of the chaos.
Today the Grace Warriors go back to a topic we've spoken on many times before, our minds! Isn't it funny how quick we are to forget? It seems right to have multiple podcast episodes on the mind since it is something we will never FULLY have freedom over until eternity. But guess what? There is freedom to be found in Jesus, even in there here and now! This week we issue our first challenge to our listeners. Sara and Kathy talk about how beneficial it has been in their own lives to cut everything out except for Jesus, eliminate the noise, slow down and listen to the Savior. He has good things to say to you and life-giving truth to lavish upon your heart. Listen in to episode 65 if you are ready to experience rest with us this week.
This week the Grace Warriors put on their war paint and hopped on Zoom for another interview with Meredith Shafer! Each week we talk about “warrioring” up and Meredith shares with us her method, Jesus and coffee! This week's episode dives deeper into the rest of Meredith's story and where she is currently at! Today Meredith talks about how God calls broken people to do His work, she explains how God called them even though they weren't “ready” by man's standards. God uses the tension of tough circumstances and calling's we can never live up to, to show off His power and His glory. Jesus is mighty and that is evident in Meredith's ongoing story.
This week Sara and Kathy finish off the fruits of the Spirit by talking in depth about each one. The fruits of the Spirit are proof of the Spirit's effectiveness in your life! We have good fruit and rotten fruit, how do you know which one you're producing? A simple question to ask yourself is who is influencing my thoughts and actions more right now? The word of God or the world? Am I spending more time in the world than I am with the Father? Would your closest friends and family characterize you by these fruits? Not to bring up shame but let's just take a realistic look at ourselves because we can't change something if we don't know anything is wrong, right? This is something we all go back and forth on and will never do it perfectly but the more we abide, the more He produces these qualities in us, for other to see Him and bring Him more glory! We are invited into His kingdom to bring Him glory! How cool! Jesus came because we CAN'T do it on our own and you'll never cultivate any of these fruits on your own. Spending time in the Word and communing with the Father throughout your day will bring so much more life than living in the world of chaos and rotten fruit. All of this is to bring Him glory and He will complete the work He has started! What a beautiful reminder.
We're taking a break from our interviews this week and hitting on the fruits of the Spirit! Join Sara and Kathy as they talk about their journey with the fruits of the spirit and some misconceptions many of us may have about them. Just like we have been hearing in the interviews, it takes spending time with God to experience life change and that is the same with the fruits of the Spirit. There is a reason the word Spirit is in there, it's only through HIM that we are able to do anything fruitful! The last thing we want you to do is walk away trying to muster up your own strength to “get” these qualities. As always we hope you experience more freedom, victory and grace from this episode. Join us in reading about the fruits of the Spirit this week!
Today on the Grace Warriors podcast Sara and Kathy interview an amazing, fun-loving, strong woman named Meredith Shafer. Meredith's life has been marked by God's grace and His hand has held her through some of the toughest experiences known to man. Her endurance and perseverance is a testament of Jesus' impact on her heart. He changes everything and His joy, peace and power isn't found in good or bad circumstances but instead in the long-term abiding we see in Meredith's life. Thank you for sharing your story with us today Meredith! Find her on Facebook or Instagram at the links below! We pray you all walk away with full confidence in our Father to carry you through any circumstances, He is always working and will never leave you. https://www.instagram.com/meredith_b_shafer/ https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100007165269766

This week and next week the Grace Warriors dive deep into Andi's story, and we get a small glimpse of the beauty God has created and is continuing to carry out in her life. He is a faithful pursuer of His people and her story truly shows how uniquely our God loves each one of us! We don't want to give away too many details so you have to listen for yourself! Then come back next week and listen to the rest of it! Remember, our goal is always to push you to freedom, victory and grace in your true identity in Jesus! Rest in the power of God through His word today.
This week's podcast is one we ALL need to hear! Join the Grace Warriors as they journey through a couple of verses about our minds. Do you ever forget how much you're talking to yourself? How much you're thinking? We do! But in reality, we are CONSTANTLY telling ourselves something and most of the time the story we are telling ourselves is directly tied to our biggest influence. Is the word of God your biggest influence? Ouch, I know...we all need to grow in this area. Good news for all of us is that God desires to renovate our minds and fix our thoughts on Him. We just need to surrender! Yes, it takes time and long-term obedience but He is faithful! Think about the power of the cross and resurrection, we now have that power as believers! He gives us a spirit of power, self-discipline and LOVE. Tune in today to hear about Sara and Kathy's process in capturing their thoughts.
Today's episode we take a small break from the summer of interviews! Join the Grace Warriors as they dive deep into one passage of scripture and revisit the reason grace is in the name! This week's episode is a moment for us to pause and look at our own lives and see where we have chosen to pick back up things we had originally laid down to the Lord. We're dumb sheep, in desperate need of grace! Have you also felt like certain things have crept back into your heart? Do you struggle to pray about these small details? The enemy tries to keep us from prayer because our conversations with God are untouchable by him! Jesus is the better everything, He has grace that is sufficient. When we are weak, He is strong! Join us as we continue to meditate on this scripture this week.
Join us today as the Grace Warriors interview another dear friend. Today's episode is with Carrie MacDonald. Sara and Carrie go way back and as they all three have been in the same industry of business the Lord has blessed them to all know and grow in their spiritual relationships as well! Carrie is a light to many people and carries (no pun intended) a joy with her that doesn't quite make sense. Sounds like Jesus, right? Yep! Tune in today to hear how Jesus has given Carrie a love for people and a deep-centered faith that brings joy to any circumstance. The Father has blessed her time in the Word with him and it reflects in her loyalty to Jesus! We pray this episode gives you the confidence to open your bible and read with new lenses, God-lenses. We pray He shows you how He feels about you as you study His character through His word. Don't know where to begin? Carrie mentions her favorite verse in Ephesians 3! Ephesians is a great place to start!
Today the Grace Warriors interview Jenny Brockman. Jenny is a spiritual parent to Sara and has so much to share with us this week about spending time with the Father. God has used the Word to change Jenny and her entire family. This summer we are making it a priority for you to hear from other women who have been changed by God and His word. We are weak in a lot of areas, we all need a ton of grace and He is sufficient. God is leaning into all of us and our goal is to invite him in. Jenny is a woman who counts the cost and it is worth it to walk our the great commission. We are all ministers of the gospel. Don't know where to begin? Reach out to us on social media!
Today join the Grace Warriors as they interview an amazing Proverbs 31 woman. Sandra Lea is a special woman of God who has been married for almost 38 years and has been steadfast in her faith. God has transformed her life which has allowed her to love people endlessly. Life has not always given her the best circumstances but she knew who to cling too. She is a vessel for the Father! Tune in to Episode 54 to hear about all that God has done for her and done IN her. He truly has given her an unwavering, steadfast and faithful obedience to Him. We hope you're encourage by today's interview!
We kickoff a new year of Grace Warriors by talking about Proverbs 31! This chapter can bring up many feelings for women because it has been used in the past to show where we've never added up, but that doesn't sound like Jesus does it? No! We're enough because He is enough! We're adopted, chosen and His. Praise God! We encourage you to read this chapter before listening and then re-read it after you listen. The woman's beauty talked about in this chapter focuses more on who she is, rather than what she does, but she also does a lot! We see God-given characteristics that only come through long-term obedience to the Father. Today we want you to walk away with freedom knowing there is nothing you can DO to obtain any of these qualities on your own. These are incredible, miraculous traits that ONLY God can cultivate in you through Jesus Christ. The only reason these qualities are beautiful is because they are God-like! We're called to obey and rest in him, He is in charge of chiseling us into Proverbs 31 women, one step at a time. Join the process by jumping into the Word of God with us daily. Jesus changes everything and He is so so good! Today's episode is our ONE YEAR anniversary! We have an entire year's worth of episodes, 52 whole weeks. The only thing that comes to mind is.. God is so good!! This entire podcast is led by His Spirit which is actually what we are talking about today, God's sovereignty! Join the Grace Warriors as we reflect on the faithfulness of God and assurance we have in His character. He is all sovereign. What does this mean? And yes, I am writing this description right now haha! Join us this week to hear from Kelsie as she talks about her journey with the Word and how Jesus has changed everything for her. You hear the Grace Warriors talk about it every single week and this is just another example of Jesus changing everything. His word is power, ultimate truth and He gives it to us to be our weapon on this battlefield called life. We hope you find encouragement in God’s faithfulness through His word.
Today's episode has no set agenda! This episode is meant to be a check-in and a time to be real with you all about the difficult and hard in our own lives! We always want to be real and sometimes it looks like we may have it all together, but we DON'T! We are all growing just like you all! We need community because God made us that way, He desires us to live in community for accountability and refreshment! Hear about the things Sara and Kathy are wrestling through and step into what they are learning in the Word. Things aren’t always peachy but the Lord is so good throughout all circumstances! Grow with the Grace Warriors in vulnerability and our true identity in Christ!
Join the Grace Warriors today to finish Psalm 23. We start today’s episode with verse four and journey into what it means to walk through the valley of the shadow of death but to fear no evil. This Psalm is filled with hard truths that are sometimes hard to believe in our hearts. We all know life will bring us valleys, that’s right WILL. But the good news today and every day is that we are NEVER alone in that valley, and when it gets dark we have a shepherd to draw near to. He is always with us. Reading popular chapters or verses can become common and they lose power in our hearts. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to meet you as you read Psalm 23 this week and listen to the podcast. The truth will set you free! He has good in store for you, even in the valleys. Close out this chapter with us as we embrace the goodness and mercy that follows us as we dwell in the house of the Lord forever!
This week Sara and Kathy go a little further in Psalm 23. This chapter is only six verses long but there is so much to unpack we don’t want to hurry through it. The next two verses we cover have a significant impact on how we view God and His tender care for us as His flock. He gives us a choice, be under the shepherd’s care or not, but just like we see when sheep do not stay near their shepherd, we too are cast down. He doesn’t lead us and make us lie down for no reason, He restores us and leads us, all for His names sake. We require full-time care from the perfect shepherd and submitting to that will be the best choice we make in life. If this has stirred you, reach out, we’d love to pray for you or help you get in the Word. We pray this episode leads to grace, victory and helps you find your true identity in Jesus.
This week Kathy and Sara continue on in the book of Psalms! A psalm that many know and lots have maybe even memorized, Psalm 23 is much deeper than we all thought! This episode covers the first verse of the Psalm and as they unpack the meaning of the Lord being our Shepherd we see that everyone makes someone or something their shepherd. Our goal as Grace Warriors is to wake up each and every day and choose to make God our Shepherd. Unlike most shepherds, ours wants to love us, know us and not just be our guide, but so much more. When we choose to lay down our idols and proclaim “I don’t know best, but God does and I am going to trust him.” We are making God our shepherd, and that is the only place real life is found. He is enough and He truly is all we need!
This week on the Grace Warriors podcast, Kathy and Sara continue their series on the book of Psalms. Psalm 138 is where they land and begin talking about the importance of leaving a legacy, an eternally significant life. We all effect people around us and we are all influenced by each other, so are we intentional with our words and actions? We leave a legacy no matter what. We get to choose if it will be eternally significant or not. Sounds like a heavy weight, right? It actually isn’t our weight to bear. Jesus came knowing we can’t leave a perfect legacy, so He did it for us! He calls us to abide in Him and His word and His character will begin coming out of us! You don’t have to DO anything. Dwell in the shadow of the almighty and slow down long enough to hear His voice guiding your every step. He’s a good Father who will never leave us. Sit with this song of praise today. Proclaim Him boldly by being in the Word daily. He is steadfast and faithful when we are not. He is worthy of it all. Thank you for leaving the perfect legacy, Jesus!
This week Kathy and Sara discuss the 27th Psalm. This Psalm holds a special place in both of their lives and God has used it to build pillars of faith in their walks with Him. This Psalm is written by David in the midst of crisis. He even mentions in verse three an army besieging him and a war breaking out against him! David lived in unpredictable times and a lot of uncertainty! Sound familiar? Yes, we all do! Life is unpredictable but God’s Word is consistent and true. This gives us so much hope. This week step into the beauty and raw honesty of Psalm 27 and ask the Spirit to transform your heart as you spend time with Him. Be filled with hope and assurance today, God does messy and He is our security and blessing.
This week, Kathy and Sara open up the book of Psalms to take a raw look at the hurts and brokenness of this world. We all sin against others and we have all been sinned against in some way. Psalm 147 is a beautiful picture of our Father God restoring and building back up what has been broken down. Don’t miss out on the vulnerable stories in this episode that may encourage you to step into the hard and unknown places of healing, God takes us through it, not to destroy us but to redeem us, so that we may share our redemption story. Remember, He will never leave your side and as you deal with things you may have been avoiding, you have a Father who cares deeply for you and will walk you through it all, and He promises to bring healing. He is a God that restores, redeems and turns our wounds into scars, just like He did with Jesus.
This week Sara and Kathy continue the series on the book of Psalms by diving deep into Psalm 139. This chapter in the Bible is a MUST READ! David writes this Psalm stating from the beginning God has searched Him and knows Him. He proclaims this because it’s true! God knew David better than David knew himself and this beautiful Psalm is an example of how detailed God is in creating each and every one of us! He is an intricately divine creator who sees us all as individuals, uniquely made in His image! In today’s culture, it feels like we are all lumped together by groups and like the world is telling us we don’t matter but let this Psalm help you go against the grain and put a stake in the ground to declare, “I do matter! I am created by the Almighty God who created ALL things and loves me!” If you are feeling unseen or unheard, spend this week reading through this Psalm everyday. Ask the Lord to show you how loved you are and how special He created you. He sees your pain, He wants you.
Today Sara and Kathy continue their series on the book of Psalms. The Psalms contain details of God’s character. They are compelling and tell us who God is. They bring comfort. This week the Grace Warriors dive into Psalm 91 and we learn the importance of dwelling and abiding in the Father. Psalm 91s author is actually unknown but they believe David possibly wrote it. This Psalm is filled with assurance of his comfort. Our job as believers is to dwell, abide, and remain in Him. It is a secret place that we get to live in and rest in because He promises to take care of us! Give yourself permission to make time in the Word a priority this week. It’s the most important thing you can do with your time. Meet with the Father. Grow in your walk with Him and be filled with assurance that is He is always protecting you.
Guess what? We have Nadia Neal back as a special guest again this week! Last week we started a series in the Psalms and today the Grace Warriors continue diving deep into the book by talking about the Songs of Ascent. The Songs of Ascent were songs sung by worshipers as they journeyed to Jerusalem for feasts. These songs are filled with honesty and praise. Psalms 120-134 are where you can find these songs. They seep with words of growth, sacrifice and trust and show us God can be trusted in the unknown. Trusting God when we can’t see is difficult but the only way to fully believe in our hearts that He can be trusted is to know him! The best way to know the Father is through spending time in His word. Join us this week as we read through the Songs of Ascent. His word is the only way we can live out our true identity in Christ.
